Hey everyone, I know a lot of you have been DMing me lately to post about the coronavirus pandemic; I am a doctor day job-wise and I've had to set aside the music and basically everything else for a while now that COVID-19 is ravaging through the US and the rest of the world. Many of you have also had questions with lots of requests for me to upload videos to hrlp answer.. I just wanted to let you know with this post that I will be following up and providing as much information as I can in an independent commenting capacity; as you can imagine things are pretty hectic right now (I myself have been looking into adapting a piece of drug-repurposing discovery software that I created for a very different disease class) but I'll do my best to reach out and inform as best I can in subsequent postings.  First and foremost, please, please take this thing seriously. The vast majority of those who contract SARS-CoV-2 do survive it without need for hospitalization, but it's extraordinarily contagious and harmful to a large enough percentage of patients that it would overwhelm our hospitals if it becomes too widespread; we simply don't have enough hospital beds let alone trained physicians and nurses to cover everyone if it goes unchecked. So social distancing, as inconvenient as it may be, really is essential right now, and this thing can be quite dangerous even to those outside the high-risk groups (including to children). Just know that there are a lot of excellent people around the world working to overcome this thing, and countries and regions like South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Singapore have shown that COVID-19 can be brought under control, even during this nerve-wracking period before we have an effective treatment or vaccine.  I'll be back with more soon.
