Happy Halloween, friends. NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow and I'm gonna be attempting the challenge:

All Hell has broken loose. Literally.

Humanity was nearly extinguished centuries ago by vicious and vengeful creatures that poured out of infernal rifts. Those few that survived either retreated to high-walled cities controlled by religious orders or allied with rebel demons, becoming corrupted half-human mages in the process. Humanity's last hope is Shay, a divine savior embarking on a righteous quest to kill the demonic ruler and put an end to centuries of senseless bloodshed.

That's the kind of story they'll tell years from now, after this tale passes from truth to legend. But this is not that story. There is no glory to be found here. This is not about some absurd, "holy" quest and while Shay lies at the heart of this tale, she's not the focus. This story is about two of the people who cared for her—mere side characters in Shay's legend.

This story is about a renegade demon and a possessed traitor willing to sacrifice everything for love.

Rotza (they/them)

Shay (she/her)
