Hey, so y'all may have seen the convo I've had with another blog recently, and I just want to give the disclaimer that the original post is absolutely still correct and me discussing not exactly the right topic in the tags in response to it was correct to point out as wrong.

That being said, something that's been increasingly bothering me especially since my partner pointed it out, is the conversation on the definition of 'Zionism'. I've done extra research and from what I've seen, anti-Zionist / Zionist isn't the most clear label to use since the zionism itself doesn't have a hard set definition. The varied definitions include, but are not limited to:

believing Israel should be the Jewish homeland

believing that Jewish people should have a homeland at all / designated safe place to live

supporting Israel's development

thinking that Israel should exist

supports the Israeli government / military

However, the existence of Israel and support of its development, government, and military inherently support Palestinian genocide. To echo this creator's video, an ethnostate where Jewish people can live together safely sounds ideal. But, as stated, "creating an ethnostate is just a fucking beeline to engaging in colonialsim".

So, yeah, I already started to disagree with what op had said about the definition of Zionism since they basically said that it's "Zionism is X, not Y". In reality, from what I've researched, it's more like "Zionism is X but it can be XXY, XYX, XYY, XYZ, XZZ, XZX, XZY" (yes ik some of those look like chromosomes). Now, they did say there's complexity with this, but I still feel comfortable using this analogy since they said the following:

"Zionism doesn't mean support for the war or for any other given Israeli government policy, or opposition to establishing Palestine as a state - it's basically just the belief that Israel should exist".

However, at the end of the day, most if not all versions of X still lead back to genocide and oppression of the Palestinian people at the end of the day. In fact, it was the "just the belief that Israel should exist" that my partner pointed out that initially tipped me off to the issue with what op had said.

I gave benefit of the doubt bc it's not like I'm the expert on Zionism and know that it's common to see terms misused. But now the situation is more clear to me and I need to speak up on it because then I'd be complicit myself.

ok wow have not given a subnautica update in a bit, but some highlights:

learned how to use the dif cyclops options, i find the camera to be extremely useful

need to learn how to fucking go deeper though i cannot figure it out for the life of me....... google time it is

started storing a bunch of food and water and health supples in the cyclops so that my base's storage can mostly be materials + just good to have when idk for sure how long i will be out exploring

found a purple tablet underwater near alien building, dunno where to use it yet since i already used both tablets needed there

hatched (TWO) cuddlefish!!!!

put in a shit ton of dif eggs in the containment tank for shits and giggles. perhaps not the best choice

went back to the alien building i briefly went into after the sunbeam explosion, turns out there's an absolute shit ton i never saw so i spent most of my last session exploring around that

(there's a DOOMSDAY DEVICE??????? also that stabby thing was a bit of a jumpscare lmao)

finally found a mesmer again and got a scan of it

have like 3+ ion cubes now, not gonna craft anything until i know for sure what i need bc i heard those are extremely limited in game

ok i will play a LITTLE subnautica as a treat but if my pulse gets high at all i'm saving and quitting the game. i got a few heart palpations after dealing with that encounter while i was protesting earlier today and suffice to say it would. not be great for me to exacerbate that.

while looking for magnetite in the jellyshroom caves i decided to say fuck it and attempt to scan a crabsnake......... i discovered that you can go inside the shrooms just like them after going inside an empty one, so i went inside a shroom a little after a crabsnake entered it. it wasn't inside, but it had a creature egg. then after a bit the crabsnake respawned and was glitching out bc it was trying to leave but wouldn't since i was also within its range to attack me, so it ended up glitching up and down inside the shroom. i swam up a little, tried scanning it, and it ACTUALLY fucking worked????? swimming up also allowed it to leave finally so i got the hell out of there afterwards

FINALLY EXPLORED THE AURORA!!!!!! and got everything i possibly could from there (i think)..... including prawn suit!!
