LIFERS GROUP “Living Proof” dropped 28 years ago. This group was made up of all men serving serving life sentences. Prior to this in the 70s they started the "Scared Straight" program. The group was started by Maxwell Melvins. “The group wanted to demythologize the romanticism of prison”(that was a quote from the LA times) This was probably one of the most important shoots I had the honor of capturing.
