Putting up a poll on what Haikyuu fanfic from my masterlist to rewrite because I literally cannot decide and nothing's gonna get done at this rate:
The link is here if anyone's interested (Fair warning I wrote them years ago and they're pretty shitty, they make me cringe, but I know I can do wonders with the aged up concepts with my writing now though so-):

FIRST CONGRATS ON GRADUATING SECOND care to share that yukuroo comic? Coz I'm interested now :> (u don't have to if u don't want to its okay)
HEHEE THANKS 🥺🫶🫶🫶 I saw your live insta story likes as they were happening lmao 😭😭😭 It was so surreal bc like damn can't believe I'm out of there now 😔 probably a 8/10 graduation, could've used less technical difficulties 💀 but overall great! Esp the fact that we got photo studio pics after 😍😍😍
nOW— Ok so, I made this in like 2 days and 0 actual comic experience 😭 and tbh the clarity hit me when I was done that I don't think I can bring myself to put english dialogue in it 💀💀💀 ANYWAYS, it's like a short comic about her and Kuroo at her show while she was feeling down for lore reasons in my head but like, I couldn't get it all out on paper so instead, I changed the context to it being her first show and her being nervous abt it and stuff 👉👈
I actually planned to make it an actual art post on here but I'm like "Is it too cringe to be shown tumblr wide" bc it's not the best thing I've drawn 😭😭😭 BUT I'd be happy to send it to you via discord to get your thoughts on whether I should post it 🥰👉👉
#「🗨 directors' hangout 🗨」#「✎ yuu's journal ✎」#Movie Kuroo too strong#he got me acting up#😭😭😭#I WISH I had the skill to be like the other Kuroo yumes 😔#There's this rlly good one I look up to#So I rlly hope I can be like her 🥺🥺🥺#ANYWAYS RAY HELLO

ᯓ★ masterlist.
reblogs and interactions are always appreciated ! (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ᰔ*.゚
“congratulations tetsu.” you smile, holding your flute of champagne high up into the air. kuroo playfully clinks it against yours, the sound ricocheting within your small booth and solidifying the fact that he had gotten what he had worked so hard for — the all stars project.
many months ago, kuroo had a vision. one where he could take one of the things he loves most and share it with the world. the dream to lower the net, to show everyone how amazing volleyball is and hope they fall in love with it just like he did. and all of it was just on the outskirts of the horizon, rising with the steady sun as he gets ready to make his mark on the world.
earlier this week, he had submitted the proposal and given his presentation to the higher ups as well as the board. and of course, it had gone off without a hitch. the proposal was unsurprisingly approved today.
“thank you sweetheart.” he takes a quick sip of his drink, as do you. “i couldn’t have done it without your support. especially on those late nights when i was editing the proposal.”
you let out a light chuckle at that, heat rising to your cheeks as you remember the night very clearly. it involved a lot of give and take – ensuring that kuroo was staying on track but also taking some well-deserved, arguably too long breaks.
you gently set down the glass and reach over the table to touch his hand, trying to pour all of your love in the simple motion. his hand easily flips over and finds yours, securely holding it in place. a tender warmth blossoms in your chest at the small gesture. basking in his love was the embodiment of personified sunshine, casting a warm glow that seeps into your bones, like finding the perfect ray to lay in as his skin brushes against yours. the world comes into focus, soft and fuzzy around the edges as you gaze at him, pride filling you to the brim.
“i’ll always be here to support you.” you assure, giving his hand an extra squeeze. barely a second goes by before he gently squeezes right back. “but seriously, i’m so proud of you. i know this is only the start but i’m so excited to watch you go on this journey. you deserve this.”
kuroo’s eyes search yours for a moment as he tries to find the right words. the sudden praise filled his head and encouraged him to dive in a little deeper.
“you know, in high school i tried so hard to make the battle of the garbage dump happen. it was always my coach's dream to see it happen and somewhere along the way, i adapted it into my own. even though we lost, i was so relieved that we were able to play it at all. and i know it meant the world to him. so i’d like to think that the game was just practice for this. like i’m meant to do this. i know i can and i know it’s going to take a lot of work too. but i think i’m ready.” kuroo says, finishing with a quick sip of his drink.
the whole world stands still whenever kuroo talks about volleyball. his love and passion for it commands the attention of everyone nearby, drawn to the spark that ignites in his eyes. if anyone could pull off this project, it was him. your heartstrings tug as you watch him excitedly ramble on about it all, the essence of a young boy's dream turning into a man’s reality taking shape before your very eyes.
when you first met kuroo two years ago at the olympics, you saw it then – the fire in his heart when it came to volleyball. striking up a conversation with anyone near the court to ask for their opinions about the match, listening thoroughly to what they had to say.
which is how he met you. little did he know you were a sports journalist looking for your next story. the way he knew these players in and out made him a plethora of knowledge and later, one of your closest informants.
the connections he held and still holds never ceases to amaze you. that’s why you knew he was the perfect man for the job.
“that’s incredible tetsu.” you smile at him, tilting your head to the side. “i really think you were meant for this too. you have a knack for bringing people together. even if you can be an ass about it sometimes.” you pause before adding that last bit under your breath, but still loud enough for kuroo to pick up on it.
“oi! i was being serious.” he pouts, furrowing his brow at you. you catch the glint in his eye and continue to push, knowing he always got a kick whenever you teased each other.
“so was i.” you smile, swirling your drink around. you carry on before he has another chance to retort. “but seriously, i am really proud of you.”
you watch in delight as his cheeks tinge pink and look away. you remember when he first started drafting the proposal, the hours he poured into it. it may have only been the beginning of the journey, but you could clearly see how driven he was to do this.
“ooh is that a blush i see?” you tease, trying to see how red you could make him. it was always a rare sight to see him flustered.
“no-“
“it is! you’re totally blushing right now kuroo tetsuro.”
his tongue pokes against the inside of his cheek as he lets out a small chuckle in response, a smirk lining his features. kuroo slowly shakes his head before his eyes snap back to yours. his cheeks are still dusted red – maybe even more so now – but his resolve was always strong.
“fine, you caught me. what can i say? you just have that effect on me.” he gives in.
“good. somebody needs to humble you.” you cast him a smug look while he rolls his eyes, letting you win this time. but you knew better. you stare at each other for a moment, before you both erupt into giggles. emotion took over you and mixed with the champagne you were drinking, it felt like you and kuroo were on top of the world together.
the laughter slowly fades out but the eye contact remains, holding each other's gaze like you’ve done so many times before. his shining eyes reflect yours, filled with all the absolute adoration he holds for you. all you can do is look back at him with the same expression. a look filled with so much love, so much passion. one that conveys the many words you wish you could say, words that he’s heard a thousand times but not even that could tire you out from saying them again and again. so instead, you settle on saying something else.
“quit staring.” you giggle, taking another sip of the champagne. kuroo only chuckles, his eyes slowly trail over you as he takes in your appearance for the hundredth time tonight. but this time, it was clear — he wasn’t planning on just admiring you this time around. he was drinking every ounce of you in.
who needs to be drunk on champagne when he has someone as delectable as you to indulge in?
“alright.“ he smirks, smoothly getting up and sliding down into the booth to be right next to you, slinking his arm around your waist before his hand rests on your hip. you feel his lips lightly press against your earlobe, the deep rumble of your name flows through you, his voice only lulling you closer to him. “this better for you then?”
“tetsu-” you breathe out, slightly squirming in his hold.
“that is my name.” kuroo merely teases you as he nuzzles his nose against your cheek, hoping to elicit more out of you. a shiver runs down your spine, heat bubbling up and pooling deep within you. your thighs reflect that as you not so discreetly start rubbing them together. “is there something you want?”
“no.” you’re quick to answer – too quick. and he picks up on it, chuckling against your skin, his breath fanning across your neck as he continues his descent. you almost jump out of his hold as he presses open mouthed kisses along your collarbone, but his hand is still securely gripping your hip. your eyes dart around, silently thanking kuroo for insisting on getting the most private booth, but still – “we’re out in public.”
“and has that ever stopped us before?” he chuckles lightly, the sound swarming your head. his hand rests on your thigh, the rings that adjourn his fingers felt cold against you, but his hand was so, so warm. all it took was a couple words, a few touches, and he’d always be able to have you right where he wanted you. but you both knew it worked both ways. “besides, i can’t help myself. you look too good.”
“shouldn’t we at least wait for dinner to arrive first?” you ask, watching his hand trail up to the hem of your dress. it was all too easy for him to slip his finger under, gently teasing along your inner thigh but not going any farther just yet.
“why have dinner when we could skip right to dessert?” he smirks, leaning in to lightly bite down on your earlobe.
“you’re so-” before you could call him out on his cheesy line, his finger glides all the way up to where you needed him most, teasingly rubbing against the all too thin underwear you had on.
“sorry, didn’t catch that, what were you saying?” he purrs in your ear, toying with your underwear but not quite giving you what you want. your hand flies to his wrist, delicately wrapping your fingers around him.
there was a brief pause, his eyes flickering to yours as he waits to see if you want him to stop. but instead, your eyes only gaze into his — counting all the tiny specs of gold that coats his dark irises like the setting sun. with a small nod of your head, the game changes.
“well?” you whisper, watching the smirk on his face grow.
“bathroom?” kuroo asks, slowly sliding his hand from you. your thighs rub together again, already missing his touch.
“bathroom.” you lean in, kissing the corner of his smirk — one of his weak points. kuroo’s eyes widen a fraction before he nods, excitement buzzing throughout the air. “meet me there?”
“go on then.” he smirks as you slide out of the booth, adjusting your dress. you send him a playful wink before quickly scurrying to the bathroom. you quickly go in, finding yourself standing in front of the mirror. you take out your lipstick and touch it up while you wait, smacking your lips together to seal in the color. the door abruptly opens as kuroo races in, locking it behind him.
the two of you stare at each other for a moment. similar to the look you shared at the dinner table, but this one was more charged – passion igniting you both. without any word, he pounces on you, backing you up against the wall and hitching your leg up around his waist. his other hand delicately pulls you in closer to him by your neck, his lips furiously attacking yours. you hardly had a chance to breathe, let alone think.
“you drive me crazy, you know that?” kuroo whispers against your lips, the sound slightly muffled. the hand that’s loosely holding your neck slides up, grasping onto your chin. his hold pries your mouth open a little more and he’s able to deepen the kiss to his liking.
the kiss lit up every nerve in your body. the amount of passion he could pour into it dizzied your mind. all the drive and determination he held for his job seeped into the kiss, charging it up even more than usual. he pulls apart, panting against your lips. “been wanting to do this since the moment i saw you in this dress.”
“well you certainly didn’t waste anytime-” your arms wrap around his broad back, grabbing at his tailored made suit. even though he was pressed up against you, he wasn’t close enough. the hand that was keeping your leg in place by his hip slides up, softly smacking against your backside.
“up.” and you don’t waste a beat, jumping up so your legs are loosely wrapped around him, both of his hands cradling you up, sliding under your dress, letting the fabric bunch at your waist. kuroo presses himself against you, his voice dropping an octave. “been needing you all day, you gonna take it for me?”
you nod as your hands fly to his zipper and you can feel him pushing, no – pulsing – against his slacks, further proving how true his statement was. the zipper slides down with ease and you reach under his clothes, pulling out his aching cock, the tip glistening with need. he hisses at the heavenly contact.
“shit.” he whispers as you spread around the precum he had leaking from his weepy tip, stuttering into your hand. “you’re so good to me.”
“so proud of you tetsu.” your purr in his ear, repeating your words from earlier. you feel his cock twitch in your hand at the praise and you can’t help but smile. his fingers snake around to push your panties to the side as you line him up to your entrance, more than eager to sink into you. “let me show you how proud.”
kuroo lets out a sound of approval as he slowly slides into you, your cunt sucking him in greedily. within a short breath, he buries the rest of himself into you.
kuroo’s heavy breath fans along your collarbones, lips eagerly attaching themselves to the skin there as he gives you a moment of reprieve. all you can focus on is the way he swirls his tongue against the small bite he left behind.
as much as you loved it, your body demanded more, moving on its own accord as you squirm in his hold.
“yeah? you ready for me?” he whispers with a shaky breath, obviously not immune to how good you feel. you nod your head, chasing the friction you desperately sought before he starts to finally move his hips. once they start, they don’t stop – a steady pace that has you throwing your head back into the wall. leave it to him to always figure out exactly what you need and driving it all the way home. each of his thrusts only show you how much you desire him, between the squelching noise of your sopping cunt and the way you kept sucking him back in.
“tetsu-“ you gasp out, nails digging further into the shirt that was sure to wrinkle. “faster!”
and he delivers, hips snapping into action before the plea can finish rolling off your tongue, shoving you further into the wall. his fingers dig into the plushness of your thighs, holding you steady as he thrusts into you, grunting in your ear.
“you’re taking me so well, so eager for me, yeah?” he babbles, lost in the pleasure that you endlessly bring him. it was always so easy to get lost in each other, to feel like you were the only two people left in the world. your love for each other was all consuming.
your head was so wrapped up in him that you didn’t care about where you were. it didn’t matter that you were in some bathroom at some restaurant – what mattered was that you were in his arms, feeling him everywhere. being connected the way you always longed for no matter how many times you got it.
and kuroo didn’t disappoint. he had always been a passionate lover but he was fired up tonight – driven by the success he’s gained from his proposal being passed, vigorously using it to thrust into you deeper, his cock nudging your core perfectly, your eyes falling to the back of your head as you cling onto him.
and his mouth didn’t stop, filthy words flowing between his provocative lips, driving you further over the edge as your cunt squeezes around him tightly.
“gonna cum for me?” he whispers in your ear, his hands digging further into your hips as he tries to stave off his release for just a little longer. he wants to reduce you into an absolute mess, having you crying out on his cock, begging for more and more but he figures he should wait until he gets you home first to really ruin you.
“y-yes!” you go to cry out but he’s faster, the palm of his hand muffling your enthusiasm. the action makes your eyes roll to the back of your head, squeezing around him so tightly that his pace stutters. his fingers dance along your clit, throwing you into your release as you cum all around his cock.
“shit—“ he voice cracks as his words turn into a sweet moan, your release influencing his. he quickly bites your shoulder, trying to muffle the sound he lets out. his hips jerk as he presses them flush against you, panting in your ear as you milk his cock for all he’s worth. quickies with him were always so rewarding, especially out in public because it always made him cum that much more.
he eases you down from where you were pinned against the wall, peppering your face with kisses as he helps adjust your clothing.
“that was incredible.” he kisses your forehead, zipping up his pants and tightening his belt. “i hope you’re ready for more once we get home. didn’t get a chance to savor you the way i wanted.”
“yeah? then we better hurry up and eat our dinner.” you smirk.
“how about we take it to go?” he chuckles, his lips pressed against the top of your head. his laugh echoes throughout your body and it’s entirely impossible to say no to him when he’s so excited like this.
“you box up the food and i'll start the car.” you smile, walking out of the bathroom. “don’t make me wait too long.”
“wouldn’t dream of it, sweetheart.”
thank you so much for reading ᰔ — next part.

Daydreams
The things they daydream about | Timeskip!Captains version
A/N: Um, hi, hello. Yes, I've been gone for quite a while! I'll make a post later with more details 😅 For now, enjoy this lil thing I couldn't get out of my brain. Do the boys really daydream as much as I do? Almost certainly not, but LET ME HAVE THIS.
KUROO envisions you sharing this space with him. He sees your toothbrush next to his and the indentation of you left in the bed next to him. Your laughter echoes through the quiet rooms and while he eats dinner, you're telling him about your day. You send him out the door each morning with a kiss, and your things slowly collect on every surface. His apartment never felt empty before, but lately it seems to be missing something.
BOKUTO thinks forever might look something like this: your smile, backlit by the sun, as you turn and hold your hand out to him. He takes it and instantly weaves his fingers with yours. The setting is hazy, but you're at the center of it, and that's all that matters. Another in a long string of adventures with you, even if that adventure is nothing more than a trip to the grocery store, is all he could ever ask for.
KITA sees a quiet evening. The sun is setting in a late summer sky, and he balances two cups of tea as he steps out onto the porch. You're already there, settled into your rocking chair with your eyes closed, soaking in the last rays of the sun. It plays golden across your face, and he can't help but pause for a few moments to admire the scene before him. When he finally moves to hand you a mug, your eyes open, and a smile breaks across your face that's only for him. He presses a kiss to your lips and basks in the contentment of the moment. This is the culmination of everything he's been working towards.
DAICHI always tends to picture you with a melody on your lips. It's an adorable habit of yours, that he often catches you humming softly to yourself as you go about your day, and it carries over into his daydreams. He's coming home after a long day, and there you are, standing at the kitchen counter and humming to yourself as you chop vegetables for dinner. The sound dies on your lips when his arms go around you, and turns into a soft smile as he presses a kiss to your temple. "Welcome home," you murmur, and he can't help but smile back. He wants to come home to this every day for the rest of his life.
OIKAWA just wants your face to be the first thing he sees every morning. He'll wake you up in a thousand different ways, with kisses or gentle murmurs or his fingers finding the soft skin beneath the hem of your shirt. When your eyes open, a soft smile breaks across your face, and you snuggle against him for just a few moments longer. Soon enough, you'll both have to get up and face the world, but until then it's enough to simply exist in this moment.
USHIJIMA hears three little words. "Let's go home," you're murmuring against his chest as he holds you close in the airport. He's been away again, but you're always here to welcome him back. Home is the apartment he shares with you, full of countless pieces of your life together, and most importantly, you. Stepping inside the familiar walls feels like a weight is falling from his shoulders. Sharing a meal with you and holding you close in your bed afterwards fills him to the brim with a warmth he never wants to lose.

⤷ his s/o is insecure about their small chest – hq
✩ characters: kuroo, kenma, hinata, bokuto
✩ warnings: f!reader, suggestive
✩ a/n: finally doing some more small-chested reader content, i'm sorry this took so long!!
⭑ kuroo
⤷ kuroo is so good at comforting you when you're feeling insecure, he'll hold you in his arms as he places gentle kisses along your neck and collarbones, mumbling compliments and reassurance against your skin as his hands caress the small of your back
⤷ he's definitely someone who likes seeing you in his clothes, but he especially loves when you wear one of his shirts and no bra— as much as he tries not to he always ends up staring, and he never means for you to feel that he's judging you, it's just that he thinks you're so hot and can't take his eyes away <3
⤷ if you're someone who's ever been made fun of because of your chest size, kuroo will tell you that you shouldn't listen to anyone who feels the need to project their own insecure feelings onto others as a way to feel better about themselves
⤷ he reminds you that you're beautiful no matter what and says that you shouldn't let other people’s opinions determine the way you feel about yourself
⤷ if you're still not convinced, then kuroo will happily tell you what he likes about your body, reminding you of all the benefits that come with having a small chest— he always finds himself going into a little too much detail and ultimately flustering you
⤷ he's determined to get you to see yourself the way he sees you, and will tell you how gorgeous you are as many times as it takes until you start to believe him <3
⭑ kenma
⤷ to be honest it probably didn't take kenma long to pick up on the fact you were insecure about your chest
⤷ he noticed how you always seemed to wear clothing that covered certain parts of your body, the way you had a tendency to slouch instead of sitting up straight, and not to mention the countless times he'd caught you staring at your own reflection for an unusually long time
⤷ while he did manage to piece things together rather quickly, that isn't to say he understands why you feel the way you do about yourself, he thinks you're so pretty!
⤷ he has an endless supply of hoodies for you to wear when you're feeling self-conscious, and he'll make sure to give you one of the softest and warmest ones before quietly asking you if you want to cuddle with him
⤷ speaking of which, kenma loves to rest his head on your chest when the two of you cuddle, and listening to your heartbeat always manages to put him at ease— there have definitely been times where he's fallen asleep in your arms because he just finds it so comfortable <3
⤷ when he knows you've been feeling bad about yourself he'll give you his card and let you do as much online shopping as your heart desires, encouraging you to buy as many new outfits as you want to give yourself a little confidence boost
⤷ kenma might not always be the best with words, but you can tell from his actions alone just how much he cares about you and wants to see you happy <3
⭑ hinata
⤷ hinata is so confused when he finds out about your insecurity, because he genuinely thinks your body is perfect the way it is and so in his eyes you have literally nothing to be insecure about
⤷ your boyfriend is such a sweetheart, as soon as he realises that you're unhappy with yourself he starts showering you with even more compliments and affection than usual and doing whatever he can to see you smile
⤷ with the way he was teased about his height growing up, he definitely knows what it's like to feel inferior to others because of something you have no control over, and so he can empathise with the frustration you feel and the way you can't help but compare yourself to those around you
⤷ but that doesn't mean he won't do whatever he can to try and change the way you feel about yourself
⤷ while hinata is the literal definition of a ray of sunshine, if he ever overhears anyone making a joke or comment about your chest size you'll see a completely new side to him— his smile will vanish and he'll become incredibly serious and hostile, glaring daggers at the person who dared to speak about you like that
⤷ while he knows he won't be able to magically get rid of your insecurities, regardless of how much he wishes he could, he hopes that if he keeps on telling you just how perfect you are that one day you'll start to love yourself as much as he loves you <3
⭑ bokuto
⤷ it never even occurred to bokuto that you were self-conscious until you decided to open up to him about it
⤷ your boyfriend literally adores you and thinks he's so lucky that he gets to wake up next to you, and so he never imagined that someone as wonderful as you would ever think so negatively of themselves
⤷ when you did finally open up to him about your insecurity he honestly couldn't believe what he was hearing— he thinks you're so beautiful, how do you not see yourself the way he does?
⤷ bokuto didn't hesitate to engulf you in a big hug, pulling you into his broad chest and telling you that he loves you just the way you are
⤷ he's another one who is big on complimenting you, and he'll probably become a lot more touchy with you as well— but only if you're comfortable with it!
⤷ he also isn't the type to judge if you need a shoulder to cry on, and he will always be there for you if you're having a bad day and just need to be held as you let it all out
⤷ bokuto gets so upset whenever you make self-deprecating jokes or negative comments about your chest size, not only does it hurt to hear anyone talking badly about the literal love of his life, but it also breaks his heart that you don't see yourself as the amazing person he knows you are, and he's determined to convince you otherwise <3
⤷ please do not repost my works on any other sites!

Kuroo Tetsuro is not the type to tease someone. In fact, he is very kind to everyone and a gentleman to a lot of ladies. He is so friendly that at this point everyone adores him. But with you? He doesn't really know why, however, teasing you makes his day 100x better.
He loves seeing your scornful gaze, whenever he catches your stare, or when you are cutely trying to avoid him for the day. It's like you're telling him to follow and annoy you more.
He sometimes caught himself trying to find you just to piss you off. He can't help himself, your frown and pout is like a ray of sunshine to his hellish, mountain of workload.
Then one day, you stopped responding to his teasing, like you always do. You only heave out a heavy sigh, and told him that he is old enough to understand when someone doesn't enjoy being teased like that.
He was confused, bewildered even. What happened to his ray of sunshine?
After work, he was invited to drink with his officemates. Several pints of beer later, they revealed that you started dating someone- older and mature. They claimed you looked like your head over heels to your new guy. They also spilled- heard that your man, advised you to stop reciprocating to his teasing, if you truly want Kuroo to stop. And that, you did.
It doesn't feel good. He doesn't know this feeling growing inside his stomach, especially, when he mentioned "your man". It is disgusting. That couldn't be.

Final Girl: Act I
Pairing: Daichi x Reader x Kuroo
Tags: NSFW, Yandere, Non-Consensual Drugging, Non-Consensual Somnophilia, Daichi and Kuroo being grade A creeps
Summary: If only you hadn’t been so focused on intently staring at the ground in an attempt to avoid those piercing hazel eyes, maybe then you would have noticed the momentary smug cold gleam in those deceptively kind brown eyes as the two men exchange a glance.
Link to Final Girl: Act II
You are a complete moron. Torn between screaming and crying, you let out a strangled sound between the two as you furiously clench your fists around your now useless steering wheel. It’s almost laughable how cliche the situation you find yourself in is. You can even see the imaginary script in your head.
Scene: Girl in broken down car, cell phone out of battery, stuck in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road, torrential downpour
You’ve always rolled your eyes in annoyance at the dumb damsels in distress you’ve seen on screen, all in predicaments easily avoided if they had used a single ounce of common sense. And now here you are, just like them, all because you had stupidly scoffed at the numerous warnings about the inclement weather.
What harm could a little more rain than usual do? Apparently, a lot.
Weighing your options, a brick of disbelief and hysteria swells and sinks inside of you. There’s no way you can stay in this car. Even if you wait out the flash floods and stormy nightmare outside that looks to have no end in sight, you’ll still have a broken car and dead cell phone with no city or town anywhere near walking distance. You’ll need to venture out into the forests that surround you on either side in hopes of stumbling upon a cabin with kindhearted folks who’ll help you out.
It’s not a long shot that you’ll find some nearby residents. Despite this area being off the beaten track, you know there are plenty of people who’ve migrated here in search of a quieter and more remote life. You yourself had ventured out here for a long weekend solo getaway to rest and reset (the premise of this whole unfortunate scenario). But that doesn’t stop that same stereotypical script from playing in your head as you anxiously exit your car and delve into that intimidating expanse of greenery.
Scene: Girl walks into the woods, disappearing out of view from the road, only the stillness and silence of the forest left in her wake
You grimace as mud squelches under the weight of your steps, as floods of water stream down your face. Your one saving grace is that at least there’s still daylight to guide you, but even that is quickly dwindling as the sun continues to set. Anxiety laced with fear begins to claw at you as darkness begins to spread.
How long have you been searching? How far are you from your car? Do you even know where you are? Are you lost-
Your body stiffens in shock as your frantic eyes see a glow of light up ahead and your frenzied thoughts are cut short by adrenaline as your legs scramble forward before your brain can catch up, stumbling towards that literal ray of hope you see in the distance. Relief washes over you as the sight of a cabin becomes clearer the closer you get to your destination and primal instincts take a back seat as you slow down, cautiously assessing your surroundings.
It certainly doesn’t look like a murder house. In fact you’re almost in awe at how chic and charming the “cabin” in front of you is with its sleek black rustic yet modern structure nestled among a gorgeously curated landscape. The inhabitants certainly had taste and money, but you know better than to immediately equate to being “good”. Do you take the risk of ringing their doorbell?
Life makes that decision for you and your heart pounds in terror at the feeling of a hand grabbing your shoulder, head spinning to locate the source only to be locked in a staring contest with sharp hazel eyes.
“My, my. What do we have here? A little chick separated from her flock?”
You shudder as the low slow drawl of his words slither unpleasantly against you, an interested predatory lilt in every syllable. This was a mistake, you need to get out of here, run-
“Kuroo, what’s taking you so long- Who’s that with you?”
So distracted by the sudden stand-off, neither of you had noticed the cabin door opening or the approaching figure of the man now curiously observing the two of you.
Kind brown eyes worriedly look at you, a crease of concern furrowing between brows as the new stranger takes in your drenched state and before you can utter a word, a warm hand gently but firmly wraps around your wrist, leading you inside.
You know it’s foolish to let yourself so easily be swayed, but even if you were to run, you doubt you could outrun the two seemingly fit men. Not to mention how your gut is screaming that “brown eyes'' is a far safer option than the man whose hazel eyes are now staring in annoyance at the two of you, not unlike a cat whose prey has been snatched from him, as he glowers and trails behind you causing you to subconsciously hover close to your savior.
If only you hadn’t been so focused on intently staring at the ground in an attempt to avoid those piercing hazel eyes, maybe then you would have noticed the momentary smug cold gleam in those deceptively kind brown eyes as the two men exchange a glance.
Scene: Girl enters a stranger’s house
Daichi (brown eyes) and Kuroo (hazel eyes). You now have names to match with the faces. Childhood friends who had decided the hustle and bustle of city life wasn’t for them and had bought and renovated this property together. Freshly showered in a set of Daichi’s spare t-shirt and shorts, basking in the warmth of the fireplace, stomach filled with a delicious meal cooked by the two men, a glass of red wine in your hands, you wonder what you were so scared of. Even Kuroo seems harmless, if infuriating, as Daichi and him teasingly bicker with each other about their mutual friends and shared memories they had growing up together.
The weather had knocked out most of the power in the area leaving you without wi-fi or a way for you to charge your phone and with the roads as flooded and inaccessible as they were, there was little hope of a tow truck being able to take care of your car anytime soon. But you don’t mind the idea of having to stay a few days longer in this cozy cabin if this is how you’ll be pampered. Taking another generous sip of the ruby red liquid in your glass, you wonder how you can repay the two men. Maybe you can help them cook tomorrow…
Scene: Girl accepts a drink from a stranger
Ever the gentleman, Daichi is there to catch you as your body goes limp.
Kuroo snorts at the chivalrous display, but it doesn’t stop him from eagerly drawing near as he follows the broader man who bridal carries you up the stairs to the guest bedroom.
There’s no need for how gentle Daichi handles your body as he lays you on soft sheets, not with the dosage Kuroo had slipped into your wine. But he’d always been more careful with his toys, unlike the man next to him who is practically clawing off your clothes, his long lean frame already pinning you beneath him.
He can’t really blame his companion though. How long had it been since the last warm body they’d shared? The last foolish prey who’d naively walked right into their trap? So he just patiently watches as Kuroo eagerly partakes of you, only making warning comments here and there when the taller man is close to leaving too many marks that won’t be easily explained tomorrow. And when he’s done, your essence dripping from his mouth, your nipples and clit perky and begging for more attention, trails of Kuroo’s cum littering your body, it’s Daichi’s turn and he carefully savors you, relishing in how sensitive and responsive your body is even if your mind is far, far away, blissfully ignorant of your current predicament.
Scene: Girl is taken advantage of.
You groan, head throbbing, the daylight sneaking through the curtains doing nothing to alleviate-
Wait, daylight?
Momentary panic sets in as your mind whirls to remember what had transpired, eyes taking in the strange room you’re occupying.
Had you…drank too much? But you could have sworn you only had a couple of glasses… Maybe it was just the exhaustion from the trying night you had?
Your thoughts are interrupted by knocking on your door and you instinctively tense up as a head of spiky black hair peeks out at you. Despite the questionable first encounter the two of you had, you had convinced yourself that it was just a misunderstanding, that Kuroo was just a little more crude and rough around the edges than the average person. After all, if someone as kind as Daichi was close to him, surely Kuroo couldn’t be so bad, right?
But now that it’s just the two of you again, no Daichi to act as a comforting barrier, apprehension freezes you as Kuroo ambles towards your vulnerable figure still tucked underneath bed sheets. You swear there’s hunger in those hazel eyes and you shudder under his gaze, feeling it rake across your body, shivering at how small you feel as he towers over you when he reaches you, his legs pressed against the bed frame, upper body teasingly leaning over you.
“Some water for Sleeping Beauty.”
Technically he’s not touching you, but that thought does nothing to comfort or protect you from the heat of his body or the vibrations of his words as he practically cocoons you, going out of his way to almost embrace you as he uses the act of carefully placing a glass of water on your side table as an excuse. But before you can even react, he’s already pulling away, a self-satisfied smirk splayed on his face.
“Prince Charming is making breakfast. Come down when you’re ready.”
As your thoughts race with the conviction that you need to do everything you can to escape this place, Kuroo hisses in satisfaction, calloused hand palming the growing bulge in his pants outside your closed door. Fuck, if only you knew how delectable you look, trembling, scared, at his mercy. He can still taste you on his tongue, his cock twitching as it remembers how perfectly your walls had wrapped around it. And he wants more.
Time to wrap this little play up.
End of Act 1.

Tetsurou, much to your comfort, doesn't seem to have changed much in the three years since you've seen him last. As he stands just outside of the prison gates, leaning against the metal fence, you're struck with the thought that maybe the whole world really did stand still while you were gone - maybe time held itself back for you.
But then you blink, looking past him to his car and the empty passenger seat.
"Where's Kenma?" You ask quietly. Tetsurou just smiles in a rueful sort of way and pulls himself to his full standing height, beginning to walk towards his car.
"Come on," he says over his shoulder. "I'll drop you off wherever you want."
"What - Tetsurou," you call after him, breaking out into a jog to catch up to him as he slides into the driver's seat of his car. You pull open the door on the passenger side, looking at him strangely as he starts the engine and begins to pull out of the prison parking lot without another word.
"Where's Kenma?" You ask again as the two of you drive down the long, winding roads and away from the past three years of your life. In the early morning, the sun begins to shine its first rays onto the dew covering the grass and the hard set to Tetsurou's face.
There's a panicked sort of stuttering in your chest as you realize that things clearly did change, that the world tipped on its axis a little bit more while you were locked away.
"He's gone," Tetsurou says abruptly, a tightness in his voice.
"What does that mean?" You push. One of his hands tightens on the steering wheel while the other finds its way to your thigh, squeezing in what you're sure is supposed to be a comforting way.
"It means it's just the two of us now," he says quietly, staring out ahead. You follow his gaze out the front windshield and onto the endlessly stretching road, the sun wafting heat waves across the asphalt.
"I didn't think he'd take it so badly," you say quietly. Tetsurou sighs.
"You went to jail because of him, baby. How was he supposed to take it?" He points out. You frown, your hand finding his on your thigh so that you can twist your fingers with his.
"It wasn't his fault," you disagree. "We all fucked that job up."
"What, so it's my fault?"
"…Tetsurou," you say, shock flashing through your voice. He sighs and lets his shoulders slump.
"I'm sorry," he says honestly, squeezing your fingers in his. "I've been waiting for you for three years, you know… and the first thing you want to talk about is that."
"What, did you want me to kiss you?"
"A little," he confesses teasingly. You roll your eyes and flick him on the side of the head.
"Idiot," you murmur, but you lean over to press a kiss to his cheek anyway.
"That doesn't count," he shakes his head. "You have to give me a better one when we park."
"Yea, yea, alright," you sigh as if it's a weighty task and relax back into your seat, letting silence overtake the two of you as the sun climbs higher into the sky, sending searing tendrils of heat down towards the two of you.
"Did I really get broken up with three years ago?" You ask sullenly. "And I didn't even know?"
"Trust me," Tetsurou says dryly, "it wasn't better for me just because I did know. He… well, it was bad. I just don't think Kenma could do it without you - without it being the three of us."
"What about you?" You muse. Tetsurou glances at you questioningly. "Can you do it without it being all three of us?"
"Are you asking if I'm breaking up with you?"
"Kind of, yea," you shrug honestly. He presses his lips together for a moment, a guilty sort of look covering his face.
"I sort of think that's already happened, too, baby," he says softly. You blow a rush of air through your lips as you tip your head back against the leather seat.
"Wow," you quip. "Who knew prison could ruin your life so much."
"Kenma and I did," Tetsurou responds, his voice weighed down by the severity of his words. "That's why we couldn't stay together."
"I have a job for us," you say abruptly, seemingly ignoring his comments.
"You're… joking, right," Tetsurou asks slowly. "This is a joke. We're not in the game anymore. We're not."
"We are," you say stubbornly. "Just because I was benched for a few years doesn't mean I'm giving it up. I have a job for us - the perfect job. Come on, baby, the ball's in our court now. We have a chance here for something good."
"We had something good," Tetsurou sighs. "And then we fucked it up and you were arrested."
"I want to rob a casino," you say, disregarding Tetsurou's protests. He snaps his mouth shut at that, staring out ahead of him as he drives and blinks several times as shock, then annoyance, then weariness all pass over his face.
"I'm sorry, I hadn't realized you'd gone insane in there," he says tightly, but you just wave your hand dismissively.
"I've had three years to think about this - three years to plan this and I know how to do it. I know how we can do this," you say firmly. Tetsurou's sigh is heavy as he squints through the oncoming sun. It's lifted into the sky now, arching up over the endless blue and shining down on the two of you, illuminating your faces to each other.
"What's the casino?" He asks finally.
"Hinata Shouyou's," you answer immediately. Tetsurou swerves slightly, causing you to grab the handle on your door as he recovers from his shock.
"How did you know -"
"I didn't," you admit. "It's just that I'd take any chance to beat Hinata at this game - you know that. But now… if Kenma's gone, there's only one person he'll have to run to. I know that as well as you."
"You want to steal Kenma away from Hinata and rob, what, $50 million from him?" Tetsurou's voice, much to your amusement, has climbed in pitch as the shock of your words sets further in.
"No," you say plainly. "Three months from now, Hinata's hosting an event at his casino. On that night, there'll be close to $150 million in that vault. That's when I want to grab it."
"Well…" Tetsurou says slowly, shifting in his seat as he turns your words over and over in his mind. "You better have a good fucking plan."
"I do," you assure immediately. "I always do."
It's three weeks after that when the two of you find yourselves in a hotel suite in Las Vegas, pouring over stolen blueprints of Hinata's casino and his vault. Tetsurou traces a finger across one of the pages, frowning.
"This is Kenma's work, all right. Getting through security systems like this… surveillance was always his part. How are we going to do it without him?" You cross your arms and hum thoughtfully as you stare down at the prints.
"There's always Lev?" You suggest. Tetsurou frowns in concern.
"The kid?"
"Yea, I mean he was basically Kenma's shadow for a while before… well, when we were all still doing this together. He's not… he's not Kenma. No one will ever be that good. But I think he's our next best option." Tetsurou sighs at your words and spins slowly on his heel to walk away from you, slouching onto one of the plush hotel sofas and massaging a hand over the back of his neck.
"This doesn't feel right," he says quietly, and a frown tugs at your lips as you follow after him, sitting down next to him and knocking his hand out of the way with your own so that you can smooth over the tension in his neck.
"I know," you say softly. "But if we do this right, we'll get him back and it'll never have to be this way again." Tetsurou looks at you hard for a moment, like there's something eating at him that he's trying not to let out.
"Are you sure Kenma will want to come back to us?" He asks quietly. You hum thoughtfully.
"Hinata cares about the game, about making sure he always has the best hand. Getting Kenma was just part of that… making Kenma see that will be part of getting him back." Tetsurou frowns, looking thoroughly unconvinced, so you tap his cheek with your finger to grab his attention again before continuing. "When we got into this business, we agreed to play like we had nothing to lose - but then we did lose. And now it's time to get that back."
"If it comes down to it," Tetsurou says slowly, "if it's Kenma or the money, which do you choose?" You look at him like it's obvious, like he should know, by now, which direction your heart has always been pulled in.
"Have any of us really ever been in this for the money?" You ask rhetorically. He hums in agreement, but looks at you pointedly anyway.
"Hinata is," he says flatly. You grin.
"I know… that's what I'm counting on." Tetsurou just rolls his eyes at your assuredness and tips himself forward back up to a stand, making his way back to the table to look at the blueprints again while you sprawl out on the sofa.
"What about the money?" He asks over his shoulder.
"The $150 million? What, you can't think of ways to spend it?" You quip back.
"I meant before that," Tetsurou says easily, and your own lips twitch up a the smile that you can hear in his voice. "A job like this takes some serious financial backing. We'll need someone to fund it."
"It's already done," you say flippantly, and when he turns to stare at you, you grin. "Come on, I haven't been out that long. I know how to set these things up."
"So? How are we doing this?" He asks, crossing his arms thoughtfully as he leans against the table and watches you sit up.
"I called Yaku," you explain. "He chewed me out for a while first - he thinks we're idiots to try to do something like this -"
"Of course," Tetsurou interjects. You shrug in agreement.
"But," you continue, "there's also nothing he'd rather do than beat Hinata at his own game. He's on his way - his flight lands in the morning."
"So… it's settled then," Tetsurou says slowly. You nod.
"As long as we get Lev," you point out. He just waves his hand dismissively.
"He'll bite. What about Yamamoto?"
"I figure you can grab him," you say. Tetsurou nods and looks out past you through the tall windows and onto the endless flashing lights and neon signs of Las Vegas, the sun setting low in the sky and bathing it all in an endless soft pink.
"Are we really doing this?" He asks quietly. You follow his gaze out towards the endless horizon, to the light that leads you further beyond what you've ever done before.
"I guess we are," you respond, your voice low. "Looks like I need to take a trip to New York."
What Lev is really doing in New York, you figure, is both none of your business and beyond your sense of wonder. As he gets off of a subway train, though, he pats his pocket rather gleefully and expects to feel the outline of the wallet he's just pinched from some unsuspecting businessman.
Instead of the smooth, worn leather, though, he pulls out a note - a little card that says nice pull! and has the location for a diner nearby scrawled onto it. Lev isn't stupid - he knows your writing when he sees it, knows a job when one comes walking up to him. He tells himself that he's going to say no, that he's only going to meet you to see what you're up to and then he'll leave… because he knows now. He knows better than to get involved with the three of you.
But then he's sitting across from you and you've got those hungry, burning eyes and that wicked, sharp smile and he can feel himself being pulled further, further, too far in.
"You can't rob a casino," he says bluntly, but you just smile in that wicked way of yours.
"It's Hinata's," you point out. Lev stares at you.
"You can't… go up against Hinata," he says haltingly. You cock your head to the side and pout in mock sympathy.
"What, you afraid of losing to him?"
"I won't lose against Hinata Shouyou," Lev snaps, and you smile like a wolf that's just caught its prey.
"Do you want to come prove it, then?" You push, but Lev just sighs and looks at you wearily.
"The last time I got involved in a job with the three of you, I watched you get hauled off to prison and Kenma disappeared," he says quietly. You grow sombre at his words, reaching forward to flick him on the forehead where his eyebrows are pulled together in a comforting sort of way.
"I know, Lev," you say quietly. "But it's not going to happen twice. We're going to beat him this time." Lev groans a bit and runs a hand through his hair and you know that you've got him, leaning back in your chair as you wait for him to cave.
But then he pulls out the plane tickets that he'd snatched from your pocket earlier to look at them and you arch a brow.
"That's your best lift yet," you say honestly. He smiles a bit, a sly sort of thing, before sliding one of the tickets into his coat pocket.
"What can I say," he shrugs. "I'd love to get to play a match against Hinata."
By the time you and Lev are back in Las Vegas, the rest of them are already there in your hotel suite, lounging on sofas or sitting at the large table. Yamamoto, when you swing the door open, claps you on the back in greeting.
"It's good to have you back," he says it easily, but there's a softness in his eyes that makes you smile.
"It's good to have you back," you quip kindly. Yamamoto grins at the comment.
"Of course," he says easily. "It'll be nice working with proper villains again."
"Alright then," Tetsurou claps his hands together, gathering everyone's attention as you and Lev move further into the suite and he finds an armchair to settle into while you pull yourself up to sit on top of the table. "Let's get to work."
"We need to get this part right," you say clearly. "We need to know what we're heading into. There are enough traps and catches and twists with this to get us all locked up if we fuck this up… but if we get it right, it's $150 million split five ways."
"And Kenma," Lev chimes in.
"And Kenma," Tetsurou nods. A heaviness sets over the room, a weight born of the severity of your tangled, shared future as the sun begins to set outside, the purple glow of the horizon blending into the neon billboards of the city outside and flashing streams of colours over your faces.
"The first thing we need to take care of is reconnaissance," you explain. "Cash cart paths, dealer rotations, everything. Casinos are built to keep people in - know the quick routes out. Yaku and Yamamoto, spend some time losing some money there - watch, learn, remember."
"Yaku," Tetsurou goes on to explain, pulling a briefcase up onto the table and tapping the lid, "is taking a vacation to Vegas. He's going to spend some time staying at Hinata's hotel and he's going to hand this briefcase over to security - something about it being full of valuables."
"Being the excellent host that Hinata is," you say dryly," he'll offer to have the briefcase stowed in the casino's vault for safekeeping."
"That'll be me, right?" Yamamoto chimes in. "Yaku'll need a security detail to deliver the case for him."
"Exactly," Tetsurou confirms. "Hope you brought some costume changes." You laugh at the quip, mostly because you know Yamamoto does have a suitcase full of everything he could possibly need for things like this, before you continue.
"The second task is power. The night of the heist, we're going to darken the city - shut off power everywhere on the main grid. Tetsurou will take care of that."
"And" Tetsurou adds, "Lev will, of course, be taking care of surveillance. Whatever you need, we'll set it up here in the suite."
"It shouldn't be too hard," Lev shrugs, his sharp eyes flitting around your faces. "If I can get into their security system, I can watch all the feeds from here and pull you out if things start to go wrong."
"Don't get scared, though, alright?" You warn. "No pulling people out unless there's no other option." Lev fixes you with a hard look at your words, a sternness in his face and voice that isn't often heard from him.
"I'm not letting anyone get caught doing this. Not this time." The room, at that, gets quiet as the sun dips lower, darkness beginning to roll over the hotel suite. Tetsurou flicks on the light switch on the wall and the artificial, yellow glow illuminates Lev's hard gaze and the way you press your lips together.
"We're not going to get caught," you say firmly.
"And I'll make sure of it," is Lev's answer.
The night does, naturally, grow a bit sombre after that, the plans poured over a bit more meticulously as everyone turns over, in their heads, the unspoken truth. If this job goes wrong, if someone ends up in jail… it'll be the last one. Game over. There are no do-overs left here for any of you.
It's late in the evening when Kenma sits in one of the many, many restaurants in his partner's casino, checking his watch yet again. He can't really find it in himself to be surprised - Hinata's always late, always caught up on running the business and winning the game.
Kenma wonders, in a depressed, sullen sort of way and certainly not for the first time, if he just traded one shitty hand for another, never really getting out of this endless match. He knows, as he stares at the date on his phone, that you're free these days, that you're out of prison and on parole. It's much to his own bitter disappointment that he's counted down the days since your release - he didn't want to, really, but he just couldn't seem to help it.
He's swirling the water in his glass, watching the condensation trickle down the sides and onto the expensive tablecloth and wondering why you haven't reached out, when you slide into the seat across from him - the seat meant for Hinata.
"Hey, Kenma," you say kindly, and it's like the world begins to cave in around him. Three years have gone by without him seeing you or Tetsurou and he could almost convince himself that he'd forgotten about you, that you were some figment of his past that time had crumbled away.
But here you are, sitting in front of him and looking at him like you remember how to love.
"You shouldn't be here," he says haltingly. "Hinata will be here soon."
"Will he?" You point out. "I'm not sure you're the type of person who ever deserves to be kept waiting."
"You kept me waiting for three years," Kenma snaps, and you purse your lips.
"You didn't wait, though, did you?" You say gently, your words making Kenma's heart stutter in his chest as he scowls and looks away. "I'm sorry, baby," you add, and Kenma looks at you like he's trying to forget how to love you.
"You shouldn't be here," he says haltingly, and you sigh slowly.
"Hinata's no good for you. You know that, right?"
"Hinata's… safe. He's reliable and consistent and he'll be here any minute," Kenma responds, his voice wavering. You fix him with a disbelieving look.
"How reliable is a man who's never even on time for a date?" Kenma opens his mouth to retort, but then snaps it shut when he realizes he has no defence. You just sigh again in a long-suffering sort of way and stand, taking his hand in yours to press one gentle kiss to his knuckles before bidding him farewell.
"Wait!" Kenma stands in a rush as you turn to leave. "What are you planning?"
"What do you mean?" You ask innocently. He rolls his eyes at the act.
"You don't give up… not like this. Tell me what you're going to do."
"I don't know who you think I am, baby," you say honestly. "I won't pretend that I don't want you back - but I don't take… not like this." With that, you turn to leave again, but your name passing through Kenma's lips has you pausing once more.
"How's… how's Tetsurou?" He asks quietly.
"He misses you," is your simple response before you walk away, missing the way that Hinata shows up next to Kenma, a caring hand on his lover's waist as he scowls at your retreating figure.
"Uh, hey…" Lev says slowly, worry making his voice tight. "I think we have a problem."
"What's wrong?" Tetsurou says from his spot on one of the hotel suite sofas, the rest of you lounging around.
"Aw, I've been caught," you say easily from where you're looking over Lev's shoulder at one of computer monitors.
"Yea," Lev says heavily. "You've been flagged by the casino as an ex-con." Yaku snorts.
"Hinata's flagged you as Kenma's ex. This is just to make it official," he quips from where he's sitting with his legs thrown over the arm of one of the sofas.
"Either way," Lev points out, "the minute you step foot into that casino, you'll be trailed and monitored by security the entire time"
"Good," you say, patting Lev on the back as he frowns. "That's all we were waiting for… Now it's time to really get to work."
"Ok, now remember - Yaku's only got 30 minutes of breathing room in that thing, so we have to be quick about this," Lev says quietly from his place in the hotel suite, his eyes trained on the various screens around him that are showing security feeds from around the casino. Yamamoto doesn't answer, although Lev knows he's heard the comment from the glance he sends to the nearest security camera as he wheels a cash cart through the casino.
Lev does sort of wonder, for a minute, how Yamamoto managed to get his hands on one of the casino staff uniforms, but then you walk in through the front doors and he's distracted. Fortunately, the casino security is also momentarily distracted enough to glance past Yamamoto wheeling the cart through to the staff area and down towards the vault below.
"Are we sure this is a good idea?" Lev asks nervously as he watches security approach you on the cameras, two men grabbing you and hauling you off the casino floor and away from the guest area. "They're heading to the cameras' blind spot."
"Trust me," Tetsurou says comfortingly, clapping a hand on Lev's back. "Our guy's already in there."
"Your guy?"
"He's an old friend. We'll just owe him a favour after this," Tetsurou says easily before checking his watch. "Alright, I'm out of here… take care of us, Lev." Lev opens his mouth to respond, to promise, to plead, to beg for nothing bad to happen, but Tetsurou's already gone and he's alone, watching the game of it all through the safety of his computer screens.
As you get escorted by security into a back room, you note that it looks a bit like an interrogation room and that, funnily enough, there are no cameras to be seen. A bruiser comes in after you, someone big and intimidating as he locks the door behind him and rounds on you, cracking his knuckles.
"Hey, Bo," you say easily, grinning as you sit on the cool, metal table. "How's Akaashi?" Bokuto's smile matches yours as he pulls you into a crushing hug.
"Didn't you get his letters?" He asks as you part. "You owe us a visit now that you're out."
"I did get them - every one," you say as you stand up on the table, reaching towards the ceiling. "And after this - fuck, I'll owe you two a vacation for helping us out." Bokuto reaches up to help you pop out the panel of the ceiling vent so that you can begin to haul yourself up and into the dark, endless tunnel. He lets you prop a foot up on his shoulder, hoisting you up and into the vent before lifting the grate to pop it back in place.
Before he hands it to you, though he stops, frowning with his brows furrowed as he says your name slowly.
"Make sure you get all the way to the finish line this time," he says quietly. "I don't want to see my friend hauled off in handcuffs again."
"I promise," you say easily, fixing him with a genuine smile. "This time… this time, we've got it."
"Alright, time to cause a scene," Lev says into his mic, knowing Yamamoto's heard him when he grins a bit wickedly. He's stowed the cash cart successfully in the vault and is making his way back out onto the casino floor in regular, civilian clothes when Lev gives the heads up.
Fortunately, there's no one who can cause a commotion like Yamamoto, and he's yelling and swearing up enough of a storm that security gets involved, escorting him out of the casino and drawing enough attention that Lev can successfully put the elevator camera feeds on a loop, giving Tetsurou the perfect opportunity to slip in and pop the vent panel out.
You're there, of course, holding out a hand to haul him up and out of the elevator and then pop the grate back into place successfully - and Lev lets out a sigh of relief when it all goes down so smoothly in the time that it takes for security to kick Yamamoto out of the casino and get themselves back on track.
"How's Bokuto?" Tetsurou asks in the quiet darkness of the elevator shaft.
"Oh, he's great," you say easily. "Hey, why didn't you send me letters when I was in prison?" Tetsurou shoots you a bemused sort of look as the two of you begin to set up cords to belay down the elevator shaft towards the vault.
"Is that really what you want to talk about right now?" He asks distractedly.
"Yes," you answer immediately, tugging on your cord to test it. "I didn't hear from you for three years."
"Because…" Tetsurou falters, staring down at the endless darkness of the elevator shaft, at the pitch black that wraps around the two of you, at the three years of his life with you that just… slipped away. "Because I love you," he says simply.
"What, you loved me enough to leave me?" You say, not bothering to hide the sharp pain in your voice.
"I loved you enough for it to make me act like an idiot," he says back honestly, his voice catching. "I still do. Otherwise, I wouldn't be hanging from the top of an elevator shaft with you."
"Hm, I suppose," you say, unconvinced. Tetsurou throws you a long-suffering look, but you can't see it through the darkness. Lev's voice crackles through your earpieces and disrupts whatever it is that you've started with your question.
"Uh, guys…" he says hesitantly. "Not to interrupt, but we're good to cut the power here." Tetsurou makes an embarrassed sort of noise through the darkness and you laugh.
"Do it," you command, and Lev announces it through everyone's earpieces before power throughout the entire casino cuts out.
"You've got fifteen seconds before the generators kick in and the motion sensors are back online, you've gotta go now," Lev says. You and Tetsurou take the command, belaying down the elevator shaft, through the endless darkness until you hit bottom.
Lev watches, on the cameras, as the casino's sent into complete disarray during the blackout and uses the moment to set all of the vault security cameras onto a looped feed while you and Tetsurou give him the heads up that you've reached the bottom of the elevator shaft.
As you pry open the doors and climb out into the hallway leading to the vault, Yaku climbs out of the cash cart that Yamamoto has stowed in there, pulling himself up onto the counter in the middle of the space. He rolls his neck, his muscles tense from having squeezed into the cart, as he spots the briefcase that had been stowed earlier that week.
Clicking open the briefcase carefully, he takes the explosive charges out slowly so that he can stick them to the vault door one by one, knocking on the metal as he places them.
Just outside of the vault, you and Tetsurou stand and stare at the large, looming, metal door.
"There's a 5'4, 140lbs man with $150 million on the other side of this door," you say as you place your hand on the cool metal.
"Yea," Tetsurou says easily. "…Let's get him out. Now." He opens the duffle bag that he's brought with him, pulling out matching explosive charges and listening for Yaku's knocking so that he can line up where he's placing them.
"Count us down, Lev," you say quietly and Lev switches over to the vault security cameras, watching as Yaku bends himself to climb back into the cash cart, trusting the altered metal exterior to protect him from the blast.
"Counting down now," Lev begins. "10, 9…"
"This is it, you know," you say to Tetsurou as the two of you stand in the vault's hallway, backing up further and further toward the elevator door and listening to Lev count down to one. "There's no going back after this." Tetsurou grabs your arm gently, pulling you against him and tangling a hand into your hair as he kisses you firmly. You make a small noise of shock as he does, but your hands find his chest to smooth up his shirt and you let him kiss you - you realize, your head a bit fuzzy, that you'll always let him do what he wants.
"No one I'd rather do it with than you," he says quietly when you part.
"Except for Kenma," you point out, a smile tugging at your lips. He laughs just as Lev's countdown hits one.
"Except for Kenma." With that, the vault door blows and you watch Yaku climb back out of the cash cart amidst the smoke, remarkably unscathed.
"Alright," you say briskly, stepping into the vault and reaching for Tetsurou's duffle bag, pulling endless empty bags out of it. "Now for the real trick."
Kenma sits at one of the many bars in his partner's casino, swirling his drink endlessly around and around and around in his glass while he waits for Hinata to return to him and he wonders, sort of dully, when his life became this cycle.
But he supposes that he can't really blame Hinata - not this time when then the power's just been cut and he's scrambling to regain control of his establishment. But it's not like this is the first time he's been left waiting, Kenma thinks dryly, and he doubts it will be the last.
Hinata is just finally walking up to him, a tense, focused look on his face, when Kenma's phone begins to ring. He answers it as Hinata slides onto the bar stool next to him and he whips his head around to stare at his partner as the voice on the phone asks Kenma to pass the phone to him.
"What's wrong?" Hinata frowns as Kenma holds the phone out to him, a shocked look on his face.
"It's for you," is all he says, and Hinata's frown deepens as he takes the phone and holds it to his ear.
"Who is this?" Hinata's voice is clipped, rushed and business-like.
"This is the man who's robbing you," the unknown voice responds, making him freeze. He stands abruptly, making his way out of the bar and towards his security area, Kenma hot on his heels.
"Show me the vault," he snaps at the employee who's monitoring the camera feeds and, once the man's scrambled to show Hinata, he'd faced with images of… nothing. It's just his vault, entirely intact and full. Bringing the cell phone back up to his ear, he huffs.
"What game are you playing," he snaps. "There's nothing going on in my vault."
"You're watching? Good," Lev responds just before he switches the security feeds, now showing video of three people, masked and in all black and hauling duffle bags of cash out of his vault.
Kenma falters at the sight, taking a step back and away from his partner. It's out of shock, Hinata assumes as he stares at the camera feeds of millions of dollars being taken from him.
"What you're seeing right now," Lev continues over the phone. "Is only half of your current holdings. As I'm sure you already know, you currently have just over $150 million in your vault tonight - we've taken just $75 million."
Hinata takes a step back, his heart hammering in his chest and his head spinning as the voice continues speaking in his ear. Perhaps, if he'd been paying more attention, he would've noticed Kenma slipping away, out of the security room and back out towards the casino floor.
"The other $75 million," Lev continues to explain, "is currently sitting in your vault with explosives rigged. You, Hinata Shouyou, will have your staff take the duffle bags out to the black van that's sitting outside your front doors. If you try anything… if you do anything… we'll blow the money left behind in the vault and the money in the duffle bags."
"Call the police," Hinata whispers, bringing the phone away from his mouth for a moment and watching as one of his employees picks up the landline, dialling 911.
"So, Hinata," Lev continues on the phone. "You can choose to lose $75 million privately or $150 million publicly. The choice is yours."
Lev, from where he's sitting in the hotel suite, spins in his chair a bit before intercepting the landline call to the police.
"Alright, get to it Lev, stop playing with him so much." Lev hears your words through his earpiece, but he can also hear your following laughter and the grin in your voice. He listens to Hinata agree to his terms and then cuts the call without another word as he watches, through the security camera, as the duffle bags are taken by the casino employees and hauled out to the unmarked van parked just outside.
On a separate monitor, he watches Kenma slip upstairs to the casino's hotel, going into his suite quietly. Kenma exhales deeply once he enters, eyeing the bed that he and Hinata have slept in, the mugs from their matching morning coffee sitting on the counter in the kitchen, the lives that the two of them have been intertwining together.
He paces and runs a hand through his hair and wonders, sort of desperately, who he wants to win this game and whose side he's on. He's no idiot - he knows Lev's voice when he hears it and he knows your plans when they begin to unfold. He recognizes the game that's being laid out in front of him…and he's trying to decide how to move his piece on the board.
As he looks out the tall windows towards the city beyond, the endless horizon and the open, deepening sky of the evening stretching on overhead, he feels a sort of spark igniting within him. It's an itch, a hunger that he hasn't felt in almost three years. It's the need to engage in this back and forth, to set up the trap and watch it all fall apart.
As Kenma stares out towards the endless sky, he thinks that maybe it's finally time to play the game again - he thinks that it's finally time to come home.
Hinata watches, on the security monitors, as the SWAT team that he's had his employee call for enters his vault, masked and armed and marching in - all three of them. But as they step over the threshold, the cameras cut out and an explosion is heard over the audio from the feeds, mayhem commencing in the vault. True to what the voice on the phone had said, the $75 million in the vault has been blown… completely destroyed.
Hinata inhales deeply, bracing his hands on the table in front of him and staring at the feeds as they come back online, showing the destroyed vault.
"What about the van?" He asks quietly, his voice burning as he speaks.
"We have a team monitoring it, sir," one of his employees pipes up. "But… the explosives were also set to go off there… I'm - I'm sorry, sir, but the money's gone."
But Hinata's already leaving, sweeping out of the room and stomping down to his destroyed vault. He blinks a bit as he approaches the blown-off, metal door, spinning on his heel a few times as he realizes, for the first time that evening, that Kenma's nowhere to be found. He swears under his breath as he approaches the SWAT team, deciding that his partner's disappearance is a problem to be dealt with later.
"Get out," he snaps as he enters the ruined vault. One of the SWAT team members turns to him, face hidden by their mask.
"We really should -"
"I said get out," Hinata all but shouts, and the person speaking takes a step back.
"It's your vault," they shrug before hauling their equipment bags onto their shoulders, gesturing for their team to do the same until the entire SWAT team is packed up and heading out, making their way up and out of the casino.
Hinata stands, vision blurred and blood thundering through his ears as his breath catches. This careful game that he's been playing, one foot in front of another for years, he's finally lost, and he staggers with the weight of it all.
He stands there for some time, clenching his fists and feeling his knees tremble before he calms and clears his head enough to really look around. It's then, finally, that he looks to his feet and catches a glimpse of the burnt, destroyed money.
But… he blinks. He rubs his eyes and looks again. It must be - no, it can't be. Hinata bends and picks up the charred money and looks around at all of the bills scattered throughout the vault and realizes that… there's no money here at all. They're just… flyers. Paper ads.
Hinata reaches into his pocket, fumbling for his cell phone and dialling up to his security room.
"Someone check the money in the van - now," he orders, waiting as he hears his employees scrambling to find someone who can run outside and check.
"Sir, it's - you won't believe this, but… there's no money here. It's just - the duffle bags were just full of flyers." Hinata lowers the phone from his ear slowly, tossing it onto the floor of the vault before sliding down to a crouch and burying his head in his hands.
"Sir?" His employee's voice sounds from the phone where it lays on the marble floor next to him. "What is - what does this mean?"
"It means," says Hinata, so quietly that he knows he can't be heard over the phone, "that I've been set up… it means I've lost the game." The golden detailing of the floor shines up into his face and the weight of loss sinks into him as he stares at the destroyed remnants of his vault door.
The SWAT van, as it pulls out and away from the casino, is largely ignored by Hinata and his security. But the driver takes his mask off and it's Tetsurou, grinning and laughing. Yaku and Yamamoto take their masks off, as well, and the three of them stare down at the big, black bags of money sitting at their feet, completely unnoticed by anyone as they walked right out of the front doors with them.
"Psst, Bokuto," You whisper as you shimmy through the vent and Bokuto perks up at the noise, climbing up onto the table to remove the grate and help you down from the vent before carefully putting everything back into place.
"Everything's going well?" He asks, his voice a bit tight with worry. You flash him a solid smile.
"Everything's going perfectly," you say easily. He sighs and lets his shoulders drop as you sit up on the table. "Ok," you say, tapping your cheek expectantly. "Land a few solid ones… make it believable."
"I…" Bokuto starts quietly. "I don't want to hit you."
"You gotta, Bo," you say breezily. "Come on, I'll give you a few million for it."
Hinata sweeps out through the blown doorway, nearly running to reach the elevator and leave the vault area. The night that you'd come to see Kenma keeps replaying over and over in his mind and he's certain - he's certain that this was you.
But when he finds himself outside of the interrogation room, he can hear the noises of the bruiser that he'd hired roughing you up. When he swings the door open, Bokuto has you by the collar of your shirt and a bruise is blooming over your cheek.
"Put them down and go wait outside." Hinata's voice is sharp and icy and Bokuto drops you, leaving the room swiftly without looking back at all. You groan a bit and sit up on the table, eyeing Hinata.
"Was this you?" He asks, his voice wavering with barely levelled rage.
"Was what me?" You say tiredly, feigning innocence. He steps closer, his eyes flitting over you as if he'll find some sort of secret hidden on you somewhere.
"Did you do this?" He asks firmly. You shrug.
"I haven't done anything tonight… yet," your joking quip has Hinata scowling, but he steps aside and gestures to the door.
"Get out of here, then," he says shortly, and you rise to a stand slowly, ambling your way out and into the hallway.
In his hotel suite, Kenma's still pacing and chewing his nails nervously, the golden glow of the setting sun shimmering over his yellowed hair as the phone rings. It's the hotel suite phone, he realizes abruptly, and he stares at it for a moment before picking it up and bringing it to his ear.
"Turn the TV on to channel 3," the voice on the other line says.
"Lev -"
"You're not supposed to know it's me. Just… turn the TV on." The call drops after that and Kenma stares at the phone in his hand for a moment before he turns on the television, flipping to channel 3 with dread coiling in the pit of his stomach.
It's… the casino's security footage on the screen, one of the endless, winding hallways of the staff area showing as you walk down it, nursing a split lip and a bruised cheek.
"Hey, just one question, Hinata," Kenma watches you ask - he watches as his partner tips his head back and sighs and stares at you with burning, hungry eyes. "If you could choose… if you could either get your money back or keep Kenma… what would it be?" Kenma feels his breath catch in his lungs at the way Hinata scowls at you.
"The money," he says immediately. "I want to win my money… I'm not here to win people." Kenma actually steps back at that, stumbles and sits on the plush, golden-hued sofa of the hotel suite. He watches as you press your lips together at Hinata's words and shake your head.
"That's a shame," he listens to you say, "because I don't have your money. Looks like we both lost tonight." Kenma switches off the TV at that, nausea rolling through his stomach as Hinata's words ring through him again and again and again.
The last light of the day's sun dips below the horizon and the city begins to come alive, teaming with the neon lights of the casinos and the billboards and the games and Kenma… well, Kenma's never felt quite so far from home. He's never felt, so acutely, like he's somewhere where he doesn't belong, and he feels a desperation tearing at him.
He thinks of your face on the TV, tired and worn and missing him and he stumbles to a stand, nearly tearing his hair out with the way he runs his fingers through it anxiously as he thinks of you and Tetsurou and you and Tetsurou and you.
He rips out of the hotel suite, slamming the door behind him as he tears through the hallways and down toward the main floor, nearly slamming into Hinata when he catches up to him. Hinata shoots his hands out to steady Kenma, his brows furrowing in concern, but Kenma's looking past him, his eyes trained on your retreating figure disappearing through the casino doors.
"Kenma, what -" Hinata begins, but Kenma's sharp, hurt gaze falling onto him makes him clamp his mouth shut.
"You, of all people, Hinata," Kenma begins, his voice hard and firm, "should know when you've lost the game." That's all it takes for Hinata's grip on his arms to loosen enough for Kenma to shake him off, all but running out towards the front doors of the casino and after you.
"Wait!" Kenma's voice catches as he breaks out into a run just outside of the casino doors, watching two police officers cuff you beside their car. "Wait! That's my - that's my partner, just wait." You stumble for a moment at his voice before whipping your head around to stare at him as you're led to the back of the cop car, the door slamming closed behind you.
Kenma stands, breathless and desperate on the sidewalk, as he watches the lights of the police car disappear into traffic. There's a panicked stuttering in his heart as he considers that this is the second time this has happened - this is the second time that he's watched his home disappear in front of his eyes, leaving him alone and reeling and with nothing other than the endless sky to guide him.
"It's just for violating parol," Tetsurou's voice has Kenma spinning around and he sees the man standing, leaning against a fence with his hands shoved into the pockets of his suit.
"Tetsurou?" Kenma says weakly. Tetsurou just smiles in that comforting, sturdy way of his and stands fully so that he can walk to his partner. Kenma, in turn, walks to him as if he can't help it, as if he's being tugged by some invisible red thread that bonds the three of you together.
"It's just for violating parol," Tetsurou says again, smoothing a comforting hand over the back of Kenma's head, taming the hair that's begun to tangle from him nervously running his hands through it. "They'll be out in… three months, probably."
"I'll wait," Kenma says quickly, staring down the endless, sprawling road that the police car had disappeared down. "I'll wait for them this time." Tetsurou hums with a comforting sort of understanding and wraps an arm around Kenma's shoulders.
"I know you will," he says softly, and Kenma looks up at him with teary, pained eyes.
"It'll be different this time, won't it?" He asks quietly, his voice wavering. Tetsurou looks out towards the vast city and the endless road and huffs out a breath.
"I guess this is all how it started, isn't it?" He muses. "What, with them disappearing and the two of us having to try to pick up the pieces? "
"Tetsurou," Kenam says earnestly, and Tetsurou stoops down to press a gentle kiss to the crown of his head.
"It'll be different this time," he assures. "It'll be different."
You hope, sort of desperately, that it really is different this time when you're released once again, three months from that night. Sure enough, it's Kenma who's leaning against the prison gates when you walk out, his hands stuffed in his pockets and his hair pulled back.
You cock your head to the side as you walk up to him, angling your gaze around him to spot Tetsurou asleep in the backseat of the car.
"Just checking," you say as you shrug, turning to face Kenma again. He snorts, rolling his eyes and tugging you by your collar to pull you in enough that he can press a hard kiss to your lips. You make a small, startled sort of noise, but reach to tangle your hands in his hair, nonetheless, as he palms at you and presses you against the prison fence.
A car honking abruptly pulls the two of you away from each other and you look out toward the parking lot to see Tetsurou awake, leaning over into the front seat to lay on the horn as he scowls at you. You laugh, a loud and honest thing and tangle Kenma's fingers with your own as you pull him to the car.
"Come on," you say easily as he grumbles under his breath, a blush spreading up his cheeks as the two of you slide into the car, him taking the passenger seat while you sprawl out in the back, Tetsurou having climbed over the center console to take the driver's seat.
"So," he asks, starting the engine and looking at you through the rearview mirror. "Where to?"
"Well," you drawl, sitting up and leaning forward between the two front seats to press matching kisses to their cheeks. "We can go anywhere we want these days."
Tetsurou laughs and pulls out of the parking lot, travelling down endless, winding roads as the sun shines overhead, bathing the three of you in a vast, golden glow.
"You know what I've been thinking," you snap your fingers, causing Kenma to raise a brow suspiciously as he glances back toward you. "We've gotta get Lev in on more jobs… he wasn't bad out there, I think he's got real potential." Tetsurou blows a large breath out and laughs, rolling his eyes fondly.
"Do you think maybe we could make it fully off of prison property before you start planning the next job?" He quips long sufferingly, grinning while he speaks in a way that gives him away.
"What?" You say defensively, your own smile giving away your happiness. "I'm free, I'm headed home, and I'm with you two. Can't I dream a little?"
"You don't have a home," Tetsurou points out good-naturedly. "You lost that when you went to prison for three years."
"I think," you begin, only half-jokingly now, "that home is right here with you two… right?" The two of them soften at that and Kenma leans back to press a kiss sweetly to your lips - something that you lean forward for until Tetsurou puts a hand on your head and lovingly shoves you back into the backseat. "If you don't put your seatbelt on, we might never find out how true that is, okay?" He says patiently, and you laugh at his concern but settle in and buckle your seatbelt anyway. The three of you sit in silence for a moment, letting the road disappear underneath the car and stretch on ahead of you and behind you as you feel, for the first time in so, so long, like you're moving forward in this life that you three share.
"You're quiet," you say finally, nudging Kenma with your hand. He looks out the window pointedly.
"We're all quiet," he says distantly.
"Hm, no," you go on. "You're different quiet."
"What's up?" Tetsurou joins in, tapping Kenma gently on the thigh as he sighs and shifts in his seat.
"I just think," he begins slowly, "that we shouldn't… give Lev more credit than he's due."
"What do you mean?" You ask, frowning slightly.
"Just that…" Kenma trails off, chewing his lip in contemplation for a moment before he continues. "It's just that… there may have been some times when he got a little… stuck. And maybe, perhaps, there was someone… helping him out a little. Just, you know, nudging him in the right direction… smoothing out some problems for him."
Silence blankets the three of you for some time after that, Tetsurou staring out toward the winding road as you, in turn, stare at Kenma, both of you wearing matching looks of shock with your mouths hanging open.
"Oh my god," you say eventually, tipping your head back to laugh as you lean back across the backseat. "Oh my god, we - you were helping us the whole time?"
"Well," Kenma says slowly, "not the whole time, but… I mean, for some of it… I guess. Just a little."
"Holy shit," Tetsurou says in a dumbfounded sort of way, still staring out towards the endless strip of asphalt. "Kenma, you… Baby, you won the game. You beat all of us."
"No!" Kenma says abruptly. "I didn't beat you - I was on your side!"
"Yea," you laugh, "but you still played us. You beat everyone." Kenma just blushes, grumbling about how it's really not a big deal and this is what he gets for helping people out as he crosses his arms and slides lower into his seat.
"Still," Tetsurou says as you giggle, "you're right - we should bring Lev in on more… the other two, too."
"Speaking of…" you say, clapping Kenma on the shoulder comfortingly. "$150 million split six ways instead of five is still pretty fucking good. Besides… there's always the next job."
"Is this really what home is to us now?" Kenma asks quietly, but there's a brightness in his eyes, a glow hazing the air around him as the sun streams into the car, golden and bright and warm.
"I think it always has been, right?" You respond softly. "It just… takes us a long time to find our way home sometimes."
"Yea," Kenma sighs, looking to Tetsurou and then to you. "I guess it does."

When I was a little girl, I thought about how a prince would show up outside my bedroom window. He'd take me away to his castle and marry me, treating me with kindness.
Then we'd live happily ever after, just like in the movies.
However, the hardships that came with being a princess made me think that I could handle them. As it turns out, that's not how life is at all.
Not at all.
Plenty of hardships are thrown at you left and right. and it's all about how well you deal with it.
As I got older, my fantasies became more realistic. I wanted to live a small, easy life with the person I so dearly loved.
A small child or kitten running around, giving us entertainment.
Living out our lives to the fullest and being content with simplicity. We didn't need anything more or anything less.
That's how I've always imagined it.
As it turns out, life does throw things at you, but this one was one of the best hardships I'll ever came to love.
And it all begins at the young age of sixteen. A fresh high school student, worried about what people thought about them.
Their hair, clothes, grades, and sometimes even a boyfriend or girlfriend.
However, most of those thoughts got quickly brushed away. On a person's sixteenth birthday, initials will appear on their dominant wrist.
The absolute heart racing feeling full of wonder of who your special significance other could be.
Maybe it was someone who lives halfway across the world. Maybe someone who goes to the same school as you. Maybe someone you grew up with.
Or maybe someone you just happen to know from the internet.
Whatever it may be, they will be bound to meet. Some people say it's fate. Some say even destiny.
However, I just thought it was a clear misconception for me.
I had my dreams significantly crushed by four initials on my wrist. Oh, how I used to despise them—the hate that fueled through me when I looked at my wrist.
Looking back, it was harsh and childish. Life is unexpected; things happen. However, this one was one that's stuck in my favorites, even if it was the opposite of everything I always wanted.
I wouldn't trade it for the world.
The bedroom window was open a bit as the rain fell from the sky. Small devices lit up here and there around the room.
It was an easy night for all of us. Even Kōtarō was quiet, which sparked an interest in me. I was keeping myself busy by reading a book I had been wanting to catch up on.
While also laying on Keiji, who had been next to me reading some other kind of book.
Our beloved Kenma was in the next room over, streaming. The door was slightly ajar, leaving space for the blue rays of light to show on the wall.
I could hear small splashes of water coming from the bathroom. A small, unnoticeable smile gracing my strawberry-colored lips.
No matter how many times I knew water calmed that beautiful boy down, I couldn't get over it.
I had run the bath myself, even adding a few bathroom toys and bubbles, despite it being the late hours of the night. And despite that he was a grown man, we don't in this house.
If I had listened hard enough, I could hear Tetsu downstairs. The soft noise of most likely midnight snacks being made.
It seemed as if we were all content in the house we called home. A shiver ran down my back as I felt the soft breeze come from the window.
The skies were pitch black; if it were a normal night, I'd be on the roof with Tetsu and Keiji. We'd point out the constellations and watch the stars.
It was one of my favorite things to do with them.
If it were later in the afternoon and the sun was slightly straying from the clouds and the rain was soft, Kōtarō would be dancing in the rain with me.
We'd sing our hearts out, then get scolded by our lovely boyfriend, Keiji, who quite possibly seemed like the only sane one in the house.
Besides Kenma half of the time.
The days that it was sunny, and I wished silently that it would rain. Kenma would softly take my hand and lead me to the kitchen.
Even though we both shared the hatred of sunny days, we'd bake something.
Whether it be healthy or not, burnt or just right, muffins or cupcakes. So, our house constantly smells like a bakery. When we wouldn't feel up to baking, a movie was our next best thing.
On hard days when I felt like I really needed something to just get my mind off for a little while, Kuroo was my go-to person.
We'd run to the park and back, putting the stress into exercising. Sometimes, just sitting down with him on a park bench and watching everyone pass by was enough.
However, Keiji was by far the one who comforted me in a strange but loving way. He's the only one I'd talk to. I'd spill all my thoughts to, read a book with, cry to, and observe with.
Being very compatible with each and every one of them made life exciting and, oddly, calming.
"Are you cold? We can shut the window if you'd like." Keiji turned his head toward me, pausing his reading.
"I'll put on a hoodie," I said, shaking my head and loving the smell of rain. However, he knew that that would be my answer.
I'd always wrap up in multiple clothing layers instead of shutting the window.
It was a habit.
I crawled away from him as I watched Keiji place my bookmark in the place I was reading.
Slipping on my pink slippers, I walked out of the room, heading towards the clothing room.
Who knew that living with four other people would bless you with an enormously large house? However, the income we all made could quite possibly also be a reason.
As I walked past Kenma's gaming room, I peered in. My eyes were watching him a bit, I could tell even from when he was turned around that his eyes were glued to the screen.
Knowing Kenma, I knew he wasn't wearing his glasses that protected his eyes. He needed them now more than ever, since it's the late hours of the night.
Backing out, I quickly but quietly moved downstairs. His glasses were on the living room coffee table, if I remembered correctly.
When I was on the first floor, I moved to the living room, where his glasses were. Picking them up, I felt the coldness from how long they've been left alone.
The kitchen light on, curiosity peering through me. I peeked in at the sight of Tetsu sitting on the counter, scrolling on his phone.
He was most likely trying to figure out what we'd be feeling up for to eat after rummaging through our cabinets. God, he could be doing nothing and still look so handsome.
I smiled a little and headed back upstairs. Opening Kenma's door more, I could hear soft grunting from him.
Probably because of a level he was having trouble with.
Setting the glasses close to his keyboard, I leaned down and gave him a soft kiss on the temple. He nodded, his cheekbones glowing with a rouge pink shade.
That small peck meant, 'Please don't forget to wear them.' I could always express myself with small things without actually saying them to Kenma and Keiji.
Usually, I'd have to express my thoughts in a verbal way when it came down to Kō and Tetsu. However, I knew not everyone would be an introvert or just a mind reader.
When I left the room, leaving it cracked like before, I saw his game pause and him slip on the clear glasses.
I made my way back to the room, forgetting about the hoodie I needed to get. When I entered, I saw Kōtarō curled up against Keiji.
His hair was slightly dripping wet, making me cringe a bit.
I spotted his towel, which he had brought back with him instead of hanging up in the bathroom. I softly grabbed it and made my way to him.
He perked up; his yellow eyes seemed to shine a bit brighter in the dark.
"The water will make the bed wet, hon" I softly said, lightly ruffling his hair with the towel.
His arms wrapped around my waist as I continued to get the water out. Wetness and comfortable covers do not mix in my book or even on my book.
I could hear him sigh happily as I played with his hair, trying to get out all the water.
Glancing over to Keiji, his glasses were off, and our books had been set elsewhere. It's movie time.
Kenma would come from his gaming in around fifteen to twenty minutes from now. We'd all cuddle on the bed and watch a cartoon movie.
I walked to the bathroom, setting Kōtarō's towel on his hook. In a house of five people, organization was the best key.
After I cut the lights off, I walked back to see a movie picked up and Kuroo coming upstairs with our midnight snacks.
When I made sure everyone was comfortable in bed, I went to get Kenma. I could basically feel the exhaustion radiating off him. Knowing that he wouldn't get off the game unless someone actually got him.
As I got closer, I gently put my arms around his back. I did it every single time I wanted him to get off the game. I could tell he was fighting himself, wanting to go another round but agreeing.
Soon his system was off and his left hand locked in my right one, walking into our bedroom. We climbed into bed; the rotation was different this weekend.
Each day or week, we'd switch the rotation of who gets to spoon who. It wasn't my idea since I couldn't care less if I was spooning or getting spooned.
However, being the only girl it was kinda nice with everyone being bigger than me, it was kind of hot some nights too.
This time around, Tetsu was spooning me, and I happened to be spooning Kōtarō. After we finished the snacks, I couldn't resist the sleep, which called my name.
Since there were five of us, we couldn't possibly fit in a bed. So we decided to just get one of the biggest; even if we did spoon, I'm sure at least one of us would end up kicking another off the bed.
This has always been how our stay-up nights have been and I wouldn't change it for the world.
When I was a little girl, I thought about how a prince would show up outside my bedroom window. He'd take me away to his castle and marry me.
Well, now that I'm older, it's safe to say that I've got four princes who I was fated with. They agreed to live together with me, and the need to marry wasn't in our minds.
We all knew the reassurance of each other never leaving the other. But if one of us did happen to want to marry? I guess we could.
But this is the end of our weekend night and there was nothing out there that would make me give it up.

hi hi!! i hope your day went well. i just want to ask if i may make a request of fluff kuroo x manager with albinism? sorry if the request is too much ❤️🩹
Kuroo Tetsurou x Reader with albinism
— Summary: You are the newest manager of the Nekoma volleyball team, and you end up catching the attention of the team captain.
— Fluff
— Gn!Reader
You are someone who attracts a lot of attention at school because of your albinism, and of course your beauty and kind personality towards everyone was also something that helped with your popularity, but many people end up becoming too curious about their condition, which can sometimes come with some unpleasant questions and bad jokes.
But you didn't care that much about it.
Until a certain moment when a guy kept bothering you, and you felt a little uncomfortable and even tried to push him away, but the boy wouldn't give in.
But on that day luck was on your side, and a divine messenger of good arrived to help you, (although his appearance and personality looked more like a messenger of the devil) and this guy was Kuroo! He was passing by when he saw the situation and wasted no time in pushing the obnoxious boy away from you.
After this situation you thanked him so much that he thought you would short circuit, you wanted to pay your debt to him somehow, and he made sure everything was ok. But when he saw that you continued to insist, he had an idea.
"Actually, I do have something to ask you... if you're not currently at any club, you could be the manager of my volleyball team, we've been in need for a while and we've never found anyone who could be."
You accepted the proposal as quickly as the speed of light. And that's how you became the manager of Nekoma's volleyball club.
You didn't know that much about volleyball, so you needed to study a lot about the positions, rules, among other things, and of course Kuroo saw this as an opportunity to talk to you more. He helped you a lot in this regard, any questions you had he would answer right away.
The truth is that he finds your appearance very captivating, and if you have long hair you can be sure that he would fall in love instantly. But it wasn't just your appearance that the boy was interested in, the way you care about everyone on the team and your kindness certainly made you stay on his mind for weeks.
Expect a lot of teasing from him, as much as he likes you he wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to make a few sarcastic comments here and there, but of course, he would never cross the line with you or say something that would make you sad.
But even though he is like this, he is extremely attentive to you.
After he discovered that due to albinism your skin can be very sensitive, he always carries sunscreen in his backpack in case you forget to bring one.
One day your parasol ended up breaking, and as you can't leave the house without it due to the sun's rays, you ended up not going to school. And when Kuroo found out about this he ran to the nearest store and bought one for you, besides, he personally went to your house to deliver it to you.
And speaking of home, he always offers to take you home, usually accompanied by Kenma who always has his face buried in his video game so he doesn't have to hear the light flirtations that Kuroo throws at you (he hates being a third wheel).
I think that to some extent everyone on the team will already be aware of their captain's crush on you. And of course they would try to somehow help him win you over, and Kuroo reluctantly had to agree, even though he was scared of some suggested methods, especially advices coming from Lev and Taketora.
"Let's try to throw a ball at their face and before the ball hits them you throw yourself in front of the ball to protect them!!"
He certainly wouldn't follow advices coming from Lev and Taketora.
Instead, he would try to confess to you on a day when only he was accompanying you to your house.
As you finally finish today's club activities, Kuroo approaches you, sign that you were about to leave.
"Huh... Kenma isn't coming too?" you say looking around looking for the pudding head. "Ah about that, he said he wouldn't go with us today because he needed to stop by somewhere first." the boy says as he picks up your bag, an act he's already gotten into the habit of doing so you don't have to carry so much weight.
That was clearly a lie, Kuroo had talked to Kenma before that to make sure he was alone with you on the way home. But you didn't notice of course.
So you walked side by side in silence, today Kuroo was strangely restless, but at this moment it wasn't uncomfortable, it was a pleasant silence, as if being in each other's company was enough.
At a certain point, he stops walking, an act that you don't notice until he calls you. "[Name]" you stop walking and turn to Kuroo, who has a serious look on his face.
"I need to tell you something." he says nervously fiddling with the strap of his backpack. You wait patiently for him to say what he has to say, until he lets out a long sigh and makes eye contact with you.
"I've been wanting to tell you this for a while... But is it too late now to ask you out on a date?" he says with that smile that always makes you blush.
You are surprised by his words, as you never thought your crush for him would be reciprocated.
Embarrassed by the situation, you nervously roll up your snow-colored hair in your finger, but soon give a shy smile.
"Actually, I would love that..."
A/N — Sorry for the delay in posting this!! My exam week is finally over, and my vacation is about to arrive, so I'm going to be more present here!! 😆😆

more of dada's so pwetty pweaseeee 🥺
dada’s pwetty! pt.2
Includes : Kuroo, Bokuto Summary : Just a few daughters being enchanted by their dadas' looks Tags : fem!reader, fluff, domestic bliss A/n : I don't like the way Bokuto's turned out but... anyways. pt. 1
Whether it is a conversation between you and KUROO, the talking pigs on the TV or any other source that can show your two year old daughter the vast ocean of vocabulary: she loves parroting words that catch her attention. A habit that she has only recently picked up and that makes her jump and dance around your house, repeating the newly learned word like a broken record tape. Today's word is sponsored by the elderly lady next door who told the two year old that her polka dotted dress was very "pretty", when you two came back from a walk to the nearby park a few hours ago. Since then, you don't think there is a single thing in the household that she has not baptized as "pwetty!". Actually, there is something. Or rather someone. Someone who has been rotting in his home office all day long, writing and answering emails, and attending one video conference after the other because of an important upcoming sports event.
The creaking door of his office catches Kuroo's attention and he immediately feels a little wave of serotonin flow through him at the sight of his little girl. Her dark pigtails swing back and forth as she skips over to him with a bright smile on her face. "Hey there, sweetheart." Kuroo coos after having silenced his microphone, pulling her up on his lap. "Daddy's almost finished, and then we can have dinner togeth-" "Dada's pwetty!" her cheerful and loud voice interrupts him. Her dada is clearly taken aback, but lets out a breathy chuckle once he lets her words sink in. "Is he now?" he playfully taps her nose with his forefinger before readjusting her on his lap to press a wet smooch against her cheek. "Well, I think you are way, way, wayyy prettier than your dada." Both of them keep giggling and fooling around until they hear someone clear their throat. "I think we should end this call here. I'll email you further details." Kuroo hears one of his colleagues speak, and when he dares to look over to his screen, he notices how somehow all of them are... smiling? Some of them even wave which your daughter happily reciprocates. And upon further inspection, Kuroo notices a little detail that makes him smile bashfully before ending the call. He could swear he turned the microphone off?
Your daughter is a ray of sunshine, obviously taking after BOKUTO. She's a curious child, loves exploring the world especially when she knows that her parents are right behind her, supporting her through every teeny tiny step of hers. Now, when it comes to her looks she's a carbon copy of you, but her personality? The way she interacts with others, how she perceives people's feelings, how she handles her own emotions (she doesn't know how to handle them)- Yep, she's definitely Koutarou's offspring.
It's a quiet Sunday evening, with you enjoying a warm bath and your husband and daughter sitting on the floor and playing in her room. Various glittery hair clips and pink bows adorn the volleyball player’s peppered hair, and while he’s sure that he must look awfully ridiculous right now, the excited and self-sufficient grin that his daughter is offering him right now is definitely more than worth it. “And- it’s done!” she beams, finishing the look with a final butterfly-shaped clip to get her dad’s bangs out of his face. “Daddy, you look like a mermaid!” Bokuto gasps, his excited expression mirroring that of his daughter when he catches a glimpse of himself in the reflection of the window. “You’re so pretty!” “No.” he smiles brightly, his chest feeling so full of love for this little bundle of joy. “You’re pretty.”
A giggle sounds through the room when he leans over to tickle her before hoisting her up in his arms. “No, you’re pretty.” your daughter counters, her voice a tad more serious than before. “No, you.” Her nose scrunches irritatedly when her dad boops it, not minding how seriously she’s taking their discussion. “No, you!” And after countless back and forth, Bokuto’s eyes widen when she starts sniffling and her lower lip trembling. “Okay, okay, daddy’s pretty! I’m pretty, yeah?” he embraces her tighter while panically looking around the room as if seeking your help, knowing very well that you’re probably still in the bathroom. “No crying, pumpkin, ‘kay?” And while cradling her against him, lightly swaying from side to side, and watching his little girl’s drooping eyes, it’s obvious, and he has to admit also a little funny, that her distress was clearly caused by exhaustion. Though, he still believes that she’s the pretty one out of the both of them, even with her puffy eyes and snot running out of her nose, staining his shirt.

Studying Headcanons
Summary: Morning, afternoon, evening. The grind never seems to stop, but it can be a little less painful when you’re studying with your favorite Haikyuu boys!
Pairings: Oikawa Tooru x Reader; Akaashi Keiji x Reader; Kuroo Tetsurou x Reader
Genre: Fluff! No warnings.
Words: 1,464
Cross-posted on Ao3!
O i k a w a T o o r u
Diffused early morning rays bathed Oikawa’s sleepy face in a soft glow, making you want to give anything to witness the scene firsthand. The world shone brighter when Oikawa’s name appeared on your phone screen, even if it was 9 o’clock at night for you. He gave you a quiet greeting, and you smiled and returned the favor, idly flipping your textbook open.
It’s just a fact: being on opposite sides of the world from Oikawa Tooru sucked. These FaceTimes and phone calls were the closest you could get to being with him in person. Time zone differences made it so that you only had a couple hours of sacred shared time in a day. Therefore, you were determined to not waste a second of them. The second Oikawa began, so do you.
Ambitious, driven, and clever; it’s no surprise that Oikawa exceled in studying, and this was one skill he was determined to pass on to you. After complaining one day that you could never study well, Oikawa took it upon himself to become your studying mentor, showing you every tip and trick he knew. The biggest of these was finding yourself a study partner: someone who could keep you on track and encourage you, yet not distract you from getting work done. For him, it was Iwazumi. For you, it was Oikawa.
A mostly quiet but firm presence on your phone screen, Oikawa made sure you were working on what you were supposed to. The second you tried to scroll through Instagram or any social media, he would know, and he would tell you. It was honestly terrifying how he could tell, even if you were on your laptop. You two quickly fell into a steady routine, with him doing his morning routine while you suffered (a little less) in silence over your studies.
Of course, you didn’t spend the whole call in silence. Oikawa knew the importance of study breaks after all. Therefore, you were given the rare chance to see a side of Oikawa that many didn’t know existed. The quiet, reflective side that only appeared when he was most comfortable. The thoughtful chats over a shared cup of coffee (even if it was much too late for you to be drinking any), and the small, routine actions made you feel as though you knew intimate secrets about him.
Yes, studying with Oikawa had its challenges, but you wouldn’t change it for the world. And when you got an “A” in the class you were sure you’d fail, you also realized you found a bond deeper than you had ever known.
A k a a s h i K e i j i
Soft shadows were beginning to lengthen in the afternoon light as you stepped into the cozy café. As always, Akaashi was there before you, sipping some tea in the booth that was unofficially yours. After ordering your favorite drink and pastry, you settled in next to him, a mixture of happiness and anxiousness settling in your stomach. Happiness because, well, you got to spend the whole afternoon in a coffee shop that looked like it belonged in a Hallmark movie with THE Akaashi Keiji. Anxiousness because Akaashi was a harsh proofreader, and you were sure your poor paper would comeback with more red ink than black.
When you were first partnered to proofread Akaashi’s paper in your English class, you had no clue what you were getting yourself into. Akaashi proofread like there was no tomorrow, and the first time you got your paper back, you were tempted to scrap your whole idea and start over. Of course, Akaashi wouldn’t let you do this, instead patiently explaining all of his markings and reasonings to you.
Now, two years later, Akaashi was your number one confidant when it came to writing papers. From brainstorming to final drafts, he was your go-to and sounding board, and you acted in much the same way for him. Even though you were both in different classes and writing different topics, papers were still papers, so the fundamental process never changed.
You weren’t naïve enough to believe that continuing to meet your proofreader partner two years after the class was normal. Despite this, it was easy to consider Akaashi as part of your norm. From his calm attitude to sharp mind, he had crept into your life slowly yet steadily, like a trail of ivy resolutely climbing up a wall, exploring for any niches and crannies to cling onto and never let go.
After several minutes of searching, you triumphantly presented your paper to him with a grin on your face. It was crinkled around the edges, and one page was dangling from the edge of the staple holding everything together. Nonetheless, Akaashi accepted it in his way of respectful grace that you could never quite seem to master. In return, he unhooked his binder, pulling his paper free of its folder. Organized, crisp, and put-together: Akaashi’s natural modus operandi. The more you thought about it, the more it seemed to be a miracle you two got along at all.
Glancing down at the title of his final project, the paper he had been slaving away on for the past month, you felt a warmth that only continued to grow with each word. Your relationship didn’t make sense at first glance, but that hardly mattered. Happenstance may have helped you meet, but you were determined to stand by Akaashi’s side for as long as you could, exploring any possibility to come. Apparently, Akaashi felt the same way.
“Comfort in Chaos: The Beauty of Contradictions
A Memoir by Akaashi Keiji”
K u r o o T e t s u r o u
Silver streams of moonlight illuminated the library table you and Kuroo had decided to call home for the night. Wrappers of fast food long since eaten were pushed into the corner as diagram trees and flash cards created a messy mosaic, the white board next to them looking like the scribblings of a mad scientist. To the side, two bodies laid sprawled across the worn carpet, furiously solving the problems before them. During broad daylight, this behavior would have most certainly resulted in a reprimand from a librarian. However, due to the late hour, you two basically had the whole floor to yourself.
In a triumphant cry, Kuroo had reached an answer. Slamming his pencil down next to him, he waited with a satisfied grin on his face as you finished not a second after. After giving him an exaggerated eye-roll, you leaned over to compare answers, pleased that you had both reached the same result. With a quick high-five, you moved onto the next question in the practice test.
It was always like this between you two. Everything was a competition, from who could finish their problems first to who could get the most answers correct. When you had first met Kuroo, you found this behavior to be annoying at best. Always beating you to raise your hand in class, you had labeled him as a classic teacher’s pet and wanted to leave things at that.
However, fate had other plans for you. Forced into a disastrous lab where your third group member ruined the experiment and ditched halfway through, you and Kuroo had to put your differences aside to not fail your assignment. After several late nights of lab writeups and gossiping about your flakey third member, you found that Kuroo was actually someone you wanted to work with long after the assignment was completed. Thankfully, Kuroo shared your sentiment, and you two quickly became attached to the hip both in and out of the classroom.
Obviously smart to a fault, Kuroo was also incredibly charismatic and funny. It simply wasn’t fair. If you told him you needed to ace the next test, you could count on him to drag you through study session after study session, making sure you knew what you were supposed to no matter how much you wanted to give up. You admired that about him, that determination that seemed so much a part of him that it ran through his veins like blood. While you had great plans for the future, you could quickly become overwhelmed by the path you had set for yourself. However, with Kuroo by your side, you knew that you could weather whatever storm came your way, trusting him to always have your back.
A/N: Thanks for reading! I wrote these ages ago but forgot to post them until now. They were a fun little writing exercise for me where I tried to write a scene with no dialogue. I hope they motivate you during finals/test season!

you closed the curtains in your kitchen. the sun's rays were unbearable. cherry season has finally came. you took a bowl of cherries and left the kitchen, sat your comfy couch. you were wearing shorts yet felt like melting from the heat. the sweetness of the fruit made you forgot your problems for a moment. you were so engrossed that you didn't notice the tall figure approaching from behind you.
your boyfriend was stealing your cherries. you flinched and glanced at him. he just got out of the shower, his wet hair was tickling your neck. the scent of his shampoo made your heart race. 'they taste so good', he sat down near you while chuckling to your reactions.
'stop stealing my cherries you thief', you said to him with faking angry. he looked at your pouting lips, grinned widely. he wrapped his arms around your waist, mindful of the bowl near your body. a few seconds later you found yourself in your boyfriend's lap. you continued eating cherries after that you made yourself comfortable in his embrace. but then... he bit your cheek?
'what was that!', you tried to yell but your mouth was still full with cherry. he laughed loudly, amused by your blushed cheeks. 'sorry, babe, you looked so cute. i couldn't control myself.' your face reddened. 'i hate you', you mumbled against his chest as hiding your face there. he lifted your chin up with the one of his hands was on your waist. 'i'm sorry. here, you can eat the last one.'
your eyes brightened to his sweet offer. you took off the seed, put the cherry in your mouth and he started kiss you. it felt like a dream that you wanted it to never end. you wrapped your arms around his neck and he tightened his grip on your waist.
the sweet cherry kisses continued all day...
