My muses have been dropping like leaves this month as I evaluate my life's schedule and priorities, and it's time to admit that this was coming no matter what for me.

At just about 3 years and had I done upcoming claims, 69 skill points, Soren has won RP and it's time to let him go home. I have other projects I'm putting my creative time and energy into and with my goals being shifted towards the long work of original writing and trying to purposefully improve aspects of writing that RP just can't do, it's what's best for me right now.

It's hard to send, and I hope that those of you I've gotten to know over the past years will still be in touch/a friend to me. Our fellow writers are what matter, less the muses that they write.

I think getting Soren to a place where he's been happy was both challenging LOL and a very rewarding set of arcs to write, and with that I'd like to drop Soren.

Tell us some funfacts and trivia about yourself! one time when i was 6 a playdate i was having ended so me and the person i was hanging out with (i barely knew her and did not consider her a friend) decided our only course of action was to run away from home and i think it's really funny. we did get decently far.

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? hmhmhm. i like themes of belonging and not-belonging i think? places and people with which you feel at home, places you feel adrift and lost and that disconnect where it falls apart. i also really like unreliable narration, horror and that unsettling slightly delusional tonal dissonance when i have occasion to whip it out to maximum effect :)

I’ve always been super into mythology, all of them. I used to think that Carl Jung was onto something with the collective unconscious but then Anthropology and the reality of multilineal evolution ruined that for me (college will teach you things); but that’s alright because humans their ability to create and interpret their surroundings with equal parts love and fear is still pretty cool.

Some funfacts & trivia about you:

-Agnostic but i work in an occult library (it’s pretty quiet; the new age bookshop across the street has all the events)

-One time on Gaia Online I was kicked out of an Okami RP bc I didn’t make my posts aesthetic enough, and I thought it was just the most heart wrenching thing -I’m not sure what people stand to gain back in Ye Old Runescape luring new players out into the wild and PKing them but I was gullible enough to follow some other players at like 7 yrs old and this would have happened to me if i wasnt SUPER good at clicking my mouse and running out of there. Surviving such a harrowing experience made me think i was truly invincible.

-I was supposed to write my final paper for my Japanese Buddhism class on… surprise, Japanese Buddhism but I really wanted to talk about Kenji Miyazawa’s writings instead so I spun it through a lens of his Nichiren conversion and its impact on his poetry. My prof saw right through me but I still got an A.

End of 2020/beginning of 2021 I was really trying to get back into rp but couldn’t get into the various systems on discord. One community that I was trying was affiliates with The Officer’s Academy and an active tumblr community rly caught my interest. The rest is history!

Not really? I need to be able to connect with them on some level obviously, and I tend to prefer characters who have like a clear childhood or background for why they are That Way. Micaiah was actually p difficult for this reason but being able to really shape her based on what little we know also made me ever more fond. ♥️ I love to stare at pegasusknight and serenesforest supports pages late at night tehe

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most?

I don’t particularly plan ahead but I really love when threads reflect past character development whether in a thread with the same muse or different. TOA extended universe… I’d like to do that more I think but first I have to actually make a support page huh? Since Rhea’s back she’s made more bonds though and that makes me happy.

Favorite TOA-related memory: Definitely Unlocked 2021! It was my first event after really starting to warm to the TOA community and i was an awe of the scope of the events. The mods thought this far ahead?! We can do this?! Every event since has just been even more fun but the surprise and intrigue i felt then really stayed with him

Some funfacts & trivia about you: I fell asleep at a scout camp once in the toilets and didn't hear the tannoy that was sent out for me. My grandfather taught me how to stroke bees. Roleplay experience: my first experience rping was when i was like 12 or so. i started off doing cringe ass rp in deviantart group chats (if anyone remembers those). i didn't start doing (cringey attempts) @ legit para rp until i was 15 or 16 where i used deviantart and tumblr interchangeably. i experimented with panfandom rp for a bit and then a little while after that i found toa!

Some interests and things you like: video games and animanga, mostly. i like (mostly j)rpgs, visual novels/otome games and rogue-lites. i used to bingewatch 30 episode animes in one day when i was younger LMAO. nowadays i mostly just stick to reading manga with my favorite genres being shoujo & josei. i don't stick to the new anime seasons anymore so these are some oldies, but my favorite anime of the past would probably be kaitou saint tail and nana. the newest anime i've probably enjoyed and actually remember is akatsuki no yona.

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play?: uhhh most of my main interest in vidja games is fire emblem, but actively rn i play like mobage and rhythm games on the side. other big interest games for me would probably be the botw series (not neccesarily zelda overall but), persona 5, ffxiv a LOT in the past, hades…. i cannot think of anything else off the top of my head LOL

Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: blaziken you are my favorite little guy. my favorite type is probably electric or ice though.

How did you get into Fire Emblem?: i saw fire emblem awakening at gamestop and remembering marth from smash bros decided to buy it

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? oh man. childhood favorites that stick with me are Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy. I've dipped into Tales of, though the only one I've completed is Vesperia (beloved game). Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 are both amazing. Splatoon is my favorite shooter. I've gotten lost in Pillars of Eternity for hundreds of hours. I think my fav Elder Scrolls game has become Oblivion for some reason. Sometimes I dive into sim games like Planet Zoo or Two Point Hospital for a bit. I like video games!!

Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again? Python was my first! He's definitely the one I'm most confident in, and I see him as kind of my "bedrock muse" for now.

Have you had any other TOA muses? I had Reyson for a short-ish time!

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? I think I'm still feeling out the difference between "types of characters i gravitate toward liking" and "types of characters I gravitate toward writing". I do think I feel most comfortable writing supporting characters with enough backstory for me to tease out and build up from there!

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? I love character connection. Whether it's spoken aloud or not, I like little moments where I can have my muse compare a character to someone else they know, or see each other in a different way. I also love when characters have conflicting views and motivations and have to deal with that in one way or another!

Favorite TOA-related memory: KKE Team Guard coming together for that crazy rapid-fire chat that Ree sprung on us for the finale is definitely a strong one! It was so fun seeing different characters shine throughout the conversations, and on my own end I loved having an opportunity to let Python lose his cool for once >:3

I went looking for content that I haven't posted on this blog before, so here, have a couple of random snippets of content from other WIPs or RPs or whatever.

SOFT Arabella (Dragon Age: Inquisition)

Arabella hadn't even started her work before Cole had arrived, drawn by her radiant pain. So powerful was it that even the other mages, not in touch with emotion as the spirit was, kept a wide berth as they joined her in the tower after their morning meal.

"You are hungry, and you are hurting." His voice was soft, coming from the window sill, as gentle but calloused fingers pressed an apple into her hand.

Even such a ginger gesture brought back all the heartbreak to the forefront, and she hated how readily her lip began to tremble with the threat of tears once more. There was a pause, broken only by the rustle of cloth as Cole came down off the sill to peer at her. "You saw him for the first time, but he didn't see you." She made a soft sound, choked and broken. A moment later, hesitant hands came to rest on her shoulders. "May I hug you?" Cole had learned recently that such gestures were found comforting between friends. Arabella was a friend. One who needed comfort, desperately.

She inhaled, trying to hide the catching of her breath, but it only sounded like a sniffle. There really was no sense in hiding it, then. She nodded. Arms, surprisingly strong for how gangly they were, closed around her shoulders. She leaned gratefully against him, hiding her face from the world as tears came fresh to her eyes once more. "I thought… I thought…." But whatever she thought would never be known, for she dissolved into sobs before she could finish. Perhaps it wasn't necessary. Cole always knew, anyway.

HEART Sabine/Elijah

“Is it often your habit, doctor, to escort your patients from their impromptu appointment in the street directly to their prescribed bed-rest?” Sabine wore a smile that said she had taken no offence at his audacity, despite her teasing.

A chastened smile pulled at the corners of Elijah's lips. “Ah. Forgive me. I am accustomed to treating soldiers, who must be pressed into accepting treatment for anything but the most grave wounds. They would rarely rest as ordered unless I tucked them into the sheets myself.”

Sabine's easy smile grew playful. “Oh? Shall I take this to mean that you intend to tuck me into bed yourself, as well?”

There was a pause as Elijah glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, taking the measure of her mood. He'd seen that light in her eyes before, the one that dared him to try and match her wit. So he tipped his head to catch her gaze, his own hooded with amusement, and responded in a manner almost coy; “I intended to escort you to your door, but if you would prefer that I take you as far as your bed, then you need only ask.”

Sabine responded with a wicked smile that held Elijah's attention for much longer than it should have - long enough that he found himself grateful that it was dawn and that the streets were empty, because he was certain he would have walked into someone at a busier moment. “How could I refuse an offer of private care from so adept a physician?”

Tempting as it was, Elijah still felt how heavily she leaned on his arm in her exhaustion. He hooked his cane over his arm so he could lift his other hand to her face once more; he caught her chin with his fingers and met her gaze in a reflection of the same gesture he'd made only minutes before. This time, however, it was clearly simply an excuse for affection, his thumb gliding over the edge of her jaw. “If I stayed, would you sleep?”

Sabine's heartbeat fluttered at his touch, taking a moment to refocus as she considered his question. “If you stayed, would you let me?”

“I should,” Elijah answered, and paused as his gaze dropped to her lips. “But I'm not certain that I would.” With a heavy breath, he straightened, pulling away from the sudden desire to kiss her. He brushed his fingers over her cheek before dropping his hand away from her face to use his cane properly once again. “Perhaps it would be wiser to avoid such potent temptation.”

Sabine yawned again, and let her head come to rest against his shoulder as they continued their slow journey to her home. “Wiser, yes, but considerably less gratifying.”

EYES Mal/Dallas

Clinging, crawling, rolling over her skin. Mal felt filthy. She was filthy. They'd made her shower at the ward. A small, dank room, with cracked tiles that let the water through, so the walls smelled of mold. It had no curtain. No privacy. And she couldn't remember caring about the eyes on her at the time. Why? Why did it matter what they saw? They'd all see her naked on the slab after she was dead. But even if she'd showered yesterday - or was it the day before? Time felt so strange. But recent. Not that it mattered. Her near-death and the struggle against the drugs saw her entire body coated in a thin layer of grime.

There were no bathtubs at the ward. The one in Dallas' apartment was small, but it would serve. She couldn't stand the thought of showering. The eyes hadn't bothered her then. But they did now. She'd managed to strip down and step one foot into the shower before she'd panicked under the imagined feeling of a nurse standing at her back, watching. She sank into the tub - the water wasn't even turned on yet - and hid behind the wall of it, peering out at the empty bathroom as if she expected an orderly to pop out from behind the bathroom mirror and shout at her for playing instead of washing. She didn't feel like she was playing. The terror made it hard to breathe.

"Dallas?" Her tone, thready and weak, barely carried through the door. He had to have been nearby, or listening, because he responded. She wasn't entirely listening to what he said - it didn't matter. All she needed was to hear his voice. "Just checking," she explained softly, pushing herself to her feet. Wrapping herself in a towel, she turned on the water and let the tub fill, watching the steam fill the room while the water filled the porcelain. She liked the way the water thumped through the pipes. It sounded different here. And inescapable reminder of being free filling her ears. Big breaths, calming heartbeat. Everything was fine. She was home.

She turned the water off, and slipped into the bath. The silence was deafening, especially after the sound of the running water. She considered turning the water back on again, as panic began to close her throat. Huddled against the back of the tub, her wide eyes were trying to take in as much of the room as she could, to remind herself that she was here and not there but it wasn't working and the tears were beginning to swim and she couldn't see anymore and the white tiles looked the same when they were blurred...

"Dallas?" Her voice was thick with a barely contained sob. His response came even quicker, this time. Worried. He could hear her distress. But the sound of him was enough. She could breathe. She relaxed, sinking into the water. "It is okay. I was just checking."

Overview of Apex Legends Latest Season

Introduction: I have been playing Apex since season 2 and consider myself a veteran of Apex. And so, with this season some major changes were implemented which is probably not optimal for new players. From new guns, new legend, weapon adjustments, this season has kept players on the edge of their seats. Let's delve into the highs and lows of this comprehensive review of Apex legends season 20.

New legends: One of the most anticipated aspects of any Apex season is the introduction of new legends. Conduit has joined the roster, bringing her unique playstyle to the battlefield. Conduit is a new support that changed the meta especially in the pro scene. Her abilities saviour's speed which grants her a speed boost if she is out of tactical range. Whereas radiant transfer gives teammates and herself temporary shields. Her ultimate is an array of shield jamming devices which slows and damages enemies.

Weapon Balancing and Shields: Season 20 brought significant changes to the weapon meta, with adjustments made to several weapons to promote balance and fair gameplay. While some players were initially skeptical of these changes, overall consensus seems positive. The tweaks have resulted in people using more guns instead of just using guns like the r99, peacekeeper, flatline, havoc, etc. allowing players to experiment with different loadouts. Additionally, players can no longer pick up shields from ground loot and instead have to deal damage to players, opening special bins, and use evo harvesters in order to upgrade their shields. Not only that but now you have to select between two upgrades at level 2 and level 3. These upgrades are essential and game-changing if you want to survive. Apart from this they slightly nerfed armor swaps where you could just grab the enemy’s armor regardless of how leveled it was. Now it is temporary, so you have to use it wisely for when the 3rd parties show up.

Ranked:

The ranked system has undergone numerous changes, sparking intense discussions within the community each time. While not all changes have been universally praised, especially among solo players, the developers persist in their efforts to cater to and satisfy their player base. Season 20 introduced several changes such as resetting everyone to 1 RP where the player will have to climb to the highest rank. The new system also features ways for players to earn more points for kills, assists, and placement for each match. The devs also acknowledged the unfair matchmaking, sever stability, and cheaters. Unfortunately, they are still working on fixing these issues, however it has gotten better. This revamped ranking system, improved matchmaking, and new rewards will hopefully retain more players.

Conclusion: As Season 20 has just begun there is still a lot to test out. Each match has been a testament to the dynamic and ever-changing battle royal. With new legends, weapon balancing, shields, and ranked system, Season 20 has offered something for everyone, ensuring that the excitement never dies. As we eagerly await the dawn of season 21, one thing is certain: the future of Apex seems like it’s far from over. Stay tuned!
