THE KIN REWORK!

thistle and nettle still are part of the kin but i didn't draw them. assume that a few Guardian cats (cat group from Tigerhearts shadow) were also once part of the kin before breaking off.

Raven and her brother are now the bastard children of Blackclaw of Riverclan. MEANING. they're the half-siblings of Reedwhisker.

Dragonfly and Roach are the bastard children of Rushtail of Windclan.

Grassheart of Shadowclan is a rouge, her mother is part of the kin.

Flame + Silt are ex-lovers. They're also the mothers of Blazefire. At some point Flame flees the kin to the guardian cats for the safety of her kits.

I always thought it weird how the kin were just made of random rouges so after attacking skyclan, killing sharpclaw and birdwing, a few Skyclan cats 'join' the kin.

Honeytail stays behind because Macgyver was critically injured from the attack and his kits, Quailkit and Pigeonkit are too young to evacuate properly.

Macgyver + Quailkit + Pigeonkit. Macgyver critically injured and swallows his pride, 'joining' the kin while he's injured for the sake of his kits well-being.

Sandynose stays behind for Honeytail's sake. This causes a rift between him and Plumwillow who decides to leave.

Creekfeather. I don't know, maybe he joined because he genuinely liked Darktail's leadership over Leafstar's?

Rain. Now the son of Creekfeather. He is pro-Darktail.

This means, roughly 15 cats are part of the kin by the time they reach the lake territory.

I love how interested Darktail is in medicine and the concept of an apprentice. Its fun to see him using new information to his advantage.

This makes me really want an AU where Darktail makes Alderpaw his personal medicine cat

Two toms who served under their fellow power hungry leaders...the question is:

Honestly Needletail and Rain would be a really tragic and cool ship if it wasn't an older guy luring a teenager into a cult

Like, imagine if Rain was about the same age as Needletail. It's two messy, angry, angsty teens who want to be wild and have fun, but end up wrapped in something deadly. Rain dying and Needletail's subsequent actions would have a lot more impact this way

Obviously some other changes would be made as well, but I just think the authors should have either leaned into the creepy age gap and have it be a plot about how creeps can get young teens involved with dangerous things and manipulate them, showing that it's BAD, or made Rain the same age as Needletail and made them punk bf/gf
