Thanks for sharing these awesome intros everyone! I’ve really enjoyed reading  them and I look forward to share the classroom with you all over the next ~3 months. Some fun/interesting facts about the prof: I was born/raised in Germany and came to the U.S. for grad school. Since then, I’ve lived in various parts of the country including Portland, ME; Charleston, SC; Minneapolis, and now Denver. I’m an avid skier, so it wasn’t too difficult to sell me on this place. You are quite likely to catch me at Abasin on a good powder day. Generally, being outdoors, doing a hike/camping in the mountains with no cell/Internet reception is my preferred method of relaxation (My partner always jokes that all that’s missing from me fulfilling the the ultimate queer/lesbian outdoor stereotype is driving a Subaru. Hell. no.) Some highlights from this summer were definitely a road-trip through Southern CO, UT, WY and seeing Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer tour live. I am also a dog person and we just adopted a second rescue in May. Zadie is a little Dachsen-mix, super cute, crazy chewer and mostly annoys the shit out of my older dog, Lando. 

I’m pretty lucky that I get to teach two of my favorite classes this semester: QMS and Sports COMM. Both are topics that I care about a lot - on a personal and professional/research/academic level. I’ve published quite extensively in those areas and my book project on trans visibility will be out next year.  I’m excited to delve into various areas of queer media studies with you all and learn more with/about you.
