Little thing i wanted to explore with them. Btw, this has always been a thing in my aus, i just never did it except when playing things out in my head in specific circumstances. They can become organic in the main aus, but in order to do it, it requires a shit ton of energy to pull off which is why they don't do it.

Anyways, have this wholesome yet angsty doodle of Eclipse and Starstrike cuddling after reuniting.

I've said it before, but i do explore a lot of different potential scenarios for other paths that my aus can take. In this case, it required Eclipse to do this, which takes a huge amount of energy to pull off, and since his soul is damaged, it's much riskier too. Basically, here, him and Starstrike got separated and Eclipse was in a situation where he had to do it just to get back up. It's reversible, but very difficult to do so.

Talks about blood and injury below

It's the process of the soul completely fusing with the body, not just being in it anymore. With the animatronic bodies, the souls are in it, control it, and can feel it, but they are not part of the body itself. This process makes them one though, and it makes them fully organic beings. It takes a lot of energy to pull off. It's easier to become one than to separate though. Again, it is possible, but it's more difficult to do than initially fusing.

Starstrike can't become part of Eclipse again like this because his organic body is not able to handle them (plus the lack of space) so yes, they are completely separate from him in the art. Just in a smaller form (They can make themself look like whatever they want so yes, they can make themself smaller if they want).

When they're in their organic forms, yes they become completely living beings with the typical needs. Food, water, etc. They also have blood, usually colored the same color as their soul (So Eclipse's blood is orange). Their soul essence also gets mixed into it. They also tend to lose some height. Eclipse, in animatronic form is 8'1", but in organic form, he's about 6'1".

As for why it's more difficult to separate again, it's due to the amount of changes done to them, and the fact that the soul pretty much becomes their life blood. It's very difficult, and extremely risky to separate the soul and the body again (especially in Eclipse's case). It has to be done very carefully and meticulously. One small mistake can kill them or severely hurt them. Once separated, the soul reforms, and the body becomes animatronic again. Though the affected individual will probably be very tired for a while after that.

Just know that this will not happen in the actual au story itself at any point.

Here are 10 ways to improve 5D’s after its legacy decline starting in 2015. 2014 was the last year I truly enjoyed 5D’s, but from 2015 onwards, it went downhill for me. The fandom became toxic and heavily influenced by woke culture, leading to a lack of respect for 5D’s. By 2015, the show’s fanbase had dwindled, and the toxicity was exacerbated by ARC-V. I have strong negative feelings about 2015 for that reason. It’s disappointing how some fans can claim to support the show while being insensitive to others who have faced worse challenges. Shame on them.

Additionally, 5D’s lost its Western fandom between 2015 and 2019, partly due to DM getting over-catered to.

Here are 10 ways to address these issues and restore the show’s legacy:

Release a Complete Subtitled Version: Include the main series, movie, and OVAs.

Publish a Comic Book: Feature iconic scenes from the anime to celebrate its memorable moments.

Release Funko Pop Figures: Include the Signer Dragons, Shooting Star Dragon, and Quasar Dragon.

Create More Figures: Expand the range beyond just DM figures to include Yusei and other characters.

Provide More Legacy Support: Focus on original content rather than just remakes or pseudo-support.

Release a 5D’s Legendary Collection 2: A collection dedicated to the series.

Stop Blaming Production Issues: Take responsibility and address the issues directly.

Make More Signer Figures: Increase the variety of figures for the Signer characters.

Re-release Old Sets: Bring back older card sets like Starstrike Blast.

Create Binders: Offer themed binders for fans to organize their collections.

Atleast this way imo will fix the problem.

There was a tiny, but crucial detail about Starstrike that got overlooked in the first chapter of "I'm Sorry". That will be revealed in Star Trail's next chapter when i finally get back to it.

I caved and made Eclipse's design from this post. Though, this is with Starstrike in control. Eclipse is dead here. Haven't gotten around to drawing Corrupted Starstrike yet. I'm trying to decide on how i want their design to look.

Note: this is not canon to the RE AU, and will not become canon. Just a very angsty concept that my brain randomly came up with while i was laying down a couple nights ago. (Read linked post for context)

I tried keeping the characters' color palettes unique from eachother when i made them, but looking through my refs to make sure i had the right colors since i hadn't drawn most of the other characters in a long while, i came to the realization that Nova's and Badger's pants used the same colors, so that's why there are two patches that look the same, but they are meant to be from both Badger and Nova. (Lower patch from Nova, higher patch from Badger)

oh noooo, the idea of the astrals looking at Starstrike and being like 'hey bud come with us! 8D' meanwhile starstrike is hiding behind Eclipse because excuse you, they chose THIS life actually, they don't want to go with some space stars!

Love myself some random angst that decides to pop up into probably the saddest possible ending to the RE AU that i have come up with.

Fortunately, this will not become canon to it.

Warnings: corruption, death, grief, and a few spoilers for canon stuff.

One thing to note is that Starstrike can also leave Eclipse's body at any time, and a battery can be used in their place to power Eclipse, they just ultimately choose to stay unless something happens that removes them forcefully, or they absolutely have to for any reason.

I have not yet gotten very far into the au, writing wise, but i want to quickly establish that Eclipse and Starstrike get extremely close as it goes on, and i am gradually working towards that as i write too.

In this instance, it would be after or during the Creator Arc (which i am still debating on adding. No solid decision on that yet, tho i made Darkstrike and it'd be a shame if they went to waste).

Quick setup for the scenario: A war between positive and negative forces had started, so the Astrals vs Dark Astrals, and the RE Fam is caught in the middle of it thanks to having possession of Starstrike. For the fam's safety, Starstrike had left them so Eclipse could get them all to somewhere safer. Things are in shambles, technology barely functions, if at all, and they are in a rush to get out of the dimension, however even they suffered some damage. Some worse than others. Though, also, without Starstrike, they're extremely vulnerable. Dark forces are winning, Astrals are dying, and negative star power is beginning to overwhelm the positive, and they are all feeling the effects. It's like wither sickness from the Witherstorm. Living beings dropping like flies. The animatronics are surviving for longer, but even they are falling weak and dying.

The fam are among the last survivors because they have been integrated with features to help them withstand star power, however it isn't starproof. The weaker ones are dying first, so Dusk and Nova are among the first to pass. Then one of the twins, shortly followed by his brother. Lunar next, and Moon is too weak by now to keep going with rebuilding an escape portal. Resources were short in supply, and finding ones in good enough condition to keep a portal stable long enough for them to get through were near impossible and chances were dwindling at an alarming rate. Eclipse was still somewhat strong enough, and he kept trying desperately to get what they needed, but keeps falling short. Despite also being a weakened being, because he had Starstrike in him for so long, he had the strongest resistance to the dark star power around them. That is why and how he kept going.

Unfortunately, as his last remaining family members' days grew shorter and shorter, he quit venturing out so he could spend their last days with them. Moon was first to pass, then Sun soon after, which left Eclipse as the sole survivor. Not just of the family, but of every non-star being.

Every being that was not raw star power based is dead. The positive star power that was left was quickly being smothered by the dark star power.

After everyone else was dead, and in a vague, desperate hope that Starstrike might still be fighting, Eclipse abandoned the portal project completely. He took a few things from his family members' clothes and stitched them into his own clothes. In his ventures, his clothes had gotten pretty torn up. He used pieces of their clothes to patch them up as a way to fix them, but also still take his family with him. He took Lunar's hat, which was also torn up because that hat was a special comfort to him. He patched it up with pieces of the Blood Twins' hats and Moon's. He also sewed Moon's hat's bell to the tip along with the original crescent. He wears the hat over his rays, and he set off to try finding Starstrike before he got too weak to walk.

The battle was lost, unfortunately. Starstrike was not dead, but corrupted. The negative power, plus trying to fight Darkstrike and every other negative being alone overwhelmed them. They were also the last positive star being in the way, but now, even they are participating in the destruction of the universe. The astrals were all dead by now, thanks to Creator's tampering which helped give the dark star entities the advantage. See, the dark entities didn't want to kill Starstrike. They were far too valuable to them. To kill them would put all that extra power they had to waste.

Eclipse made it as far as the forest he first woke up in. Same spot too before he got too weak and collapsed.

There was so much negative energy now that any kind of positive energy would stick out like a sore thumb. And Eclipse was the final catalyst of positive star power left. He had so much in him thanks to Starstrike's presence within him for so long, but even it is being snuffed out. Still resisting, but very much losing the fight, hence why Eclipse is getting so weak and dying too. Starstrike got wind of it, and they go to investigate. The other negative entities moved on. Their job was basically done here.

Starstrike may have been corrupted, but their bond with Eclipse was not. Seeing him like he was made something spark within them that snapped them out of their corrupted state, sorta. Their consciousness returned.

Since Starstrike is a positive star being, the negative star power they are corrupted with is still causing them pain. Pain that they had ignored till this point. Even they are dying, but it's much harder to kill them since their positive power is a lot more concentrated. It's still resisting too, but the dark star power had overtaken it, and masked it.

Going near Eclipse purified them to an extent thanks to the positive energy he still had left. Eclipse had long since lost consciousness, and Starstrike could feel his soul withering away. They took the time to remove his battery to make space for them again, and re-entered his body. First thing they do is enter his headspace.

His soul is lying on the ground, glow dim, and being overtaken by a dark substance that was sucking the life out of him. They go over and can see that, even in sleep, Eclipse is in pain, and in more ways than one. Pain from the negative energy, and pain from the immense grief for his lost family. Starstrike realizes they failed them. (Not their fault ofc, they tried their best for as long as they could)

They couldn't save Eclipse's life though. Not in a dying dimension like theirs now is. They can see white cracks along his whole body (Stage 4, see my soul info post if you don't know what this means in my aus, linked in pinned post) and they're spreading. The most they could do now is make his death as painless as possible.

They banish the negative energy from him, and sit close to him, hand on his back gently while they start sobbing and apologizing profusely for failing him so badly. Eclipse could not respond, but he was still aware, and had many things he wanted to tell them to ease their guilt. He knows they did their best, and that's all they could do.

Starstrike stayed with Eclipse until his soul shattered, and they broke down entirely, sitting in the now black void of Eclipse's headspace. The clouds of the mindscape were already fading when they arrived, and disappeared entirely once Eclipse died. They were there sobbing and crying out for hours.

When they tired themself out to the point of composure again, there was something left behind. Eclipse's soul bind. It no longer had a glow, and was broken into 3 pieces. They take it, and hold the pieces close to their chest, wanting to cry again, but they are too tired to shed any more tears.

Having the power of creation helped to an extent, but they are, once again too tired and also still too corrupted to fully fix it. They created a kind of necklace for it, and even manifested it into a real object. In Eclipse's body, they sit up and lean back against the tree that Eclipse had collapsed beside. They did not change the colors to their own. They keep Eclipse's colors, seeing the patchwork of his pants and ruffles, the pieces of their family's clothes stitched onto his with great care, carrying those lost ones with him. The hat over his rays, fitted with similar patches for the same reason. In Eclipse's hand, they clutch what they made his soul bind into, opening it, and looking down at their work. The sun part of it and the rays were made of tigers eye. The crescent moon part is made of black onyx. The cracks that separated the pieces are still visible but they are, in a way, glued back together. Their final creation.

They grasp the necklace part, and put it around their neck, placing their hands over the pendant, quietly waiting for their end.

They know they're capable of resetting the universe, but that requires the power of creation, and a lot of it. There is not enough left now. All there is now, is the power of destruction and decay, which they will succumb to eventually as well.

I might draw designs for these versions of Starstrike and Eclipse later, but there is that. Again, this will not be how it canonically ends. Ngl tho, i like the idea of physical versions of the soul binds being various different precious stones, so i may keep that in mind.

Now that Nexus' new body has been revealed, I can finally share this thing that i made a short while ago. And with recent lore developments, i can apply those too, which is nice, even though this was made before all of the wither shard stuff came out, but it helps it make sense.

When Nexus was revealed, i already planned to repurpose the design i made of him for the RE AU as a new character. I haven't settled on a name for them quite yet, but i have a few ideas for names. (Leaning towards "Darkstrike" to compliment Starstrike's name tho)

This character is meant to be Starstrike's opposite. A being made of negative star energy.

They were made by the Creator, who got his hands on a fragment of a wither shard, and gathered negative star energy as well.

The reason the RE Universe survived The Cull is because their creator was not part of the council, but he was doing his own research on the side. He was fascinated by Starstrike and he gathered the negative star energy that they emitted. He found out about wither shards as well, and managed to get hold of a fragment of one. Combining that with the negative star energy and some soul energy created this Dark Star, as i will call them. Kinda like a lesser version of a Wither Storm.

This does open the possibility of a new arc after the ones i planned out.

Starstrike releases very little star energy, which in turn makes very small amounts of negative star energy. It spikes when they use their abilities, of course, which isn't often, so it'd be a long while before this character comes into existence. Not too much to worry about at the moment.
