It's about Montanus, the protector of the glens and dales and everything which lives and grows there falling for a human and well a treasure xD

I rather grew fond of this movie despite disagreeing with the ending xD

I haven't heard of it.

Christmas Fairytale Vote 2019 | Round 1 - Part 2

The Vote is over. Snow-White and Red-Rose and The Cold Heart aka Heart of Stone move on to Round 2.

How it works As mentioned on my youtube channel, I want to translate a fairytale adaptation for Christmas but I cannot decide on which one because there are so many. Usually I would do one poll but youtube only allows for five options, so this will be done in rounds. In the first round, the two movies with the most votes per part will move to the next round where they will be set against the other parts winners. In round 2, a winner and a second place of different parts of round 1 compete against one another. The winner of each poll moves on to the final round where the Christmas Fairytale Movie I will translate 2019 will be decided on. Overall you will be able to choose your winner out of 15 movies.

Das Märchen vom Schlaraffenland [The Fairytale of the Cockaigne]

Paul life is determined by hunger and hard work. His sister is sick and needs medicine. When Paul goes to town with her, they meet the traveling gleeman Master Firestone. For a few Thaler, the gleeman wants to sell the directions to the Cockaigne. To get the direction Paul gives the only thing his family still has: The goat Berta. But he must recognize that he was betrayed.

Das kalte Herz [The Cold Heart aka Heart of Stone]

The poor charcoal burner Peter Munk approaches the forest spirits. He wants a better life. He is allowed to ask the little glass-imp for three wishes. But the spirit denies the third wish. In his distress, Peter approaches the dark Dutch-Michel. He demand in exchange Peter's heart for his lifelong financial support and implants him in its stead a cold stone into his chest.

Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot [Snow-White and Rose-Red]

The country is ruled by hunger. The King wants to relieve the distress. He decides to buy grain with the rest of the crown's treasure. When Prince Jakob announced these happy news on the market, he gets to know Snow-White. At the same time a dwarf, who wants the crown's treasure and to enchant the prince, sneakes over the market. Will Snow-White see her prince ever again?

Prince Gundolf promises the realm to the one of his three sons who bring him the finest carpet. The two oldest son are sure that they will win the contest easily. On the other hand, Gustav, the yongest, brings him with the help of a magical toad a truly magnificent carpet. In their arrogance, his brothers only brought cheap cloths and must admit to their defeat. But they demand another task.

Rübezahls Schatz [Rübezahl’s Treasure]

The mountain spirit of the Giant Mountains protects the nature of his home. But the love for maid Rosa as well as the gear of the new estate owner make it difficult for him. The Baroness overexploits the forests and wants Rübezahl's treasures. But he asks himself, if his love to a mortal can be fulfilled. When Rübezahl gets caught up more and more in love matters, the disaster appears to be inevitable.

The Beautiful Jette. 

Henriette Confurius (b. 5.2.1991) is a 27 years old German-Dutch actress from Berlin. Henriette´s career choice probably did not leave her parents very surprised as her Dutch mother is an actress and her German father is a writer, Gerrit Confurius. She has two brothers, Lucas and Carl. According to her Wikipedia page, she lived in Vienna for two years between 2012 and 2014 and works as a furniture restaurateur. 

I fell in love with Jette when I saw her in Tannbach. She plays strong-willed, brave women quite well. She is captivating and yet not overly dramatic which is exactly what you need for such a TV Show with so many characters. If you have not seen it, you should. Tannbach is a wonderful story about a fictional village and its people who demonstrate life in post-war Soviet Germany. 

If you want to see other films she has featured the two more-known would be:  Rübezahls Schatz (a classical fairy tale about a mountain guardian. You can watch this TV film on youtube (x). Her first big film (or international film) was Die geliebten Schwestern (The Beloved Sisters), a biopic film about Friedrich Schiller. She was also a part of Julie Delphy´s Die Gräfin (The Countess) film which makes my heart jump a little because I like Erzsbét Báthory!
