Everything About Lorule
@ikaishere made some beautiful art of Lorule and so i’ve decided to spill everything i can about them. enjoy <3
> from hcau <
general/pre-hcau stuff:
i said earlier that Lorule’s 19 but i changed my mind!! he’s like 22-23 :)
ravio and her have the weirdest fucking relationship. there’s so many rumors about what’s going on. like they’re roommates. theyre best friends. they’re business owners. they’re married. they pine helplessly. they make out sloppy style. they’re afraid of the other rejecting them. they’ve been dating for years. they insult the hell out of each other. they wax poetics about each other. they’re in a qpr. they’re married for tax benefits. they’re in love romantically. they’re somehow both each other’s sugar daddy.
and then the truth is that Ravio’s very nervously working up the courage to ask them out. meanwhile Lorule thinks they’ve been dating for months. also they’re married for tax benefits.
Lo gives Rav a kiss on the cheek and thinks abt how much she loves his partner. meanwhile Rav’s like “haha. just bros being bros right??? 😃 he couldn’t possibly be into me right???? i have no chance??????” they’re sleeping in the same bed and Lorule’s wrapped around Ravio and he’s still convinced that Lo’s just a really friendly person
Lorule’s incredibly sweet and energetic and goes with the flow of things very well but on the inside the alarm bells are screaming 24/7. there’s so much behind those eyes and it’s called unspeakable anxiety.
she’s originally from Hytopia! he lived there for 14 years, but ran away to Hyrule after his mom died. yeah that’s right not only is this bitch a fucking ginger, they’re also french.
Growing up in Hytopia means that they’re good at sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, macrame, etc.
because of this, she’s got eye strain, minor scoliosis + back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and joint pain. they stretch and everything pops.
their accent is thick as hell, too. i have a fic that’s half-way written abt it that should be out sooner or later actually !!
before ALBW, she had a huge fear of heights and getting over it was really difficult. once she ended up sobbing while practically paralyzed on a floating, unstable, moving platform that was hundreds of feet above lava, just trying to get herself to jump off of it and onto the next platform below. understanding that they’re brave despite their fears is something he and Ravio are getting through together lmao
he likes marmalade. and birds
they’re simultaneously very very silly and jarringly blunt
they used to not curse much but Ravio’s rotten mouth wore off on them and it’s incredibly funny. once they tripped over a rock and let out the most vile string of curses known to man, only to get up and make direct eye contact with a horrified priest
their sense of humor is a mix of the worst puns in existence and incredibly clever innuendos or sex jokes
music is a crazy important part of Lorulian culture, so he and Rav sing together all the time :) he’s gotten pretty good at it too
speaking of Ravio, he’s got the worlds’ worst New Jersey accent. it’s the Lorulian accent but he’s undeniably got it the worst. overhearing him and Lo talk causes constant whiplash.
not a fan of ghosts or poes
he sleeps like a fucking rock. Gulley has to get creative to actually wake them up in the morning, because if he doesn’t she’s sleeping well past noon
BESTIES with Irene. they shit talk :)
he’s also very good friends with Zelda and Styla, and is in the process of forming a better personal relationship with Hilda
not necessarily the smartest when it comes to the more scholarly things. most of it flies right over his head lmao. Ravio has tried to explain politics to him several times and it’s never worked. however!! she’s very smart when it comes to hands-on things (and counting and measurements—those are essential to most crafts.)
complicated relationship with the concept of beauty. very very complicated relationship.
idolized the hell out of Oracle when they were younger. yes their mind breaks for a good while when they first meet them and realize he’s a total fucking loser jackass.
she’s always doing something. it’s both out of fear of being seen as lazy and out of a need for an outlet for their energy
fantastic depth perception
their map was their mom’s!! it’s crazy fuckin faded but he refuses to buy a new one
unofficially a part of the blacksmith’s family. it’s sort of like an open secret, everyone knows it but no one talks about it
he’s crazy close with Gulley, they hang out all the time. don’t let their constant teasing and playful bickering fool you, they would die for each other. they’re siblings your honor.
the blacksmith’s wife (i’ve named her Giulia) made her her clothes. Giulia might not be the best seamstress, but Lorule full on sobbed when she first put it on. something something, mommy issues and emotional healing, you get it
she does odd jobs and favors around town all the time. her off-days are spent roaming through Kakariko, sewing up holes in a clothes, fixing fences, delivering packages, babysitting, that sort of stuff. everyone in town is very familiar with and fond of him as a result.
hcau stuff:
out of the chain, they’re closest with Ages, Wild, and Oracle.
Ages because they’re both really creative people and Ages feels super comfortable around them because of his prior experiences with Ravio.
also. ok listen. i’ve been pondering adding a sort of tragic romance element to this au bc i am obsessed with the “maybe if things were different, if we were different, if we were in another life, we could’ve been” trope. i’m rlly interested in exploring the quiet acknowledgement that something is there accompanied by the quiet refusal to do anything because they both know that they’ll never see each other again once the journey is over. and idk man Ages and Lorule are kind of perfect for that 👀
regardless of if i pursue that route or not, their character arcs are very closely linked and they deal with and get through a lot of shit together :)
Wild because they’re both genderfluid and Lorule really admired their relationship with fashion. Wild rocks the most atrocious outfits with a confidence that’s an inch away from becoming hubris. also they talk abt magic jewelry and clothes together.
and Oracle because holy shit this hero i’ve idolized all my life is actually a total fucking loser in desperate need of psychiatric assistance i have got to help them. also Lo can sniff out a closeted trans kid from miles away. also also they talk abt magic jewelry and clothes together.
very good at conflict resolution. they’ve done the whole “working together” thing before and they’re damn good at it
because of how close they are with Gulley, they’re very good with the younger heroes. he doesn’t act condescendingly or keep information from them cause Gulley rants about how people do that to him all the time
heavily disagrees with how much Red and Prism sugarcoat things. she’s civil about it but definitely hates how slow they peel the bandaid off
after a big battle he’ll often volunteer for first watch, and stay up for second as well. he makes the excuse of needing to work on repairing tunics, but really it’s his anxiety going fucking apeshit.
they love listening to the others’ musical talents. they’re shit at instruments themself so they just sit there and enjoy the show whenever someone starts playing. and then of course Ages ratted on them being able to sing (Ravio had told him that she could during the war) and they were then promptly dragged into the shows
if it weren’t for Loft and their chronic fatigue Lorule would be the first to start snoozing almost every night
whenever the chain is in Lorule’s Hyrule and near Kakariko village, they’ll have dinner with the blacksmiths + Ravio
Wind, Wild, and Lorule band together to braid everyone’s hair. braid trains are a common thing to see during rests
there’s so much more but i can’t tell bc it spoils stuff so that’s it for now T.T sorry for typos

I got you (part 2) (its not very long, I apolgize)
I called this one: link and ravio build a shelf, I guess??
Long, hard days of work followed with a couch nap are always Link's favorites. He got everything done, found enough solace for sleep, and didn't even have to worry about dinner. His eccentric house leech (read: roommate) insisted Link rest while he cooked, and for a currently freeloading merchant, that guy could cook. It was a pleasant surprise how much help around the house Ravio offered (except for when he rearranged the furniture, Link hated that) considering his lazed (albeit charasmatic) introduction.
The things he tended to think of as he drifted to a blissful slumber often consisted of his rabbit themed companion, or his apple orchard, or his ever growing colony of bees. Sometimes, it was about what Ravio would make for dinner, or the meetings he had lined up with the princess. Never did he think his nap would be interrupted by the loud THUD of a crate being dropped against a wood floor. The hero sat bolt upright, alert and scanning the living room for signs of movement. His freeloader (roommate) had left under the guise of grocery shopping (the pantry was full enough yet Link had been too tired to be suspicious) so no one should have been in the house. Quietly, he slipped off the couch and crept over to the front door to check the peep hole.
Uh oh. With how pleased Ravio looked through the distorted glass, Link could already tell he wasn't going to like what followed the door opening. A sigh heavy with annoyance broke the comfortable silence, leaving one more moment of peace before letting his Lorulian counterpart in.
"Oh! Link! Good, you're already awake!" It always caught him off guard when the merchant bothered to use his real name. At one point, he was convinced Ravio didn't even remember what it was with all the "Mr. Hero" nonsense. "Do you mind helping me carry this in? It's rather heavy."
"This doesn't look like groceries to me, Ravio," Link said through a yawn, leaning down to pick up the box without a second thought. Look, he may be a grouch but he wasn't going to leave it for the merchant to handle. It'd scratch up his floors. "You said you stopped buying things by the crate."
"Well, in my defense, it was a great deal!" The merchant trailed behind Link, closing the door with a soft click behind him. Sheerow chirped, swooping past the two to land on top the crate. "Sheerow agrees. You need more organization, Mr. Hero."
"So, I was right. Not groceries." The hero rolled his eyes (fondly, mind you) and set whatever trinket Ravio found down in the middle of the living room. "Mind telling me what it actually is, then?"
"A cabinet. Very versatile, might I add. Not only does it have shelves, but multiple hidden compartments and drawers! With all the scary dangerous items you hoard-"
"Collect," Link introjected, crossing his arms with a huff.
"That you hoard, I thought you needed more places to put it all." Ravio was practically brimming with excitement, bouncing on his heels as be bragged about his haggling skills. Less than 400 rupees wasn't bad for an enchanted cabinet, but the distinct lack of one and mere presence of crate lead him to believe there was some — no, a LOT — of assembly required.
"Mhm, and where exactly is this magnificent cabinet you speak of?" The hero asked with a skeptical brow raise, groaning when Ravio gestured to the crate.
"It came with instructions, don't worry Mr.Hero! I'm sure we'll be done within the hour."
______
They were not done within the hour. In fact, it had been over 3 by now and the both of them were beginning to grow frustrated... well, Ravio was beginning to grow frustrated, Link was already there 2 and a half hours ago.
"Hand me an A-145 bolt, please," Ravio's eyes remained focused on the shelving infront of him, sticking a hand out to the side for Link to drop what he asked for in his palm. Turns out, being the Hero of Hyrule didn't automatically mean you were good at building furniture. As they found out in the first 20 minutes, Link sucked at building furniture, so his beloved (said sarcastically) house leech (said fondly) took over shortly after the frame collapsed.
"No, Link, that's an A-127 bolt. I've told you, 127 is in the blue bag, 145 is in the red," the merchant kept his tone light, but after a year of living together Link could tell when he was irritated.
"Maybe they shouldn't be labeled by slightly different numbers and look the exact same," the hero shot back, brows furrowed in annoyance as he fished out a bolt from the red bag. They were almost done, from the looks of it, but the abundance of extra bolts and pieces said otherwise.
"You would make for a terrible carpenter," Ravio said matter-of-factly, setting the bolt in place to secure. "Sheerow, remind me in the future that heros are not for building furniture the next time we buy something." The bird-like creature trilled from its nesting spot in Link's hair, ruffling its feathers before settling back down.
"I kill monsters and save kingdoms," Link plopped down on the floor next to Ravio, " goddesses forbid I'm not good at what's not my job."
"This cabinet will be more versatile than you, then, Mr. Hero," the merchant shot him a side eye, smiling at the hero's inoffense to his quips. "Could you get me the," he paused, picking up the instruction manual to check for the piece name, "an L-shaped board? It has a Y sticker on it."
The conversation continued, less tense than before when things breezed along faster. It was up until the last few pieces were things fine, as come time to put the top on it, it was the wrong piece. They were silent for a moment, Ravio turning slowly to face his counterpart.
"Link." Oh shit. "Please tell me that last piece doesn't have a Y sticker on it."
The hero of hyrule, savior of lands, renowned adventurer, and terrible carpenter brought terrible news the second he picked up the wood.
"We're gonna have to start over."
Give me a fic where Ravio and Legend are trying to put IKEA furniture together💀💀💀

uhhHH SO I may have forgotten to post SEVERAL fics
oops
so now I CAN put this to a vote ig?? 0-0 so like...... reblog or reply w your choice(s) or shoot me an ask or message XD I’ll choose the order based on votes ig.. the next fic I post is probably going to be the GhiraLink one tho, so after that this’ll be relevant XD
1. “Dungeon Crawler” - Vio and Blue get stuck in a dungeon and have to work together to escape. Lots of bonding, Shadow angst, and post-FSA goodness (SFW)
2. “Concussion Smutfic” - exactly what it says on the tin. Red/Green/Blue with highly dangerous not recommended ways of keeping Red awake until his concussion is stable enough to let him sleep, followed by Green/Blue fun XD I wrote this ages ago and haven’t had the courage to post it yet (NSFT)
3. the Vio/Red & Shadow/Ravio twoshot - I got maybeee halfway done writing this one before I went home for the summer and started my recovery break XD it’s *slow burn, pining, adorable goodness (SFW)
4. Red/Vio SW thing - again, what it reads on the tin but it’s an AU oneshot XD Red and Vio (and the other Colors) work for Vaati and are NSFT actors... so.. lots of kinks XD it’s a few paragraphs away from being finished and it’s likely a twoshot (VERY NSFT)
5. Dreamverse - ok this one is a collab that’s still in progress but it’s NSFT with a side of angst and LOTS of plot.. so... I am VERY excited about it XD I have 2 oneshots for it done but until the 3rd is complete I’m not sure if I’ll post any. maybe. we will see. but basically Vio is a lucid dreamer and starts making use of that skill ;D (NSFT)
AND THEN my WIP ideas are:
6. Vide Gaem AU longfic - 6~ years post-FSA, Vaati returns more powerful than ever and wins, forcing Vio to use a trump card he almost forgot about to give them all a second chance. but stuck in the past, Vio begins to see his first adventure with new (and horrific) realizations. very longfic, Vio/Red (eventual Ridow) and Green/Blue (SFW)
7. OLD RGB arranged marriage / bodyguard AU longfic - worked on this one in November/December 2020: Blue is a prince who needs to be married off for the security of his crumbling kingdom, but has a Big Problem when he falls for two people instead of one (in the middle of a war too, oops). background Vidow w/ espionage, lots of plot, VERY slow burn, and... probably won’t be finished XD but I am interested in posting the 15-20k I wrote for it XD (SFW)
8. Ridow Vampire fic sequel - yeah. gotta write this one. it’s on the list XD (NSFT)
9. “Midnight Shower” - this is prob the next fic I’ll be writing. the working title is VERY WEIRD I KNOW XD it’s Red/Vio university AU, where Red likes to sing in the rec center showers late at night and Vio discovers this by accident... and begins to totally not spy on (and fall in love with) Red’s singing from then on while trying to find him during the daytime by voice alone so it’s not weird when he asks him out on a date. suPER adorable *slow burn with Blue/Green and platonic BFF roommates Vio & Shadow
10. there are.. other secret WIPs too :3 if you know, you know. but I don’t know which ones I have yet to finish or post XD sooo gotta look into that oops. but there is one fic that I’m planning to write soon hehehe >:3c
11. I also have some LU fic/lets I have yet to post, oops...
if you like the sound of the WIPs lmk but idk when I’ll get to writing them specifically XD just nice to have an audience interest gauge!

Let me be a Part of your Heart
Ravioliweek 2017
Day 3 - Role Swap (Halloweenies included)
_______________________
Sherrow came flying franticly throught the window, pulling Links costume with such a force, he thought he was gonna fall. This could only mean that Ravio had returned hurt. Again.
That boy was such a lousy hero… No, he couldn’t think like that. Ravio was trying his best, even if his best meant he came home full of cuts and bruises. He was doing a better job than Link ever did, he just need a lot more training… that’s what he needs.
Sherrow lead the way through the swamp palace, to the rocks that would lead to misery mire.
The boy was intelligent, strong minded, and kinder than Link ever was. He had accepted him immediately when he discovered his true identity. If it was inversed… he actually didn’t really know how it would’ve played out.
Sherrow abruptly stopped next to a rock.
- Ravio, are you there? – he heard a few grunts coming from its direction. He could see his face, a bright smile in his direction. His leg was stuck between two rocks, it seemed they were exercising force on it. – Can you use your gloves?... Are you okay?
- I’m fine Mr. Hero, it’s just my leg. I don’t think I’ll be able to walk for a while… I tried using the power gloves, but I can’t do nothing from this position.
- Give them to me. – He took them and started instructing him - Okay, can you hold the smaller one? Good, now on my count to three, we pushed them off. 1… 2… 3! – With a few grunts they managed to take the rocks of him and Link leaned in to inspect his leg. – Can you move it?
- Not without pain. We better get to the witch, the one living with the fortune teller. She may have a potion that’ll make it heal faster.
Link picked him up. – Do you have any idea how long it takes to heal a broken leg?
-Too much, that’s for sure. – He took a glance at Link. – Can you make me soup after we get home please? I’m starving! I saved a sage this time!
Before Link could answer, Ravio saw the posters spread on the walls of the palace. – Link! Today is Hallows Eve!
-What? Hallows Eve?
-Yeah, the night of the spirits. We dress like monsters and other scary creatures and stroll around town to scare the evil spirits. There’s a fair every year full of the best pastries! We have to go!
-We? I’m not dressing has the enemy! Besides, I’m not sure you’re good to walk anyway.
- Fairies can do wonders Mr. Hero. You can keep the bunny costume you always wear.
- Sure, whatever you say. We aren’t going.
__________
Of course they went. It wasn’t even a question.
The witch had a few potions and fairies around. Of course, she had. Link should’ve know the universe wasn’t really found of him and Ravio would still wanna go no matter how tired he was.
Ravio was masked as a blue Zirro and he kept his dark green bunny costume. Zelda had given it to him before he had to leave her back in Hyrule to the hands of Ganon. He still remembered the panic and sadness of leaving her behind. She had asked him to look for someone from the other side to help them. He looked at Ravios excited face as he suddenly pulled him through the crowd. He hoped he hadn’t failed her.
He quickly forgot about all of his affairs, the colours, the lights and so many deliciously smelling food! Ravio kept pulling him too many different games, the pain in his leg almost forgotten. Cucco dodging, apple catching, shooting galleries, he never had so much carefree fun before.
Ravio was so happy to have brought him along. Link held Ravios hand in an affectionate way, something he dared not show. The luminous orange lights made his eyes so much beautiful. He was glowing. He wanted to embrace him and never let him go.
_____________________
They arrived at the arena where many large man wearing the scariest suits Ravio had ever seen were preparing to fight. So many people were coming to watch and bet, trusting into each other, making Ravio loose his grip on Links hand.
Link called his name but no sound could be heard in the blending of so many voices.
He was surrounded by people, warm giant bodies of flesh, only small flashes of light visible.
He fell to the floor, dust involving him.
He was too hot. To small. His hearting was beating errantly.
He was alone.
-Hey are kid are you okay? – asked a large man with a pig mask.
He screamed, tears treating to spill, bunny hood away from his face. The man tried to touch him, but he was too far gone. For in his place he saw another giant pig.
Grabbed the pocket knife on his belt and trusted.
He heard someone else scream. Someone was holding his hands. He opened his eyes.
-Link, are you okay? - For a moment he could have sworn that soft warm voice was Zelda’s. But in her place, holding his hands close to chest was Ravio. – Link, please speak to me.
He almost put a knife through his heart. He almost killed Ravio.
He ran as fast as he could. Away from there.
Ravio could only run after him, even with his leg in so much pain, he wouldn’t stop. He followed him to Turtle Rock, where he collapsed. They couldn’t go on like this.
-Mr. Hero please stop!
He stood motionless, suddenly turning around and screaming – Stop calling me that! … Do you have any idea how much that name hurts me? I’m no hero, I couldn’t save Zelda, I couldn’t stop Ganon and I almost killed you! Please…
Tears were spilling, fast and uncontrollable. In shame, he turned around and sit on the bay of the lake, holding his legs close to his chest. Ravio moved to sit down beside him. He didn’t know what to tell him or what to do. He had never gone through the things Link did. He had lived up to this point a peaceful life. He didn’t know the full story, but… he adored Link, he was his roommate, his friend, someone he admired.
He moved his hand to Links back, swaying it alongside. - I forgive you. – a breath – I know you would never hurt me on purpose.
Link’s movements stopped. Ravio felt his anger rise, he wanted to scream, but controlled himself.
-Why?
-You’re my greatest friend and I trust you. I don’t know what you’ve been through or how that messed you up… When I saw your eyes back there, I saw fear, pure fear, I can’t really describe it. It was almost like… you weren’t there. Like that panic took over you. You were just… trying to defend yourself against whatever you saw back there. – He looked back at Link, whose right eye was looking at him. -  I don’t know if I can make it totally okay, but I wanna help.
He took Links right hand in both of his. – I wanna try to…fix this. A..and if it takes saving both worlds to do it so be it. If I have to fight Ganon, I will. – “for you” lay silent in the air. Link looked fully at him. He looked so determined. He wanted to “save him”.
Link blushed and turned his face. A small smile graced his lips. He didn’t believe a word he said but, by the goddesses above, he was gonna be the end of him.
Ravio could never change the scares his past left. He could never erase the watercolours of blood at his feet in name of a broken royalty or the pains of battle. The sad eyes of a gentle girl who carried the spats and blames of kings and queens before her. The clouds of darkness in every step, every turn and slash of a sword to a cruel monster. The regret and shame of a laying bloody nobody as he watched his princess being taken away by such creature.
Her beautiful tears as she kissed his cheek goodbye as he parted to another world, leaving her in the dark.
- You may not believe it, but you’re my hero.
Link meet his eyes.
-You are so brave and strong. When I saw your face for the first time and you told you went against Ganon, I couldn’t believe it. You must have lived through so much struggle. – He turned Link to him, holding both of his hands. – And after all that, you still have patience for me. You still give me compassion, you try to teach me everything you know, you take care of me when I’m hurt.
- You know that could only be interest right?
-Come on, Link. If it were only that, you wouldn’t lay next to me when I have nightmares. – he chuckled – Or make me apple pies, because you know their my favourite. Go play octorock with me or laugh at my bad jokes. – Ravio’s cheeks reddened. – Or embrace me on rainy days, close to the fireplace with a blanket when I’m almost asleep. - Ravio squeezed both of Links hands. Looking at them, instead of the other boy, with a smile. - You are very special to me.
The moon shone beautifully on the lake, like tiny specks of stars, reflecting back to Links blue eyes. Only the wind could be heard clashing through the leaves. Only the goddesses’ eyes on them as Link gently touched his forehead to Ravios. They locked eyes, Link’s warm and sincere, smile so beautiful. Ravios breath was lost to him, both their hearts no longer theirs.
-Thank you Ravio. You are very… very special to me too. You are very important to me. – They started to giggle. Ravio lauched himself to his arms. Both faces flushed, both smilling, something pure, an emotion confessed without its name.
Lying in the grass in each other’s arms, only their laughter heard through the rifts of the waves. The bugs flying around them as their breaths become one.
_______
Thank you.
