I do need everyone to know an exchange I had with a coworker yesterday where one of our shuttle drivers mentioned his partner ( he has a wife but he uses gender neutral terms for her as well , I am unsure of any queer status there but even if not it's nice ) and so after he left she came running to me because she's "only ever heard gay people use that" and for half a second I was worried I was about to learn some homophobic things but when I clarified he has a wife she was like "oh I thought he was gay I was really excited :(" so I followed up with "I use partner for my boyfriend occasionally and I'm queer" ( because I'm vaguely out at work ) and she said "girl me too"
