on one hand franky is a goofy little freak of a guy in hawaiian shirt and a speedo. on the other he was abandoned by his parents and taken in by a ragtag group who he kept expecting to throw him away too. he is a creator whose creations would ultimately tear his family apart and hurt everyone he’s ever loved. who tried trading his life for tom’s, who fully expected to die, but was forced to live on and fix his mangled body (tom told him a builder must always love/be proud of what he builds. so he fixed himself with metal and calls himself a battle franky). who loves his brother and stays in waters 7 to protect him even if they’re forced together wrapped in barb wire. who collects his own misfits and becomes the face of underworld of the city to his brothers mayor. who dismantles ships instead of building them. who survives out of guilt and burden waiting for the government to come for iceburg, and offer himself in his place. who instead meets the strawhats and finds his freedom
