🕸 Laureldapple?

OKAY I FINALLY GOT THIS ONE sorry is a little messy! Laureldapple is from neighboring Valleyclan, but left really early almost as soon as her apprenticeship started. She hasn’t really seen her family since, and doesn’t think they’d really want to see her either. She’s also honor sired, her actual parents are her moms Swift and Parsley, but Eaglestar wanted to continue the Falling-line and organized the whole affair for Bearjaw to be the sire.

Fallingstar was one of the first leaders of the clan, and integral to a lot of their lore surrounding Starclan and internal clan politics. It’s a heavy basket to carry, having to hold up their lineage.

I'm excited for this one hehehe I love the RanchClan silly kittys so far !!

This might be a little boring, but the nursery is actually a 10’x10’ of one of these guys!

The folk that used to own the property once kept rabbits in there, and it’s created essentially a fortress for queens and kits. There’s chicken wire about two feet down that discourages digging to get inside, and thin strips of willow have been woven through the bars for privacy. Unfortunately it’s not super accessible to cats who can’t make the jump over the half open gate.

This is part of the lore relating to things I’ve done on my actual homestead and the real life inspiration (don’t dox me) for Ranchclan, also a reason why the feral rabbits are specifically part silver fox rabbit because they’re an incredibly cold hardy breed that could handle the negative temperatures in leaf bare.

Some of the other locations are a shipping container for the warriors den, and an old airstream trailer for the cleric/elders den (that irl we actually used for chickens)

Okay this is a little lore heavy, but Ranchclan celebrates several holidays!

Frostgather (winter solstice) During the longest night of the year, cats all gather together in the hayloft of the barn where it’s warmest, tell stories and share tongues, have a feast together as a group

Sunwave Splash (summer solstice) On the longest and hottest day of the year, the clan celebrates with a day of play down by the river. Cats swim, fish, and trade small gifts during the day, and then romp and race in the fields during the night. Apprentices often have challenges for each other, like collecting minnows, “sheepleap”, and more.

Seedscatter In Newleaf, cats scatter seeds for new growth later, whether it be wheatgrass for digestive fiber, willow starts for future trees and weaving material, flowers or herbs for clerics. Apprentices usually run races, or hunt bugs as competitions - this is typically their “new year” celebration

Spiritwalk Eve In Leaffall, the clan believes the veil between the living and spirit is thinnest on this night, and yowl/sing to the stars in hopes their words of love reach their passed clanmates. They typically leave small offerings throughout the territory, like at a gravesite or a clanmates favorite spot.

There are other holidays that take place only during certain events, like asteroid showers, and Ranchclan can actually see the northern lights from time to time! There’s a couple I also have planned for later, after certain technological advancements in ranchclans timeline, relationship with Valleyclan, and just events that happen
