“I had always believed there was Craft before Gardner. (No offense to Gardnerians intended, I assure you, as my Craft lineage comes partially from that direction.).”
Before Wicca was apparently some cult in a forest Gardner stumbled upon that dealt with Pan, Dionysis, and Artemis. And there was also Aradia: Gospel of the Witches which has a lot of Christian influence. And Margaret Murray, but she hasn’t been a credible source in over a century or so.
Witchcraft, however, has been around for hundreds of years if not longer, so yeah.
No offense to Ravenwolf intended, of course.

So, I’m hoping I can get back to the dismantling of To Stir a Magick Cauldron tonight. I just couldn’t focus on it last night, and I wasn’t feeling the drive I had on Sunday to keep up with it.
I do need to archive several posts just so they don’t get lost between all the frustrations, but as soon as that’s done, I’ll give another whack at it. And maybe actually whack it, since it’s so out of whack.

“Where the Witch is, the place is sacred. This follows the premise that if you are living a life of harmony and following the Wiccan Rede of ‘an it harm none,’ you are operating in sacred space.”
"In meditation, greet the nature spirits (or Devas) of your property.”
Deva being a type of Hindu entity. The hypocrisy on this page is awful. We’re still on the page with the damn “I can appropriate because pantheism!” bit.

Your Ravenwolf posts are some of the best things I've seen on this site in a long time. Thank you for making my day. I needed a good laugh.
It has yet to be made, actually. Because it’s time to get back to it. Day 2 of ravenwhy begins now.

Hey! A fellow user Phoenyxwitch wants to share in the Silverwolf-bashing festivities with everyone, but can't seem to reblog your posts. Do you know how to fix that? D:
They probably just got caught amongst all the WeHeartIt reprinters and creepy-stuff-for-Halloween bloggers in the #witchcraft tag. I block those kinds so I can find people posting about witchcraft itself. It’s likely a whole page was full of unrelated content as well as a post of theirs, and I just tossed them into the block box.
Sorry about that! (I’d mention them at this point but Tumblr won’t let me.)

Okay, I'm grabbing the PDF of this tripe so I can relive this aspect of my teenage years. #ravenwhy
Don’t do that to yourself, please.

All in favor of doing a minimal casual curse on Ravenwolf that only requires reblogs, say “aye”.

Oh my god, my roommate and I are in stitches over your tag tonight. I think I may have one of her books floating around somewhere from when I was writing writing a college paper years ago. I may need to go dig it out and read it. >.>
Oh gods, what was the paper about?

Apparently fertilized chicken eggs make for a good invitation for entities to a space in nature where they’re lacking. After taking advice from a monk. Not to say monks are dubious, but when you don’t say if they’re a Christian monk or a Buddhist monk or what, it’s gonna raise questions.

That also sounds like the same tripe Folkish heathens use to justify their racism..
Yep. If I hadn’t deleted the sideblog from last summer, I could find the quote where Budapest said something about DNA memory or whatever.

“Imagine that the altar is a giant cauldron. You have cleansed and blessed each element on the altar. Now, you are going to mix them together--meld them, if you will--into a vortex of positive, Divine energy.”
If Avatar: The Last Airbender is any indication, it’s gonna end up being a muddy vortex of mud. Albeit cleansed and blessed mud, but still mud.

ladydogbarf replied to your post:Raise your hands before you, above your head in the Goddess...
As far as I know, the goddess hand position is using your thumb and index finger to form a half-circle, representing a crescent moon, with the other fingers tucked into your fist. It could be referring to something else though.
So we’ve got the Goddess position and the Goddess hand position now. Are there any other positions I need to be concerned about, preferably ones that are not sexual in nature, since that seems to be the trend in Wicca?
