Four Israelis were killed and another four were wounded in a shooting attack by two terrorists at a gas station outside of the West Bank settlementof Eli on Tuesday afternoon.Â
One of the victims was identified as Elisha Antman, a resident of the town of Eli. Another was identified as Harel Masoud, a resident of Yad Binyamin.
During an exchange of fire, one of the terrorists was shot and killed by an armed Israeli civilian, while the other fled.
Shin Bet, IDF and Border Police forces shot and killed the second terrorist after locating him and attempting to arrest him a short time later. They followed him upon his escape, according to a joint statement, and eventually found his car abandoned. The security forces continued to track the terrorist and attempted to arrest him once he was found. He was killed when he resisted arrest, according to their statement.
During the search, the Israeli security forces employed the use of a helicopter and set up additional checkpoints in the area. Â
"Two terrorists entered a restaurant near the gas station [where they] shot and killed three civilians. They then came out and fatally shot a civilian who was refueling his car. Another citizen who was at the gas station opened fire and managed to neutralize one of the terrorists, the other apparently fled the scene," ZAKA (rescue and recovery organization) spokesman Moti Bookchin said.
The terrorist who was killed on site was identified as Muhannad Shahada, a resident of the village of Ourif near Nablus in the West Bank, according to Palestinian reports cited by Army Radio.Â
Four killed, four wounded in the attack
One of the four additional wounded, a 20-year-old man in serious condition, was transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. He is in serious but stable condition with a gunshot wound in his upper body and will soon undergo surgery, according to the hospital.
Two additional wounded are in moderate and another in light condition, according to MDA. They were transported to Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.
"We received a report at MDA's 101 hotline about a shooting attack at a gas station next to Eli. We arrived with large forces at the gas station and saw a difficult scene," said senior medic Motti Dahan from MDA. "[Eight] had suffered gunshot wounds, some of them at the gas station and some at the nearby restaurant...Three of the wounded were evacuated to hospitals in MDA intensive care vehicles and unfortunately, we had to pronounce the death of 4 victims."
"Unfortunately four people were pronounced dead following resuscitation attempts that were unsuccessful," United Hatzalah volunteer paramedics Aviah Chaim and Yoni Rosenfeld said. "In addition, we provided initial treatment to four more people who suffered from gunshot wounds. Due to the nature of the incident, United Hatzalah's Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit also treated a number of people for emotional shock."
Following the attack, Eli settlement chairman Ariel Elmaliach called on the residents to stay in their homes, because of the possibility that the second terrorist had entered the town. The all-clear was given about an hour and a half afterward.
Politicians express condolences, security chiefs to meet later
"The time has come to launch a military operation in Judea and Samaria. Return to targeted killings, take down buildings, put up checkpoints, expell terrorists and pass the death penalty for terrorists."
"Settlers have become ducks on a shooting range," National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said at the scene of the attack in Eli. "I call on the Prime Minister, I call on Minister Gallant, the time has come to launch a military operation in Judea and Samaria. Return to targeted killings, take down buildings, put up checkpoints, expell terrorists and pass the death penalty for terrorists in the second and third Knesset reading."
"Difficult news from Eli. Four murdered people and the heart breaks for the families and the friends who lost their dearest persons in a murderous terror attack," opposition leader Yair Lapid said. "I send condolences and share in the grief of the families and pray together with the whole of Israel for healing and comfort... I trust [Israeli security forces] to catch the murderers and their senders."
"I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the families of those murdered in the terrible attack in Eli and wish the injured a speedy and full recovery," National Unity chairman and former Defense Minister Benny Gantz said. "At this time, determined and responsible actions are required, led by the security forces. We will back up every correct decision of the government in the face of murderous terrorism."
Foreign Minister Eli Cohen also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. "It has been a difficult day. My heart breaks for the 4 people murdered in the horrific terrorist attack near Eli. I send my condolences to their families, pray for the wounded to be healed, and support the security forces. In the face of the terrorism that is rearing its head, we must react with determination and strength. The Palestinian Authority, which pays terrorists and their families for murdering Jews, encourages terrorism. I call on the international community to strongly condemn this criminal policy."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that âall options are openâ following the terror attack. âWe will continue to fight terror with full force, and we will defeat it,â he stated.
Netanyahu said that Israel âproved in recent months that we make all the murderers pay, without exception. Anyone who harms us is in a grave or in prison. That will happen here, as well.â
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Tuesday that he was receiving ongoing updates on the situation. He added that at 6 p.m. he would hold a meeting with the chiefs of the military, the Shin Bet and other senior defense officials.
Israeli residents of the northern West Bank called for demonstrations at Eli and Rachelim junctions on Tuesday evening, in order to protest against the lacking response by the government and security forces, in their view.
This is a developing story.
Lahav Harkov contributed to this story.

Feel Safe, Heal Deep: The Science Behind Apollo Neuro and Mental Wellness
đ Hey Vibe Science listeners! Today, weâre diving into one of the most innovative wellness technologies out thereâApollo Neuro. If youâve ever struggled with stress, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from your body, this might just be the solution youâve been searching for.
Developed by Dr. Dave Rabin, a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, Apollo Neuro is designed to help your body feel safe so it can focus on healing. It uses soothing vibrations to send signals of safety to your nervous system, calming you down and helping you stay balanced. Whether youâre battling PTSD, anxiety, or just trying to stay centered in a fast-paced world, Apollo Neuro can help. đ§ââïž
đ The Healing Power of Safety
Hereâs the deal: healing requires safety. Your body canât heal if itâs constantly in survival mode. When weâre stressed or anxious, our nervous system shifts into fight or flight, sending blood and energy to our muscles and heart so we can "survive." This leaves little room for healing, digestion, or even creative thinking.
But when we feel safe, our body shifts gears. Blood and energy flow back to our recovery systems, allowing us to heal and recover. This is why techniques like yoga, meditation, and deep breathing are so effectiveâthey help us feel safe and calm. Apollo Neuro taps into this same science, but in a way thatâs easy to use every day.
By wearing Apollo, youâre essentially giving your body a hugâa reminder that itâs okay to relax and let go of stress. đ±
đŹ The Future of Mental Health
Dr. Rabinâs work isnât just limited to Apollo Neuro. Heâs also a leading researcher in MDMA-assisted therapy, which is showing groundbreaking success in treating PTSD. Unlike traditional medications, which often only work for 30% of patients, MDMA-assisted therapy has a success rate of 70-88%. Thatâs huge!
Unfortunately, the path to FDA approval has been slow, but the science is clear: this therapy can change lives. Until then, technologies like Apollo Neuro are making a significant impact by giving people the tools they need to feel safe and heal. đ
If youâre ready to learn more, check out Dr. Rabinâs work at wearablehug.com or follow him on social media for the latest updates on mental health, healing, and wellness.

Artificial cornea restores patientâs vision An artificial cornea developed by an Israeli company has been successfully implanted in the eye of a man who lost his sight a decade ago.
According to a release by CorNeat Vision, the 78-year-old patient regained his vision after the CorNeat KPro device was implanted into the eye.
The company said the implant replaces deformed, scarred or opacified corneas as it melds with the eye wall. The device is designed to integrate with ocular tissue using a patented synthetic non-degradable nanofabric skirt, which is placed under the conjunctiva.
The procedure was performed Jan. 11 by Professor Irit Bahar, the head of the ophthalmology department at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, Israel.
Following the procedure, the company reported that the patient was able to recognize his family and read words.
âThe moment we took off the bandages was emotional and significant,â Dr. Bahar said in a statement. âMoments like these are the fulfillment of our calling as doctors. We are proud of being at the forefront of this exciting and meaningful project which will undoubtedly impact the lives of millions.â
In 2020, CorNeat Vision was granted approval to move forward with clinical trials of the artificial cornea on 10 patients who had corneal blindness.
Gilad Litvin, MD, CorNeat Vision's co-founder, chief medical officer, and the inventor of the CorNeat KPro, said in a statement that being in the room with the patient was a âsurrealâ experience.
"After years of hard work, seeing a colleague implant the CorNeat KPro with ease and witnessing a fellow human being regain his sight the following day was electrifying and emotionally moving, there were a lot of tears in the room,â Dr. Litvin said in the statement. âThis is an extremely important milestone for CorNeat Vision, key in our journey to enable people around the world to fully enjoy their vision potential."
Almog Aley-Raz, CorNeat Vision's co-founder, CEO and vice president of research and development, noted in the statement that the implantation is the first step in a multi-national clinical trial, geared toward attaining CE Mark, FDA clearance and China NMPA approval.
Aley-Raz noted that a total of 10 patients are approved for the trial at Rabin Medical Center in Israel with 2 additional sites planned to open this January in Canada and 6 others at different stages in the approval process in France, the United States, and the Netherlands.
âOur first trial includes blind patients who are not suitable candidates for- or have failed one or more corneal transplantations,â Aley-Raz said in the statement. âGiven the visual performance of our device, the expected healing time and retention, and the fact that it cannot carry disease, we plan to initiate a second study later this year with broader indications to approve our artificial cornea as a first line treatment, displacing the use of donor tissue used in full thickness corneal transplantations."

DERMATOLOGY
1.Effect of sun exposure (climatotherapy) at the Dead Sea on photodamage among patients with psoriasis and comparison with other versions of treatment modalities. David M., Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson Hospital, Department of Dermatology, Israel and other Dermatology Departments in Israel. The conclusions of the study 650 patients who were treated at the Dead Sea for five years or more, were that âDead Sea treatment,â based on exposing the patients to the sun at the Dead Sea, does not pose a risk factor for the appearance of skin cancer.
Correlation between Clinical Improvement, Epidermal and Lymphocytic Activation in Psoriatic Patients after Dead Sea Treatment. Hodak E., David M., Gottlieb A., This study suggests that climatotherapy at the Dead Sea leads to a reversal of both epidermal pathological changes and lymphocytic activation in psoriasis. These observations may provide the cellular basis for the sustained remission of psoriasis reported to be achieved by this treatment modality.
Comparison of the Cost-Effectiveness between Dead Sea Treatment for Psoriasis and the In-Hospital Setting in Switzerland. Neeser K., Palmer A.J., Sturzinger M., The clinical outcomes of the Dead Sea Treatment for Psoriasis was comparable to in-hospital therapy, but cost saving varied from 31% to 55%. Thus, the results of this study indicate that considering economic factors, climatotherapy at the Dead Sea is preferable to in-hospital therapy for Swiss psoriasis patients.
Significant Improvement in Life Quality of Psoriasis Patients after Dead Sea Treatment. Amir M., Vardy D., Narkiss T., Becker G., Buskila D., Heliotherapy at the Dead Sea improves certain aspects of quality of life in patients suffering from Psoriasis. A comparative study for outpatient phototherapy is presently being planned.
In vitro Dead Sea Bath Salt for Psoriasis. Halevy S., This study shows good correlation between beneficial clinical effect induced by balneotherapy with Dead Sea bath salt in psoriasis vulgaris and alterations in histological parameters, expression of cytokines and serum levels of traces elements. Further investigations are needed in order to understand the various mechanisms possibly involved.
Combination of Dead Sea Treatment and Calcipotriol for Psoriasis. Abels D.J., This control study shows improved therapeutic results by a combination of a Calcipotriol (versus emollients) pre-Dead Sea treatment and its continued use during Dead Sea climatotherapy. The response in the combination group continued to be better following 2, 3 and 4 weeks after Dead Sea treatment.

Jewish Boycott
The movement to boycott Israel is very strong on college campuses, and growing. Â It has even been introduced by Representatives Omar and Tlaid in Congress. Â The information below is very telling.
Jewish BoycottA short time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Muslim World to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people. In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:
"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. He should not even try to find out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test is the discovery of a Jew.Â
If a Muslim suspects that he has Gonorrhea, he must not seek diagnosis, because he will be using the method of a Jew named Neissner. "
A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a discovery by a Jew, Ludwig Traube.
Should he suffer with a toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a discovery of the Jews, Widal and Weil.
If a Muslim has Diabetes, he must not use Insulin, the result of research by Minkowsky, a Jew. If one has a headache, he must shun Pyramidon and Antypyrin, due to the Jews, Spiro and Ellege.
Muslims with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew, Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate.
Arabs must do likewise with their psychic ailments because Freud, father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew.
Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he must refrain from the Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew, Bella Schick.
"Muslims should be ready to die in great numbers and must not permit treatment of ear and brain damage, work of Jewish Nobel Prize winner, Robert Baram.
They should continue to die or remain crippled by Infantile Paralysis because the discoverer of the anti-polio vaccine is a Jew, Jonas Salk.
"Muslims must refuse to use Streptomycin and continue to die of Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing disease.
Muslim doctors must discard all discoveries and improvements by dermatologist Judas Sehn Benedict, or the lung specialist, Frawnkel, and of many other world renowned Jewish scientists and medical experts. "In short, good and loyal Muslims properly and fittingly should remain afflicted with Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease, Headaches, Typhus, Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio Convulsions and Tuberculosis and be proud to obey the Islamic boycott."
Oh, and by the way, don't call for a doctor on your cell phone because the cell phone was invented in Israel by a Jewish engineer.
Meanwhile I ask, what medical contributions to the world have the Muslims made?"
The Global Islamic population is approximately 1,200,000,000; that is ONE BILLION TWO HUNDRED MILLION or 20% of the world's population. Â They have received the following Nobel Prizes: Literature: 1988 - Najib Mahfooz Peace: 1978 - Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat1990 - Elias James Corey1994 - Yaser Arafat:1999 - Ahmed Zewai Economics: (zero) Physics: (zero) Medicine: 1960 - Peter Brian Medawar1998 - Ferid Mourad TOTAL: 7 SEVEN The Global Jewish population is approximately 14,000,000; that is FOURTEEN MILLION or about 0.02% of the world's population. The Jews are NOT promoting brainwashing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims. Â The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. Â There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church. Â There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing people. The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels. Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems. Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them.
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say it all: Â 'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel."
Benjamin Netanyahu: General Eisenhower warned us. It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead. Â He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.' Â
Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. Â It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. Â It is now more than 65 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets. Â This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world. How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim?

The Health Ministry has approved the expanded use of an innovative COVID-19 treatment that helped 15 out of 17 severe patients who took it to be released from the hospital one day after receiving their final dose.
The drug, MesenCure, has been tested by Rambam Medical Center as part of a Phase I/II trial. The ministry has approved allowing any interested Israeli hospital to take part in the Phase II trial and to use the drug for additional approved patients.
The goal of the expanded trial, which will include a minimum of 50 patients, is to confirm the safety and efficacy of the drug, which was developed by Bonus BioGroup.
MesenCure, which consists of activated Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) that are isolated from the adipose tissue of healthy donors, was found to reduce inflammation and alleviate respiratory and other symptoms in patients suffering from life-threatening respiratory distress brought on by COVID-19.
Back in May, the company reported on 10 COVID patients between the ages of 45 to 75, all with severe symptoms. Ninety percent of them also had comorbidities.
The data showed a 40% decrease in lung inflammation from treatment â from 55% to 15%, as seen in chest X-rays, in the first five days after treatment. One month later, lung inflammation reached 1%.
Additionally, patients showed significantly improved respiratory function, with blood oxygen saturation increasing to 95% and lung functioning returning to almost entirely normal levels after only one month.
The companyâs CEO Shai Meretzki had shared a laboratory image of a healthy lung, a sick lung and lung treated with MesenCure with The Jerusalem Post in May.
âThe treated lung looks almost identical to the normal, healthy lung â complete healing, complete prevention of damage to the lung,â Meretzki said.
Most strikingly, patients were discharged from the hospital after a median duration of only one day following the treatment.
Since then, six additional patients received MesenCure, bringing the numbers to 15 out of 17 who were released â 88%.
Bonus was founded in 2008. It has been working with MSCs for a decade from its Haifa headquarters, where it developed its core product, a tissue-engineered bone graft that is also based on MSCs.
When the coronavirus outbreak started in early 2020, Bonus started investigating the potential of MSCs to possibly reduce the cytokine storm in COVID-19 patients.
The company said that the drug could also be used to treat other, similar indications, including, lower respiratory tract infections, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which together, represent a global market expected to exceed $43 billion per year by 2026.

Smoking Increases The Risk Of Stillbirth
Smoking Increases The Risk Of Stillbirth. Expectant mothers who smoke marijuana may triple their imperil for a stillbirth, a unusual study suggests. The risk is also increased by smoking cigarettes, using other juridical and illegal drugs and being exposed to secondhand smoke. Stillbirth peril is heightened whether moms are exposed to pot alone or in combination with other substances, the study authors added read more here. They found that 94 percent of mothers who had stillborn infants hand-me-down one or more of these substances. And "Even when findings are controlled for cigarette smoking, marijuana use is associated with an increased jeopardize of stillbirth," said leading lady researcher Dr Michael Varner, associate director of women's health, obstetrics and gynecology at University of Utah School of Medicine. Stillbirth refers to fetal demise after 20 weeks of pregnancy article source. Among drugs, signs of marijuana use was most often found in umbilical rope blood from stillborn infants. So "Because marijuana use may be increasing with increased legalization, the bearing of these findings may increase as well". Indeed, this seems acceptable as the push to legalize marijuana has gained momentum breast size. Colorado and Washington country voted for legalization of marijuana and states including California, Connecticut, Maine, Nevada and Oregon are legalizing its medical use. In addition, these and other states, including New York and Ohio, are decriminalizing its use. "Both obstetric anxiety providers and the projected should be aware of the associations between both cigarette smoking, including undisclosed exposure, and recreational/illicit drug use, and stillbirth". Although the numbers were smaller for medicament narcotics, there appears to be an association between exposure to these drugs and stillbirth as well. While the study Dec 2013 found an group between use of marijuana, other drugs and tobacco by pregnant women and higher risk of stillbirth, it did not constitute a cause-and-effect relationship. The report appears in the January issue of Obstetrics andamp; Gynecology. Study older author Dr Uma Reddy, a medical officer at the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, said the aim why marijuana may rise the risk for stillbirths isn't clear. So "We don't know, but it's clear there is an increased endanger of stillbirth with marijuana. Some of it is overlapping with smoking cigarettes, and we know that cigarette use is also associated with stillbirth. The more a lady-in-waiting smokes, the higher the risk. For women, Reddy has a slow message: "Don't smoke. If you smoke, stop. You should not use marijuana during pregnancy". Dr Jill Rabin, captain of ambulatory care, obstetrics and gynecology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY, echoed Reddy's comments. "We don't want our patients, either before they become parturient or during pregnancy, to either smoke or use anything that is not medically necessary, feel favourably impressed by marijuana or even remedy drugs". For the study, Varner's team analyzed 663 stillbirths that occurred between March 2006 and September 2008. They compared these with about 1900 persevere births. For their analysis, they tested umbilical string blood and blood from mothers for a variety of illegal drugs. In addition, they asked the mothers about their tobacco and cure use, and looked for signs of tobacco use in mothers' blood samples. They found that in 94 percent of the stillbirths tested, results were propitious for an illegal drug. The most general drug found was marijuana, which was associated with a 2,8-fold increase for stillbirth. Cigarette smoking was also associated with an increased chance of stillbirth, as was being exposed to secondhand smoke, the researchers found. Yet, how vehement the association is between all these different drugs and stillbirth isn't easy to pin down, another expert commented. And "In pregnancy it's particular to determine the exact cause of things, but there is clearly some connection there," said Dr Ryan Walter, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Scott andamp; White Healthcare in College Station, Texas. Although all the affidavit isn't in, Walter also advises women not to smoke, use drugs or snifter when planning to become in the or when expecting hypertension. The same is true for secondhand smoke, he said: "It's likely best not to be around it, but if you are married to a partner who smokes or you're in a family of smokers, it's active to be difficult to manage".
