Amen to your Toby post honestly. Preach!! Literally they did nothing with him. Jim turned into a troll, Claire turned into a witch and what happened to Toby? They turned him into a joke. The trifecta should’ve been something with aliens. Like alien heritage or I don’t know got his DNA turned into part alien. Like something. He was competent at the end of Trollhunters and they took it all away. Was a joke in 3below, wasn’t there for most of Wizards, and we are not even going to mention what the movie did to him. What happened to all of his character development?? Gone. Because of what? They need a comic relief character except the jokes weren’t even good and didn’t land. It’s been years and I’m still mad over it.

YEAH! he was literally part of SEVERAL DIFFERENT GROUPS of badass teenagers who SLAYED VILLAINS and SAVED THE WORLD. MULTIPLE TIMES!!! and then the show execs, after trollhunters ended, were like. nah. he's fat. that's his whole schtick now anymore. which wasn't even funny in the first place, and got even less funny as time when on. (i hated it when they made those jokes, to the point where i wanted to skip over them instead of watching those mini-train-wrecks. i almost did.) he was just a teen guy! they literally gave him so many interests and personality traits! but noOOooOoOo, he's tHe fAt KiD to the show runners. that's ALL he is to them. they never respected him as a character, and it shows.

like i said in my post defending Toby Domzalski yesterday, they literally could've taken all of those jokes out and the arcadia series would be SO MUCH BETTER for it. and i'm angry about it!! it makes me annoyed that they took away his character and what made him cool, and essentially just made him ThE fUnNy OnE for being (mostly) confident in himself. he learned to be a great fighter!! he killed Angor Rot! he banished Morgana to the shadow realm (literally)!!!! and then. NOTHING. all of his fighting capabilities were BASICALLY GONE, along with Troll/Half-Troll Jim and Awesome Witch Claire. UGH.

they were so mean to Toby, i wish they'd done better things with him, instead of shoving him aside for Cooler New Main Characters instead. not that i don't like them, just... i'm disappointed. and i'll be disappointed if i decide to try rewatching Trollhunters or 3Below or Wizards again, and i'll keep being disappointed because i wish he had better opportunities than in canon, which i will probably look for in fanfiction. my poor, underutilized, fictional son- you never got to fully shine, and your true potential lies with the fans.

ooooh- THAT ALIEN THING WOULD'VE BEEN SO COOL!! i didn't even think about that, but Toby being part alien would be AWESOME. maybe his Nana or parents could also be part alien? like his parents died in a spaceship crash, and Nana Domzalski was there to help protect and raise him? it would explain Nana's interesting (and mysterious) traits too, lol

also there's a movie??? i'm kinda scared to look it up, lol

TL;DR: you're so right, Anon. they totally wasted Toby's character arc that was built up through Trollhunters, and it sucks.

Hey CJ! What do you think Robert Kirkman is gonna do if he continues Clementine's story? I'm honestly very scared they're gonna ruin the characters or set one route as "canon". Can you imagine that? Player choice would feel pretty much useless if there existed a canon path. I see a lot of support on Twitter for a continuation of Clem's journey, but I don't understand how people don't see that it could potentially destroy what the games brought us and cause a lot of instability in the fandom. Honestly, I've been feeling pretty down ever since that Robert Kirman "tease"... I just don't want my favorite characters to be ruined, or our personal stories to be disregarded and deemed "not canon". I hope you don't mind the little rant :/ I really needed to talk to someone ❤

Oh, I completely agree with you, anon. 

If he’s going to actually “continue” Clementine’s story and isn’t just being a tease for the sake of being a tease, then using that word “continue” makes me think that he does want to do something after s4, which is a huge fucking NOPE from me. Listen, sir, if you wanna contribute to Clementine’s story while also having respect for her creators and fans of the games, then don’t fuck with the ending of s4. 

Give some insight into what happened before she and AJ found Ericson, tell a story about her time with Christa and Omid, or how she made it to the ranch to save AJ. 

Listen, I know he’s a talented man and he’s created something wonderful, but I don’t trust him with Clementine, AJ, Louis, Violet, ect. I don’t. And I don’t trust him to be respectful of the fact that every single choice within these games, whether you like it or not, is canon. 

This is the same dude who has said in the past that shooting Lee is the “right” choice which does nothing but invalidates those who don’t pick that choice and that’s not the goddamn point, sir. 

As far as people being supportive of a continuation, this is something we discussed in a recent stream where people are desperate for more content that they don’t consider major repercussions that it could have. 

Y’all play ANF? Would you still want that continuation if he pulled an ANF Kenny/Jane on Louis and Violet? Not only killing them off, but committing insulting character assassination, inconsistencies, and/or solidifying that one of them is the “correct” choice... that would fucking suck and literally no one wants it, sir. No one wants it so just leave it alone. 

I know you wanna milk that cow until it’s dust, but don’t you have like three tv shows, three movies coming out, a handful of novels, and an actual comic series to work on? I just don’t get it, I guess. Why ruin a good thing? Why not respect the creators that put their careers, time, and souls into completing the FINAL season? Just... why? I don’t... why?

And y’know, anon, we’re totally not the only ones who feel that way. I’m sure there are more people who don’t care as long as we get more content, but there’s a handful of us who just don’t want it. It’s not worth it, y’all know it’s not gonna live up to our expectations and we’re just gonna be disappointed when he ruins Louis and Violet and the rest of Ericson. 

I totally get where you’re coming from. Honestly, I’ve been worried ever since I watched his tease about it, too. Guess only time will tell what he’s actually planning to do. Until then, we’ll keep doing our thing.
