also. thinking about how bland and wasted punchline's knight terrors story was. like literally we are in an online environment where everything has to be covered up by 18 layers of irony and everything gets turned into a joke and everyone is constantly told sincerity is dumb and that nothing is that 'that serious'. and punchline as this new gen terminally online kid is the perfect example of how this issue manifests... her whole thing is turning everything into a joke and that hurting people doesnt matter because of that. idk there's just such an obvious link to make there between her being an ironymaxpilled gen zer with no empathy for others + online environments where this behaviour gets radicalised into normalising total desensitisation to acts of violence and terror. would it have been that hard to write a compelling story with that set up of punchline as the bad guy (the angle of trying to make us symphathise with her was crazy btw.) who is irony poisoning people and that the lesson should be that caring and having empathy isnt cringe actually. that caring is good and healing for both yourself and the people around you...
