#raven haired adora is cute

Text
i don't know why, but characters with dyed blond(e) hair just hit different in comparison to naturally blond(e) ones. characters with dyed hair in general hit different.
kinda still related to hair, i'm surprised i haven't seen a single SPOP artist draw adora with different types of blond(e) hair. the standard, go-to blond(e) hair color that a lot of artists go to is fine and all, but i'd like to see other types.
maybe i'll draw them with different hairstyles and dyes sometime!

And Now, A Bunch of Doodles Nobody Asked For
It’s mainly me dabbling with dumb ideas for that AU my Orko redesign resides in, along with some other silly stuff that probably doesn’t align with MOTU canon, but that’s a mess that gives me a headache so I’m doing what I want.
Tumblr media
*insert tragic event that probably killed Orko’s parents here*
Tumblr media
“I’m the only family he has left, so I better take darn good care of him.”
(In case you’re wondering, Montork does have facial hair at this point, it’s just not long enough for him to show it without exposing his face.)
Tumblr media
I dunno, the idea of Montork teaching a class with a baby Orko in tow is cute and funny to me.
Tumblr media
Baby Orko learns how to float.
Tumblr media
One of Orko’s first magic lessons.
(Montork’s glorious beard has finally arrived, and hey, I figured the small child Orko in this AU oughta look like the original. :3
Man, I wish I had doodled more growing up pics for this, there’d be more of a theme here than just my random doodles. So, uh... the following is kinda random.)
Tumblr media
Hey, look, I have an Adam design for this AU. Now if only I could draw a good He-Man...
Tumblr media
Sometimes one just wants to draw Orko being awesome.
Tumblr media
An attempt to, um, Trollanize some magic users from other cartoons I like. Raven from Teen Titans, Morgana Macawber from Darkwing Duck, and Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony.
Tumblr media
Also, Darkwing Duck translates really well into being a Trollan! I think I want to try the other Darkwing characters (well, besides Morgana, I already did her) sometime.
Tumblr media
I drew this at work and had it at my register while I was ringing up customer items (oh, yeah, I was moved to cashiering... I doodle a bit between customers and nobody seems to mind), and a couple of girls saw it, recognized him as a character one’s sister liked, and then took a picture to show said sister. That was amusing and actually kind of flattering.
Tumblr media
He grumpy.
Tumblr media
And here’s Dree Elle in this ‘verse!
Tumblr media
Oracle designs--Ancient Oracle on the left, and an older Orko on the right
In my ‘verse, I think of “Oracle” being the title of highest honor for the Trollans, the most powerful and the wisest of Trollan mages. I guess I sort of think of it as kind of like the Avatar from you know exactly what show.
I’m not a fan of ancient Oracle and Orko being one and the same (unless we bring reincarnation into this, but let’s try not to make it too much like the Avatar) (also I don’t want a time displaced Orko, he’s already dimension displaced, give him a break!), so in my ‘verse they’re two separate people separated by thousands of years, with Orko eventually proving himself worthy to carry the title himself (after a lot of stumbling, but getting back up each time he falls).
Not sure what I want ancient Oracle’s real name to be...
Tumblr media
In this universe, this is how Orko and Dree Elle’s first meeting goes: Evil Horde invades Eternia, Adam and a bunch of other Masters are captured (by pre-reformed Adora and her Horde crew no less), and Orko, who had escaped, is tasked with bringing Adam’s sword to him so He-Man can save the day. He looks around the main... base? ship? whatever--dodging the baddies’ sight until he stumbles into a room where, to his surprise, they’ve got a Trollan prisoner, kept around because she’s apparently useful. And of course, he’s smitten.
Dree Elle thinks she’s hallucinating at first, because... come on, Orko the Great, who apparently died several years ago, coming to her rescue? He quickly proves that he is the real deal by breaking her out, and then continues his mission to get the sword to Adam until at least Adam is free (but Adam ends up flying out a window along with Adora (where sibling bonding time and Adora’s wake-up call happens) and now Orko is captured and Dree is back to square one).
At the end they’re saved by She-Ra.
Tumblr media
Just thinking of that one episode where Orko saves He-Man by zapping Sh’Gora with lightning, and then reimagining that moment for this ‘verse.
(I want to do more redraws of Orko’s awesome moments.)
Tumblr media
Sometimes I wonder what it’d be like if Orko turned out to be descended from the Unnamed One (how many generations are between them, I dunno, depends on how you think Trollans age).
It’d probably be a bit more dramatic than this, but let me be silly.
And now, back to Orko’s favorite uncle...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, context for this is that it’s extremely difficult to get in or out of Trolla because the magical barriers between dimensions are particularly thick around that area, enough that it takes the Sorceress a while to even make contact with the place. So, everyone on Trolla thinks Orko’s dead from his encounter with a cosmic storm, and Orko’s unable to let his uncle know that he’s all right.
Since Trollan years are different from Eternian years, nobody really knows when Orko’s birthday is (“It’s the first day of Remmus!” “...I’m sorry, I don’t know when that is.”), so they settle for the day he arrived... which Orko’s all right with, but he really wishes his new friends could celebrate his actual birthday. This particular year, however, his birthday on the Trollan calendar and his Arrival to Eternia anniversary land on the same day, he’s super excited, and the others recognize this and decide to make it really special. Of course while they’re preparing a big party for him, Orko goes to occupy himself elsewhere, and ends up wrecking the marketplace with a potato while telling a story about Uncle Montork.
He goes off alone in shame, Adam finds him and comforts him, Orko vents about his frustrations and admits that his one birthday wish is to see his uncle again, cue Skeletor shenanigan and He-Man stopping him and Orko managing to help out... and then the Sorceress calls in, saying she has a birthday present for Orko.
So, she reveals that she has made contact with Trolla, and specifically asked for Montork. And so, the above comic happens (Adam is there, offscreen but he’s really happy for Orko in this moment; I like to think that Man-At-Arms is there too), and uncle and nephew converse through the screen for a couple hours until Orko has to leave to attend the party everyone prepared for him. The Sorceress promises to have this contact be a regular thing, and perhaps someday Orko can be able to go home.
Of course, at this point, Orko is already thinking of Eternia as a home, especially evident in how many people love him and prepared and/or attended the party (which was a great time).
Tumblr media
They still deserve a reunion hug though.
M’kay, those are the wild, kind of unorganized thoughts and doodles I’m willing to share today. I wonder how long it’ll take people to eat me alive.

The Joke’s On Us: A Glitra Halloween One Shot
One of my favorite Glitra writers @teaandsmut requested this prompt “how about Catra and Glimmer both turn up at a Hallowe'en party as Harley Quinn, with Catra as the classic version and Glimmer as the Birds of Prey version.”
I am happy to oblige!
(Please bare with me I rarely write spicy fics!)
“You know Harley Quinn!” Glimmer pulled on her golden glimmering overalls. “We saw it at the Brightmoon Theatre a few weeks ago, remember?” She squinted at herself in the mirror, trying to redo her pig-tails for the third time that afternoon.
“Oh yeah! That was fun! I thought you meant the girl from Bow’s comics. She has a different outfit though,” Adora answered from across the room.
“That’s the comic book version, the movie is a little different...can you help me with this? I can’t get them to be even,” Glimmer tugged her pig-tails free, scowling. She couldn’t really blame Adora. It’s not like the Horde had comic books or movies or anything.  She waited while her friend gently pulled her short hair into two equally short pig-tails and stepped back from the mirror. Admiring the overalls, boots, makeup and bright pink sports bra.
“Not too bad!”
“You look great!” Bow exclaimed, his own costume was that of Batman. Adora, having absolutely no knowledge of Halloween either tried to just go as She-Ra which Glimmer finally convinced her “didn’t count,” and wouldn’t be a real costume for a costume party. She had finally decided to simply wear the dress she wore to the princess prom but Bow had done her makeup to make her look like a zombie.
“You’re going to love it Adora, Halloween is my favorite holiday!”
A day where you can be someone other than yourself, where you can pretend to be anybody and anything you want. Not a princess, not a one day queen, not a commander….
Glimmer broke into a smile as Bow hugged them close, squealing in excitement.
---
The annual halloween party, similar to Princess Prom, was hosted by a different kingdom each year and all princesses were invited. This year it was Plumaria’s turn to host. Perfuma had outdone herself, with orange and black lights strung from the tree branches, a table of themed snacks, and some weird herbal tea mixture Perfuma insisted tasted good-despite the sickly green color.
The band played music as people danced, whirled around and mingled. Over on the dance floor, Bow was trying to teach Adora how to dance. Somewhat unsuccessfully. Glimmer giggled, making her way over to them. It was easy to breeze through the party in her costume, nearly unrecognizable. Everything seemed easier, when no one could totally tell she was a princess at first glance.
“Hey! Guys, wait..”
“Hey Sparkles, see you copied me.” Glimmer backpedaled away from the person she’d accidentally walked into.
Catra
Glimmer curled her fists, cheeks rising in an angry red hue.
“What are you doing here?”
Catra smirked, raising her brow. A trademark expression that made Glimmer feel like the smallest thing in Etheria.  She scrutinized Catra, critically. Her costume was different...but different. Instead of overalls Catra wore a single tight-fitting, totally unflattering body suit. The right leg and arm colored in black, while the alternating sides were red. Diamonds of red and black flanked each side of the suit, contrasting with each color. Her large ears were tucked into a simple matching jokers hat.
“...You’re...you’re Harley Quinn too?! You copied me!” Glimmer glanced around the dance floor, though no one else seemed to notice anything. Even Adora and Bow had gone off to sample the buffett.
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery sparkles,” Catra grinned, small fangs gleaming in the low light. Glimmer groaned in irritation, rubbing her eyes.
Of course, OF COURSE Catra would just show up here and copy my Harley Quinn idea. Of course she would come here just  to mock me! I can’t even have halloween for myself and my friends? Why does she have to ruin everything?
“But hey, you look cute,” Catra flicked the zipper of her overalls for emphasis, leaning closer than necessary, tail flicking like she was ready to pounce.
Irritation quickly turned to spite, which turned to anger.
I can’t punch her out here, it would draw too much attention, Glimmer quelled the rising pink sparkles in her fist. Her magic practically bubbling to break free. Plus it will ruin Adora’s day...and this is her first halloween party.
Glimmer grabbed Catra’s wrist tightly, dragging her from the dance floor off beyond the other party goers into the dark of the surrounding forest. Once the music was lost, Glimmer roughly shoved the Force Captain against one of the large trees, pinning her roughly and glaring up at her.
“You’re not  welcome here Catra!” Glimmer tightened her grip around Catra’s collar, the little white pom poms bouncing.
“Awe,”  she pouted with dejected hurt. “Why not?” Glimmer only rolled her eyes.
“You committed war crimes Catra!”
“Is that what they’re calling it these days?’
Glimmer seethed,
“And you copied me as Harly Quinn!”
“What’re you gonna do about it?” Catra teased, “sparkle me to death?”
“Don’t tempt me!” Glimmer hissed through grit teeth. Catra’s insufferable smirk only grew, even as she was pinned to the tree. They glared at each other, each minute that ticked by rising heat in Glimmer’s cheeks. Their faces were close, Catra had tipped her chin downward against Glimmer’s elbow, her warm breath grazing across her arm. It made Glimmer’s skin riddle with goosebumps. Despite her obnoxiously calm facade Glimmer felt Catra’s chest rise and fall rapidly.
Why does she have to look so good? Why does she have to show up here like she rules the place and...and ruin everything! I’ll show her! I’ll...I’ll…
“Sparkles?”
“What?!”
“Do you want to kiss me as much as I want to kiss you?”
“Ha! I’m surprised you even asked!”
Glimmer stood on her tiptoes, closed her eyes, and leaned in, kissing Catra full on the lips. Hungry and angry and oh so sweet. For her part Catra returned the gesture, biting at Glimmer’s lip with a needy noise, winding her arms around the shorter princess’s neck, pulling her deeper in.
She’s...warm...smooth...how is she? Why am I doing this? I don’t even like her….do I?
“I hate you,” Glimmer breathed between incessant kisses. “You…-kiss- can’t even…-kiss-...come up with -kiss- an original costume!” Catra pulled back just for a moment, her warmth ebbing away as she leaned against the tree, but she did not unwind her arms from around Glimmer.
“Oh sparkles, the more we meet the more I’m convinced we’re waaay more alike than either of us would like to admit. Costumes or not.”
“I am nothing like you!”
Before Glimmer could react Catra lunged forward, lithe arms going around Glimmer’s waist and instantly spinning her, pushing her against the rough bark of the tree.  The princess let out a startled scream only to be cut off by Catra’s lips once more. She wound her legs around the Horde Scum’s hips, bracing herself. Catra let out a deep throated growl and kissed her deeper, claws nearly sinking into her shoulder. It hurt...but...the pain was only slight and it was welcome. Glimmer reached up, yanking the silly joker cap off Catra’s head and fingering her hands through her wild hair.
“You like that don’t you?” She breathed. Catra answered, pushing her hips flush against Glimmer’s pressing her harder against the tree. She arched in response, holding on to Catra’s shoulders as they continued to kiss. At some point Catra pushed off the straps of her golden overalls, fingers gliding over her bare shoulders. Claws, Glimmer realized...retracted.
I didn’t  know she could do that…
Catra stole her from her thoughts once more, kissing her neck, nibbling at her collar bone. Glimmer leaned her head back, laughing with pleasure, holding on by Catra’s hair, tightening her fists and pulling.
“Hmmmm,” Catra growled, one hand sliding up Glimmer’s waist and holding her tightly. She readjusted herself without coming up from the crook of Glimmer’s neck. Thrusting her hips against the princess in a not so subtle ask for more. Glimmer reached around, taking Catra’s chin in her hand and forcing her head back up to look her in the eyes.
“Th...this doesn’t...c..change...anything...I...I...s...still hate you!” She panted. Catra only blinked innocently, taking her hand and licking sensually at her fingers and groaned much more lustful than necessary.
I could stick my fingers down her throat and gag her right here. Leave and go back to the party and let Scorpia or someone find her. Yeah...that’ll show her…
But Catra was already kissing her lips again, ravenously, deliciously. Dominating her in some strange way that Glimmer could not bring herself to refuse. They weren’t themselves after all right? It was Halloween.
She could enjoy this, enjoy Catra..only for the night. No one would have to know. With shining new confidence, Glimmer quickly teleported out of Catra’s hold, and reappeared right behind her. The Horde Scum reeled in surprise, eyes wide with a moment of fright. It sent a quickening through Glimmer, who seized Catra by the shoulders and shoved her down to the forest floor. This time the Horde Scum did not resist. Glimmer straddled her, leering downward into those heterochromatic eyes, glowing in the dark. Voice low and husky, she whispered, making sure to drag her tongue just a little teasingly across the tender pink of Catra’s  inner ear.
“My turn, puddin.”

The Good, the Bad and The Dirty: RWBY Vol 6 Ch 9
#ShieldsOutForPyrrha #SaveEmerald2K19 (We gotta start trending in it now kids).
I think this is a good episode to end the year with.
Overall rating: 7/10.
A.N.: Nora speaking truth to power, as always. #ShieldsOutForNora
Welcome to my last RWBY review for the year, strap in folks:
The Good:
I had a feeling we would get a Salem Squad scene for this episode, and I wasn’t wrong. We start off Episode 9 with a conversation between Emerald and Mercury. Imma be honest with you guys, I thought this scene was fantastic.
This not only confirmed many analysis done by the FNDM already, but also serves as a set up for the breaking point between Emerald and Mercury or both of them from the Witch’s gang. Although the set up for Emerald has been built as early as volume 3 (remember her being horrified during the Fall of Beacon?).
Emerald and Mercury are like Naruto and Sasuke, or Catra and Adora (shout out to fans of those shows out there).
On one hand, it is confirmed that Mercury’s father was abusive, not only that, but that the asshole stole his son’s Semblance (I think Miles mentioned something on Reddit about his Semblance being a spoiler). On the other hand, you have Emerald, who didn’t have a family and had to survive on her own, stealing.
Mercury grew up to be an assassin, festered by hatred and abuse, which lead him to a path of violence, and then to Cinder and Salem’s side. Emerald saw Cinder as a teacher, as a chance to grow and survive; she saw her as family, but Cinder is abusive herself. She doesn’t care about Emerald, constantly berates her and diminishes her feelings. Mercury knows abusers, that’s why he’s not loyal to her, and why he pointed this out to Emerald.
In the way they both deal with abuse, and the way they interpret life, 2 sets of characters should come to mind. Depending on their decision, to either stay with Salem or not:
Mercury will be Sasuke or Catra, continuing to go through the path of darkness. Seeking power and the upper hand in an abusive and toxic environment. (Catra is far more complex than Sasuke, of course, I just don’t want to delve into She-Ra more than I need to).
Emerald will be like Naruto and Adora, she will break free from that toxic environment and seek to better herself.
I’m not sure what Mercury’s going to choose, but I’m a 100% certain that Emerald will leave. She will probably meet Cinder, and realize that she is a fucking b—crazy. For more Emerald theories please follow me @helihi
After all of that, we see Team JN_R alongside Saphron. I like the exchange they all have together, and we got some wholesome JN_R interactions. I really like how attentive Nora and Rea are. They are both being the dad n mom friend when Jaune needs them.
Although I prefer the concept statue of Pyrrha we saw during the credits, it’s interesting the people of Argus built one for her. I kinda gasped when I saw that red haired green-eyed woman bringing flowers for her.
Are they gonna reveal she’s her mother?
Is she going to have a meaningful conversation with her daughter’s team?
Well, she does give us some insight on Pyrrha. I don’t personally agree with her views, but now Pyrrha’s sense of duty and sacrifice is confirmed to be one she grew up with. Just like I mentioned in my Pyrrha post: her ideals forced her to make a choice, one she could only make. She knew she was going to die, but she felt like she had to stop Cinder alone.
I really love the exchange between Ren, Nora and Jaune regarding Pyrrha. This step in their character development, and specifically in Jaune’s grieving process is very important. He needed this to be able to move forward.
Jaune understands that Pyrrha’s death is not one on his shoulders, and that he’s not the only one who’s in pain. He will move forward, and keep proving that he’s a leader, a worthy one; that Pyrrha’s impact in their lives was good, and they will honor her.
Then, you got Jaune proposing a plan to steal a ship.
Get in loser, we’re going to Atlas.
I also loved how Ruby confronted Qrow. it’s very powerful when you know that he was Ruby’s role model for most of her life (the other one bing Yang). Putting her foot down in from of the older generation helps her solidify the idea that she and her friends are not kids anymore. I wonder if Qrow is going to mention something about Summer like Raven did.
Also, Ruby you did a lot of stuff alone yeah, but like... Yang lost her arm, 2 of your friends are dead... if it wasn’t for María you guys would have been dead a couple of episodes ago... just sayin’.
The Bad:
Holy shit was Oscar’s return such a fanfic-ky way of solving that plot point. It’s almost as if his whole “running away” was an excuse to give him an outfit change to make him look cooler. Also, him cooking in a house that’s not his to be the “cute guy” ugh, such fanfic.
I thought this was awful, weird and completely out of place.
Do you know how awesome it would have been if he had received some sort of motivational conversation like Jaune did? Like, as if he was an actual character with emotions he has to sort through?
Yuck.
This shows a complete lack of interest from the writers to one of the most important characters’ arc of the moment. Oscar doubling down on his resolve despite Ozpin lying and the Jinn reveal could have been a perfect character establishing moment, but no.
Also, some characters were standing around with nothing to do or say, like wtf.
The Dirty:
Exposition lady appeared, and left. Could we have gotten a confirmation of who she is? Having a character appear, talk some sense and then mysteriously disappear is cheap.
Overall rating: 7/10.

IT’S OVER! I’ve officially watched She-Ra.
I liked it in the end! It took... FOREVER for me to get into, but I think that’s mostly just because of a.) personal tastes, and b.) the show clearly having a MUCH younger target audience. This is for like... little little kids, imo, or at least it starts out branding itself that way. Like, 7-10 years old. Maybe younger 12 year olds.
And it’s a good show for kids that age, good for their developing brains to encounter things like, y’know, lets learn you some empathy and forgiveness and establishing healthy boundaries with friends, and maybe introducing the concept that conformity to the point of oppression is a bad thing! But, y’know, not a lot there for adults to latch onto until like... season 3. And it’s rough gettin there if you’re not either nostalgic for She-Ra or down for the whimsy of princess shenanigans.
I’m more personally down for the whimsy of offbeat characters, so I had to latch onto the reject villains to get me through it. I need me some contrast. I can only appreciate ray of sunshine characters when they’re surrounded by misery like Scorpia, can only appreciate unapollogetically enthusiastic characters when they’re surrounded by bleakness like Entrapta. I liked that Catra was allowed to be multifaceted and complex but that was more in anticipation of where it looked like her arc might go than an early appreciation for her in general.
The setting was also hard to get into. Again, it did not feel like with throw cushions and crystal palaces and sparkling magic adventures that these people were a “rebellion” in anything but name as a smart branding move to recruit people to their side. Yeah, we saw the Horde try to conquer shit, but like... y’know... it’s little kid war. You show up and throw a flag on a fort. This ain’t ATLA with it’s mention of refugees, displacement, oppression, losing ground assimilation, supply lines, anything like.... y’know, actual war. It DOES start to do that in season 5 once Horde Prime shows up, but prior to that, the closest we get is the mention of “orphans” being taken in by the Horde to raise as soldiers. It DOES NOT want to make the target demographic uncomfortable. Which is understandable, like I said, I think it’s pretty clearly targeting younger kids, but again, makes it hard for a grownup to watch and not suffer through.
And again, personal tastes, I was never an especially effeminate kid, even as a little little girl. My favorite princess growing up was Queen Amidala not just because she had the best hair and outfits but because she got to run around and play action adventure spy. Before that it was Mulan. The closest my ace little heart ever got to romantic fantasies was thinking about Elisa soaring through the skies on Goliath’s hulking gargoyle wings. I was the gothest little edgelord tomboy. This show would not have been my cup of tea, I cannot even appeal to like, my inner child to try and get into this except for realizing, oh man, baby Caitlin would have imprinted HARD onto Catra, Scorpia, and Entrapta as the bad girl trio. They’d have been my Hex Girls, my Sanderson Sisters, my Raven, okay?
Anyway, all that said, I did like it, but I know me well enough to know I’m probably not watching it again. I did enjoy the ride, Catra and Adora were cute but Scorpia and Perfuma are forever, and I’m also unfortunately here for Entrapta and Hordak, and everything else sure was a thing in this show that I have literally zero response to.
Now I can watch He-Man without guilt.

My thoughts on SheRa Season 5 (Spoilers!)
She-ra was a fantastic series! It’s the first one in a long time that reminded me of the shows I watched as a kid and I want my future kids to see it.
I don’t know why the She-ra crew was sleeping on Netossa and Spinerella. They are both incredibly powerful, Spinny literally controls air which is useful everywhere. Either way, they were amazing this season.
They did Catra’s redemption arc beautifully. I didn’t feel forced and actually made sense. Catra wasn’t exempt from her actions and had to suffer the consequences. I felt bad that she got attacked so much, but it was kinda funny not gonna lie
Bow’s dads are perfect in every scene they’re in. They weren’t around a lot, but every interaction they had really gave off “We’ve been married for 20+ years and have raised 13 kids”
“They can’t defend themselves, they’re dads!”
Scorpia deserves everything and she was perfect like always. Also, those pipes!
Seahawk saying that he loves Mermista when she was under Prime’s control, was so sweet! I really love them.
Everyone’s outfits for the undercover mission were amazing! They all looked great
Catra and Perfuma are Raven and Starfire and I will hear no arguments
Entrapta can be...Entrapta but she means well and we love her. They wouldn’t have succeed without her. Also she kept Hordak’s chip and that was so sweet.
Wrong! Hordak is absolutely precious
Catra with short hair is so cute!
Shadow Weaver and Castaspella were exes. I believe it now
I’m so glad that both Adora and Catra stood up to Shadow Weaver. Seriously, who didn’t this woman insult and manipulate?
On a darker note, I’m glad Angella didn’t come back, sometimes shows needs permanent consequences. I’m still a bit sad tho
I never liked Glimmer and Bow as a couple but this season made ship it and now I want a wedding.
Where are Bow’s siblings??? These dudes have 13 children and only one is seen or mentioned
Finally, that whole scene with Catra and Adora was perfect. I was scared that they may not do it, but I’m really happy that a kid’s show had obvious LGBT representation. She-ra didn’t shy away from racial, gender, romantic, neurodivergent, and disability representation and that is pretty brave.
