I think Rene Lalique is the first great example that jewelry is art. Lalique, the most powerful representative of the Art Nouveau movement, answered the question "what is art" with the workmanship he used. Jewelery created with hot enamel technique is like the most concrete form of aesthetics. Nymphs, botanical details, dragonflies, swans, peacocks have never been this elegant. It is impossible not to experience paradise while looking at the works of Rene Lalique. Mythology has never been this closer to life. And today, Rene Lalique continues to inspire the art world with his style. I want to commemorate Rene.
