My experience of reading ch 8 of glory was like taking a nice relaxing walk on a rainy day and then getting splashed with water by a car speeding by. In a good way? I loved it!

That means that the fear and shock do not belong to him either. God, he's feeling Alex's fear and Alex's shock. He pushes Alex away before he can feel his disgust alongside it.

Congrats on finishing glory! I loved it. If you ever need an excuse to share behind the scenes or any thoughts on what the post credits would’ve looked like, I’d be so interested in hearing about it!

ah thank you so much!! i'm so glad you're interested; i already miss writing/posting it, haha.

the post-credits scene was really short, and just involved them stopping at an inn just before sunrise to rest before moving on to meet up with wyll, karlach, cal, lia and victoria. raphael decides to pop into their room uninvited and says they have unfinished business, and when they argue and tell him that the ritual won't happen no matter what his father wants, he says his father now has bigger concerns.

then he asks gale if he's ever heard of the crown of karsus, and it ends lol.

i feel like i will eventually write something about gale's act 3 shift to losing his mind about the crown and really wrestle with his thought process there, but my favorite way to do that is by contrasting it with astarion's own struggle to ascend or not, and i obviously couldn't do that in this AU. so i'd rather leave that kind of narrative for another fic and not really get into it for Glory or anything Glory-adjacent!

i think it stands alone as it is; the only thing left unsettled that i kind of wanted to hit was the orb and mystra's reaction to gale not using it, and that's mostly because she would've had to admit that she really wanted gale dead more than she cared about getting rid of cazador; i wholly believe that's true in-game, like she wanted him and the crown, and especially the "threat" of him knowing about the crown and being able to use it, neutralized way more than she cared about the absolute.

"With you, I forget my goddess" is one of the most impactful lines I've read in any bw fic. I was still ruminating on it when I got suckerpunched by the cliffhanger at the end of ch 9. Very excited for the conclusion and egg fic 👀

you know, if/when i ever write in-game fic, i don't think i'll be one of those that transcribes whole scenes. however!! some lines are just so beautiful and borrowing them to fit in this AU in different contexts has been really fun! this is like the gale romance line and it's so gorgeous in the boat scene. i've sort of twisted the line a bit from how gale uses it in-game and i have a great time with things like that, haha.

in the game, gale says this when he's making his case for the crown: he's using it as both a declaration of love and to explain why he wants to live. in this AU, he's using it differently: it's still a declaration of love, but it's about being willing to die to save astarion, not on mystra's orders but on his own conviction that this is the way he has to do things. love, to him, is sacrifice and danger and worship because that's all he's ever known, and he can't comprehend that astarion wants anything else of him.

it did feel weird to borrow from act 3 for this very act 2 gale, but i think it fits well!! and it's very sad. i promise i will fix it 😬

What I like about it

I like the first gif A LOT and i like how i managed to okay with the colors! And of course the idea and the meaning of the gifset!

What might have disappointed me in it

the notes but wbk, from the work part hmm maybe i could done the texts a bit more tidy

What was difficult to do

It is a pretty easy gifset for me but the lines so they are in the same place as the following one in the next gif

the whole thing im 100% satisfied with it and i really like it!

What may have been a surprise

How I included the thailand colors! it was totally improvised, i was gonna go with yellow and blue bc of alex outfit in that video!

Why I decided to do it/What inspired me

The amount of joy and warmth that video with ted and alex gave me specially the part i giffed were they go to thailand, all the kids waving the little banderines with the AA23 and the words ted and alex said!

If I learned anything while making it

cheating a bit on this one but i dont dislike a color alone, i dislike combinations of them bc every time i do something with them it doesnt do it for me and those are red and blue 😭

I dislike this bc I cant seem to get it to work but paper with lines it, Ive seen so many good edits with them but I cant work it out.
