honestly the Merlin fandom is so lucky that one of, if not the longest, fics in the fandom is actually, genuinely, incredibly good. i don't think there's another fandom I've been in where the longfics are consistently good. im guessing student prince is one of the most kudosed and it deserves it but ALSO. the fact that we really got a million+ words of IN CHARACTER well-written plot and conflict and drama and humor and good dialogue... man. loaded march forever the goat. top 3 fics of all time
