Ravel Morrison Tanggapi Komentar Karier di Old Trafford

Gilagoal – Ravel Morrison mengaku cukup tersanjung ketika Wayne Rooney menyebutnya sebagai salah satu talenta yang seharusnya bisa bersinar bersama Manchester United. Morrison bahkan mengatakan ia siap mengubah banyak hal jika mendapat kesempatan kembali ke Old Trafford. Ravel Morrison sendiri usai meninggalkan Man United pada 2012 untuk bergabung dengan West Ham United. Namun, sejak saat itu, ia tak pernah mencapai potensi terbaiknya. Morrison tercatat sempat bermain di Liga Meksiko dengan membela Atlas dan memperkuat Ostersund di Liga Swedia. Saat ini, Morrison berstatus sebagai pemain Sheffield United.

Wayne Rooney says Ravel Morrison was miles better than Paul Pogba, in an exclusive with The Sunday Times. Writing in his regular column for the newspaper, Rooney reflected on Morrison’s eye-catching displays in first-team training with Sir Alex Ferguson’s men. The club legend wrote: “I remember watching Ravel Morrison thinking he had everything required for a player in his position. He nutmegged Nemanja Vidic three times in the space of a minute in one training game.” However, Rooney added that “he struggled with lifestyle and his environment which was sad for him — because I saw Paul Pogba come through, Jesse Lingard, all these players and Ravel was better than any of them by a country mile.” Morrison played together with Pogba and Jesse Lingard in the Manchester United academy at the start of their professional careers, but he struggled to earn a place in the Red Devils senior squad, and finally left Old Trafford for Premier League side West Ham United. The 27-year-old has played for a number of sides all across Europe, most recently linking up with Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United from Ostersunds FK on a free transfer last summer. Unfortunately, he failed to break into the starting line-up and joined Championship side Middlesbroughon loan in January.
