I certainly don’t need Thursdays to do a #flashback ! Skopje, the capital of Macedonia is definitely one of the oddest cities I’ve been to. The city is full of gigantic statues! My #couchsurfing host/friend Martin happens to be an archaeology major and is a certified tour guide of Skopje, so he told me the stories behind these statues. Why did their government built so many (unnecessary) statues? Well, corruption and all that Jazz ... Anyhow, I absolutely loved my 5 days in Skopje - some would say that’s way too much time for a tiny city like this, but I met some wonderful locals.
