Pokemon Card of the Day Schedule: Generations

Generations was a set released for the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, and most of the cards in it were Pokemon from Gen 1. Most of the exceptions were in the Radiant Collection sub-set, which was from a different group of cards released in Japan, made to be pretty for collectors. The result of a set based on celebrating an anniversary and collecting was that there weren’t a lot of great cards in it. They simply weren’t meant to be that way, though there were a couple of reprints from earlier in XY, such as Raichu, to be noted. A couple of exceptions to the rule also existed, with Jolteon-EX being a pain for decks relying completely on Basic Pokemon, Olympia providing switching and minor healing, Revitalizer helping Grass decks keep Pokemon in play, and Flareon-EX being a solid attacker while also being far cuter than you could even imagine. Most of this look-through will be a bunch of Pokemon-EX, a few Trainers, and one gimmick that has to be looked at despite being bad. When you look through the list you may spot the one I mean.

You overpower Dragon, Flying, Grass, and Ground types, but crack against Fire, Rock, Steel, and Fighting. Some notable Ice type Pokemon are Walrein, Abomasnow, Lapras, Weavile, and Froslass!

You are a Grass type trainer! You are nurturing and caring, with empathy for the life around you! You have decent stats overall, with nothing extremely advantageous or disadvantageous in your type. Your Pokemon specialize in overwhelming opponents with a frenzy of vines, plants, nettles, and trees, and have access to a wide range of status conditions through powders and spores, not to mention they can restore their own Health while leeching it from their opponent, a technique nearly unique to your type specialty! You dominate Ground, Rock, and Water types, but fall short when it comes to Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Poison.
