Title: A long way down Authors: Nick Hornby Rate: ★★★✩✩ . . . Nick Hornby for me is the Robbie Williams of literature: he writes very mainstream books but they’re deep and meaningful at the same time. Reading his novels is always enjoyable and touching. ‘A long way down’ was no exception. A novel about 4 people trying to kill themselves seems dark and depressive but the author makes it fun without being condescending or shallow about the topic. Para mí, Nick Hornby es el Robbie Williams de la literatura: sus libros son súper comerciales pero al mismo tiempo son profundos y conmovedores. Siempre disfruto leer sus novelas porque me mueven mucho. ‘En picado’ no fue la excepción. Una novela sobre 4 personas intentando suicidarse parece oscura y desalentadora pero el autor la vuelve muy divertida sin ser condescendiente o superficial al tratar el tema. Title: Eat, Pray, Love Authors: Elizabeth Gilbert Rate: ★★★✩✩ . . I enjoyed the fact that @elizabeth_gilbert_writer doesn’t try to lecture us with her experiences. Reading this book felt like having a coffee and chatting about travel experiences with Liz. However, many parts of it are boring and irrelevant to the message of the book (no wonder why Julia Roberts didn’t go through them in the movie). In general terms, the memoir is full with insightful stories and reflections, making it a very inspiring book. . . . Disfruté el que @elizabeth_gilbert_writer no haya querido sermonearnos con sus experiencias. Al leer este libro sentí que me estaba tomando un café y platicando de sus viajes con la autora. Sin embargo, tiene partes muy aburridas e irrelevantes para el mensaje del libro (no me sorprende que quedaran fuera de la película con Julia Roberts). These books were my companions during March. They are very different to each others, but all very easy to read. This month I was able to read many different genres and that made me enjoy each of the readings very much.
