What would Emiliano’s Cuphead boss fight look like?…

Welcome to the Alley Rats’ Riot! 🐭 (Woulda named ‘em the rat pack, but “The Root Pack” is already a play-on-words for it 😔)

(Background art by Michelle Thies who worked on the Cuphead Show, and the assets are by StudioMDHR)

Coming up with these concepts were sooo fun. I need to preface that, if I had more time/energy, I’d fully design the band members and instruments and backgrounds myself.

Anyway, Emiliano is joined by drummer Marcello and bass player Antonio.

Here are some key components of the fight explained:

The main things to dodge are the music notes coming from the band, but as you hurt them more and more, less music notes pour out of them.

Tips: a generous donation from the public. They come across the screen in an arching pattern and eventually end up in the can laying next to Emiliano. (If I had more time/energy, his expression would change to a wide, squirrelly smile as the tips come in. Originally, I was going to have him hold his hat out to take tips in so it could act as a visual indicator of what to dodge next). If you see any pink coins, parry them!

Bow Strike: Antonio likes to get straight to the point. His attack goes straight across the screen and it’s all about how quickly you can jump over, duck under, or dash through the attack. The visual indicator is him drawing back the bow in his strings. Keep hurting the band enough, and he is knocked out. No more bow strikes will occur.

Drumroll: sometimes one can drum too hard. Marcello’s drum is on the loose! It rolls back and forth across the screen until it settles itself back in its place where it belongs. It’s huge, and it rebounds, so expect to dodge it a couple of times. Hurt the band enough, and he’s knocked out. No more drum rolls will occur.

Concept: Didn’t draw due to time/energy, but Emiliano also has an attack. He blows on his trumpet occasionally, and it sends a wave of sound outwards that you have to dodge. He continues to do this until you finally have knocked the whole band out.

Knockout: Emiliano is caught. Wonder why? He put on an honest performance, didn’t he? 🤔

Bewitched Diadem Academy,which consists of 5 dorms(not sure if I’ll add more)Deceitshire,Acornia,Riskbane,Gildora and Baskerville.

Mosley is housewarden of Deceitshire which really puts up with Ratigans attitude and spirit so it explains itself.(just to clarify I am the original creator of these dorms and school/AU and if u want to use it just tag me or ask me for permission:3)
