Rebekka Anstem releases ambient folk single ‘Sandcastle’

Manchester-based Norwegian Rebekka Anstem, has released a new single called ‘Sandcastle’.

Rebekka interweaves natural field recordings, modular textures, found sounds from her kitchen and childhood samples into a sonic palette, blending folk and ambient to paint layers of tenderness and nostalgia for her delicate words and intimate vocals to float on.

Rebekka says “I recently jotted down a quote by Heraclitus discovered in one of Maggie Nelson's books; “you cannot step into the same river twice”, which to me feels like the essence of this song. I wanted ‘Sandcastle’ to feel soft and warm, which is why I experimented with playing on glasses and incorporated the harp. I also wanted the structure to reflect the storyline, so I’ve played around with sectioning the song into phases with the instrumental bit as sort of a hypnotic “breather”.

Singkat ceritaa dari acara puncak ituu tibalah liburan semester~ jd w jg ngga ngekoss balik ke rumah. Trus gue tu jg kyk apaya distancing myself from joshua banget gituu kyk kalo dichat ga se-engaged biasanyaa soalnya gue sedih dan takut baper semakin dalamm HAHA. Terus jadinya jg selama liburan itu gue seringnya main sama minghao vernonn YAY geng motor is back. One day malem2 gt gue lg rebahan sambil buka IG trus gue tbtb liat jisoo ngepost story ada joshuanya gitu terus mereka lg di Eropa dong... ih shockkk  trus gue lgsg nangiss HAHAHA sama curhat ke woozi gitu la telponan sekitar 1 jaman gt. Abis selesai telponan gue baru liat ada chat dr hani!!! Dia kayak nanya gituu besok gue ngapain terus gue blg gaada acara sih plg dirumah ajaa, soalnya hao ada ultah neneknyaa sama bonon mau jalan sama sepupunyaa. Terus si hani kyk oh yaudah jalan sama gue yu! Terus gue nanya kann kemanaaa, dia blg kyk rahasia tp pokonya besok dia jemput di rumah gue jam 7 pagi gt ckckck. Pagi2 jeonghan di depan rumah guee pake baju sans bgt gitu kaos sama celana pendek ky mau olahraga. Rambutnya dipotongg udh ga dikuncir lg waa jd terlihat lebi cowo walaupun ttp panjang buat standar cowo. Pas liat gue pake baju rapih dia kyk “kebagusan anjir ganti baju!!!” Terus gue kyk “ya gue gatau kita mau ngapain??????” Ternyata mau jalan pagi gitu jd gue disuru pake baju olga tapi ya bawa baju ganti jugaa taro tas dia. Tapi jeonghan ga mau ngasitau kita mau kemana terus jalannya rebekk bgt lewatin jalan raya segala macem. W: “ini kita mau kemana sih??” Han: “udaaa jalan aja” W: “ini uda jauh bgt???” Ternyata kita ke... roti eneng wakakakakakakkaak jauh lho dr rumah gue tp ya fun sih! Trus senengg makanannya enak. Abis dari roti eneng kita jalan keeee rumah jeonghan wakakaka ternyata rumah dia tu di gandaria2 rute lari pagi lebskul gitu. Intinya sih hari ini dia ngajak nyantai2 ajaa kyk kegiatan sehari2 sbg roommates di kosan gituu wakak soalnya kalo lg kuliah kan gue sama dia sibuk bgt jd ga ada waktu buat chill bareng as roomies~ jd gue nebeng mandi dirumah dia gt. Abis itunya nonton netflix bareng wakakaka mager amat yak tp seruu dan it takes my mind off things jugaa dr galau shua especially! Terus delivery makan siang dee pesen dintaifung wekek. Pas makan siang ya sambil ngobrol2 kan tu~ terus ya dia nanyaa kyk “lo liat story jisoo ga kemarenn” sbnrnya gue kayak PENGEN BGT bahas itu sm dia tp masih mencari2 momen yg tepat gt HAHA thankfully dia bring up duluann. W: “iya liaat, mereka jalan2 ke eropa bareng..? Gue tau sih shua ke eropa tp ga tau kalo bareng jisoo?” Han: “ohh iyaa gue jg taunya gt, tp emg beberapa hari yg lalu shua cerita ke gue jisoo jg ternyata lg di eropaa jdnya mereka jd jalan barengg” W: “waw gt ya...” Trus ky rada awk silence gtt han ngeliatin guee  terus dia nanyaa lo gimana sih sbnrnya sama shuaa? Biasanya gue salting kann tp gatau ini lg pengen serius aja gt, jd gue jawab yaa gituuuu mungkin lo jg udh ngeh jg sbnrnya. Trus han jawab iya sih sebenernya dia more or less bisa ngerasainn soalnya gue suka salting gt kalo ada shua, cuma ya dia gatau pasti jugaa soalnya gue gapernah ceritaa. Kyk dia berharap kedepannya sbg roomies bisa makin deket dan saling cerita kalo ada apa2 atau ada yg mau dibantu(?) waaaa. Trus gue kyk baru ngeh oh dia tu ngajak gue pergi kynya krn mau menghibur soal shua toh wkwkwkwk. Tp trus han bilang jugaa honestly kalo dr yg dia tau skrg, ya shua sama jisoo deket sii kyk shua jg jd sering ngmgin jisoo gituuu. Ya intinya gue denger itu kyk sedih lagii trus dipukpuk2 hann tp dia blg pokonya kalo msh ada kesempatan dia bakal ttp bantuin guee tp gue kayakk hngg gausa2 gitulaaa trus ya dia nge-reassure lg pokonya kalo mau dibantu apapun ttg apapun cerita apapaun jgn sungkan2 yaa terus gue kyk iyaa. Yauda abis makan kita main game bentarr (?) terus sorean gt han ngajak naik mrttt sampe bunderan HI abis itu cari cafe2 lucu disekitar situu buat dessert. Senenggg!! Tp pas bgt baru turun dr mrt bunderan HI gt tiba2 vernon ngirim voice note ke grup geng motor + woozi hoshi: “Guys, gue kecelakaan nih pas naik sepeda sama sepupu. Skrg lg di rumah sakit mau diperiksa dokter. Doain yaa.” PANIKK

Hive in the Rings

The Silent Kai zipped along the celestial road, her aquatic frame swimming in the void’s silence for the Saturn-based mining colony separate from the Grineer powers that still hold the claim for its diminished powers. Nestled within one of the many asteroids trapped in the gas giant's thousand rings, easily hidden from all but Tenno and the pirates that hid within. 

Converting with a slow deceleration and fit into a secondary dock after a quick exchange of codes, the orbiter made lock-contact. “We have arrived, Operator. Most of the summoned are already waiting on your appearance.” Amissa alarmed while the Warframe-lock twisted to allow the Excalibur Wulfrik to step off. A creature with wolfish steps and half-developed chitinous skin of metal and hardened flesh, the Mordred frame had a hefty ponytail of beaded braids and walked on clawed paws that made little but necessary sounds. Twin black blades crossed his lower back, the only visible weapons besides his powerful hands ending with natural knives.

Normally, Sariel had a penchant for his loftier elder frames but Wulfrik insisted. His clan leader couldn’t deny him the honour. The operator resting his aether within the flesh and mind of the Excalibur as the wolf-knight strode towards the dock’s entry where a couple guards of Corpus-handling approached.

“Afternoon, Tenno.” One of the guards greeted, keying in to allow him passed this point. Despite the precautions, it amused Sariel to no end that it was necessary. The boundless evidence that spacing out a Tenno and their warframe was rarely a successful idea, these facilities need some kind of reassurance or place of power against anyone coming aboard their turf. 

One colony tasted that false-hope this year already. Nevertheless, Sariel paid little mind and patiently waited before stepping on through. The colony was one of his more welcome spots, seeking information and trade with the pirates that were practically a personal asset to his operations around Jupiter.A symbiotic relationship that kept both and this place a functioning cycle. It was well-populated with the huffs and roll of gases in the dim-litted hive of life. Humans, grineer-clones, and refurnished Corpus tech with mrawling animals crossing here and there.

All of it easily represented by appearance of Captain Rebekk, a traitor-grineer.

His malformed face a twist of smile and metallic sneer with replacement arms wide from his rotten greatcoat. “Ah! My friend, it is good to see you aboard the colonial bay. Here to do business, yes? I’ve seen to it that our guests were given the best seats in my personally-favorite club. Good drinks, you know the Squirming Wyrm, hoho!” 

Wulfrik sneered with a low growl at the loud meatbag, tongue licking his iron teeth at the thought of chewing out his throat. Remaining calm by Sariel’s touch and his voice echoed through the warframe, “Oh Rebekk. You are too kind and bombastic as per usual. What could I do without you?” 

The pirate captain planted his fists to his waist, happily showing off his chest in pride. “Oh, you could handle yourself, my friend. With your shooters and frames, yes! Please, please - let us walk and talk. Things to say.” He insisted. Of course, he never approached Sariel so openingly and shower him so without something at the end of the praises.
