Modern games like the old BR6 Raven Shield / Rogue Spear Hey all.Been looking for FPS that are a bit more tactical and also can be played solo (not with randoms) as well as coop. I enjoy stuff like Squad but just want less multiplayer stress/sweat. EFT was nice for a little bit but just too hardcore.Back when i really enjoyed playing Ravenshield and Rogue Spear PvE both Solo and with friends and really would like to do stuff like that again. But these games did not age to well. From what i have seen there are Ground Branch and Ready or Not but from Steam reviews they seem to have a fair bit of issues and slow updates.And Incursion Red River sems lie it needs a good deal more time in the oven.They all seem to have some problem, be it bugs, or lack of content and evelopment. Today was certainly busier than usual, but I had a lot of fun! I got to spend time with some friends I haven’t seen much of lately, and really had time to go all over the place to do some extra work. After all was said and done, I went for a few relaxing rides. Hawkeye got to stretch his legs over by Birch Hill, and later, Thunder got to explore some parts of Dino Valley he hasn’t seen in months. I used to bring him there all the time, but he’s needed his rest. The day ended with a happy note. Jay (@sso-bluejay​) bought a matching set of antlers and a Rudolph nose so we could be festive together. He’s slowly learning the ways of Jorvik’s holiday traditions, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Jorvik Reimagined - The Watermill of Silversong River

A half-covered bridge seemed like a nice addition since quite a few watermills I looked at had an adjacent bridge and the Silversong watermill is the only section of the river that’s narrow enough to jump across.

Chapter 39 - A Child Guard

Reblogging here ‘cause there is some dev for Willow there. This is all such good and pure content. I can’t handle it.

To answer that question, Dot – Yes, she would so have that tattoo on her hand. “Keep Me Wild” I could see referencing not just that he is Pandorian, but also her own independence and not wanting to be tied down to anything.

EDIT: She would 100% have the “KEEP ME WILD” tattoo on her hand, but she’d have it on her left hand. This is for a few things. 1) They could hold hands and the tattoos would line up. 2) It’d be on the same arm that has the sleeve of black and white flower tattoos. 3) It’d be an artsy, nice way to distract herself from the Pandoric scars on her hand.

Eyyy, thanks for asking! There’s references to characters of @inappropriatestarstable, @daine-s-adventures, Willow is tagged already later on in this post, and, while I’m at it, I might as well @stormiesquall cause she always loves hearing about this boy.

And, of course, there are story spoilers ahead.

1. How do they present themselves to others?

Well, the easy one is, as a Pandorian, his first step was obviously to present himself as human to the world of Jorvik. What Pandorians actually look like apparently varies, but we haven’t really seen a lot of it in-game, so it’s still too obscure for me to really say what he might have looked like otherwise, and… well, I’ve spent most of my time imagining his human appearance, so, really, until such time when there’s enough information for me to reconsider, I like to pretend he’s more or less always looked this way. xD

But, style-wise, he almost always is wearing something practical and comfortable. A good pair of working jeans and a t-shirt, long sleeves, plaid button up shirts, sweaters. I still think the sort of “old” Druidic fashion still catches his eye, but it isn’t exactly subtle everyday wear, and, honestly, I started to associate him less and less with wearing the whole cloak, etc., sort of outfit the more I got to know how he interacts with others and he got more comfortable with the group of friends. In a way, they were another way to hide - they were mysterious and they did cover a lot of skin. Pretty beneficial if you didn’t want to be noticed and happen to light up like a glow stick around areas of high magic and when you use your magic if you don’t forget to cover yourself with a basic illusion first.

28. How do they get out of a difficult situation?

Jay is… something of a lost puppy, honestly. Trying to understand Ariana teasing him and Willow about their relationship (in a friendly manner, of course) falls under a “difficult situation” for him, and he’s very, very bad at actually getting out of them. He just feels awkward and uncomfortable and kind of shuffles as such or blushes or looks confused until he understands what she’s implying and then proceeds to do anything of the former. xD

“Difficult” as in facing the average Jorvegian apocalyptic threat though… Jay is usually with Star, or even when he’s not, he’ll still often trust his four legged companion’s instincts on direction. Considering we’ve really only run into dangerous situations so far that we could run away from in-game, live to fight another day is a poetic way of putting it. Really going down to it though, Jay has telekinetic abilities (think Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, without the mind control bits) and illusion casting, so he’d use those as needed. Having to go anywhere near a scale like Ydris (I’m sorry, Daine) or Katja in the illusion realm would probably be a bit of a moral dilemma for him, so I feel like he banks more heavily on telekinesis as an offensive ability. Like I said, he’s more or less a puppy. He uses illusions to make fake snowflakes to fall in little winter home decorations and paint a night sky across the ceiling of his and Willow’s home, not to hurt or misguide people.

30. What music do they enjoy?

Fuck, I dunno. I knew I’d run into this sooner or later, either because I would want to know or someone else would ask and I would be a deer caught in headlights. xD But I think he would enjoy instrumental scores from like movies and games, and I mostly have alternative rock and pop on his playlist. I honestly had to Google genres because I suck at them. I listen to what I like, I don’t listen to what I don’t like, and that’s about the usual extent of it, lol. But artists like Imagine Dragons, The Score, Shinedown, and Ruelle typically are the first that come to mind when I’m looking for something that relates to him, and he’s the kind of character I could see listening to the songs that remind me of him. Ruelle, especially, has an incredible style that I highly recommend checking out.

42. Are they close with anyone who is going to screw them over?

I don’t believe so. To be frank, he was very wary of Daine in the beginning and I’d say he would have originally fallen under this category in at least Jay’s impressions of him. I think Jay can detect fellow Pandorians and Pandorian magic, and, considering Jay wanted to keep a low profile about his true origins when he first arrived on Jorvik, that was his first red flag, despite the fact that the rest of the friend group evidently seemed to trust him. It certainly didn’t help his unease that he’s romantically involved with Ydris, but all of this is in the past. Jay’s still not a big fan of everyone’s favorite magician, but he’s gotten to know Daine.

It’s still not out of his realm of belief that Ydris would do something stupid, but he’s trying. Daine evidently cares for him, so he’ll play nice, especially if everyone’s at an event. No one wants a bad night with their significant other just because someone else was being sour, after all.

So, TLDR, not particularly, oops. Excuse me for the ramble there. xD

50. Do they like science?

It’s interesting and fascinating the amount of interest that goes into science, and the amount of dedication. Science is a process of learning, and I think Jay enjoys that. It’s just as fascinating to hear about as the island’s more mystical history and lore to him. Though… Professor Einstien was a bit… unbearable and over the top. But science as a concept? Very cool, indeed!

79. Is there someone in their life that they care about more than themselves?

Willow. I’m not sure if I ever really straight-out said it on this blog - rather I just dove right into it being a thing, but @sso-silverwillow and I did finally decide that we’re going to go with Jay and Willow’s story and relationship being our canon for them.

And, boy, are they pure. They held onto each other through the trying events of their adventures, holding each other up or rebuilding as they needed, and that’s a kind of love that’s priceless, especially to Jay. He’s the kind of utter sap about his relationship with her that he loves watching her when she’s not looking and just thinking about how fucking lucky he got to have someone like her. She’s stubborn and sometimes she makes him worry a whole hell of a lot, but he loves her and takes that level of trust they have in one another very seriously. He wouldn’t be afraid of throwing hands with anyone that genuinely said a word against her or to hurt her and one of his favorite things in the whole universe is hugging her and getting hugs.

He’s worried about her safety and well-being over his own several times already and will continue to do so without fail - looking specifically at you, Willow’s nightmares after Katja’s race. He had his own after their first trip to Pandoria about Garnok and barely escaping, but kept them to himself in favor of helping her with hers and making sure he was always there to help her heal. He’s basically her lost puppy and that includes the incredibly boundless (sometimes even to the extent of self-endangerment and injury) loyalty, basically.

He would also do a whole hell of a lot for Star. Star is as much of a best friend as a mentor and guide. He is a wise counsel that has often encouraged Jay back to his feet when he was feeling down, and this world would feel very empty without his best friend.

81. Do they have any tattoos? Are they significant?

Wow, okay, why is it I always come up with these ideas best when I actually try to write them out rather than just when I’m trying to find pictures?

So, yes! First off, Jay has a sort of natural and magical tattoo situation going on basically all over his body that glow in areas of high Pandoric influence and also when he’s using his abilities, which I’ve explained further in this doc (x). They’re basically runic designs and runes.

Willow and Jay have some sort of matching couple tattoo that we’ve never quite decided on, but I am a huge fan of the idea of him having this one (x), and probably in or around the same placing, because it has symbols of both of them - Jay is strong with the Moon Circle, and the Willow Tree is pretty self-explanatory. I’m also hella feeling this one (x), so Willow can react with feelings on them having that one after I yeet this post at her, lol. I high-key believe Jay would have the “keep me safe” because Willow is his safe place, and Willow would have “keep me wild” as a sort of reference to his being Pandorian.

But I’m also a sap about this ship and he’s a sap for her, so I also believe he has a Willow tree on his upper right arm that maybe wraps around a bit, and a design of Snow Drops wrapping around his upper left arm that he got more recently than some of his others after she gifted him Snowdrop one year for Christmas.

And, just to round it all off, the “keep me safe” is on his right, so I believe we’re all sap enough to believe he has “amor vincit omnia,” meaning “love conquers all” in the same place on his left, as I am both a fan of balance, and pretty Latin words. It reminds him both of Willow and of his bond with Star.

Star would get his own symbolic representations in a trail of hoof prints down the inside of his right forearm and a line of the four Circle symbols on the inside of his left, going star, moon, sun, and lightning from wrist closer to elbow.

As a realization after I typed all of this out, Willow also would have been the one to get him into actually getting all of these, starting him with his first one. He loves sketching, and he just never would have really thought about tattoos before she brought it up, but it’s beautiful the way they can carry so much meaning for whoever is getting them, and I think that’s what really draws him into getting so many.
