Since it's now @raposabranca's birthday and they've opened it, I can now share this Josephine embroidery I did for them! I'm pretty happy with how this design came out, even with some pretty small sections :) Once I've cleaned up the file and written a tutorial I'll eventually add it to my embroidery patterns for sale too.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

I've always been super creative and into fandoms. As a kid, I would write Pokemon stories (one of my friends even did a "book report" on one of them hehehe). I had so much lore about Purtail, my made-up Pokemon OC. She had a backstory, canon interactions, friends, family, etc... idk, lots of story there. When I got into junior high, I was making stories about anime characters/more Pokemon (this time a swearing Sneasel). But those weren't technically "fanfiction" - I mean I guess they were, but they weren't published online. So when I was 13, I was searching Kiyoshi Mitarai (my Yu Yu Hakusho blorbo) and found... Fanfiction.Net? What's that?? Oh my god, stories? About my blorbo?? That other people wrote!? Whoa, I should write one too! I should write more, like some from Death Note and FMA and Pokemon and--!! And the rest is history.

I'm Jade! by day I work in desert ecology, primarily botany and soil science, and have an interest in all things earth science related (especially when applied to fantasy/sci fi universes--every now and then you'll find me crying about the river and plant situations in Thedas). When not doing science, I also have a side career as a professional mermaid and freelance fine art model, and otherwise enjoy dressing up in costumes as various mythical creatures or characters. On this blog, I post and reblog a magpie mix of art, writing, lore, meta-analysis, jokes, and whatever else.
