Still thinking bout fashion of “Slam fam” ’s members
Tumblr media
“Slam fam” or full name “The Slam family“ , named by Marty. It’s the name of temporary group of wrestlers whose have feud with mafia in Canada(Montreal)& Mr.Hunter& Jules(hunter’a right-hand man) and his another mafia henchmen(bodyguards and hitman). Actually there has more member than this but they’re in another wrestling company(not in WWF together), such as Gino Brito (the real big bro)/ Jimmy Garvin/ Frenchy Martin(whose retired and give Jimmy Hart to be Dino’s manager instead)
Most of them are French-Canadian wrestlers, but some of them aren’t, but still have relate as friends in wrestling career and also has feud with mafia industry (by chance) too
🔸Mike has never wrestle in Canada(or has ever, but in very short time) he doesn’t close with wrestlers in Montreal that much. But he has ever had a few matches with Ronnie and Jimmy at NWA before (in Varsity club role). Barry Windham has ever tag team with Ronnie many times and be good friend of Dino, so Barry told Ronnie to take care of Mike when goes back to WWF as IRS. 🔸Jacques invites Mike to motorbike racing event when WWF has tour in Montreal, and it’s the beginning of the feud between him and mafia gang that making fun of wrestlers in WWF.
🔸Faren has never wrestle in Montreal too but Ailani, his Father has ever famous here by tagteam with Rougeau’s dad and uncle. So, when Faren debut at WWF and saw Rougeau brothers, they can get closed easily especially Raymond whose interested in motorbike/racing and go to motorbike racing event too. Faren has a feud with Jules, mr.Hunter’s henchman because Faren thought that guy big-mouth as hell.
♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️
Faren: ok I understand we should name our temporary group but…why this name!?🤨
Marty: I just see that Mr.Hunter names his mafia group “The scarlet Black rose family”.. something.. something family🤔, so I decide to mame something that end with “-family” too😚🔥so magnificent!!!
Raymond: I’ve just known their group name this day, how you know, Marty?😥
Marty: We’re all know, brother. But you don’t know maybe just because you care only Miss Elena hahaha
Dino: This is the person who wants to play politic and suppress mafia groups , isn’t it? Just big mafia’s group name you don’t know 😒*stink eyes*
Raymond: 🥲
Faren: Go back to our group, I think it’s too long!
Marty: still easier to pronounce than your last name, Fren
Mike: This is so horrible name, Marty. It reminds me of “Slim Jim” more than mafia things! *are you high!?*
Marty: C’mon Mike😮‍💨I’ve ever think you have good sense to name something like your children or dogs but…I can’t believe you call this masterpiece stupid!? Just think about it!
Marty: Actually at first I want to name our group “The babyface boyz family” but I think it’s too mediocre
Dino: why babyface boyz?🤨Me, Rotundo, Rick, Jacques and Ray are all heels! only Faren and Ronnie are babyface
Marty: Because you all have ever been famous babyface before, and be the type “nobody gonna expected that you guys will turn heel”. Mike was a pride of America/ Dino and Rougeaus was pride of French-Canadian/ Rick Martel was one of no.1 tagteam.. we’re the friggin good guys of this story, we’re all have “babyface spirit” even though some of you turn heel now.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ronnie: hmmm👀✨ That’s very deep meaning
Mike: are you high too?, mr. lawn hair
Sherri: hey!I eavesdrop you guys for a while, can I be your er…Slim fam member too?🤩
Faren: “Slam Fam”, sister😒we’re noy slim at all. And no way, it’s too dangerous
Dino: I think so, too. It’s dangerous for woman, sherri. That’s the real mafia, they don’t care who you are.
Sherri: Real mafia and!?!? I mean.. why not! I also had a feud with that bastard henchmen too at the bar last night!! You guys see already they try to touch my butt!!
Faren: but that time you punched them already, didn’t you!?. I think this time you better stay at hotel and not go out for a while, especially in the bar, sista!
Mike: I’m soooo tired to stop your fight with that henchman. you’re so weight like a giant pig😑
Faren: (but your weight isn’t less than her, Michael)🙄
Sherri: Actually that night you guys shouldn’t try to stop me😤
Jacques: we try to stop you not because we agreed with that mafia or try to protect same gender people, Sherri. We know you’re tough, we know you’re brave, you can fight with them with bare hands. But fighting with them should be men like us’ due. You shouldn’t do something that makes them want to fight back!.
Sherri: I just did what that pervert deserves. And I’ll say again and again I can go out whatever I want. Fighting with that jerks is not only boys due but also gurls!
Sherri: I think…*squint* you try to keep your feuds as a secret not because I’m lady but because it’s very big deal. You want me to tell Vince?
Dino: Nononono!don’t do this! Don’t you know their boss is Vince’s business negotiator now!

The Rougeau Brothers of Jacques and Raymond have not spoken to each other in over 7 years. This despite doing several autograph sessions together. It all stemmed from Jacques wanting to borrow money from Raymond for his wrestling promotion and Ray refusing

Twenty-seven years before the host of this WrestleMania (and the previous one) was elected el Presidenté. Now that I got the blatantly obvious outta the way, let's move on. Was Rockin' Robin singing, speaking, lip syncing, or what to "America the Beautiful"? I don't know, but Jake "the Snake" Roberts' half-sister sounded horrendous. Hercules/Haku was alright, but nothing special. The Rockers/Twin Towers was an okay match for being Shawn Michaels' debut WrestleMania bout. One thing though. The team name, The Twin Towers, did not age gracefully, did it? Dibiase/Beefcake was better than the prior matches, but the ending hindered it more than helping. As my friend and I were rewatching this, we were talking about how if a match and/or feud is a part of Mania, there should be a conclusive result. Not a double countout. I feel that Perfect/Blazer was the best of the first third of the card. ... https://www.instagram.com/p/CLYOgBsM4UE/?igshid=82c5phlwks3d

January 9th 1993 - Mania Premiere Episode
Tumblr media
Here we are, the big debut of WWF Mania - and I cannot find the show in its entirety anywhere on the World Wide Web! So thanks to The History of WWE, WWF Old School and WrestleCrap, I have managed to piece together the show.
The WWF have added Mania to their weekend of shows with the difference being that it would be shown nationally on USA as opposed to my good friend, syndication. The intention of Mania is to review the previous weeks antics from the company’s other shows as well as Mania exclusive matches and segments.
So, without further ado, welcome to the first ever episode of WWF Mania.
Tumblr media
Firstly we see the on-screen debut of the WWF’s newest member of the broadcast team, Todd Pettengill. He is the host of the new show and he runs through what we will see on the show, including a Mania exclusive match between Jim Duggan and the Repo Man and the much-hyped Owen Hart interview with Raymond Rougeau.
Tumblr media
But first Todd introduces a highlight package showing some of Doink’s pranks on other superstars, including throwing a bucket of water over Marty Jannetty and hitting Tatanka in the head with a mop. Crush, as we saw on the 2nd January Superstars, had taken exception to Doink’s actions and we see a repeat of his interview with Ray Rougeau from that show as well as his match with Dave Sigfrids.
Tumblr media
Mania Exclusive Match - Repo Man vs. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan
Up next we have our very first WWF Mania exclusive match – Repo Man vs “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. We are in Beaumont, TX and our commentators are Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes. We hear Duggan’s theme which starts with the trademark “HOOOOOO!”, which Sean Mooney imitates by going “HI-YOOOOO” – No Sean, that’s not how it goes, although its not as if he and 6500 other people haven’t heard just heard it.
There is no doubting that Duggan is over with the crowd. They really into this match despite it being as slow as a week in jail. Duggan controls the match with punches, clotheslines and an atomic drop however Repo Man turns the tide with a stun gun from the apron.
More punches and kicks, very plodding offense and Repo locks in a chin lock. Duggan elbows a charging Repo in the corner and takes over. Duggan then slams Repo Man and lines up for the Three Point Stance clothesline, which seals the 1-2-3 for Hacksaw in 3:49. Clearly the extra lining up of Repo Man add infinite extra power to the move as opposed to the many identical clotheslines thrown at the beginning of the match by Duggan.
Tumblr media
Next up is the Yokozuna-George Anderson match from 2nd January Superstars where he literally squashes the poor guy. They are going big with Yoko, which is helped by the fact he is really good in the ring for such a big guy. He only debuted Survivor Series the previous November and he’s already been touted by Vince for big things.
Tumblr media
Next on the agenda is a Headlock on Hunger promo from The Undertaker and Paul Bearer, which prompted me to have a look at the card. We know about the main event, Bret Hart vs. Bam Bam Bigelow, which will be for the WWF Title if Bret retains at the Royal Rumble.
The rest of the card includes a repeat of the WrestleMania IV main event with Randy Savage taking on Ted DiBiase, Mr Perfect vs. Ric Flair, Razor Ramon vs Big Boss Man, which will be for the WWF Title if Ramon wins at the Rumble and Bob Backlund vs. Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Title, again, dependent on a Shawn win in Sacramento.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the Heartbreak Kid, the next segment is a repeat of his Intercontinental Championship defence against Jim Brunzell from the previous weeks Wrestling Challenge. As we know, Shawn wins in 5:26 with a Sloppy Chin Music.
Tumblr media
We now move on to the most hyped part of this show, the much-anticipated Owen Hart interview. Owen says he is happy with how his 1992 went and is expecting 1993 to be even better and that the future looks bright for himself and High Energy. Raymond and Owen talk a bit about Bret and his times in the Dungeon with Bret, his other brothers and his dad, the legendary Stu Hart.
Razor Ramon comes out of nowhere and clotheslines Owen out of his chair. He then beats him down with the trashcan in the background, before proceeding to choke Owen. Razor finishes off by telling Owen to tell Bret that “he’s next!”.
Tumblr media
Royal Rumble report time with “Mean” Gene Okerlund and I imagine that we get the usual talking heads. I didn’t see this but if it is anything like the previous ones, we’ll hear from Bret, Razor and one or two of the Rumble competitors.
Tumblr media
Mr Perfect is out next as we have a repeat of his win over the Berzerker in an enjoyable match from Superstars. We see the attempted interference by Ric Flair which is a nice segway into the last segment of the show and that is the re-airing of the Bobby Heenan Narcissus hype.
And with that, the first WWF Mania comes to a close. Hard to tell what the show was like as I only saw the segments in bits and not the entire show so I will hold back on that, however having your first exclusive match being Jim Duggan-Repo Man is a miss. That was just a plodding mess, which baffles me why they used it when they had a Shawn and a Perfect match on the show, both of which are reasonably good matches, but as I say, I’ll reserve judgement on it without seeing it in full. However, take from it what you will, this show has its own induction on WrestleCrap.

WCW World War 3 1996 PPV Review
Oh dear lord, what a night of stipulations! An “Arm Tied Behind My Back Match”, a three ring sixty man battle royal!, and a three way dance for the tag team titles. If nothing else, this will be...interesting. In terms of storyline, Eric Bischoff has recently aligned himself with the nWo and Sting has just begun his rafters-watching Crow gimmick and is currently targeting Jeff Jarrett for unknown reasons. Let’s see how it goes.
Tumblr media
Date: November 24, 1996 / Venue: Norfolk Scope - Norfolk, VA / Attendance: 10314 / Tagline: Sixty Men... Three Rings... One Battle Royal... Total Destruction!
J-Crown Title Match Ultimo Dragon w/ Sunny Onoo pins Rey Mysterio Jr. in (13:48)
Ultimo Dragon is putting up EIGHT belts in this match holy shit
High energy back and forth stalemate at the beginning
Sends Rey Mysterio way up and he comes crashing down on a belly flop god DAMN
Ultimo Dragon is keeping Mysterio grounded, which is really cool considering they had a more high flying match all the way through at Hog Wild that Dragon lost--so there’s continuity there
Dragon is absolutely dominating to this point
Hits a brutal brainbuster on Mysterio jesus
Small package attempt from Mysterio
Piledriver to Mysterio. Dragon is really grinding down on him in this match and honestly appears to be entirely outclassing Jr.
Piledriver to Mysterio again this time on the outside
Dragon FINALLY goes to the top rope and hits a hurricanrana
RUNNING POWERBOMB! But he can’t get the cover. Ridiculous.
Jumping spinwheel kick from Mysterio does some kind of double rope jump flip shit. Just wild.
Sunset flip off the top rope by Mysterio, fails, bridging pin by Dragon
Dragon suplex, but a kickout
Bomb into the ropes into a powerbomb on Mysterio for Dragon to retain the J-Crown
My Rating [4.25*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [4.5*]
One Arm Tied Behind My Back Match Chris Jericho w/ Teddy Long pins Nick Patrick in (08:02)
Just...lol. Lol. Please, I pray to Jericho, make this quick.
Oh. So only Jericho has to tie his arm behind his back. Okay, interesting.
Jericho is just overwhelming Patrick even with one arm
Jericho starts a “Patrick sucks” chant, what a fucking king
Beef between Teddy Long and Nick Patrick on the outside
Strikes from Jericho to Patrick and Patrick falls
Patrick keeps on rolling out of the ring...this match is predictably annoying and I feel bad for Jericho for having to do it
Jericho misses a punch on the outside and hits the ringpost, hurting his hand and now Patrick is getting some serious shots in
Patrick does some weird somersault move and then starts working on Jericho in the corner
I swear to god if Patrick fucking wins this
Jericho bashes Patrick’s head in the corner
Nick Patrick goes up to the top rope and then Jericho hip tosses him off please just pin him Jericho! Jericho hits a superkick and it’s over. Ugh. This could’ve been a zero star match if it weren’t for Jericho.
My Rating [.5*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [1.25*]
The Giant pins Jeff Jarrett in (06:05)
Ah yes! My absolute favorite rivalry is getting a rematch!
Hot start! Jarrett gets laid out by a clothesline from The Giant
Jarrett returns fire with a clubbing blow and a dropkick
People are pointing up somewhere, who could it be?
IT’S STING, OF COURSE!
UGH CROW STING IS SO BADASS
Jarrett hits a big crossbody on The Giant
STING PLANTS A DDT ON JEFF JARRETT
CHOKESLAM ON JARRETT, 1-2-3
My Rating [1.5*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [1.25*]
Contract Signing Rowdy Roddy Piper & “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan
Piper comes out, Bischoff, DiBiase, and that other guy come out on Hogan’s behalf
Piper calls Bischoff “an Eddie Munster lookalike” lmao
Bischoff threatens to fine Piper and Piper asks “how much would it cost me to just knock your ass out”
Hogan comes out along with the rest of the nWo. Already it is starting to feel like there are too damn many people in the nWo.
Hogan says that Piper was his equal ten years ago and can’t do it now, as if he hasn’t aged horribly too
Piper shows the scar on his hip which looks horrible
Hogan says he can’t wait to beat up a gimp, and Piper comes at him and the nWo respond in kind
HOGAN HITS THE SURGICALLY REPAIRED HIP WITH A FUCKING CHAIR
nWo spraypaint on the leg of Piper
Piper is trying, so, so admirably, to fight despite not being able to stand on the leg
“November 29th! Nashville, Tennessee! If that’s the best you can do, Hogan, YOU’RE IN TROUBLE!” HELL YES KING OH MY GOD
Booker T & Stevie Ray “Harlem Heat” w/ Sherri pins Jacques Rougeau & Pierre Ouellette “The Amazing French Canadians” w/ Col. Parker in (09:14)
The Amazing French Canadians...sort of sing their national anthem. They just mumble some nonsense into the mic and get their heat and move on
Double clothesline from Harlem Heat on Rougeau
Stevie Ray wails on him
Booker T hits a knee drop
“There’s nothing like going to war with a man in tight pants,” says Dusty Rhodes. “You already know you’re on the winning side.”
Scissor kick from Booker T! Hell yeah
SPINAROONI INTO A HIGH KICK FROM BOOKER T! I LOVE YOU BOOK I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Boston Crab applied by the Canadians with a leg drop added from the top rope
Incredible spot I’ve never seen before with the steps on top of the ring ropes
Flip misses tho and Harlem get the pin, 1-2-3, and Sherri gets to beat up Col. Parker! Cool I guess.
My Rating [1.5*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [.75*]
WCW Cruiserweight Title Match Dean Malenko pins Psychosis in (14:33)
A lot of dance-grappling in the middle of the ring
A lot of...holds? From Malenko? I dunno. I’m feeling a little bored by this match so far. Been think about what Allan on Twitter said about Malenko’s matches looking too cooperative.
Malenko kicks him into the top rope! Jesus!
Malenko applies a nasty leg pull in the middle of the ring
Psychosis hits a nasty backbreaker into flip combo on the outside
Leg drop off the top rope
Fast small package out of a delayed vertical suplex
Bridge into bride into bridge into tombstone piledriver! WOW!
Malenko pins Psychosis with a weird back bend
My Rating [3.25*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [2.75*]
Three Corners Match for the WCW Tag Team Titles Scott Hall & Kevin Nash “The Outsiders” def. Jerry Sags & Brian Knobbs “The Nasty Boys”, and Meng & The Barbarian “The Faces of Fear” w/ Jimmy Hart in (16:08)
This match is going to be total chaos
The commentators up top are just straight up acknowledging that the rules dont fucking matter lol
The Nasty Boys and the Faces of Fear are working on each other separately for a while
Nash eventually enters, trades off beating up a Nasty Boy with Scott Hall
Tag matches like this where you can tag the other teams in and out for some inexplicable reason are the WORST
the idea that there could be any strategy involved immediately goes out the window
Now everybody’s in the middle of the ring fucking around!
Hall now going to work on a face of fear
Both Faces of Fear get tagged in but then one tags in a Nasty Boy, so...can you win the belts without pinning
Now both Faces of Fear and both Outsiders are fucking each other up in the ring. WHY WOULDNT THE NASTY BOYS WANNA GET IN THEY CANT GET THE BELTS LIKE THIS AND WHY CAN U TAG OUT TO OTHER TEAMS WHAT THE FUCK
Scott Hall sells a nutshot pretty hilariously, so...this match has that going for it
WAIT WTHAT THE FUCK IF SCHIAVONE SAYS IF THEY PIN EACH OTHER THEY RETAIN THE BELTS. THIS MATCH IS POINTLESS AND IDIOTIC AND THEY TRY TO PIN EACH OTHER OMG I HATE THIS GARBAGE
Megaphone to Knobbs into powerbomb into retaining. What a garbage match.
My Rating [.25*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [.5*]
Three Ring, Sixty Man Battle Royal The Giant def. A Lot of Wrestlers
Cool! An incredibly long battle royal!
Luger and Guerrero exit first and then a jobber and then DDP
Tons of people streaming out obviously, this is insane
LA PARKA!!!!
The nWo exit together, and it looks like Nash is drinking soda or beer as he exits
Steve McMichael is apparently used to “being in there with a lot of men and having his way”
Brawl on the outside even before a bunch of the people are in the ring...nonsense already
What a beautiful fucking disaster. I’m not even going to attempt to describe what’s going on here. They’re in triple screen and you cant even see the action, really. It’s impossible to follow.
Lol commentator Lee Marshall gets injured
This is so, deeply, incredibly boring
Comes down to Luger and five nWo members, and the Giant wins. Cool! I never gave a shit and I hated it all the way through.
My Rating [.25*] / Daddy Meltzer’s Rating [.5*]
Overall PPV Grade: D
One hell of an opener and then not much else could possibly redeem this shitshow. Too many stipulations, not enough interesting storylines or good wrestling. The nWo storyline is already starting to show cracks in the armor and I need an injection of Sting, and fast.
