In my house it's a common occurrence to find kids painting. They get the supplies out on their own whenever inspiration strikes. . They know how to only use a little at a time, how to wash brushes, and though they still need reminding, to put it all away. I've realized this is not normal in most houses. . Would this give you anxiety? Trusting art supplies to a 6 year old, unsupervised? After a month of sending the #twinkies to the same school featured in #LittleFockers, here are my reflections: - it's tough having children and having to be an adult with responsibilities. If money wasn't an issue, we'd both be stay-at-home parents: KJo would develop the curriculum and I'd do the nutrition plan - I have much respect for early childhood educators. I can manage high school students, but the patience they have is awe inspiring - I LOVE picking them up after school, hiding in the cut watching them play, and when they finally do spot me it's shear excitement as they both run to me saying, "DADDY, DADDY" - they're learning SO much. I got to hang their first pictures on the fridge. The rides home are filled with asking them about their day. Their recall and ability to talk about specific friends by names makes me hope their classmates are talking about them as much. #raisingintellectuals #raisingartists #educatedtoddlers #KnowledgeIsPower #twinstagram #双子 #twinboy #twingirl #twinboygirl #twoofakind #twinspiration

So let’s talk about this picture. Those paint colors? They were up on a shelf. My darling three year old (middle child) son woke up at 6:30 AM and instead of waking us up, he trotted downstairs, climbed in my chair, got out these colors, UNSCREWED THE LIDS, turned to a new page in my journal and helped me start a brand new page. While I *want* to be furious, I can’t help but admire his ingenuity and creativity. Our oldest knows my art supplies are HARDCORE OFF LIMITS, I guess it’s time for the middle child to learn as well...we invested a lot of extra time keeping him alive(#hlhs)...I do want him to live.
