One of my favorite and most ironic thing i learn from the Astrea family is that the living legend of the family as well as the world Reid Astrea, despite being their ancestor, doesn’t have spouses or descendants. The one that continue the bloodline was Toska, which he has aboslutely no idea that glorious asshole was his brother. And Divine Protection Of the Sword Saint didnt exist before the eventually passing of Reid. Meaning Reid’s power and notoriety is so widespread and broken af that Od Lagna deadass ‘blessed’ the entire lineage of the Astrea of what could be the equivalent of ‘the power your deadbeat drunk uncle who come around 2 christmas to deliver one of the most offensive shit coming from his mouth’ so that the world could have another ‘Reid Astrea’

Jeez no wonder this family is fucked their model is a scoundrel who kill flying lizard for funsies

A bunch of headcanons for Re:Zero × My Little Pony crossover

Inspired by @ssametanass art

• Subaru got his cutie mark the moment, in his very first loop, he took Emilia's hand as he died, promising to save her. His mark is a pixelated heart (like a heart shaped health bar in a video game). It obviously represents his ability to reset, but also his ability to love and care

• Otto's cutie mark is red. He's an Earth Pony and often laments that nature didn't grant him horn or wings, because then he could have gotten out of many tough situations with fewer losses

• Earth Ponies are physically very strong compared to light, flying Pegasi and graceful Unicorns, but even as an Earth Pony, Subaru is laughably weak for the world of Re:Zero

• Theresia tried different activities for years hoping to get a 'peaceful' cutie mark, but she remained a blank flank until she picked up a sword and joined the war. Months passed before she could bring herself to look at it

• Echidna actually found a way to become an Alicorn, but she thought flying would be too much trouble with her poor physique, so she stayed a Unicorn

• Reinhard was one and only Astrea with his cutie mark being Dragon Sword itself

• if one is possessed by spirit then their cutie mark disappears. Scarfidna needed to hid the lack of mark but fortunately it wasn't hard since Ana was always covered with clothes

my rants

i just want to rant and put my thoughts here, be it shit or not, be it coherent or not i have not read EX4 - 6 too I find it interesting Pandora appeared to both of the heroines Emilia in the main series and Theresia in the EX series Both of them burden by the world to be something they didn’t want to be a sword saint and a witch, both love interest are the opposite too

In terms of title : Wilhelm a demon, Theresia a saint Subaru a hero, Emilia a witch both Wilhelm and Subaru working to dispel the "role" placed upon their love interest and yet, the key difference in how Wilhelm and Subaru approached how to solve this changes how theresia and emilia growth are like theresia who at first, didnt want it, managed to find the strength to take up the sword, and then fulfilling the role as a sword saint begrudingly, only for it taken away by Wilhelm, allowing theresia to finally be the person she wanted to be, just theresia, like how emilia wanted to be look at However, in doing so, Wilhelm didn't allow Theresia for her own efforts to show she is simply theresia, she simply didnt get the chance to come to terms in trying to be theresia and the sword saint. theresia was coddled by the people around her her brothers who allowed to sit back while they all fought, and dying one by one and her uncle too, yet no one blamed her, she was a young girl yes, the responsibilities, they knew she didnt want it yet despite it all, she wasnt able to pick up the sword till Wilhelm was in danger, and even when she did, Wilhelm took it from her and codded her too she lived a life where she didnt have to face her weakness, overcome them and came out a strong person, Wilhelm took the burden of all of her responsibilities as a sword saint and it was for naught too as we know, she picked her sword up again and went against the white whale, losing her blessing and perished against pandora. theresia did get it in the end, she lost the sword saint blessing like she wanted since she was young and became simply theresia yet, it resulted in her death she perished in battle without the blessing, the woman who picked her sword for her family died like her brothers did, trying to protect someone as a normal person

what differs emilia from theresia is that despite both being coddled by their family, puck in the end had no choice but to let go, entrusting her to the person that loved her the most, subaru and what differs from subaru from wilhelm is in arc 4, while wilhelm codded theresia and didnt allowed her to face her weakness / fears subaru pointed out all of emilia flaws and regardless, still loved her for it, with him trusting emilia to complete the trial. ( yes its the final loop stuff ). He trusted emilia to overcome her weakness and she did. this being the key difference emilia faced her weakness, accepting her role or title as the "witch" but even then, it wasnt stolen away, she still worked towards everyone calling her Emilia. she knew how the world saw her, she knew how hard it would be, but she persisted in making herself be known as emilia. she didnt get upset much at being called a witch, because it no longer affected her, and she will work her hardest at being known at just emilia Subaru didnt or wouldnt take that away from her, but working WITH her to overcome anything that troubles her instead of trying to shoulder everything himself that Wilhelm try to do. both woman are "fated" to be something special by the world while theresia managed to run away from it for a period, she in the end, was "punished" for it, if you want to it that way, her grandson, shouldering the burden of the sword saint with no one to coddle him like it did for her. reinhard suffering what theresia did, but reinhard accepted his "role" and his "fate", something theresia was able to escape from largely thanks to Wilhelm which made arc 5 sting even harder, because Wilhelm is aware of the role and how deep reinhard is in it. if only theresia knew. emilia, didnt run from it, she accepted her "role" and "fate" and actively fight against it with the help of people she loves. she wants to change it, she wants to prove to the world that she, is emilia and simply emilia. and perhaps, by fighting this fate, standing in front of it, instead of running, would reward her deeply in the end

re zero season 3 fanweek day 4! (I am so late-) IDay 4: Names / Childhood / “That’s right. I am a monster who hunts monsters.”

I love reinhard so i wanted to draw him! I tried to figure out colors since i don't use them that often lol I really like the concept,but it turned out a bit worse than what i imagined.

when i first watched re:zero i didn't bat an eye at what subaru said, but when i rewatched it i got so sad- poor reinhard got called a monster by his new friend :c The Astrea family dynamics are so interesting too!!
