India's T20 World Cup Triumph 2024
"Dhoni finishes off in style, It's India who win the World Cup." These lines said by Ravi Shastri had gone old with respect to India's World Cup Trophy drought. The most dominating team in bilateral series could not win an ICC Trophy and this was the biggest disappointment for ICT fans. After losing the 2023 world cup final, the first thought which came into my mind was that most probably 2024 t20 wc would be the last world cup Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play together. So, this was their only chance for a world cup glory and they did not gave us a feeling of dismay, sadness and disappointment but an year full of cherishing memories, joy and happiness
India won the T20 World Cup 2024 happening in the USA and West Indies. They became the only team to win a world cup staying unbeaten. Their journey to the final was a happening one from the high pressure game against or the game against Australia. Especially, the game against Pakistan was a sheer representation of the evolution of Indian team's pace battery in the last decade. From 98 percentage of winning the match with Pakistan our pace battery broke their dreams of winning a game against India as they took the game from them in the last 10 overs. From the first game to the last one, India never looked a under confident or worn out team as they dominated everybody they faced badly. One such win was against Australia in the Super Eight which was personal for every Indian citizen ( If you know what I am talking about). Rohit's knock in that game was the indication of the frustration he had in himself after every knockout loss in every world cup in the last 5-6 years with more respect to 19th November. Then comes the Semifinal against England and that transition from 10 wicket win to 10 wickets out was outstanding. The game was one sided as soon as England completed their powerplay during the batting stint. Every cricket in the team was hungry of that silverware. So, they never looked back to the losses they had been facing but focused on their race to the unmatched legacy of winning a World Cup Trophy. The final was the best which could happen in an ICC tournament. It was not a cricket match a display of every emotion one can imagine in a game of cricket. India set a target of 177 and defend for India seemed easy until Klaseen smashed 24 runs in the 15th over and his team needed just 30 of 30 balls. India's pace attack pulled off a blinder from that stage by first Bumrah giving an economical over and then Hardik took the wicket of Klaseen to shift the momentum of the game on his side. The hidden hero was Arshdeep Singh who also pulled of two brilliant overs at the right - one in the middle and the other in the death. Last over consisted of South Africa requiring 16 runs and Hardik had to defend them. The first ball was a full toss indicating the pressure Hardik had with respect to his last 6 months. Miller swung his bat so hard but could not get the middle and it was the sticker that touched his bat but it was enough to go to the boundary but not above it as Suryakumar Yadav caught the ball and fancied India's chances to get the silverware.
Virat Kohli was in tears and Rohit Sharma lied down to celebrate their undermining hard work in the last decade and the last time in this format. The pair decided to announce their retirement from T20I's together after getting their hands on the silverware. Looking back to their world cup triumph I see a roller coaster ride filled with emotions of joy, happiness and satisfaction. The trophy weighing 12kg which they lifted had made 1.3 billion people happy back home which they expressed through lighting firecrackers and doing individual parades. India became the first cricket team to win a T20I world cup unbeaten displaying their want to get hands on the trophy badly and they gave everything for it. We also gave everything for it and got the result back paying the debt of our worshipping to the team from the last 17 freaking years.
Ravi Shastri's lines were replaced by the ones - Long on, Long On and what a catch, Suryakumar takes it and Miller's gone !!!!!!!!

Till then continue..BCCI is another proposal for Rahul Dravid Repoted News..
With Rahul Dravid's tenure as the head coach of Team India coming to an end with the World Cup 2023, it is interesting to see who will take over the duties next. As Dravid is not willing to extend the contract, there are speculations that BCCI is thinking of hiring a new coach. But recently, it seems that BCCI has approached Dravid once again. At least till the T20 World Cup, he wanted to take charge as the head coach of the team. If Dravid accepts this offer, there is a possibility that the support staff will continue with him till the ODI World Cup. But 'ESPN Cricinfo' report says that no response has been received from Dravid yet. If there is no positive response from Dravid, it seems that VVS Laxman, who is currently the chief of NCA (National Cricket Academy), will be given the responsibility of coach.

Former stars advise the Inclusion of these players, as Rahul Dravid admits to the long-tail problem of Team India
In T20 cricket, the Indian cricket team is still battling the long-tail problem. Even the head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid, admitted that there is a shortage of all-rounders in the team. In the 5th T20 between India and the West Indies cricket team, Tilak Varma even bowled and cooked the wicket of Nicholas Pooran. Although Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been backed to bowl more often by the Indian team management, even former cricketers are backing this approach by the Indian team.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that Team India should push batsmen who can bowl and give youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma a long rope and encouragement to bowl as often as possible. He also called for spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar to become a part of India's scheme of things in the T20I format.
Chopra said in a tweet on X, Considering that most of the current Indian batters don't bowl even a couple of overs, the Indian team must start pushing for batters who do. Yashasvi-Tilak should be given a longer rope and encouraged to bowl as often as possible. Washington has to be in India's T20 scheme of things too."

Thoughts on Ishan :
(and ict in general)
1. When he opted out of India's test squad before our series with S. Africa....I knew... I KNEW it will be a long time before we'll get to see him playing for India again.
And then few weeks later Rahul Dravid said in a press conference... He can come back... Just play domestic.... My heart sank.
Here's the thing, I don't blame him at all for taking a break due to mental fatigue.
I fully support his decision as well. He prioritised himself and that's good.
But my dude... If I was your friend, if I was there with you... I wouldn't have let you go.
I would have grabbed his trousers and refused to let go. This is team India. You take one step back and 10 other people are standing right behind you ready to take your place.
Shubhman gill was hyped up so much... Remember his 126 in 63 balls against New Zealand?
But he faltered.
And Today he's in reserve.
Jaiswal is going to be our new opener in all 3 formats very soon. And there's nothing wrong with that. The guy earned it.
Ishan left the South Africa Series and a month later during the india Vs England test Series Jurel was picked and he did an excellent job.
Now imagine... Imagine if Ishan was there instead... If ishan had scored those 90 runs.....he would have made his place permanent.
I'll repeat myself.... I don't blame him for leaving... But he should have thought this through. Especially when a guy like Rahul Dravid is your coach.
(he's the same guy who gave declaration during a test match when Sachin Tendulkar was about to score a century. He's not as innocent as he looks.)
Another thing which really hurts me is how so many people complain about him being benched and then dropped but Yaar....there are tons of players who have gone through this.
Even Ashwin was benched. He said in an interview that when his team would win he wouldn't even feel like going in the ground to congratulate them coz of how hurt he felt.
It happens.
.
.
.
Anyways My overall opinion on this drama is :
1. I support him for leaving.
2. But I hate that he left.
3. A block of ice would be a better coach than Rahul Dravid.
Anyways... Jo hogaya so hogaya.
What I want now is for him to focus on his future.
And He can start by leaving Mumbai Indians.
MI was the team who would pick young players, groom and invest in them and make them capable enough for team India.
The MI we have seen this year is no longer that team. It doesn't matter how many reels their insta page puts out, the atmosphere of that team is tense, awkward and a hot mess.
If Mumbai really cared about a future captain as they claimed.... They should have made Ishan their new captain...like how csk and gt did with ruturaj and gill.
But oh well.
Right now... The best he can do is keep himself fit, play domestic and leave MI at THE EARLIEST.
That team, it's atmosphere, the mismanagement and inner conflicts (believe me, they exist) will not help him at all.
Imo, he doesn't need a team to grow. He has developed a good skill set. What he needs now is a stage.
A team like Kkr, RR or Gt will be great for that because these teams don't drop Their players after 1 or 2 matches... Have good coaches, stable environment and a good atmosphere overall.
Ishan is an excellent wicket keeper + batsman and the type of cricket he plays is best suited for t20 format (one day and test also but especially t20).
Whether we win or lose this t20 world cup... This one is the last one for our senior players.
After that, our youngsters will take charge (at least they should).
Yashasvi and Abhishek should be our openers.
Gill, rutu and Riyan would perfect be for middle order.
Ishan, with his explosive batting style, would be the perfect finisher.
Also... This dumb culture of batters not learning bowling (encouraged by this stupid impact rule) that has developed in the Indian team needs to STOP.
Look at Australia and New Zealand's t20 squad. Look at how many all rounders they have.
Look at ours. We won the 2007 cup because of all rounders as well.
Also... We cage our players. We hold them back. A player like Travis head is playing with such ferocity because his style and mindset is supported by his captain, his team and his media.
Meanwhile... If an Indian player attempts to do the same and doesn't make a big score in 2 -3 matches... He'll be benched instantly.
Another thing... If we look up the stats of our players in this year's t20 wc squad...
Except virat, Bumrah and maybe kuldeep ...everyone else is on ram bharose.
When players like n. reddy, ishan, rutu, gill, Riyan, natrajan... will be groomed and given enough opportunities....their aggressive style will be supported instead of criticized.... that's when we will win trophies.

I fail to understand exclusion of Ashwin: Sachin Tendulkar | Cricket News
NEW DELHI: Despite the Australian line-up comprising five left-handers batters, premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was not picked in the India XI for the World Test Championship final as coach Rahul Dravid defended the decision saying that overcast conditions forced the team to pick a fourth specialist seamer. Legendary Sachin Tendulkar however found Ashwin’s exclusion baffling, pointing out…

IPL 2025: Vaibhav Suryavanshi to be benched throughout the tournament? Rahul Dravid's assistant reveals
The buzz around the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is intensifying, and one name that's been generating a lot of chatter is Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This young prodigy, hailed for his raw talent and potential, might be spending the entire tournament on the bench, according to a revelation from Rahul Dravid's assistant. This news has sparked a wave of discussions among fans and pundits, raising questions about team strategy and player development.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a rising star in the domestic circuit, had ignited hopes of a breakthrough IPL season. His inclusion in the squad had been seen as a bold move, a nod to the future. However, the prospect of him being benched throughout the tournament has left many scratching their heads. Is it a strategic decision, a calculated move to groom him for future seasons? Or is it a missed opportunity to unleash his talent on the grand stage?
The Revelation: A Strategic Rationale?
The revelation from Rahul Dravid's assistant has shed some light on the team's thinking. It appears that the decision is rooted in a long-term vision, focusing on Suryavanshi's development rather than immediate impact. The team believes that spending time in the dugout, observing and learning from experienced players, will be invaluable for his growth. The IPL team strategy is a complex thing.
The assistant highlighted that Suryavanshi's inclusion in the squad was primarily aimed at providing him with exposure to the IPL environment. Training alongside international stars, understanding the pressures of top-level cricket, and absorbing the tactical nuances of the game are considered essential for his development. The Rahul Dravid coaching style is very focused on development.
The Debate: Missed Opportunity or Calculated Move?
However, this decision has not been without its critics. Many believe that Suryavanshi's talent deserves to be showcased on the field. They argue that match experience is crucial for a young player's development and that spending an entire season on the bench could hinder his progress. The IPL player development is a hot topic.
The debate centers around the balance between nurturing talent and winning matches. While long-term development is important, the IPL is a results-driven tournament. Teams are under pressure to perform, and playing experienced players is often seen as the safer option. The IPL team selections are always controversial.

The Impact on Suryavanshi's Development
The question remains: how will this decision impact Vaibhav Suryavanshi's development? Will he emerge stronger and more prepared for future seasons? Or will he lose momentum and confidence? The young cricket talent needs to be nurtured.
The answer likely lies in Suryavanshi's attitude and work ethic. If he uses his time on the bench wisely, focusing on learning and improving his skills, he could return stronger than ever. However, if he becomes demotivated and loses focus, the experience could be detrimental. The IPL player psychology is important.
The Team's Perspective: Balancing Talent and Experience
From the team's perspective, the decision to bench Suryavanshi is a calculated risk. They are prioritizing long-term development over short-term gains. They believe that investing in his future will ultimately benefit the team in the long run. The IPL team management has to make tough calls.
The team's strategy also reflects the depth of their squad. They have a roster of experienced players who are capable of delivering consistent performances. This allows them the luxury of benching a promising youngster without compromising their chances of winning. The IPL team rosters are very competitive.
The Fan Reaction: A Mix of Disappointment and Understanding
The fan reaction to this news has been mixed. While some fans are disappointed that they won't get to see Suryavanshi in action, others understand the team's rationale. They recognize the importance of nurturing young talent and building a strong foundation for the future. The IPL fan reactions are always varied.
Social media platforms have been buzzing with discussions and debates. Fans are expressing their opinions, sharing their thoughts, and speculating about Suryavanshi's future. The IPL social media buzz is huge.
Looking Ahead: Suryavanshi's Future in the IPL
Despite the setback, Vaibhav Suryavanshi's future in the IPL remains bright. His talent and potential are undeniable. If he continues to work hard and improve his skills, he will eventually get his opportunity. The IPL future stars are always being watched.
The key for Suryavanshi is to remain patient and focused. He needs to use this experience as a learning opportunity and prepare himself for the challenges ahead. The IPL training sessions are a great time to learn.
In conclusion, the decision to bench Vaibhav Suryavanshi throughout IPL 2025 is a strategic move that reflects the team's long-term vision. While it may be disappointing for fans who were eager to see him in action, it's a decision that could ultimately benefit both the player and the team. [ad_1] Sourav Ganguly at the Tata Steel Trailblazers Conclave 3.0 (PC: RevSportz) Not playing in Pakistan is something that the Indian batters are missing out on. Playing all their Champions Trophy games in Dubai doesn’t give them any undue advantage. Says who? Sourav Ganguly. The former India captain was speaking at the Tata Steel Trailblazers sports conclave organised by RevSportz. “It’s the Indian government which doesn’t permit the Indian team to travel to Pakistan. The BCCI or the Indian team have got nothing to do with this,” said Ganguly in a session named Sourav on Sourav. “I think the Virat Kohlis, Rohit Sharmas and Shubman Gills are missing out on those pitches where other teams are scoring 350 for fun. I don’t think there is any undue advantage at play here.” Ganguly, under whom India finished runners-up in the Champions Trophy in 2000 and became joint-winners in 2002, felt India will have the edge in Sunday’s final against New Zealand. “New Zealand are probably the toughest opposition for India at the moment. Their batting and spin bowling are formidable. But I think India’s batting is stronger. We also have formidable spinners. India are the favourites. Having said that, there are no favourites in a final.” Praising India’s performance in white-ball cricket, Ganguly said it’s phenomenal to reach the final of three ICC events — the 2023 50-over World Cup, the 2024 T20 World Cup, and the ongoing Champions Trophy. “It’s an incredible achievement. How many teams do that? But I think in red-ball cricket, the team has to do better. That’s something Rohit’s team has to address.” Talking about his own legacy, the batter known for his fluency on the off-side of the pitch said it’s about learning from failures. “That’s what reality is. I remember Rahul Dravid saying that he failed 400 times out of 600 opportunities. In life, you will see more frustrating times than the happier ones. The important part is, you have to wake up stronger the next day and look forward to life. You have to get ready for the next day and not look back being harsh on yourself.” Boria Majumdar, the editor of RevSportz, asked Ganguly about the expectations he had of himself when he took over as the captain of the Indian team. He said there were none. “I had no expectations. I had no philosophy. All that I had in mind was the best interest of the team. We had to change the mindset and team culture to win abroad. That was the challenge.” The post India favourites in Champions Trophy final, but New Zealand formidable opponents: Sourav Ganguly appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports. That was the challenge.” The post India favourites in Champions Trophy final, but New Zealand formidable opponents: Sourav Ganguly appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports.
