TW Passing of a pet/service dog

It is with the heaviest heart that I am letting yall know, Ry is passing over the rainbow bridge today. For those who don’t know him, Ry was my second service dog. My second sheltie and my best friend to the very end. He knew cluster and seizure alerts and so many cool/fun tricks. Unfortunately he became super sound sensitive and had major fallout from balanced training techniques/ just was overly stressed by my conditions and ultimately we spent a year trying to manage his whole life to then rehome him with a wonderful sheltie savvy family in CO. He transitioned into their family and bonded immediately with his new dad. They did everything together and hiked/played frisbee or ball every single day on the trails behind their home. He loved the endless snow there and had his 6th birthday just a couple months ago. Today we found out he has internal bleeding and is unable to form clots and there is nothing more to be done. They took him home and will be putting him to rest this afternoon. My heart is breaking. I put so many years of blood sweat and tears into this dog. He was my ride or die. The toothless to my hiccup, the clingy little snuggle monster with the cutest nibbles, the toodles to my Mickey Mouse. He was my little moth, my world. I miss him so very much and knowing I’ll never touch him or see him again now that he’s gone, it breaks me. I’m so happy that he had the BEST life he could have asked for but my gods do I wish I could be holding him right now.

Ry and I passed our CGC and Public access Test yesterday!!

Morgan and I are gonna have some fun with training today! Introducing new training techniques with her and going to shape that heel a bit more. I’ve been slacking and I need to be more accountable so I’m posting about it 😂

I’m going to try to film a before video so I can see exactly what I need to fix. Then later I will post a before and after. She doesn’t have much to fix tbh but I need to fix it for my sanity lol I hate pulling.

Ry and I will be working on his confidence again. Build him back up after he was attacked by a friends dog , completely out of nowhere. We will start with a small sessions outside and build up to what he can handle when training and not constantly moving for a run.

Over all I’m excited to see how we progress and I’m gonna be better about posting and interacting! Life was BONKERS for a while. Some of the bigger things being my friends dog attacking both Ry and I , not moving as planned, and my dad needing major heart surgery. But things are a bit less chaotic so I can take the time I need to do what I love, train my dogs and share our journeys

He’s going through a bit of an anxiety set back as he was attacked by another dog recently (he is physically fine just taking time to recover mentally) , completely unprovoked. So he is a bit less confident. We are building him back up slowly but surely❤️
