well my dear kellan, sidestep is the protagonist (that can be player customised) of the Interactive Fiction (IF) series Fallen Hero. Which can be played trough a browser on Choice of Games/ trough their app / or even on Steam. (There's a demo but the whole game is under 10 bucks)

Who is sidestep? They are a telepath who is really fucking going trough it buddy.

As the name suggests Sidestep is the Fallen Hero[tm] in question, and the first book/game is about their villain reveal, the second book is about their life as a villain. the third book is currently in (very early) development and there are plans for a 4th as well.

Sidestep is a perfect wet sack of a creature, and also one HELL of an unreliable narrator (which is fun, because well, they're also YOUR character, and they're lying to you too). You can thank the extreme repressed trauma's for that one. We get glimpses of it trough the book. A core part of step's identity is something they manage to keep hidden from the reader until about half-way trough the second book. THAT'S how much of unreliable narrator they are.

They're a HUGE BITCH (affectionate), and I love each and every sidestep.

Mystery/Thriller Monday

Kellan can’t remember an entire year of her life. She was shot. She’s also running from her husband she hopes is dead, oh, and then she finds the dead body of a woman at the off the beaten track resort where she works. She gets involved in the investigation to find out who did it, but, since she can’t remember who shot her, could that person be there, could there be a connection between the gunshot and the death?

This was an amazing suspense book. The twists and turns that Dodd throws in were awesome and definitely kept me guessing. It was an amazing read. And, part of a series!

Mirò a Kellan contrariado y luego entendió que ese pequeño detalle no lo había mencionado. —A todos los que conocía. Cuando llegue con ellos yo era un total desastre, estaba dispuesto a hacer lo que fuera con tal de hacer volver a Aiden, tú lo viste. Aquí me dedique a conocer persona tras persona para ver si podía obtener algún beneficio y también para sentirme menos solo, lograba conectar con algunas personas, las llevaba a "casa" y Galien los interrogaba o los incomodaba como ha hecho con ustedes, la diferencia era que solía leer muy rápido a las personas y saber si me traicionarían, si me lastimarían o me decepcionarían, mi sorpresa era que siempre Galien tenía razón, al momento me gustaba esa actitud de Galien hacia mi porque me sentía protegido pero, con el tiempo comenzó a cansarme y asfixiarme, así que seguí frecuentando personas y conocí a Ren, el fue el único con el que Galien no pudo y eventualmente fue quien me terminó convenciendo para alejarme de él un poco porque me hacia falta.—Explicó brevemente a Kellan, le hubiera dado detalles pero, entre el bullicio del lugar y su estado de animo no le gusto mucho. Con lo siguiente suspiro, mirando hacia donde Daeron y Tarik se abrazaban, moría de ganas de que Tarik o Daeron lo abrazaran de esa forma, la verdad lo dudaba que lo hicieran en un rato hasta que se les bajara la molesto—¿En serio crees que son celos? Me hubiera gustado que fuera de otra forma, no me gusta lastimar a Tarik o a ninguno de ustedes—Resopló sintiéndose culpable.—Es que no lo sé, si tan solo hubieras visto como se comportó, la verdad me da miedo que lo haya decepcionado. Bueno, sí tienes razón, lo de ustedes fue bastante serio—Analizó esperando que ese fuera el caso. —¿Asquerosa? ¿Así se ve desde afuera? Es que como ya estoy acostumbrado solo pienso que es molesto—Preguntó sorprendiendose por ello. Él pensaba que Galien era molestó más de lo normal pero, a lo mejor estaba normalizando algo que no era.—No me gusta que este enojado conmigo, me dio un bastonazo y ya no lo había hecho eso solo lo hacia cuando no me quería junto a Tarik—Se quejó con un sollozó.—Gracias por decirlo porque te juro que no lo hice con la intención que pareció—Nick no podría hacerles algo así a ellos. Luego miró hacia Galien, ahí tan tranquilo como si no hubiera hecho nada mientras que a Nick se le partía el corazón y sus novios pasaban un mal momento a causa de este. Más se enojó, la verdad su razón se nublo. —No, vamos, despiértalo—Replicó apretando sus puños ya moviéndose hacia donde él, en menos de 1 minuto estaba sobre el lobo. —¡Pelea, Galien!—rugió con impotencia. Entonces cayó de costado, la verdad sintió que su cabeza golpeo con algo pero, ni siquiera le tomó en cuenta porque solo de escuchar lo siguiente más se enfureció, haciéndolo lanzarse de nuevo a él para golpearlo—¡No hables de ellos! ¡quiero que te largues! ¡Esto es lo que siempre haces!—Le gritó. Entonces sus ojos cambiaron y sus colmillos salieron.

Galien se sintió extraño casi desubicado cuando abrió los ojos y el bullicio golpeó sus oídos, solo así cayó en la cuenta de dónde y que estaba haciendo pero, solo tuvo oportunidad de eso, porque lo siguiente fue ver a Nick frente a él para luego sentir como caía de la silla con un dolor punzante en el pómulo ¿se había atrevido a golpearlo? sintió el sabor de metal en su boca y lo escupió pero, luego sintió como Nick se le encimó para seguir golpeándolo. Simplemente no hizo nada, dejo que lo hiciera, eso era bueno, podría ocuparlo más adelante para reprocharselo. —No, no lo haré—Replicó intentando esquivar los golpes pero, en el suelo y con Nick sobre él le era difícil, así que solo lo empujó para quitárselo de encima, teniendo éxito.—¡Estás borracho Nicholas! Esto es lo que tus novios querían qu...—Un golpe llego y su mandíbula trono.

                            🌾 ❛❛ 🧛🏻‍♂️❤️👑—Una una u otra forma las sabrá—Daeron torció los labios, indudablemente llegaría ese día.

—No, no lo eres—Replicó firmemente porque aquello no lo definia. —Te entiendo alma mía. Esa constituye la misma razón por la que no le he sacado el corazón a ese bastardo—Bufó. —Independendiente de Thala y Trent, sería más fácil remediar las cosas con ellos que con Nicholas—Daeron definitivamente anteponía a Nick, porque de no existir vinculo alguno, mata al lobo y luego se disculparía con los más jóvenes, pero la situación era más complicada.—Irónico o no, es algo que debes dejarte sentir, Tarik, no importa cuantos siglos hayas respirado, el amor sigue siendo de la misma forma y el día que no seas capaz de sentir eso por alguien entonces nada tendrá sentido para ti, así que no intentes controlarlo todo, te lo dice alguien que le encanta el control—Roló los ojos con una sonrisa divertida, dejando un beso en los labios de Tarik, mientras lo acariciaba. —Yo también creo que me excedi un poco con Nick—Reconoció pero, ya tendrían tiempo de hablarlo bien. —Me encanta esa sonrisa—Acarició su mejilla al ver que su expresión cambiaba. Sus ojos finalmente se elevaron para mirar al sujeto en el asiento, caído. Sonrió como pudo, porque no le sorprendía de Kellan. Sin embargo, de inmediato buscó a Nick.

No se disculpó por ese leve golpe, era algo que se merecía. Tras decir todo lo que tenía que soltar, se ocupó abrazándolo porque sabía que lo necesitaba. Kellan no podría enfadarse a ese nivel con Nick. —No dudamos de nuestro amor hacia nosotros; pero parece que tú tienes miedo a que te abandonemos, especialmente Tarik. No lo hará —exclamó, porque sabía que aún seguía ahí, en su interior—. Un momento —expresó, alejándose para verlo—. ¿Cómo que "esto" es lo que Galien hace? ¿A quién más que tú conozcas se lo ha hecho? —Indagó, ahora interesado en que tal vez fuese un patrón obsesivo o algo parecido. Ahora creía, con mayor ímpetu, que Galien estaba loco y obsesionado con Nick—. Mira, no pretendo saber lo que siente un vampiro de al menos ocho siglos —inicio cuando Nick lo dejó hablar—, pero sí estoy seguro de que su enfado proviene, en parte, de los celos. No es algo que se pueda controlar, podría decir que es el único estado que es impulsivo por completo. Eso fue Tarik, pero no quiere decir que no haya "vuelta atrás", es demasiado extremo. Te ama y siempre te amará, esto no dejará una marca irrepararable o algo parecido —explicó—. Eso creí, ya sabes, cuando pelee fuertemente con Daeron, pero lo solucionamos, Tarik y tú también o harán —consoló ahora con una sonrisa—. Un novio inocente, diría yo. No creo que lo hayas hecho de mala manera, pero es momento de que abras los ojos y te des cuenta de la actitud asquerosa de Galien —arqueó una ceja—. En cuanto a Daeron, ya sabes que él puede ser duro, pero hará de todo para protegerte, así es él —encogió sus hombros—. No te dejará de amar por un error, lobito, ninguno de los 3 lo hará —besó de nuevo su mejilla—. En parte tienes razón —observó—. TBH most of the names in the original post seem, like... within the expected range of weird for "White 'Murican Guy born in the last 40 years" names. Like, I wouldn't be particularly surprised to encounter these in a context like getting put on a group project with someone in college, or having to email someone with that name at work who I'd never met.

"Remington Tate" I don't think I've heard of anyone with the first name Remington, only seen it as a surname, but apparently it is a thing. I'd be a little surprised to meet someone who actually went by that name though, it seems like one of those names where a lot of guys would go by shortened versions or by their middle names / initials. Like if I met a guy called "RJ" and I found out the R stood for Remington, or a "Remington Joseph" who everyone called "Joe" that would be less surprising than actually meeting a guy who was like "Hi, I'm Remington."

"Kellan Kyle" the only thing that feels strange about this is the alliteration. It's a gaelic given name with a scottish surname, so relatively culturally consistent.

"Connor Cobalt" Based on Googling it it sounds like the surname Cobalt exists but it's presumably very uncommon because I wasn't able to find much in the way of people who actually have that name. But I'm kinda surprised it's not more common as a surname.

"Cash Wall" okay this one would get an eyebrow raise if I met someone with that name because they're both real names but it's kind of a silly-sounding combo.

"Damien Stark" This one I get several results for if I search it on LinkedIn (although some of them are spelled "Damian"). I would not be surprised at all to randomly encounter someone with this name even if it's not a common name/surname combo.

"Travis Ford" when I google this name I get a real life college basketball coach, and also there are a ton of random guys with that name on Facebook and LinkedIn.

McHorse, though... that's a new one. Interestingly when I googled it one of the top results was this website made by one guy with the surname trying to figure out where the hell it came from. Apparently several people shared old family rumors that it started out as a different name that the guy who originated it intentionally changed to something more Texas-y sounding when he moved to Texas... mission accomplished I guess?

After harvest has a lot of work, yeah, but once the chills start coming in earnest everything is done and we can relax until the next season Or as best as we can. Once harvest is done. Well, no. I assume there's quite a bit of work to do after harvest to make sure that the bushes are pruned back and ready to go for the next season, but you know what I mean. Eventually, blueberry season ends fully. Eventually. And now you just have to be mean to yourself and get up far earlier than what you were ready for. Work on it.
