Jamikali au where everything is the same except Kalim is the one who resents Jamil slowly by slowly and Jamil is the one hopelessly devoted and completely loyal to him. I wonder how that would work

Well feel like other stuff would also have to change but to keep their personalities more aligned I’d imagine it would go like this:

(Uhh I forgot to keep most things the same but shhhh sorry)((also book 4 spoilers)((it mostly diverges from canon a lot under the cut))

Kalim is still a pretty happy guy and Jamil is still kinda a jerk but as Kalim starts to resent Jamil from holding him back from doing so many things. Jamil is hopelessly devoted to keeping Kalim safe from harm but this means he won’t let him hang out with people who seem shady without supervision and is more overprotective than before. He would be loyal to a fault and would be kinda an asshole to people who don’t get along with Kalim to the point of getting into stupid conflicts. Kalim would find this more and more annoying and would want more freedom and to just live his life.

He draws the line after Jamil almost(?) overblots (Jamil tries to take over as house warden, thinking it’s for Kalim’s own good) Jamil is loyal to Kalim to the point he thinks it’s them against the world and wants them to break free from the adults and the rest of the school kinda. Kalim learns about the mind controlling and lying and how he almost hurt everyone and just loses it. He just breaks down crying and screaming that he loves Jamil but starts to explain how he resents him all the same. He can’t take it anymore and either 1. Tries to leave the school or 2. Removes Jamil as vice

Kalim would still partially blame himself and Jamil would get mad at Kalim but they would still hold devotion and resent. Jamil would try to argue with Kalim that he needs to stay by his side but Kalim would argue that staying with him has only hurt both of them. In the end I think Kalim would overblot lol after trying to leave NRC or trying to run the dorm alone.

However in the end, they both come to an understanding. Jamil finally shoves aside his pride and emotional walls and for the first time ever apologizes. Kalim listens and instantly forgives him but then does state that he was still hurt by what happened but also says he’s sorry too. Kalim asks again to be friends and start over but instead Jamil lowkey asks him out and they decide to start a weird more than friendship. Jamil starts to let Kalim and himself become equals and starts to express more of his affection in public.

And then Quinn ends this post bc this got cheesy and long and why did this become a who,e thing sroryuyfndncjdjd(also sorry anon if this wasn’t what u wanted I just kinda went off the rails))

However! I've been extremely unmotivated in writing for twst as of late, thus the little posts.

Hello! It's a-me! The unhinged Langley simp but this time I'm thinking about 99 and her muscles. She's a buff woman that honestly no one could rival with (other than Zoya); which makes me melt when I think of 99 x Hella. I too, want an Absolute Unit™ of a murderous destruction to be so... soft towards me. Thinking of sharp, crazed eyes turning gentle whenever they land on her sun. Big, sharp claws running through her sun's hair before placing kiss on its ends (a worshipful gesture that she sometimes does unconsciously. Any sinner is retching at them lol). Her Mania skyrocketing only to drop down when she hears Hella's voice beacuse, beacuse no matter what she will always recognise her!!! No matter how deep she is ending in her mind!!!!!!! About how she's ready to kill, to die for her. Just to make sure her sun is as free as she can be in a world that wants them to be chained down.

I love how 99 looked at this gremlin, barely at her titties level, and really went "I would kill for her. I would die for her. Ethier way, what bliss."

Just... Ninety-nine going so very soft on Hella who actually quietens down whenever she gets affection from big buff lady.

I'm also thinking about loud, barsh, sharp around the edges Hella who loves to be embraced by 99 and never letting go no matter how sometimes the touch is hurtful (but she will heal and 99 DOESN'T need to know, mind your own business, fucker). About her just hanging on her forever-ride just to feel her close (and is so, so, so afraid to let go). And how she always thinks about her whenever she gets or demands something good (because I like to think that, just like 99, she associates everything good, be it snacks or toys or anything really, with big ball of rage that is soooo beloved). I'm thinking of her bending her back till it snaps just to make sure 99 is safe and sane beacuse there's nothing more loving than act of keeping someone so precious to oneself alive no matter what fate throws their way.

Just pure love between two broken people who makes world feel a little less broken.

I'm thinking! I'm aching! My heart bleeds and goes out for the broken and unloved finding solace in each other!!!

A Brief Stay

(Hella/Ninety-Nine)

“Hella?”

     The last moments before unconsciousness took her were filled with cacophonous cries, the smattering of blood, and the searing pain that wove into the very fabric of her being. It was not an uncommon feeling, to be overwhelmed with anger and mourning, but it hurt just the same every time. 

     Missions go awry all the time, yet Ninety-Nine never cared unless it was her at risk. The sunlight she couldn’t bear to lose.

     When Ninety-Nine’s eyes drew open, the environment she was in was far different than all of the ones she had seen before.

     It was sterile, there were no masked men and women prodding at her, waiting for her body to turn. It smelled pleasant, with no lingering iron baked into the sheets of her bed or the walls of the room. It lacked the chains For as much as she could see, she was safe. 

     But safety only meant so much when she was alone.

     A dark-haired woman entered the room, hand in pocket. “You’re awake.”

     Ninety-Nine didn’t even bother responding, sitting up and ready to pounce when the doctor’s gaze redirected itself to the former lab rat’s side. 

     Glancing down and following the doctor’s gaze, Ninety-Nine found none other than Hella, curled up against her side and clinging to her gown, sound asleep. Her shoulders immediately dropped, and she returned to laying down, choosing instead to wrap her arms around Hella and hug her close.

     “You’re lucky the Chief was lenient,” the doctor sighed. “...And that she recovers quickly.”

     Marking a couple of things down on Ninety-Nine’s chart and giving her one last glance-over, the doctor left the room, letting Ninety-Nine have her privacy.

     With a yawn, Hella buried her face into the crook of Ninety-Nine’s neck, whispering, “Don’t do that again.”

     “You were hurt,”

     Hella pulled back to grimace, staring up at Ninety-Nine with a face nothing short of pure disappointment. Despite the woman being significantly shorter and wielding a pipe in comparison to a large sword, Hella was often the one to chastise Ninety-Nine, who gave way to her every time.

     “I can heal myself.” Hella deadpanned.

     Ninety-Nine opened her mouth, shut it, then tugged Hella into another hug. “...Okay.”

     Though the exchange had its tense moment, it quickly passed, and the two were back to their usual routine and nigh-inseparable. A comfortable silence took them as they searched for something to occupy their time, settling on a magazine about the latest and greatest to come out of DisCity.

     Not that either of them cared all too much about DisCity - the only thing they could be bothered to care about was each other.

     “You two should get- “ the doctor paused in the threshold of Ninety-Nine’s room when she spotted the two curled up, reading said magazine. “I’ll have Anne bring over your meals.”

     Hella peaked over the magazine with a smug grin, then returned to reading. Ninety-Nine didn’t notice the brief exchange of glares the two shared, too immersed at a nice jacket and dress. The kind that she’d figure Hella would wear if she wasn’t caught up with Sinners and MBCC and the lifeblood of DisCity.

     At the side of her face, Hella spat out, “Who the fuck would wear that?”

     “I think it would look nice on you.” Ninety-Nine commented.

     “I like my beanie, thank you.”

     The former lab rat didn’t even notice there was a beanie in the magazine to begin with.

     Ninety-Nine angled her head to get a better look at it, then the one atop Hella’s head. To say it was well-worn was an understatement, but it carried the same charm that Hella often did. She shrugged, kissing Hella on the temple, and looked back at the magazine.

     Hella rolled her eyes, flipping to another page.

Since Kalim and Jamil went to different schools, do you ever think about how excited Kalim would have gotten to go to NRC the same college as Jamil?

Oh absolutely Kalim was kicking his feet and twirling his hair when he found out like he was jumping up and down and stimming his hands. During middle school I imagine Kalim would sometimes just stare at the door or out the windows or thru cameras just waiting until Jamil would come back. Each time he came back he would run into Jamil and hug him tightly because yay he’s home it’s been years!(he literally saw him that morning). Them being in the same dorm was even better because yay sleepovers and totally platonic cuddling(lies). Honestly Kalim was probably wishing so hard to go to the same school as him so he thought the universe was blessing him when the news came(shhh don’t tell him his dad paid for it) Also when Jamil first left he probably didn’t contact Kalim so Kalim was waiting like a wife during a war for her husband to come home. Kalim used to see Jamil everyday and now Jamil was in a different country far away and no other servants can be him bc it’s him ya know. Jamil deficiency is a serious condition :’(

i love them so much because it's like pairing a tiny, angry gremlin, with a tall, equally angry (but she keeps it under wraps) woman.

i'm definitely gonna look into writing drabbles for them in the future, and hopefully when i get more compliance/interrogation for 99 i can get a good grasp on their dynamic

this is really random but sometimes I wonder how it would be if ruggie was Kalims retainer instead of Jamil? Again sorry for this ಥ_ಥ

Ummm well my friend said it would remove a lot of Ruggie’s story if he had been Kalim’s retainer his entire life so for the sake of this ask let’s say he became Kalim’s retainer in high school. Honestly since Ruggie is more lenient towards Kalim they would definitely have more feasts. I think he’d let Kalim cook and do stuff Jamil would not allow. Anytime Kalim made a mess Ruggie needs to clean up I feel like he’d be torn. He stated that he thinks serving Kalim would be harder since Kalim is nice so he probably wouldn’t be able to resent him like Jamil does. Honestly I think Kalim would become more responsible in the long run especially since Ruggie doesn’t need to hold back on grades or anything.Also Kalim would literally give Ruggie everything he wants so he probably doesn’t steal from him. Ultimately they would work very well as a retainer and leader pair. The only downside would be is that I think it would be hard for Ruggie to be completely honest with Kalim because he probably would feel a bit guilty.

Alternatively they kiss.

Kalim as spiderman???

Omg yes he’d be so good at it! Bro is swinging around fighting crime and missing a lot of important social gatherings unfortunately. I feel like since he loves making others happy he’d be a good superhero. I imagine that he would tell Jamil about being Spider-Man possibly unless this is like after Jamil told him he hated his guts. If it was before than he’d tell Jamil and Jamil would become sorta a guy in the chair lecturing Kalim about balancing duties and informing him about crimes that happen. If it’s after I don’t think Kalim would tell him for awhile because he wouldn’t want to involve and endanger Jamil.

Kalim has been the one protected from villains all his life so I think he would enjoy finally being able to take action and protect everyone the way they protected him. However I think Jamil would yell a Kalim for being absent constantly if he didn’t know he was Spider-Man and it would further complicate their relationship. I feel like Kalim would focus more on being a hero than taking care of himself and would need to really learn how to balance it.

Overall I think he could do it but I think it would not be without some tears along the way. Also he’s definitely making a super flashy suit with a lot of shiny bits. I also think he’s one of the spider people with either natural webs or something else bc I don’t think he has the science knowledge to build web shooters lol

I usually use Sun and Moon because Kalim is my sunshine and Jamil lives as a shadow but also Jamil is blinding light and Kalim is a soft comfort

The moon and sea I hear about less but I think in that one Kalim is the moon moving the soft waves of the sea and being there to light it. Jamil is the sea, deep and scary and angry but calming and elegant at the right time. However Kalim is spontaneous like the sea and full of emotion and life and Jamil is more of a guiding force like the moon.

I usually use sun and moon but moon and sea is so cute lol

Aww thanks, honestly I mostly ship Malleus with Leona or Idia. I’ve never really seen KaliMal so I don’t have much of an opinion on it sorry.

I mostly see them platonically as stupid little friends. They are constantly thinking on the same page in vastly different books. I think it’s nice that Kalim wants nothing more than to make everyone happy and mostly does so through parties and Malleus enjoys being invited to things like parties more than anything. I think they could spend hours exploring and talking. Kalim probably would be interested in learning about Malleus own interests. He will visit the gargoyle watching club to support him. Yeah they are besties on besties however they disappear together making it hard for Sebek/Silver and Jamil to track them down. Also Jamil is afraid to leave them alone because he’s afraid of Kalim and Malleus getting into a fight and causing an international incident lol
