HISTORY:

Bill Weasley was a war child. Raised in one war, witness to the death and carnage and horror which covered the wizarding world for years, then willing participant and aid to the second war. It’s safe to say, Bill has lived through a lot. As a child and being the oldest he had assisted his mum in raising the others, with Arthur away at months at a time fighting and their house a safe haven for injured and the lost. Chaos came naturally to him alongside keeping a cool head. So when he started school, he was a lot older in soul than most. He was a very intuitive, curious and daring- and very studious. He was one of the few students in Hogwarts lifetime to be given a time turner to complete his numerous studies and still has some of his awards in pride of place at the school. Bill was well liked, friendly and personable, and through the war years took upon himself to be a ‘father’ figure to younger students and comforting them when needed. 

He also did have a bit of a ‘rebel’ streak, befriending Myron Wagtail and Kierley Duke the three of them became their own little trio of ‘musketeers’ - through them Bill came into his own, found a fashion sense modelled on 80′s punk bands and in his 7th year pierced his ear and got a tattoo. He had his heart set in starting a band, learnt the guitar and the three of them planed to become rock gods. He acted out a lot more over the summers, sneaking out of the house and going carousing in muggle cars with his friends or randomly finding themselves miles away from home and at one time- waking up on the beach of Normandy with a kazoo, a traffic cone on his head, a bottle of Kraken and an unexplainable amount of helium balloons His mum wasn’t best pleased, thinking Bill was supposed to be the role model for his other siblings. Despite him graduating with 8 NEWTS. The idea of the band fell apart slightly, Bill knowing he wasn't destined for it but he became a massive supporter of Myron and Kierley who soon found Stubby Boardman and formed the Weird Sisters. and in a way, it was in his own act of defiance to his mum�� he jumped at becoming a curse breaker a year later after finishing school and leaving for months at a time was a godsend. With the war over, he was free to do as he pleased and his job took him to the remotest places in the world. 

Over the years he visited back home, each time his mum becoming more incensed as more tattoos were added or more stories about dangerous tombs and catacombs were told and the dangers he found himself in and the people he’d befriended. But his main joy for coming back, seeing his siblings grow and become the teenagers and adults they were meant to be. each sibling had their own personality and it wasn’t a secret Bill played favourites at times. Especially with the twins and Ginny. And he found himself spending more time at home when Ron went into his fourth year, with the tournament and things on going Bill took the time off and a part of him thinks if he hadn’t come back- maybe he wouldn’t of been landed back in a war. Because then Cedric died and Voldemort came back and he found himself taking up a desk job to remain closer to home and to take care of Arthur when he was attacked. At least there was a plus side, Fleur came into his life and it was safe to say, Bill fell hard and fast for the woman. Again, much to Molly’s displeasure, Bill was quick in forming a relationship with her but not because she was breathtakingly beautiful but because she was smart and talented and had such a fierce fight in her that Bill knew he would be a fool to let her go. 

The fact after his attack she had stood by him so defiantly also became a major selling point and they simply were in complete love with each other. Fleur didn’t try to tame him or change him and put up with his peculiar style and quirks and its one of the things he respects about her. Nor did she try to tame the hatred and anger he felt towards Fenrir who had caused him so much pain. So when they decided to get married, Bill tried not to think how much he was mirroring his own parents who had married so young due to war and fear- but it seemed he was destined to follow in their footsteps and Bill still gets mad at how their perfect night was marred the way it was. But dwelling on it was no good because soon another fight was coming and he and Fleur ended up doing the exact same thing as Molly and Arthur did so long ago- turning their home into a safe house and aiding those who needed it. And when the time came to call to arms, notified by Dean who was still staying with them recovering- he and Fleur rushed to the call. 

The fight was brutal and for Bill, who thought he;d seen it all, nothing would ever erase the memories of that night. All he cared about was seeing this through and making sure his family would survive. It was chaos, more chaos than he bargained for and so much was happening at the same time it was hard to pinpoint where death eaters started and the alliance finished. Hogwarts was turning into ruins and Bill found himself separated from Fleur and his family and instead fighting his way along the higher levels of the school, looking for any survivors or those who needed aid.

It was upon one of the higher levels of flooring Bill saw him once more. His blood turned into lava, his eyes flashing at seeing Fenrir knelt over, ripping into one of the students. He had yelled out a pained no, recognising the student as Lavender- who seemed unmoving and he felt a rage inside him he hadn’t felt before. Without thought he let out a shout, more on equal to a howl as he rushed towards the werewolf and with all his strength sent both of them barrelling over the side- they collided brutally to the ground, landing on a remaining level of the second floor, claws ripping into cloth and sharpened fingernails into fur and skin. Blood, bone, spit- it wasn’t anything pretty and hits continued to reign down. His wand was to the side somewhere, the heat and rush of a need to kill filled him and it was a feeling he hadn’t ever experienced before but he had reached out to grab a piece of the broken Hogwart’s stone and with ferocity proceeded to smash it continuously onto the werewolves’ skull. This was retribution. Fenrir had done this. To him and now to that poor girl. But not anymore. Nails or claws, he didn't know what they were retracted once the werewolf wasn't moving and the blood rush and strength he had felt drained, leaving him gasping and exhausted on top of the werewolf carcass and a confused Bill wondered what had happened in those few minutes.

He had personally carried Lavender into the hall when it was over, placing her beside the fallen and wept at hearing his own brother Fred had been caught up in a blast caused by them. No one had ever seen Bill cry before and he found once he started, he couldn’t stop. 

Since the war, Bill has kept a steady job with Gringotts, instead accepting smaller, short term assignments and instead focused on making a life with Fleur and creating a family. They were blessed with Victoire, aptly named from the victory they were part of. Bill hasn’t mentioned to anyone his own contribution to the fight nor what he’d done. And he most likely will never speak of it. Now, he focuses on his family and helping them and being the wise older brother they go to for advice.

Do you know how these live gigs work acoustically? RAH is big, it's like a 5k seat venue. It's 2x the Ryman. I wonder how you even plan that sound-wise, with a mostly empty space?

i’m sure they take that into account as they’re planning the setup? the concept of it for people in the room as it’s happening wouldn’t really be all that different to sound checking. and i’d assume the audio feed they’d use for the stream is probably the mix coming straight from the soundboard, which would keep a lot of that extra reverb and echo from the empty room out of the mix. and in that case, they’d probably have MORE control over what’s being sent out and how it sounds because they’re not mixing for the live room, they’re only mixing for what sounds good on the stream.

Been to any concerts: too many to mention but I was blessed to see Robert Plant 2xs during his last tour. He pointed at me when he sang “Mama you need love”. (Although he did point at someone in each of the 4 sections up front. He’s such a great singer & performer). Saw Bob Seger who blew me away, and Los Lonely Boys who kinda disappointed me due to their short performance (about 1.5 hours and their blowing off the few of us who waited by the tour bus hoping for an autograph ) but they are still really good musicians.
