I am very chatty on discord sometimes, and the search function is really helpful for me when it comes to going back and finding old things. I'm also just on discord basically all day in some capacity, so I rarely miss things for long.

★  MOST ACTIVE MUSE: I can basically write any of my DR OCs at the drop of a hat, although Shinobu is the one who I am currently writing most, and have the easiest time writing because of that. I think for me, though, it's more "do I have energy/creativity to write right now at all" rather than if I have muse for a specific character or not - it's not usually the case that I struggle with a specific character at a time when I'm otherwise writing easily.

★  EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS: I started off on a forum in maybe 2006 or 2007, did some stuff on livejournal, had a cup of coffee at Gaia Online, and settled on Tumblr in maybe... 2012? 2013? I've done some things on discord (don't love it for RP) and google docs (it's okay) since then, and a handful of other places, but I think I'm just Here Now, like furniture.

★  RP PET PEEVES:  

I have talked about these all so many times so I'll try to keep it brief hahaha.

People who repeatedly drop threads without reaching out to say anything (this is my #1 pet peeve), and people who generally cycle "taking on too many asks/drafts, then dropping all of them, repeat."

People who habitually archive/delete and remake their blogs, especially if they don't make any changes to how they run things, who they interact with, etc. I see it as, like "bringing your bed to your new apartment and being confused as to why you still have bedbugs."

People who post tons of OOCs, as well as things like memes, starter calls, ship calls, etc. while having a massive backlog of drafts and inbox things already.

People who treat OCs/female characters/female OCs dismissively, or as stepping stone interactions.

★   PLOTS OR MEMES: Plots. I honestly don't like memes very much since I feel like they seldom lead to the kind of long-term interactions I like the most, but they're so entrenched on tumblr that I just kinda have to accept them. I would much rather talk to people and plot out loose thread ideas than send in a dialogue prompt from a movie I haven't seen and hope it gets answered and hope that that answer feels like something I can respond to and hope that my reply gets replied to and it's actually a thread. I like doing stuff that develops across multiple threads too, and plotting is much better for that.

★  ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: Not really, I don't think. There are pieces of me in all of my characters, of course, and there are superficial similarities sometimes in terms of like, hobbies or interests, but I think the characters who feel like they got more of me mixed into them are like, D&D characters, or characters from my other blogs.

assuming that the original poster meant reoccurring dreams. little enamoured with the possibility of what a reacquiring dream might be. honestly though i do not dream that much!!! the last dream i remember having was like,,, god, upwards of three months ago? over winter break? when i had a really devastating dream about having a kid and taking my baby boy everywhere with me and looking down at him and realizing that he had my eyes and my freckles and then like. waking up. just fucking wrecked at the realization that i didn't have my child anymore. terrible.

accidentally deleted a whole paragraph just now i hate it here... anyway! 😭 definitely have repeating elements in my dreams. i've had a bunch where i am being chased and can't manage to run quite fast enough to get away from whatever's chasing me. i've had a few dreams where i can fly, too :) i wake up from a lot of dreams with a really strong sense of deja vu, and there's the whole thing where like. you are always dreaming once you hit rem or whatever it's just that you don't remember it, so there is the possibility of many more reoccurring dreams that i just do not remember...

i am the pet peeves guy of all time. the hater ever even. not gonna say i have misophonia as a medical diagnosis or anything lmao but chewing and breathing sounds make me like. god. i try not to be an asshole about it but it is So Bad for me. whole body shudders just at the thought of it it makes me Viscerally upset/angry/disgusted and i have like Physical Reactions to it 😭 very sensitive to small noises in general; can't sleep if there's small inconsistent noises happening that i don't control. gotta be silent or white noise or music or smth haha. if i can hear the sound of someone breathing i Will Not be able to sleep to the point where i get so angryfrustrated over it that i cry real actual tears. being aromantic is actually not just a romantic orientation to me it's a defense mechanism against the possibility of being expected to share a bed with someone for the rest of my life lmao

sometimes it's just the sound of someone's voice too which is the WORST cause none of this is anyone's fault but when the sound of my mother's singing voice in church makes me like. sit there clenching and unclenching my fists and my jaw with repulsion just because Something about it grates (she is a professional singer and i have listened to her sing my entire life it's not a rational or reasonable response) it feels so shitty 😭 anyway... other pet peeve is people leaving stuff out in shared spaces haha

So... BK Chuuya would never actually want to talk to me unless she could talk about herself and only herself. Like, if I ever mentioned something that was going on with me after letting her talk and talk over again, she would leave me on read until she could talk about herself again the next day. Unfortunately, we're kind of pushovers, so we never said anything about it. She would reply if I messaged her a meme she'd like or something similar. On this day, I had messaged BK Chuuya a meme or some shit, and IMMEDIATELY she began posting on her Vent account about how she HATES notifications she HATES being sent messages she HATES discord noises. I didn't double text, it was just a "hey thought you might like this"

Later, after feeling bad for a few hours, when she had calmed down, I requested she not vague about me, and her response was "oh well I wasn't vagueing it was a general vent". Whatever, gave her the benefit of the doubt.

She then grew more passive-aggresive, saying shit like "this vent isn't about anyone here but if the shoe fits..." about things that were clearly about me.

Our actual friendship ending was because I was talking about my mother with regards to her mental illnesses and BPD, and how that very much influenced the type of abuse she put me through, and how it was a fascinating thing but the discussion of the intersecting ways mental illness and abuse can exist ("being mentally ill and abused" and "being mentally ill and an abuser") is so full of ableism that it's upsetting to not be able to really unpack that or join any support groups where I can try to untangle that mess.

I stated, multiple times, that the post was about my mother, and not about mutuals, that it was SPECIFICALLY about the types of abuse I endured under my mother and trying to understand her mental illnesses without using them to excuse/explain her abuse. It wasn't a vague.

She went ape shit in my DMs, saying that all the system except one alter sucked, demanding that said alter have a seperate account no one else could access to talk to her (which is a really weird thing to ask for, especially because our system doesn't work like that, WHICH SHE WOULD KNOW IF SHE TRIED TO GET TO KNOW US), just generally throwing around words trying to get one to stick. It was a word salad message full of reaching, honestly. No paragraph breaks. Sent at 1am or some shit. Seperate alter deleted the message.

But, while she blocked most our accounts on Vent, she forgot to block the one I primarily used for Venting. I'm normally fairly mature, but I was a little peeved and decided, "fuck it. Why not vague for once." So... I posted "well, that was about my mom, but if the shoe fits..." And she blocked that one.

rp pet peeves : I keep running into situations where I get heavily invested in plotting something (Drawing, writing head cannons, making playlists, planning cannon events. . .I literrally brushed up on a whole ass language for a plot) Only to have those people completely leave me on read. I am not a pushy partner in the least. I would be more than happy to wait a month for a reply. But I need communication. I need feedback if something doesn't sit right for you. I need reciprocated enthusiasm. You don't have to show It the same way I do but I need some show of enthusiasm otherwise it just feels uncomfortable and I feel annoying and restrained. That's not what I'm here for. I've honestly made the decision to start unfollowing people based on a three strikes basis. No hard feelings. fluff, angst, or smut :ALL OF IT! While I'm becoming more and more selective about who I write smut with I LOVE writing smut ESPECIALLY if its born of post Angst fluff. Actually almost exclusively. There is nothing that gets my muses motor going like post Angst Fluff! 

plots or memes : Augh! Don't make me pick. I love Plotting but sometimes nothing really gets the juices flowing like memes do. I cant tell you how many times a simple meme interaction help set a pivotal point in a plot. ALSO- Memes are usually what help me forego my shy nature. While my muse outwardly gives NONE of the Ducks. . .I do . I give all of the Ducks so memes help  me loosen up. long or short replies : It depends on my mood and attention span. There is a Adderall shortage right now so I have only been taking my Adderall on work days so Ive had a VERY hard time focusing o replies as of late. When Im on top of my Game I am LONGWINDED AF .Please don't ever feel like you have to match me because there are times where I will write you a novel and we were only supposed to be writing a sentence or two. Social Mechanics

I don't really like social mechanics in ttrpgs. A roll you make to convince someone of something, or to detect a lie, tell a lie, etc. Here's the little thought process I go through when the players want to convince someone to do something.

Most NPCs either want to maintain the status quo or improve their circumstances, provided it doesn't endanger themselves, their livelihood, or their loved ones.

If you want them to do what you want, you need significant leverage. Leverage will look different depending on the person.

The GM should always err on the side of giving the players information. "This guy is obviously lying to you, what will you do about it" creates a tense situation where the players have a choice. "Roll to see if they are lying" does basically nothing, or at worst puts the player in a position where they have to pretend not to know someone is lying (having to separate player and character knowledge in a way that disadvantages you actually sucks and isn't fun most of the time. Having to pretend not to know to use fire on a troll is a huge pet peeve of mine. Same principle.)

He's lying to you. She's implying that he's open to a bribe. He's very skinny and eyeballing your loaf of bread while you ask about guard patrols. These are all moments of agency and choice that a roll to convince mechanic sidesteps in favor of putting the system to the fore.

The caveat to all of this is that I basically find rules are useful for abstracting things we can't easily talk through (like hacking a computer or buckling swash) and for helping the GM create a world / situation for the players to act against. Earlier iterations of Night Tripper had a social skill, but it felt great to just delete it.

The other caveat is that I'm not arguing this is how all rpgs should or do work. It's something I find useful for the wholly unique games I play with my friends and maybe you will too.

Hi! I stumbled across my ask where I asked you about your thoughts on Geats's first episode, and with the show coming to an end, I wanted to see how you felt about it now, if you've kept up with it? I really liked it, it gave me brain worms

I've been enjoying Geats a lot! I'll try to keep this brief review mostly spoiler-less just in case.

It so far has had the most dynamic and fun fight choreography in Reiwa? Though some scenes from Zero-One still live rent-free in my brain (Fuwa my beloved). It's just really refreshing compared to the previous season. I love the use of environment and more hand-to-hand that can actually be seen without flashy effects. Not to say it doesn't have occasional colourful cgi, but the usage is more consistent for when an attack's power/type actually calls for it. Characters take creative actions with their tools! Buffa using his feet/leg to kickstart his chainsaw because it's a big heavy weapon also lives rent-free in my head. Different characters use the same power-up different ways. I have more actual examples to prove I'm not just over-exaggerating but those are big spoilers. I just like the Geats is consistent with having fights with flow and appeal and suiting different characters styles. Important when they can change or lose their power-up weapons so often w how DGP suits work.

The designs are cleaannnn. The emphasis on the undersuit as a base uniform that is functionally customizable? That's very fun. It has a consistent belt/power-up gimmick and is surprisingly versatile despite people only using the same one or two belt type. (Not groundbreaking as other KR shows have done limited tech before as well, due to literally only having 1-3 riders at most, but important to me) I don't think there's a design I really dislike from Geats. There's suit combinations being jarring colour combos but they're temporary anyway. And the ones that looks clunky and alien were, well, those made sense really.

It's done some things that I wasn't expecting from KR, at least from a Reiwa/Heisei 2 style. Heisei 1 had its serious/scary moments since those leaned more into the J-Drama side but those were yearsss ago so seeing it in Geats was an interesting whiplash (SPOILER: referring to some scenes/revelations that surrounded child death and existentialism)

I do have nitpicks but not enough to really ruin the experience for me. To be vague, it's about an arc's relevance/writing, a specific character's writing, and a more inconsequential thing like lack of some specific character designs.

I'm curious on how it'll wrap up since this is the first time Yuya Takahashi wouldn't have to rewrite and rush anything due to unforeseen circumstances like with Ex-Aid and Zero-One

Realized how often I use the word 'consistent' lol. It's just one of my pet peeves if rider/power systems are just, thrown away, and people start getting belts and forms up the wazoo w no decent explanation. Even though I think this is a real relationship (not sure how serious) used for PR so many things surrounding this situation are so odd. But the PR angle makes no sense to me. Like you said this type of PR relationship has done him ZERO favors and anyone can tell that. And I also think it is not favoring her at all. Yes she gained more followers but she hasn’t done anything with this newfound recognition. She hasn’t booked any interviews, barely promoted her show. She even ended up deleting her account. The whole point of a PR relationship is to be constantly in the public and have people talking (think Pete Davidson and his relationships). This is not like that at all. If he wanted to promote her show, there was no need to confirm a relationship. He could’ve just posted a friendly message did a puff piece with People about how he’s supporting his friend. Honestly, I think at this point we just need to wait and see

What does Chris stand to gain from this relationship if it’s actually PR? A new image. The fandom knew something was up between them at the beginning of the year and nothing came from it except a few interactions on IG. Nothing really happened until October. The fans were prepared for something, the GP weren’t. Creators on the internet who never spoke about him went on long rants about how he’s another Hollywood cliche going through a midlife crisis. Maybe he really wanted to shed the internets boyfriend, dog dad, Disney loving image in hopes of reinventing himself and the way the public sees him. He’s had that good press for years. My mom watched TGM over the summer and she said she didn’t like Lloyd or Chris playing a character like that. He’s Cap and should stick to roles along those lines. Maybe this is him entering his villain era in hopes of getting more drama heavy roles. Maybe he doesn’t want to be known as Prince Charming anymore.

I’m going to play devils advocate here and say that CE knows that his appeal and “sell” to his fans and public is the sweet, handsome bachelor in Hollywood who can’t find love. I believe after it was made known they are an item, to quickly bury it and get back to “look at handsome Chris” mode. And I think he likes being viewed that way too.

I’ve seen y’all and a few other people question “Why Alba?” if it’s just for PR and I have some thoughts.. Why not go with someone you already know? Why out another hookup when you have one that people have already been speculating about for a year? It gives them a built in timeline with NYE as proof and a LDR also gives an excuse for why there are no photos of them and no one has seen them out together. It also lets them do the bare minimum for PR since they’re not really expected to be in the same place. Why wasn’t she at any big events like family and friends’ weddings, or premieres? Well they’re both busy working and LDRs are tough. Plus a long distance relationship where he’s traveling to go see her kind of lines up with his character in Ghosted, just more realistically. No one outside of the fandom is really going to question the relationship or timeline. We’re in a bubble. People don’t care about Chris Evans as much as we think they do. His career will be fine. I promise.

Whether it’s PR for Ghosted, a PR cleanup from the pumpkin photo leaking their situationship, or an actual relationship, it will eventually end, and people will eventually stop talking about it. It’ll just become a messy, chaotic blip in his history. I know that sounds bleak if it is real, but honestly just don’t see this working out for them in the long run.

The no pictures thing is just the weird part for me.// for me the no pictures thing just shows hes learning from his past. They way this fandom has treated the women is his life is shameful. If i was famous and someone treated the people i dated like that i would def try and keep it as secret as possible for as long as possible. I would have a rule about not putting putting pics on the internet. People would not have known they we’re together if his fans weren’t super stalkers looking up real estate listings and property taxes and tracking tail numbers. If they we’re together for over a year (which I absolutely DO believe) I think they did the best that could be expected in keeping it private.

I was at work and not able to super concisely answer this ask initially, but I really do think it’s possible my tone gets taken as extremely seriously sometimes because I write a lot. The truth is I just have like 3 English degrees and specialize in critical literary theory while being a longform fiction writer on the side so like. I like to write a lot and I have a lot to say and get really passionate about topics. But I think it reads as SUPER SERIOUS to see a big wall of text about a subject. And also I’m most certainly on the spectrum so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk dude.

And I mean. I’m not a saint LOL I’ll obviously get pissed sometimes, and sometimes it’s “righteous” anger ie. bigotry or something but sometimes it is just a pet peeve. I try to explain the cause of my frustration and remain articulate yk and sometimes I DO make posts that I feel come off as unnecessarily aggressive or reactive upon a second glance and delete or edit them, but I’m in absolute earnest not a fan of negativity or meanspiritedness, hence why I try to actually vocalize what bothers me about something instead of just complain yknow??

All that’s to say I’m genuinely not trying to be a dick to people and I want to generously say that the majority of the time if that’s how you’re reading my tone you’re probably misinterpreting my intention, but I’m also not perfect either LOL. I think most of us use our blogs to vent out annoyances and I’m guilty of that too. But I’m typically really not trying to hurt feelings or anything.

top 5 jay/vik pet peeves? 👀

I let this ask simmer a bit in the back of my inbox because... oh man you guys really want to see me rant like that? Unbelievable. But I'll indulge anyway since I could on about this forever:

#1 the way people straight up delete everything about Jayce as a character, be it talis or giopara, just to turn around and act like he's "leeching off viktor's genius" or "a big stupid dumb idiot who cant grasp simple concepts XD" "brainless idiotic himbo" like… this is so tiring to me. Are you trying to call him braindead? Because that's what it sounds like. I don't find it funny or charming anymore thanks to the sheer density and frequent malice adjacent to this kind of content.

#2 Related to above, but also found on its own, SPECIALLY in arcane fandom bubbles: a fixation on Jayce's body as a sexual object or sexual accessory to other people as his "Only redeeming character trait". It's become so prevalent I don't like browsing content for him anymore. Fans will legitimately make up bullshit reasons as to why Jayce is lesser than other characters (the council, mel, heimerdinger, viktor, vi, whoever, you name it) and then hold up more brainless no personality idiotbad himboXD porn as the only thing his character could ever amount to. Way to go! You're treating this show's singular brown lead as actually subhuman. There truly are no words. And it's not like it's hard to give Jayce an ounce of interesting things to do: most of what people attribute to viktor as sciency and driven and passionate is something that he shares with jayce; sometimes, its straight up things jayce came up with and worked on all his life getting penned as "viktors thing". I just find fandom, for one reason or another, holds a severe disinterest in treating them as equals. And it makes their dynamic worse. (This last point is not exclusive to arcane, sadly.)

#3 Viktor woobification, and an insistence that he could neeeeever do anythiiiiing wroooooong, regardless of verse. It makes him into such an uninteresting non-character. Viktor was created to *BE* the mad scientist archetype; this was his initial concept and it persists to this day, you can't take away his responsibility for his mistakes, or pretend it was Jayce's fault, and still expect him to be a good character. I don't even know what you're stanning at that point. I've had ppl genuinely argue with me that viktor never hurt anyone in game canon and that JAYCE had stolen blitzcrank and its like ????? Do you even know who Stanwick is. Please just read their bios. Both of their bios. Viktor lies to clean up his own story and even before the lore rewrite he was the one who'd initiate violence by Invading Jayce's Lab And Blasting Him With Laserbeams. This guy's ingame kit requires you to kill 100 minions before evolving a weapon prototype. He has an ability called "death ray". You don't think that's funny? Your loss. (Related: a lot of able-bodied people treat viktor's arcane disability as something to patronize him over, and it can be really, really uncomfortable to see.)

#4 this is gonna seem minor compared to above but watching people try and vilify Jayce at every turn to make Viktor or other characters look better can be so unintentionally funny. They never pay attention to anything about his character, just spin a wheel of bad generic adjectives and go: "JAYCE is an out of touch gazillionaire SOCIAL CLIMBER queaking for STATUS who eats diamond dust, shits gold and hates lesbians; he also PISSED on my WIFE," whole time the guy is just minding his business, indentured for life thanks to vampiric 'patrons' making him swear fealty for project funding, canonically stated to have built a name making gadgets for the working class, doesn't even like socializing in Any Universe (and this is the exact thing him and viktor bond over), etc etc etc... this shit is embarrassing brother

#5 unironic googoo talk jaymel or melvik or anything that exists in the middle genuinely makes me roll my eyes. Sometimes I feel as though people watched the bomb scene and then immediately erased out how disrespectful and manipulative it was. I don't care for any of these pairings nor the implication that you have to 'make good with billionaires to reach ultimate peace uwu' that comes attached to most of their content. The TVshow being as centrist and corporate as it is explains why this exists, sure, but I feel so ?????? When I see people acting like viktor and mel would be best buddies, as if she isn't canonically the richest person in Piltover before we even have a timeskip and *Directly Responsible for enabling and profiting off much of the fuckshit going on in Zaun* lol. Where do you think that money came from? Seriously?? Come on. I cannot fathom how people can see Jayce's interactions with her as leading to any sort of positive outcome. They get 0 romantic buildup worth caring for and are boring as all hell. And the next one is less common but: whenever people try to fit her plotline into leagueverse I just, LOL. The ruling Medarda in league is a 70-something manlet white geezer. Jayce giopara is a fag and his entire bio was designed around viktor. The council plays no part in their story and they're far more interesting for it, thank fucking god.

does abigail have any strong opinions about the other members of the Van der Linde gang besides John and... i guess jack??

Yes, she does. You have to be around camp and near her though. Abigail has talked about feeling cut off from the gang and dealing with the "pity and disgust" towards her or just ignoring her completely outside of a greeting. Sadie is her best friend and has a few really meaningful conversations including encouraging her to continue on with her life. They are seen sitting together sometimes, but Sadie is gone from camp a lot. Sadie goes to visit her and John in the epilogue. She is always with Hosea and talks about him as a father figure and helps with Jack's education. He is one of the few people who believe in her as a moral woman and treats her as more than a mother while also encouraging her to leave the gang for her safety and Jack's. He also says she is the best thief, conwoman, and actress he's ever known. Arthur is a close friend of hers depending on how you play the game, but you can't play the game without them interacting a lot. She's very friendly with Charles and is one of the few who asks about his injured hand in chapter 1 and they become even closer in chapter 6. However, he isn't actually around her much until chapter 6. There seems to be evidence that suggests that Tilly is her other closest friend. They are seen together multiple times, she comes to Abigail for advice and kindly helps with Jack. Then there's Uncle who she considers family. The rest or hit or miss. She detests Micah and Micah harasses her more than he does any of the other women. Joe and Cleet harass her as well, but they harass the other women, too. She can't stand Miss Grimshaw because she tries to force her back into prostitution. She also makes nasty snide passive-aggressive comments. Grimshaw may be harsh with the other girls, but has never had a kind moment with Abigail.

Abigail seems to be one of the first people to lose faith in Dutch and is seemingly peeved with him in the intro of chapter 2. It also affects how John is treated throughout the game and by Dutch. Abigail becomes more and more disgusted with him as time goes on and gets annoyed when Dutch gives lectures telling him she "would rather focus on her son being fed". BUT is thankful he helped with Jack. However, Dutch and Abigail mutually dislike each other later in the game. He thinks she poisoned John. Lenny seems to be friendly with her based on how he greets her and Lenny loves Jack. Nothing more than that, unfortunately. Sean also tends to be pretty chill around her but they don't really interact. Sean does hang out with Jack. Mary-Beth never has a conversation in the game with her. Abigail is seen patting her back after Molly's death and I found a deleted scene of her asking about Tilly's whereabouts. Mary-Beth and Karen appear to be two of the people that gossip about her. So I think they "politely" tolerate each other. I think Mary-Beth has an issue with her. Karen is kinder to her though and has comforted her when Jack was taken and has defended her from John, but she has also some harsh words towards her. Kieran is tolerated. She didn't want him near her or Jack at first, but she did stop Jack from bullying him. She then was devastated when Jack was taken. He took the time to apologize to her directly. He seems to like Jack and wants to be friendly toward her. Molly seems to confide and trust her which is interesting considering how different they are from each other. I would have loved to have seen more from them. Josiah Trelawny sadly doesn't seem to do much more than greet her and Jack which I think is a missed opportunity. Javier doesn't do much except greet her, but Javier does include her as a traitor in his mind and has called them out. He doesn't seem to like her. In rdr 1, Abigail has been blunt that Bill and Javier made her uncomfortable. A friend of mine stated that Bill seems intimidated by her. I think Bill and Javier mentioned something about her being the rat but I could be wrong. Abigail mentions that she used to love hearing Rev. Swanson's bible readings and preachings. I think he's around her in chapter 6 more. I don't know how much Abigail would have wanted him around her while he was using drugs. Nothing else I can think of. Arthur says everyone - especially the women - finds Strauss creepy. Mr. Pearson seems to interact more with Jack than her. (That seems to be the general rule here.) I haven't seen or found anything other than mostly cheerful greetings. I think he might sit with her in chapter 6. Not sure.
