La domenica specialmente è un film del 1991 composto da quattro episodi, diretti da Giuseppe Tornatore, Marco Tullio Giordana, Francesco Barilli e Giuseppe Bertolucci.

Le brevi storie sono tratte dalla raccolta di racconti Il polverone di Tonino Guerra. L'episodio più gradito al pubblico fu proprio quello di Tornatore, mentre l'episodio meglio riuscito secondo la critica, fu quello di Marco Tullio Giordana[senza fonte].

Nell'edizione per gli Stati Uniti l'episodio di Francesco Barilli è assente.

Tornatore, nel suo episodio, torna a dirigere l'attore francese Philippe Noiret dopo Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (1988), in cui Noiret interpretava il celebre ruolo dell'operatore Alfredo.

Buona parte del film è stata girata in Romagna:

- l'episodio "Il cane blu" è stato girato a Mondaino, dove vive e lavora il personaggio interpretato da Noiret, Saludecio per le scene all'interno della chiesa e Morciano di Romagna per le scene dei porticati;

I liked the part with the chimney.

Castle Freak certainly lived up to its name. There was a castle. There was a freak. That's about it as far as the premise went. It did deal with some character drama relating to past guilt and a failing marriage, but ultimately that didn't matter much. I was having mildly spooky fun for the most part, but things definitely got a little too rapey in the second half. 

The scene in which Sylvana (Raffaella Offidani) was assaulted was particularly distasteful; I think the decision to pair the most brutally violent effects in the movie with a sexual assault, especially inflicting it on an innocent prostitute the Freak had no plot motivation to attack, just didn't sit well with me. 

There was so much potential for the murders to be tied into the family's past sins, or some curse on their bloodline, but it was just a disfigured guy randomly killing people in a castle. I thought they would build on the similarity between his baby photo and the dead son too, but nothing came of that either.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I expected more of this than it delivered. Not bad, just a little disappointing.
