We finally had a nice weekend that wasn't dangerously blazing hot. I spent a good chunk of it outside overdoing it on the physical labor (and am paying for that now unfortunately).

I will be so busy with gw the next two months there is no hopes for fanfic updates, havent even been able to touch them for a couple hundred words. Currently working on 5 gw once i finish one that will be done with this client. I refuse to take on this many again only 3 at once. I originally thought i could only physically do 2, i can do 5, im just constantly rushing and stressed. So 3 seems a fine number

like the world in general is a fucking dystopic acid trip. like i learn about how menstruating people in gaza are denied basic healthcare because of israel (they have to use dirty tent fabrics as pads and panty liners) and on the other hand 1800 crores (180 million) (does not matter taxpayer money or not) is being invested in a mandir and then i’m hearing how one of the oldest churches in gaza is being bombed by israel then i’m learning how people are prohibited to worship shri ram in some states and some assholes are putting the saffron flag in mosques and churches in india then i’m learning how adivasis and dalits in india are being treated as third class citizens by the uc savarnas (the same one who dogwhistle hinduphobia). ayodhya is being treated as a land grab by capitalists. be fucking for reals. like i feel so disconnected and depressed by all of this. celebrations are now over, see the fucking obvious.

I'm keeping windows 7 on my desktop pc for Sims 2 but it's becoming more and more obsolete 😭 most of the games I want to try on Steam require w10, the text-to-speech softwares are terrible (you can't install additional voices... I have the default English but I'd need an italian one too for some books) + more and more things are becoming incompatible. I need to update both its hardware and software UGH

Not to be unnecessarily negative, but the amount of faith I have in TS4 actually pulling off Generations well is astronomically low.

#i've said it before and i'll say it again -#a lot of my gripes with ts4 are on a foundational level as far as how the game works and is structured #and at this point it CANNOT be fixed bc everything else is built on top of that foundation #i complain abt shallow-feeling gameplay bc gameplay can ONLY BE as deep as the core game allows it to be #and that's only about as deep as a puddle on a hot sunny day at noon #i'm not completely negative and hopeless - against all likelihood i do think there's a CHANCE for ts5 to be better #if they actually listen to player feedback and take the things we're saying to heart #and maybe feel a LITTLE bit of pressure from paralives (i'm convinced this is why they've shown us as much of project renee as they have)#but for 4? nah. that ship has sailed.#every single time i think something they're doing may make the game just a bit more playable and fun #i go in - play for maybe a day or two #and then quickly either get bored or annoyed by the game and lose interest again #at this point it's ram-hogging dollmaker for me - nothing more #personal grumblings
