Master Post of Stardust Veterinary Care: Shelter Visit

This is the full collection of ask and answer posts done with @ravenwriter16. It was a fun rpg creative writing that takes the characters from my alien!au: "Stardust Veterinary Care"

Dr. Sun and Dr. Moon goes to visit a local shelter to discover a wonderful surprise.

When compiling the list, I was surprise to realize this ended up being a total of 23 posts!

So I went through and added links to each one so anyone can start at the beginning without having to dig through my blog to find it.

Under the illusion spell unique to the fae, a little fox changing, the size of a small doll, stealthily sneaks into the great mage Moon's office/laboratory.

She quickly tries to find something, anything, that could help the poor princess escape from her overbearing fathers.

Especially from the mad emperor.

The near invisible fae was able to successfully open one of the once locked cabinets and set to work to.....

The rooms goes dark and candle wicks ignite, their small flames providing some visibility. Aun the middle of the room, a sigil starts to glow from the wood of the floor.

The small fae covers their eyes as the light becomes too much to bear. A loud high-pitched humming follows.

“Well~.” A voice is heard over the loud noise. “Now who could be costing my study this time at night?”

The light clears and there stands the Mage himself, red eyes holding power and knowledge of years and years of experience. His mana fills the room, much like a snake slithering around as he tries to find the intruder.

“Such a rude thing to do…and foolish~.” Moon chuckles, folding his hands behind his back and taking a few steps forward. “Whoever is here, know this. If you reveal yourself now, I will be merciful. If you fail to do so then…well it’d be more fun for me to not spoil the surprise so soon~.”

His mana moves closer to were the fae was, coiling around air as it moves. The fae moves away from the mana just in time for it to graze her heel.

Instantly, every trendil of mana shoots back to Moon. The mage slowly turns his head in the fae’s direction, a sharp grin splitting his lips, “found you~.”

(I don’t know if you’re still answering roleplaying questions for your Stardust Veterinary au, so if this bothers you please discard this ask!)

*a small human child looks up from the little den of blankets they’re mother made them. They look around the strange room and at the other humans walking and talking around the little space.*

*Mama had hid them as soon as they were born. No other humans knew about the child. Said child perks up, heading popping fully out of the blanket den when they spot their Mama walking towards them*

“Mama?”

*the human freezes and quickly looks over her shoulder then up. A big blurry yellow blob and blue blob was walking towards all the humans*

The child giggles

(Sorry this was so long! Still not use to roleplaying! Have an amazing day or night!)

(No problem at all. This sounds like fun! I'll let you know, I might always respond as quickly because of responsibilities and stuff. But I do happen to have a moment to start this.)

(So I'm going to say this happens at a different time than the current rpg ask questions. Simply because it looks like this ask seems to be taking place at a shelter rather than the vet's office)

Dr. Moontiedea and Dr. Sunafetia has made their monthly trip to the SuperStar Daykaair Shelter for check-ups of all the sweet little humans who are waiting for their new homes. This is something the two veterinarians love to do, free of charge, knowing how hard it is to get proper care for the residents of this no-kill shelter.

As they entered, they are greeted with a cheerful smile by one of the volunteers that they had met a while ago. The cosmodian with black raven wings and glowing green eyes takes them to the back where the humans are kept in an open space with individual cubicles that allows the humans to run around as they please while having some sort of privacy in their little nests.

As soon as they step into the room, many of the humans perks up and runs over to them in such excitement like they were the mascots of a large entertainment establishment. This is always Sun's and Moon's favorite part of their visit, seeing all the humans in their very adorable mannerism and features. Each of them as cute as the next. (But no one as cute as Stardust, of course.)

As Sun was playing with a particular wiggly one, his many ears picks up a tiny sound of giggles coming from one of the cubicles. He turns to look to see what it could be. He almost couldn't suppress a squeal of excitement as he sees a tiny kit hidden in one of the nest of blankets.

"Moonie. Moonie." he whispers to his brother.

Moon slightly reluctantly looks away from a pair of humans that is trying to climb onto his lap and ask, "Yes Sun? What is it?"

"Look of there," Sun quietly says while using his tail to point towards the cute little surprise.

Moon carefully looks over and sees the little kit just before the presume mama rushes over to hid them in the nest of blankets.

"Oh," he says. "It looks like we missed that one from our last visit."

"It looks like we missed them from the last few visits," Sun says as he carefully stands up after placing the wiggly one back onto the ground. "I don't recall there being any kits here before and that kit looks like they are only a few months old. And I'm certain that human has been here for a long while now."

"Which means her kit is long overdue for their vaccinations," Moon added as he also stands up. "But I don't think Mama will be willing to let us take them based how protective she's being."

"How do you think we should go about this?" ask Sun, as he tries not to look where the kit is hidden.

"Hmm," Moon says as he stands there to think of a good plan.

*Mama moves to cover her baby more as the blue blur comes closer*

“Not my little one!” She growls.

*The child squints, trying to make out the blurs better but having no luck. They still coo, trying to get Mama’s attention.*

“Mama-,”

“Shh!” She growls, “be quiet and stay down!”

✦“Easy there, Mama. Easy,”✦ Moon says in his calm lullaby voice as he slowly approaches the protective human.  

All four of his hands are palms up towards the humans, arms spread evenly on either of his sides.

✦“You’re a good Mama wanting to protect your kit.”✦

He takes another step.  Then a few steps to the side as the human keeps watching him with venom in her eyes.

✦“That’s right, Mama.  Keep your eyes on me.”✦

He leans in close, reaching a couple of his hands closer to the kit.

Meanwhile, Sun is stealthy sneaking to the opposite side, moving just as slow, maybe even slower, than Moon.  He gets down low and pulls out a tasty treat to try to entice the kit to leave the nest.

✧“Come here little one, come here sweetling,”✧ Sun says in a quiet voice as to not to attract the attention of the mama.

Then more than a few moments later, Moon suddenly shimmies his hands at a rapid speed…

(Child’s POV)

I freeze at the new lights around me. Blurry yellow lights that were softer than the other bright things in the room.

Cooing, I let reach out to where I think one light was. Squinting to focus better on the object, I let go of my blankie and wave my hands around, hoping to touch one of these pretty lights.

Out of the corner of my eye I see the big blue blur again. I tilt my head at it, squinting a tad harder

Moon kneels down so he can be face level with the kit, finally getting the chance to interact with this little treasure. Sun steps away to pick up the tablet to study the results, while Moon takes over keeping the kit in place.

In his signature lullaby voice, he says, ✦"Hello, little star."✦ He reaches over and with the back of his fuzzy fingers, he gently starts petting the tiny infants chubby checks. The kit stares at Moon in wonder, as if they are trying to figure out what they are seeing.

Moon hums. He lifts up his finger, moving it back and forth to test if the kit is able to follow it. And to their credit, they can, but their eyes seems to be squinting a lot and there seems to be a little crust on the edge of their eyelids. ✦"Sun? Does the scan say anything about their eyesight?"✦

Sun, in turn, does a hum as he looks over the results of said scan. ✧"Their vision is technically fine, but it does confirm my superstition that they do have an eye infection."✧

The yellow veterinarian reaches up into the cabinets and pulls out a small bottle of eye drops. ✧"This should help cure that easily. Can you hold them still, please Moonie? Hopefully they don't make too much of a fuse."✧

Moon picks up the bundle of joy, easily tucking them against his chest. ✦*pst-pst-pst * Little star, look over here,"✦ he says while trying to distract them by making silly faces at them.

(Child’s POV)

I sniffle, cries calming down as the yellow blur holding me starts moving. Something tickles my nose and I sneeze softly.

I look at the offender to find a strange yellow like thing that felt even softer than my blankie!

I reach out to the small yellow thing above a not so soft red blur. I squint my eyes as my fingers brush against the soft yellow. My eyes widen in delight.

I babble happily, moving my face to the soft patch.

(Uma’s pov)

I hate this!

Why did my clothes glow orange?! I by couldn’t I move?!

I want my baby!!

(I hope I got the color correctly! Have a great day and thank you again!)

Sun and Moon moves quickly as they existed the main area. The suit on the adult human glows orange as the restraints are activated once they cross the threshold.

The suits that the shelter has for their humans came from a different manufacturer than the medical version these vets like to use. And therefore these are more basic and doesn't have the features like gps tracking or keep a record of their vitals. This is probably one of the reasons why the staff hasn't noticed any changes in the female after she gave birth.

Moon was able to relax his muscles a little bit but still maintain his hold as the human seems have tucker herself out a little bit. But still growling her frustration at him.

✦“I know you're mad, Mama, and you want to protect your kit. We'll try to be quick,” Moon tries to reassure her by giving her light pets on her hair.✦

Walking in front of them is Sun having the time of his life twiddling his fingers in front of the kit's face as they squeal in delight.

✧“Now aren't you such a precious little thing. Yes you are. Yes you are,”✧ he says as he boops their tiny widdle nose, causing another bubbaly squeal.

Sun has noticed that the little kit is squinting their eyes as they try to focus on them. There’s a chance that the kit might have a mild eye infection or some other underlying aliment. He'll know for sure after the scan.

Soon enough, they all entered the bright exam room. The door shut securely behind them.

(Mother’s—Uma’s—pov)

It seemed like the world had slowed down as I watched my little one eat out of our captor’s hand.

My heart hammering in my chest as his moth spilts into a wide smile, showcasing his sharp teeth that were oh so close to my baby.

“GET BACK WITH INTO NEST!” I cry desperately.

I was too distracted to notice the blue hands behind me coming closer.

(Child’s pov)

I huff, tired from moving already, when I hear my Mama scream. I look over to find my Mama’s blurry form tangled with the blue blur.

I whine as I watch. Slightly bouncing up and down as I babble. Something was wrong.

Mama wouldn’t yell like that if it wasn’t anything dangerous. What was happening?!

✦"Gotcha!"✦ Moon cried as he quickly takes hold of the frantic human. He had to use all four of his hands to secure the human against himself while pinning her arms and legs to make it impossible for her to escape or to do injuring to the human and himself.

She screams in his arms, using any strength she has to get to her kit. It was like wrestling with a beast five times her size. Moon tries his best to calm her, knowing nothing he could say would help but does so anyway. ✦"It's okay, Mama. It's okay. We're not taking them away from you. We just need to-*omph*"✦ She did a particularly good kick to his stomach, but his hold is still firm.

Meanwhile, the little kit's whining turns into full out crying hearing their mama in such distress, not understanding what is going on.

✧"Shhh, shhh, shhh, little one. It's okay. Moonie isn't hurting Mama."✧

Sun gently picks up the little kit, fitting easily into two of his hands like it was their personal bassinet. He moves them to have them lay against his chest, hoping his heartbeat would help calm them down. ✧"Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh,"✧ he continue to coos as he stands up.

✧"I got them Moonie, lets hurry to the examine room before Mama gets loose."✧

Moon gruffs, ✦"Easier said than done."✦

(Child’s pov)

I giggle as Mama jumps at the blue blur. She was growling, something she did when we played!

Looks like she found someone new to play with!

I stop giggling and wiggle my nose. Something smelled really good!

I grunt softly as I turn on my tummy, tightly clutching my favorite blankie before crawling towards the opposite edge of the den.

I squint at the yellow blur, hearing it make some type of hushed sound. I zero in on the sweet scent and coo.

I climb fully out of the nest for the first time. I’m distracted slightly by all the new sights that aren’t blocked by blankets anymore

✧"That's it. Come to me little one,"✧ Sun continues to coo while Moon is trying not to get bitten by the mama.

The adult human lunges at Moon as she snaps her teeth merely a few inches from his fingers.

✦"Easy, Mama. Easy,"✦ Moon says as he slowly reaches around the rightfully aggressive human, keeping one of his hands in front of her as if offering a sacrifice.

Meanwhile, the little kit crawls out of the makeshift den, as naked as the day they were born, clutching a scrap of cloth in their cute tiny hands. Looks like they will be needing to be outfitted with a new suit as well. That can be easily taken care of once they get them and their mama to the examination room.

✧"My my. Look how strong you are. Crawling so determinedly for this tasty snack. Mama must of taken very good care of you,"✧ Sun giggles as the kit gets even closer to him, farther away from the nest.

Finally, the kit got close enough to start nibbling on the very soft tasty treat, reaching up one of their hands to grab onto Sun's ginormous fingers for stability.

Sun just couldn't help but let out a too loud, ✧"Awwwwww."✧

That's when the mama notice the other alien, turning her head to see her kit is in danger.

Moon took this opportunity to quickly go and grab her...

Raven smiles brightly at their offer, wings puffing up. She shifts the humans in her grip so that she can give a one arm hug to both Sun and Moon.

Artemis wakes up, then coos at Uma, who gives her a warm look. Then the kit starts gnawing on Raven's fingers

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! I won't let you down!"

She pulls away, looking down at Uma and Artemis, "Did you hear that you guys?! I get to take you home with me! Isn't that amazing?!"

Uma gives her a small smile while Artemis continues to teethe.

"I'll have to tell my roommate, and I'm sure he'll love you guys to death!"

Raven continues to rabble on and on about what she can do to help make her two new humans comfortable, while turning and heading to the shelter's sign-out desk.

Sun and Moon are more than happy to hear that Ms. Raven has agreed to take in the two humans for the time being. And who knows, the way she is talking up a storm with them, it might end up as a foster-fail and she ends up adopting them.

Before they left, Sun made sure to set up an appointment for Artemis's next round of shots. And Moon gave Ms. Raven their contact information if she needs to contact them if she was any inquiries.

The brothers always loved visiting the shelter every month, but today must be one of their favorite trips they ever made.

"F-Fostering?!" Raven's outburst startles Artemis, who yanks down on the feathers in her hand.

Raven grunts, head jerking in the direction Artemis pulled. The baby cries, waving her arms around.

Raven quickly coos at her, using a high-pitch trill and rubbing the babe's back. They quiet down and Raven lets out a long sigh.

She looks back up at Sun, "I-I don't know if I have the qualifications to foster ANY humans at my home. I don't have any kibble, toys, or pet beds."

Raven looks down at Artemis who was now sleeping with their mouth wide open, slobber already falling out of the corner of their mouth. She rolls her eyes and sighs.

"And a human Kit is a handful..."

Uma reels back, looking offended.

Moon leans in and place a set of hands on her shoulder, causing her to look up to his scarlet eyes as he warns a warm smile.

✦“If there's anything I've learned in my career, is that humans are more capable than we give them credit for. You'll wouldn't be taking care of the kit alone. Their mother will still be with them and from what I can tell, she's been doing a pretty good job being independent and taking care of her offspring.”✦

✧“And besides,”✧ Sun chimes in, as he gives Uma to Ms. Raven, who took her into her own arms without a second thought. ✧“There's no one else I think is more than quality to help these two get a good quality life.”✧

✦“As for supplies, I'm sure Sun and I could help you get started. Doesn't this shelter already have a foster program? I'm certain would have no problem signing up and can also help you out.”✦

The black-winged volunteer looks around as they pace. She had saw the two Doctors leave with the Human everyone at the shelter called Uma, who was not known for her gentleness...

On top of that there was a human kit that they found! How did she miss them?!

As she ponders what will happen to her, Dr. Sun and Dr. Moon come into sight, Sun carrying a very grumpy Uma and Moon holding the kit while the small thing gnaws on his fingers.

She runs over to them, bowing as she apologizes, "I didn't realize Uma was pregnant! Normally I'm very good at picking up these sort of things, but she is very recluse and doesn't like anyone getting close to her!"

The volunteer straightens up, still nervously talking while waving her hands around, "Is there anything wrong with Uma? W-what about the kit? Do they have any illnesses from the other humans? does the little one need to be vaccinated? Do they--,"

She zips her lips shut when Moon raises a brow. Her wings behind her drooping

Moon's a little confuse why this comsodian is panicking like she is. Although he can understand her anxiety of suddenly finding out that there was a kit that no one knew about. She does seem to be the kind of person who would have a big heart.

To help alleviate her worries, he lifts the kit from his arms and gives them to the volunteer. Without hesitation, she took the babe into her feathery arms, her soft hands holding them securely.

✦“Everything is all good Ms. Raven. The little star just had a mild eye infection, but that was to be expected since no one found out about them until today. Already gave them their first round of vaccines and won't be needing another one until next month. Although I would suggest keeping them and their mama separate from the others.”✦

Sun comes up behinds them, still holding the mama so she can know where her kit is at.

✧“And mama here only had a calcium deficiency. Easily remedy if you add calcium tablets into her food. Also, might even be a good idea to see if we can find anyone who would be willing to take them as a foster. And may I suggest that you should try to have Uma and her kit be adopted together? I know it would be difficult, but the poor human has been through a lot. And taking her kit away from her would be detrimental for her mental health.”✧

(Child’s POV)

I stop in my sneaky endeavors when I smell a familiar sweet scent. I shuffle around and crawls towards the scent

When the bump into something I grunt. It’s peak out from under my blankie and see the he yellow person holding out a small cookie ball.

I feel my mouth water. Sparing glance at the yellow person’s blue eyes I give a babble out a warning.

I will take this treat, but that won’t stop me from escaping!!!

I reach out and take the treat, having to use both my hands to grab it. Then I begin the task of gnawing on the sweet and gooey orb.

Sun lets the kit take the treat. The wide excitement in their eyes as they munch down even got Moon to let out a quiet, "aww."

While they were busy, Sun takes the green collar he still has in his right-right hand and slips it around their little neck with a satisfying magnetic *click*.

The kit is oblivious as the collar blinks a soft light a few times before it starts to grow. Green nanobots duplicates as it travels down the tiny torso, extending to the arms up to just beyond the elbows. It continues on to cover the stomach, pelvis and their cute little tushy, also extending down the legs until mid-calf. And as a final touch, a yellow star appears on the front of this little onesie, fitting just perfectly over their chubby little belly.

Sun smiles with such excitement as he says, ✧"There we go. Don't they looks just too perfect in this suit?"✧

Moon kneels down to inspect the suit, making sure there isn't any flaws or snags that could prove ineffective to help keep this little star warm and safe.

✦"It really does. This is the one that should be able to grow with them for a long while, to at least their adolescence?"✦

Sun nods, his ears flopping all over the place. ✧"It sure is. Eclipse made the donation that was possible for the shelter to buy these specialize suits. Oooo! Oooo! We should do another fundraiser real soon, Moonie. I noticed that the cabinets could use a restock of some of their supplies. Maybe even help upgrade the suits for the adults, just like Stardust's. That way, they would be able to help them with medical needs sooner. Just like this little bundle of sweetness."✧ He leans done and gives them a little poke on their belly right on the star, causing them to momentary giggle before they go back to finishing their treat.

Moon nods back, ✦"Sounds like a good idea, Sunny. But first, let get this little star cleaned up, return to their mother and back to their nest. Then we should go talk with the volunteer about what we found today. And Sun."✦

Sun looks up to his brother. Moon with a stern expression on his face.

✦"No more sweet treats for them, please. Don't want them to get a tummy ache after all."✦

Sun rolls his eyes.

The baby calms down a tad, sniffling a bit as they snatch the blanket out of his hands and buries their face in it.

They make sure that their head and arms are covered. They thought that if they didn’t see anything, nothing would happen.

Uma stands in her kennel, pacing back and forth with her arms crossed. Looking peeved but concerned.

The little one calms down more the longer they listen to Moon’s soft melody.

It was like the kind Uma would sing to them at night.

The baby, with their free hand, clutches at Moon’s shirt, seeking more comfort

Moon curls down into the little babe, enveloping them in his song and his fluffy. Slowly, as he continues his gentle swing like a crib in the wind, he walks over to the kennel.

✦"You see, Mama. Your kit is perfectly fine,"✦ he grins as he gently pulls the fabric away until the female can see the little face.

Moon starts his humming again as he pets their cubby checks with the back of his knuckles.

(Child’s POV)

I laugh and try to bap the pink blur. This was so much fun! Mama never played with me this much.

I’m giggle again clapping my hands and cooing loudly.

I open my eyes again and flinch when something wet hits my cheeks. I rub my face, whining slightly. The wet thing was cold and smiled horrible.

I wrinkle my nose and keep my eyes shut tightly as I do my best to wipe the strange substance off.

I hit the blue blur weakly and half-heartedly. The same thing I do when I try to communicate to Mama I didn’t like something.

I whine and babble frustratedly as I rub my fave harder.

Why was this wet thing still on my face?!

✧"I know, little one. I know. I'm so sorry, but this will really help your poor little eyes,"✧ Sun says has he tries again to apply a couple of drops into the little infant's eyes. He was hoping to get them on the first try while they were distracted by Moon sticking out his tongue at them. But the little cutie was such a widdle wiggle worm that he ended up missing.

Carefully, Sun takes a hold of their head and open their eyes, one at a time and applied the medicine. The little kit made adorable little whines the whole time, trying to rub away the intruding liquid.

✦"No, no. Don't do that,"✦ Moon says as he gently take hold of their hands, preventing them from furthering rubbing their eyes. ✦"We need to let the medicine do their magic. Then you will be able to see clearly."✦

The kit continues to whine and complain as Moon give them a tiny kiss on their little forehead.

After he finish applying the last couple of drops, Sun says, ✧"There now, little star. That should take care of the infection in just a short while."✧

Sun turns to put the eye drops away and prepare the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Moon continues to coo sweet sounds to the kit, starting up a quiet purr to help further comfort the poor little thing.

Uma’s eyes dart to Moon’s hands, growling slightly. Her strength still absent for now. She eyes the medical equipment with annoyance.

“You’re lucky I have this stupid collar on, otherwise you’d be dead meat right now…” she grumbles

Meanwhile the baby was giggling uncontrollably.

Their unease about the new surroundings gone while Sun tickles them unintentionally as he cleans their wiggling body.

“NoOoOoO~!” They cry, tears from their laughter starting to form. Their blankie (still held tightly in their tiny hand) waves around as they flap their arms up and down in delight.

Sun beams of pure joy as he watches this bundle of joy having so much fun. ✧"*hehehe* Sooo cute. Moonie, look how cute they are being."✧

✦"Kind of busy at the moment,"✦ Moon says as he sets the female down on the counter instead of the exam table. He has three of his hands keeping her still while using his fourth hand to scan. Her growls increases as the device goes over her head. ✦"Yes, yes. We all know your ferocious."✦

After the device dings to signal it's complete, he sets it down to pick up the tablet to read the results.

He hums, ✦"She seems a bit low on calcium due to the overproduction of her milk. She's lucky she didn't go into milk fever. Best to prescribe her calcium tablets until the kit is weened from her."✦

Moon reaches into the cabinet for the medicine, hiding a set of the tablets in some irresistible treats.

✦"Here you go Mama. A good parent like you deserve to have something special to eat,"✦ Moon says, knowing fully well the risk of trying to give such treat to an angry human.

The child flinches at the sound of the door. Whining at the brightness the new room brought.

Uma just growls, too tired to do anything else. Her chest heaving as she tries to regain some strength. She looks around in disgust. She knew this room, and didn’t want her or her baby in it.

She watches helplessly as the yellow captor moves deeper into center. Her child holding one of his fingers for comfort as they continue to look around.

She sighs with the a small smile when her child covers their head with their precious blankie, not liking the new scents and bright lights.

✧"It's okay little one,"✧ Sun says as he approaches the counter on the far side of the room. ✧"I know it seems a little scary, but everything is going to be alright. Let's get you cleanup first before we take a good look at you. Okay little star?"✧

Sun opens one of the cabinets, pulling out a large soft pillow and some cleaning wipes. He gets everything set up before placing the kit onto the pillow, keeping two of his hands on them as he pulls out a couple of the wipes and proceeds to give them a good cleaning.

Meanwhile, Moon has walked over and is standing nearby so that the mama can still see her kit in clear view. ✦"See there, Mama. They are doing okay."✦

While her focus is on her kit, Moon opens one of the drawers with one of his hands and pulls out a scanner and a tablet, setting them on the counter.

✦"I'll give Mama a quick check-up. Best to be certain that there isn't any lingering aliments after the birth,"✦ Moon says as he picks up the scanner to start the process on the female.
