Because apparently this account is now for random movie rambles as I rewatch films for the 100th time-

A watch through of Princess and the Frog:

Anyone else think it is hella suspicious that someone wanted that sugar mill only after she wanted to buy it?

- After the movie was done, it was explained to me by friends that this is a common scam to squeeze more money, especially targeted against POC potential buyers. No one else was bidding, they just wanted more money. My child brain just didn’t fit that together the first couple watch throughs- I mean, they clearly still had it for sale a long time later in order to be threatened at the end of the film… assholes.

Gathering a group of travelers by appealing to thier dreams is a very American story, Ala Wizard of Oz- the idea of the individual goals. This is Naveen, Tiana, and Louis. But then comes Ray, who is just trying to be helpful. That feels more old world, and he leads them to the old world magic- the woman of power in the wilderness. :)

Lawrence was frightened by the idea of a controlling wife, while Naveen was impressed with a well thrown book, and Tiana had dreams that included showing all the boys how it’s done. And her friend is very commandeering, and the object of all the men. There’s a theme of strong women and respect for them here- which makes sense. 1920s fairytales are just out of the Victorian era and the invention of the fairy godmother. And here comes Mama Odie. She even has the mother title.

Naveen and Tiana are so perfect for eachother. Beyond him being ok with her ambition and hustle, she needs his people skills for her resteraunt- you need a front man 😁

First time I can think of in a Disney film that an outside perspective for love song had thier own love to sing about 💘

Every good char in this movie is immediately willing to help someone out, even when- especially when- it inconveniences them. That is how you let your characters be very strong characters, even occasionally overwhelming other characters, and still be good people and likeable. This is how we bond with Lotti, and then Naveen, despite them having domineering personalities.

The way Naveen admires things about Tiana even before he likes her- then when he loves her, the way his face lights up as he watches her.

Anyone else think froggy Naveen is based a little on John Bob from Swan Princess? Those leg spots look familiar is all I am saying.

Most important line- “He didn’t get what he wanted, but he had what he needed” was given to her by her mother, who also introduced her to the upper class of town. He mother was so important to this story.

The marrying of Lotty is very “old chivalry” anything for my lady, while the tale itself is very peasant tale of pulling together to get through. As many American tales do, you gotta get ALL the tropes in there. 🪄

Ray is such a well designed character. He is wise, and has common sense, and allies and skills, and LIGHT to oppose the shadows- and they balance it by making him small and fragile. Is… is he the wizard of the party? Not nessisarily in the DND way that is very academically type, but in the LOTR classic fantasy way, that makes one member of the group to be the big support to everyone else, but can also be fridged when needed. 😅🥲 Brings wisdom and all else you need but destined to go out ina blaze of glory???

Happy that his parents seemed to be- “finally someone took him in hand” and could care less about her social position.

First time this white girl heard Neo was sitting through the credits of this film in the theaters. Still love his music. 🎶

requesting an aonung x reader 🤭 i’m sorry if it’s too detailed i just want to make sure what i’m saying isn’t confusing! could it be like major fluff and really sweet? i know aonung is the most loving behind the armor he wears

so we all know aonung’s an asshole. for some reason i imagine he’s actually a biggg softie but he sees showing his affection as embarrassing because he himself is self conscious, thinks you deserve better and has his walls up.

he’s pretty much always mean to you in hopes that you’ll give up your efforts to be with him and find a mate who actually deserves you.

reader is bothering ao’nung one morning, asking him to hang out with her, basically a date. he denies the first attempt so she changes the activity they would be doing and keeps offering more things to do hoping he’ll say yes to at least one of them. she’s visibly excited and hopeful that he will agree.

aonung was previously already frustrated for other reasons and he ended up taking it out on you, yelling and speaking to you hurtfully but he doesn’t actually mean it. (unknown to you). you stand there shocked and for a second his eyes soften as he realized he was reallyyy harsh with this one and may have taken it too far. before he can even say anything her lip trembles and her eyes instantly well with tears, she truly looks heartbroken and takes a step back from him.

at this point in time he realizes he’s really fucked up with this one and it’s almost like a switch flips, he’s able to bring his walls down and sincerely apologize and actually express his love for you/tells you how beautiful you are. he curses himself for hurting you to this point, mans is basically on his knees begging for forgiveness because his intention was never to make you cry(if you actually make him beg on his knees i would have zero complaints 😋). it’s a side you’ve never seen before and you didn’t even think he had it in him!

I hope this makes sense i’m sorry if it doesn’t 😭 i have the idea but i love your writing and know you can bring it to life!!

With hopping steps you pathed over to Ao'nungs marui. In one hand you held a few shells and small beads, which you tried not to crush. A happy smile enhanced the positive aura you created around yourself.

"Ao', are you there?" you asked before entering the marui. 'Shit', he thought as he heard your voice, 'the last thing I need now.'

He didn't answer. Instead, he just sighed, mentally preparing himself for the ray of sunlight you were.

"Ao'?"

One of your hands pushed the curtains away and and you entered, still wearing your happy smile.

"I'm busy."

From the sound of his voice you could tell that he was not in a good mood, you could probably even tell why.

He sat in his rather dark home, fixing his fishing net without even looking up to greet you.

You came closer to him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

Ao'nung still just sat there in silence, as if you weren't even there.

"Why did your father and you fight this time, hm?" By now your voice was a bit more calm, not as excited as before.

He still didn't physically react but only continued patching up the holes in his net.

"You know me too well..."

"Of course I do, you're the most important person in my life."

Your answer reminded him of why he didn't look up to you;

It hurt.

You were the sweetest soul he had ever met. You deserved the entire planet and every star in the sky. All he desired was for you to always keep that beautiful smile. But mostly, he wanted you to find a worthy mate.

In his eyes, he was anything but that. He would be olo'eyktan one day, that was true, but he had always been certain that he was not enough and he would never be.

Every time he treated someone in a bad way or laughed at someone, every time he misbehaved and refused to obey his parents he had a hard time sleeping the following night, knowing that the right mate for you would never do that.

He was not the right one.

And yet you had waited for him all your life.

"The usual. It's always the same..." he mumbled, tying the loose ends of his net with a bit more force now before tossing it into a corner and covering his face with both hands.

"I'm sorry to hear that." The hand you had on his shoulder gently caressed his skin a few times before he pulled away from your touch.

"Maybe this will cheer you up. Look, I found these, I thought we could sit down together and make bracelets for each other?"

You opened your other hand and showed him the shells, but he didn't even look.

"i said I'm busy. I don't have time for such childish things."

His words felt like a needle stinging your chest, but you tried to stayed as positive as possible.

"Oh, uh, okay... Well, we haven't been out swimming lately, would you like to accompany me? We could swim to the old cave, we haven't been there for a long time."

His hands sank down from his face and he supported his elbows on his knees.

"I'm sure Tsireya and Roxto would like to go with you."

'This is our spot...' you thought, feeling his bad mood draining your positive energy slowly but surely.

"That's not the same, Ao', I want to go with you!"

Instead of answering, he only took a deep breath.

You crouched down in front of him, resting both of yout hands on his thighs.

"What about tonight, would you like to eat with me? I'll prepare your favourite food and afterwards we can go look at the stars and-"

"Why can't you just accept a no?! I don't have time for you, and mostly I don't want to spend my time with you! Stop clinging to me like I'm your mate cause I'll never be!"

Your heart shattered at his words. It felt like it sprung into thousands of pieces.

It was nothing new that he avoided you, he had been doing that lately, but what he just said ripped your insides apart.

Ao'nung watched you standing there, frozen in place. It took a good while until your body reacted. Tears pricked in the corners of your eyes, blurring your vision before they rolled down your cheeks.

As you sniffled and started to sob you blinked a few times, averted your watery eyes from him and faced the ground.

Everything you hab ever wanted vanished before your eyes. In pain, you balled your fists, crushing the shells you had collected in your hand. They crumbled onto the ground like your dreams of a life with Ao'nung as your mate. He had made it clear, he didn't want to be with you.

Ao'nung felt his own heart break at your reaction. Instant regret overwhelmed him as he watched you dying inside.

"Fuck, I-" he hated himself for making you so miserable.

"I didn't mean to-"  He got up at reach out to you with softened eyes. If only he could turn back time.

You flinched at his touch and immediately withdrew, taking a step back. Again he tried to reach out to you but you only shook your head in disbelief. There was no way he just said that you.

All your life you had turned down the strongest and bravest warriors, the smartest and most good-looking clan members, no matter how hard they would try to make them yours. You loved Ao'nung and that had been for as long as you could think.

The chief's son looked up to you with such soft eyes, he looked so vulnerable and easy to crush and you did.

"I've been waiting all my life just for you. No matter how much you messed up I stayed by your side... But I guess I'm not good enough for the future clan leader."

Your voice was merely a whisper but these words burned themselves into his heart. Ao'nungs own eyes started to water and he held your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours to keep you from running away.

Your empty expression didn't even change as he did the unthinkable and knelt down in front of you, holding your hand and pressing it to his cheek  as if his life depended on it.

"No, you're wrong! I am the one who isn't good enough! You deserve more than me. You deserve everything this planet has to offer. You're the most beautiful and wonderful soul on Pandora, you're the most sacred thing to me, not even Eywa can compare to that."

You looked down at him, still completely disappointed and hurt by how he had adressed your date ideas earlier.

His lips trembled in panic. He couldn't lose you, that was not an option.

Ao'nung looked pathetically miserable all huddled up at your feet while clinging onto your hand for his life.

"L-let's go collect some shells, make some pretty bracelets for each other and go to our spot, yes? Just you and me, and then, let's get something to eat and watch the stars after the eclipse. Just the two of us, okay? Please, (Y/N)... let us spend the entire day together, we can to whatever you want."

You sobbed at his words, slowly agreeing with a soft nod. Until you did, Ao'nung held his breath in angst, hoping you would accept.

As you did, he got up and his hands fell around your neck instantly.

"Say, Ao'nung..?"

He pressed you against himself, holding your head against the crook of his neck as carefully as he could.

"What is it?" he asked, by now sobbing himself lightly.

"Do you really mean that? Do you think you're not good enough?"

You could feel his shaky breath around your ear as he spoke again.

"You're perfect. You deserve a perfect mate."

"I've made my choice a long time ago." Both your arms sneaked around his waist as you pressed yourself against him, inhaling his scent deeply.

"Are you sure about-"

"Ao'. I don't want anyone else."

He sighed at your words, wondering what you could possibly like about him so much.

"I just want you to live a happy, perfect life. You mean so much to me, I couldn't stand to see you unhappy."

At his words, a smile slowly made its way back to your face. Withdrawing a bit from the hug, you faced him, looking right into his puffy red eyes.

"Then stay with me, forever. That's all I need to be happy."

First of all Kate😭. Sweet Kate I just want to hug her and tell her all is going to be well because wow, the amount of shit that she had to endure with her ex is absolutely heartbreaking. Some of the things you mentioned especially when it was about her size and him attacking her about these things had me :”(. It made me tear up a bit and I’m so happy that she found a partner in Ray who believed she was absolutely perfect regardless of her size. I know there were also so many other horrible things that he who shall not be named did to her but this really resonated and also her retail therapy coping mechanism hoo boi. Just the amount of strength she had to escape multiple times even if the first attempts didn’t pan out is just amazing and it was a bit heartbreaking when she realized that she would actually be okay with dying as long if that meant she didn’t have to go back and I just 🥺. Also I chuckled but also wept a little when even though she was half passed out she was ready to molly wop Ray with a candle holder.

Okay okay now Ray I just 😩😩I would like to know all of the folks you were thinking about when creating him because I was just like 👀👀👀 where, who , how, and can I get one?  His initial description had me like 🤔 🤔 🤔 and I lowkey thought of a person that I scribbled on the page but that’s neither here nor there. Such a grump with a heart of gold and his back story and his lost loved again made me go 🥺🥺 (you sure know how to make hearts wabble don’t you!). Everything about him is just so good and lovely even with his shield. And his inner thoughts and monologues when he meets Kate and such are so funny and I love how that contrasts with his outer sternness. The way he wants to protect Kate even though he is just meeting her, and the way he gets angry at her for putting herself in danger it’s just everything maam. And the little things of moving her shoes for her, cooking for her how angry he gets when he learns of her abuse I just it’s too much for my soft sooooul. But also not him leaving his rifle both times when it was needed like sir get it together lol.

Now both of them!!!! I just they were meant for each other. The hurt they both suffered the way they just match yet fit with each other just like a puzzle piece. I just love love love the age gap trope you know that ahah and just the way he wanted to protect her and the way she wanted to help soothe his hurt even if she didn’t know what it was and it was everything Plex🥺🥺🥺 And the smut girl the smut, it was so sweet and intense and the way they were basically enamored with each other from the beginning and how he was like ‘no I’ll only touch you if you verbally say it’ CONSENT KING is what Kate deserves and needs and he gave it to her and soooobbs I just love how it flowed so well with the story like it wasn’t the main thing but it tied the pieces up so well a nice little treat that accentuated an already interesting story😭😭🥺 Then the I love you’s!!! Crying, sobbing, screaming. OH ALSO WHEN SHE WAS LIKE YOUR EYES ARE BROWN and he was like :D? I laughed and thought it was so cute. I love the funny moments that were sprinkled in between even with the circumstances!

Okay but wait! We can’t forget the good girl Stella!!! I love her!! German Shepherds are one my faves and everytime she appeared I was like give her pats 🤩🤩. And her wiggle and waggles haha I got so excited and how she just loved Kate from the get go. Doggo sensed that she needed protecting and love and I just 🥺🥺 But then when Stella got injured and then the sudden cliff hanger I gasped and was like oh shit John Wick part 5 let me throw hands to???? Honestly the end of chapter 12 and then chapter 13 had me like ahah here it is the other shoe dropping things were going to well and was just waiting for stuff to pop off. And they sure did :”D

Oh and finally he who shan’t be name. fuck him the way I way I cheered at his ending like yea eat his ass up we love to see it that’s all that shall be said.

The characterization, the way folks reacted to things that made sense (ex Kate’s reaction to the gunshot and her trauma), the description of just everything?? From the environment to the emotions that hurt me at times ahaha. The relationship these two (three if you count Stella because she is family of course) built in 140 pages was amazing and just sweet and the way they were protective and supportive of each other in their own ways even though they had just met just had me like🥺🥺😭 because then they just absolutely melted for each other (it do be cold in the mountains) no matter the walls they had up to protect them

Thank you so much, Han!!! I’m glad I had two days off work, but they went by so fast I feel I barely got anything done! Though my birthday is in a couple weeks weeks, and my mom and sister asked me if I wanted to go out to eat. I haven’t eaten in a restaurant since December 2019! I’m sorry that it took me so long to get it, though, you would not believe —”

Jess shuts you up with a kiss. He cradles the back of your head with his free hand, his lips molding with yours and kissing yours sweetly. You hum contently against him, scooting on the couch and towards his lap. He sets the book down and the present wrapping paper, making room for you. You softly climb into his lap, cupping both sides of his face. You pull away slightly, pecking his lips and smiling as you do so. Jess mirrors your smile, hugging you tightly against him and attacking your neck with kisses. You giggle and yelp, weakly fighting against Jess, not really wanting to him to stop. He pulls away after a few moments, resting his hands on your thighs.

“Thank you, sweetheart,” he says. “Of course, Jesse,” you beam.

“I have gifts for you, too,” he says. “Oh, plural?” you raise your brows. Jess nods, reaching down to the side of the couch and picking up one of them. “I hope you like this one. He pushes her hand off of him, and looks in the mirror again while he fixes his suit. “I’m nervous.”

“Why?”

He takes a deep calming breath, before looking at his mom, instead of her reflection. “Because, she agreed to go to the dance with me.”

“I’m not following.”

“I’m still convinced she’s going to marry me. I just don’t…when we ‘broke up’ because that idiot Jonathan pushed me into her, and everyone said we kissed. And by the way I stand behind the fact I did not. It was more our noses bumped but you know how kids are.”

“We are.”

“Baby, you’re going to a middle school dance. Have fun. That kid will dance with you, unlike your dad. He wants to act like he’s too cool. Why are you putting so much pressure on this dance?”

“I really like him, but,” she sighs, looking over to that baby doll that she hadn’t played with in years. “I’m afraid…I don’t want to rush it because…because I…well, I like my necklace,” Birdie Mae gives a solid nod, giving her necklace a few taps.

“I’m not ready to give my necklace away just yet.”

“Well, then don’t. There’s no timeline that says when you do or do not get married. Boppy and Buzzy aren’t married to each other. But Buzzy and Gimma are married. Each relationship is different and beautiful. Your dad and I waited almost seven years to get married. But I loved him just as much being his girlfriend and then his fiancé. I always wanted babies with him, but we got to spend so much time being us before we got you. Don’t try to put your relationship in a box. Just be Birdie Mae.”

“And Raiden Carter.”

“And you can’t date anyways,” Beau tells her. His eyes looking at his watch. “Thirty,” Arleigh scolds him, so Beau changes his mind, “Twenty-five and then you can date. But you may ruin something before it starts if you don’t hurry. We’re gonna be late.”

“I don’t want to give you my necklace.”

Raiden laughs throwing his head back. “Okay. Don’t give it back then. It’s not that serious.”

“It is to me. Would you…I mean…I’d like it if you…just wait for me.”

Raiden’s crystal blue eyes look over Birdie Mae’s face, unsure of what she’s asking. “I don’t want to give it to you, yet. Maybe eventually.”

“Is that a promise? I am going to marry you,” Birdie Mae’s face falls flat and she lets out a groan. “I think we deserve a do over.”

“For what?”

“I want you to be my first kiss. A proper one. Lips to lips. With a promise, that I will wait on you. All you got to do, is tell me you’re ready.”

“And I’m Story Baizen’s kid. I’ve looked at the stars, wished on them, and,” his words stop when Birdie Mae leans for giving his lips just the tiniest kiss, that he swears could make him fly.

You always found his presence so delightful, as it never failed to put your soul and mind at ease. Like a soft ray of sunshine peeking through your window and finding its way to your face, so warm, so snug.  It’s ironic how half the time you converse in all sorts of topics with Yuji and lose focus on the movie playing in the background; the reason you two are snuggling next to each other on the cozy couch in the first place. “Did you ever have anyone before me?” you voiced, now looking up at him and admiring his charming features.

“Like.. A girlfriend or something?” he asked, to which you gave him a slight nod.

“Oh, yeah. I had girlfriends before, but it wasn’t much if I’m being honest haha” he continued, slightly shifting in his seat, “sure, they were cute and all but it didn’t last too long.”

He paused for a second, only to plant a small kiss on your forehead, “none of them compare to you in any way.”

Snuggling closer to him, you chuckled and returned back the kiss. After a minute he asked you the same question.

“What about you?”

That smile on your face from a moment ago slowly started to fade as you remembered your boyfriend before you met the loving, good-natured soul that is Yuji.

“Yeah, I had a boyfriend before.” You paused, now staring at the end credits from the TV screen in front of you.

Noticing the slight change of atmosphere he gently asked, “Do.. you feel like talking about it?”

“It’s ok. He is.. Pretty quiet and can come off as rather shy. But he’s really nice and with a gentle temper. People often picked on him, but despite that he always remained kind-hearted.” You pause again, eyes still fixated on the screen, “well, he was like that when we hung out, I don’t know how he is now…”

“You’re not in any contact anymore or..?”

“Oh it’s not that! It’s just.. We never even said goodbye to each other. He just disappeared one day out of the blue. We were pretty close too, and rarely had any fights… I wonder, maybe he got tired of me but didn’t know how to say it?”

He looked at you with saddened expression, “That’s… horrible. What was his name?”

“Yoshino Junpei.”

And just like that, he felt the most bone-chilling feeling run through his spine, as if he saw the most gruesome scene unveil in front of him. Did he hear that right? This has to be some kind of a sick joke, right?

“Don’t worry about it though, that’s all in the past I guess.” You flashed him a small smile before looking up, only to see his petrified expression.

“Hey.. Yuji?” you asked with a puzzled face, but he didn’t hear anything. It was like he was alone in the room, in the darkness with all the walls coming closer and closer to him, a constricting feeling causing him to lose breath.

“What’s the matter?” you took his hand and gave him a worried look, to which he snapped out of his trance for a moment. His now pale face was covered by a cold sweat as he stared at you with those shaken brown orbs. Not a single sentence was able to form.

“Please talk to me.” You anxiously whispered to him, giving his hand a small squeeze.

What was he supposed to do? What could he possibly say? What could he possibly say to not cause you agony upon telling the truth you desired? Junpei was oh so dear to him even though they knew each other shortly, he couldn’t even imagine how horrific it would be for you to find out what really happened regarding your missing ex-boyfriend. It was a swirl of dire, sickening emotions. It’s like he felt the weight of suffocating dread and guilt from that day all over again.

But you, most of all people in this world needed to hear what had actually happened. That he didn’t escape from you or isolate, but rather he couldn’t return to you. And that bloodcurdling, unreal truth was about to be laid before you by Yuji himself.

It all started when Kuroo and you dragged Kenma out to the carnival and Kuroo won tickets to a three night four day trip to the outskirts of town. He thought it was a good idea to give it to the both of you since ‘it’ll only make him feel more single than he already is’ (he’s mine back off. Ok anyways). Now the only reason Kenma agreed was because of the wifi. I’m sorry but he has his priorities set there’s nothing we can do about it. What he didn’t sign up for was a hike you somehow managed to drag him to, kudos to you honestly. Needless to say the mountain was in its full glory during spring. The flowers bloomed amids the pleasant rays of the sun that encompassed the area. The cool breeze grazed your skin; it blended perfectly with the heat. The hike was not easy for sure, but the fruits it bore were worth it, at least that's what all the locals said. You were ecstatic. Kenma? Not so much. He kept pouting and groaning. Even Though, it was hilariously cute, his complaints did start to bug you a little.

“This is my life now. I have climbed this hill and now I will die upon it.” He said with a sigh. He was tricked. The wifi was only available at the resort and you’d forced him to leave all his gadgets back in the room. Misery was upon him. How could he ever survive without it. Yes he has you but he left his children, and for hours now, it's utterly unacceptable.

He genuinely likes Hanna and he didn't want to hurt her and then he sees how it all escalated and she wanted to change schools and god he must have felt terrible.

I never ever want to see Hanna or Lilly cry ever again. She's a ray of sunshine and she should only ever be happy. This scene broke me.

this just speaks so much to Matteo and why he doesn't have any contact with his dad in s3. His father just fucks off 'cause he can't deal with his mentally ill wife and Matteo, of course, doesn't want to leave his mom alone in her state so he is, at his age of 16, forced to take care of his mom alone. 

Also I wish certain locations from s1 would make an appearance in s2 and s3 as well. This looked so nice.

Compliments from girls you don’t know are like, so pure and emo making. I’m in line at Chipotle and at the last stop (salsa, sour cream, cheese, etc). And this girl (who I noticed earlier in the line was super pretty), says hi and then instead of taking my order says, “you look really beautiful” to my frizzy-haired, just worked 8 hours, scrubs-wearing ass. 😭 Gurl. I was so taken by surprise I couldn’t gather myself to tell her how pretty she was, which I feel really bad about because she was more deserving of hearing that than I was. (I just looked in the mirror and now I’m like “does she pick random ppl to say that to?” my hair looks nast.)

I was at Chipotle because Boss 2 took me there. After the two hygienists left (the other assistant has been sick all week) he goes “Are you hungry? I’m starving. Wanna go to Chipotle?” I told him I still had to finish the notes for today and he’s like “Oh don’t worry, I’ll do the notes tonight.” So we walked there and ate and he paid before I had a chance as he was ahead of me in the line (”That’s what bosses are for” when I said thank you).

Not to be blowing smoke up my own ass or anything, but there is a possibility that he might, maybe, have a small crush on me... I only say this because on Tuesday as I was getting ready to leave and sat across from him to ask if he wanted me to do anything else before heading out he was like “What’s on your mind?” in a way that was like..just out of curiosity? Like I don’t think I was indicating that there was something on my mind anyway... so I was like “oh I’m just tired, I really didn’t sleep well last night” and he goes again, “oh really, what’s on your mind?” which, idk, it just made something ping that day. It was kind of, out of the ordinary. idk. And apparently the other week he raved to Boss1 about how good some x-rays I took were *shrug emoticon*

Also yesterday, lol, this lady in her early 40s, happily married with 2 kids and super nice, asks Boss1 at the end of her appointment, “Are you single? ‘Cause you’re super cute” 😂 “I don’t mean to patronize you” lmao. And he was like “I have a girlfriend but my business partner is single.” idk. It’s probably nothing but honestly that “what’s on your mind” bit and just little things make me think... maybe and “be aware”. idk how I would feel about tbh.
