Backstory
Lilavati left her extremely controlling family after leaving for college to major in Economics, where she met Adrian Raines, and the two became close friends (she was already dating Lyra's father and unknowingly pregnant). As far as her family knows, she's a Board Member/Head of Business for Raines Corporation. In actuality, she's a witch who eventually started working as a kind of supernatural diplomat to ensure peace between supernatural beings, which ended up being for the NYC vampire clans. She's under the vampire clans' protection (but she associates most with Adrian since they're the closest). She was extremely happy for Adrian when he met Evie and fell deeply in love with her. After Lyra is born, she asks Adrian and Evie to be her godparents. In my head, Evie shows up at some point during Nightbound in the Priya Lacroix scene and mentions how much Lyra reminded her of her mother (it took Lyra a second to recognize who Evie was because it's been a while but she knew Evie was a familiar figure). Antonio blames Adrian and Evie (and the rest of the BB crew) for his wife's death and ensures they stay away from his daughter by moving to a smaller home in LA.
Fun Facts:
She's a very talented Carnatic singer! Her extended family wanted her to continue but as much as she loves to sing, she didn’t want to pursue it as part of her future
She is fluent in English and Spanish but proficient in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Dravokian. She learned Spanish from her father and Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil from her mother. Her parents spoke those languages at home alongside English, but she became less fluent in the languages her mother spoke after she died. And after marrying Trystan, she obviously learned Drakovian
She’s from a wealthy family, or technically her mother was, but she left her old life to have her freedom before Lyra’s older cousins were even born. Lyra herself has an even larger inheritance after her mother died, but her father didn’t feel comfortable using her family money “irresponsibly.” She plans to use that money for her education.

There isn’t a single fae with a loving origin story. If there is one, they are certainly not spoken about in the texts that were the backbone of her childhood in the Otherlands. Her only companions were her mothers who often bustled her from one place to the next in her youth before they settled into the library at the heart of a village nestled between two kingdoms, working as a librarian and a seamstress. Lilavati learned how to read and write at a fairly young age and before long could navigate the library with a blindfold over her eyes, knowing more of the hall of books than she did her own bedroom. Rarely did she venture away, warned as she was by her mothers to stay close thanks to residual fear of the aftermath of a war that had chased them from their home before her birth. Before long, visitors and refugees alike graced their home, seeking sanctuary in the safety of the library, protected by her mothers and the distance from any palace. These new faces became as much her family as the books seemed to be, and she made it her duty to protect them in the only way she could. It meant organizing deals with neighboring villages and garnering the alliances necessary to keep them safe. The warring kingdoms on either side of her village mattered little to her. What did she care what they would do with the kingdom if they won it? At least until the fighting spilled into the halls of her beloved library. A person can clean bloodshed off the tiled floors and scrub it from their skin when it splatters upon them, but the fire sprouting among the books drove her and her mothers from their home. Lily watched for a long while as the only home she ever knew burned, as the people who had become friends wailed in the streets at the loss. She decided at that moment that she would never sit on the sidelines when something could be done.
To her mothers’ chagrin, Lily didn’t linger for long among the ruins of their small town as so many others did. The embers had been ignited in her and she refused to sit around waiting for two fae mad with power to decide her fate. Before long, she had shed the persona of the girl in the library with fickle alliances, flinging herself into the politics of the kingdom she was raised in, turning her voice into whatever weapon it could be if it meant the fighting would halt. Never once did she think the fear of her mothers was anything beyond maternal instincts. She was due to a meeting with the queen who ruled this corner when her mothers finally confessed: Lily was not, in fact, the product of her mother’s first marriage. She was not their daughter at all. Her mother was a queen, one who had failed so terribly in her people’s eyes that they referred to her as nothing more than the Coward Queen, whose names had been stripped from near any book that Lily sought for answers. It was her wish that Lily remain away from the spotlight, that she might find some peace in the kingdom without the burden of royalty hanging over her head. Her meeting might have fallen through at this revelation and the fire in her may have faltered thanks to fear, but Lily did not stay down for long. Instead, she flung herself into searching for answers. If her mother was dead, someone would know about it. Infamous queens did not die without a trace, or so she assumed. Determined to learn, she pored over book after book, chasing down near impossible leads, but these searches were far from worthwhile. Wherever her birth mother went, Lily found no trace of her, only a faded portrait that the women who raised her pressed into her palms. She decided then that she would not stop looking, but she would also not stop living.
It wasn’t easy to pull strings from the shadows. Lily wasn’t the type of woman to act like a puppeteer. Though she cared little for her own safety, she did value the family who cared for her, who kept her alive when it might have been easier to leave her to the wolves. But the centuries were long and fruitless. Over time, her family dwindled, person by person, lost among the brutality of the Otherlands. With her time running short and the people worth sticking around for becoming less and less, she sought a way out of the kingdom and a place for her last remaining relative. It was then that a guard returned from the human realm, spinning stories of the place he had left. The glimpses of fae that Marek had mentioned seeing were the catalyst for Lilavati’s decision to abandon the Otherlands altogether. She visited him in the dungeons periodically, gathering information, though in time he had become a friend Lily had sorely missed. When his time came to leave, free from his burdens, Lily did not hesitate to follow him. Together, they arrived in the small town of Lethe in June 2020. At first, she regarded the town with skepticism. After all, it was difficult to believe a town this chaotic surviving for two centuries in a world that other fae had described as mad, though it wasn’t long before she came to regard it as charming. Newer than the Otherlands but so old compared to what she imagined. While at first she lived off the jewels of her arrival, and then off the pay for working as an assistant to Javier Morales, it wasn’t long after the councilman stepped down from his role that Lily stepped in. Her time as councilwoman seems to be only temporary. Still, Lily will prove herself worthy of this job and of Lethe, and perhaps, before long, she will prove herself worthy of finding the birth mother who just so happens to be closer than she appears.

Prahlad drama
Prahlad drama
A folk drama based in Ganjam district
Rahlad Natak or Prahallad Natak (also known as Raja Nat, Raja Natak) [1] is a traditional play performed in Ganjam district. It contains both classical and secular parts. In this play, Narasimha's story is conveyed through songwriting. Its main text is named after King Ramakrishna Chhotarai. Although the lyrics of Prahlad's play are based on the name of Ramakrishna, it has been accepted by researchers to be the poet Gaurahari Parichha. Later, other kings of Ganjam, such as Surangi Raja Kishore Chandra Harichandan Jagaddev Rai, Tarla Raja Ramchandra Shurdeo, Dharakot Raja Madan Mohan Singhdev and Padmanabh Narayan Dev of Paralakhemundi, wrote Prahladnatak.
The play features twenty male characters and five female characters. One of them, a character named Gahak, enters the stage and explains the event. This character is consistent with the formula found in Sanskrit and Greek dramas. Among the characters are Prahlad, Hiranyakashipu, Lilavati, Shukracharya, Mantri, Gahak, Chandmark, Ganesha, Saraswati, Brahma, Indra, Dwari, Charagan, Asuragan, Balakan, Narad, Gajakarna, Sapua, Mahuntas, etc.
Presentation--
Stage
It is well known for its special stage productions used in Prahlad's play. No theater is required for acting. The play is usually performed on the outskirts of the village or in an open area. A staircase with a staircase in front is installed. It has about 4 steps. In rural languages, the stage with this step is called the stage. The floor in front of the stage is used for dancing and acting. It is said that the seven saints of Hiranyakashipur are represented by the seven steps of the Adhipatya Manchar. The stage is mainly thought of as the court of Hiranyakashipur. The pottery minister, the queen, etc., sit on the top of the stage on either side of Hiranyakashipur. Musicians and drummers sit on either side of the stage.
Musical instrument--
The main instrument in Prahlad's play is the harp. It is a kind of air-conditioned musical instrument. The introductory song gives an early start to the song. At the same time, harmonies, guinea pigs, and harmonies are used today. There are usually two percussionists and some guinea and jazz musicians. The lead singer performs most of the songs, playing the harmonium, and the pianists assist him in the singing.
Music-- Many of the songs are composed in the Prahlad play written by King Ramakrishna Chhotarai. The rhythm and rhythm of each song are directed. The music method is entirely scriptural based on Utkaliya or Odissi music. Not all of Prahlad's plays are in the folk music category. The best proof of the classicality of Odissi music is the song of this Prahlad play. The ragas used are - Bhairavi, Sri, Kalyani, Saberi, Khamach, Jhinjoti, Anandbhairavi, Purikalyani, Marua, Shankaravaran, Nadaramakriya, Sehana, Nata, Pantavaradi, Todi, Ghantarab, Kamodi, Sroha, Arupu, Sreepha, Sreepta, Regu, Yamunakalyani, Kedargauda, Desi Khamach, Mukhari, Desh, Nabaroj, Todi Punnag etc. The ropes used were - eight, one, etc. and figurines. Many of these rages and rhythms are not available in other forms than Odissi music.
Dance-- Prahlad's dance demeanor is mainly violent. Lasya dance is short. The dance back and forth on the Hiranyakashipur stage is especially popular. Prahlad also dances in the play with a quick footsteps, showing a cycle of zeroes. Prahladnatak's eminent researcher Vishwabihari Khadanga divides the violent dance into six parts and shows that it is mentioned in various plays. Folk dance styles such as Chandmark and Shabar Shabaruni are also part of it. Artist-- One of the oldest gurus is the Durga Das dynasty of Ichchapuram. He is followed by Laxman Shatapathi, Bankini Shatapathi, Raghunath Shatapathi, Trinath Pradhan, Ganga Dora, Simanchal Patra, Kalia Kamp, Krishna Kansari and Ram Badatya. Khali Behera and Simanchal Patra are known for their role in Hiranyakashipu. In the next generation, Vrindavan Jena, Rajendra Patra, Gokulananda Pradhan, Santosh Rana and others are famous. In Ganjam's Kukudakhandi, Kulad, Kabisuryanagar, Bhanjanagar, Padmanabhapur and other areas, there are still about 40 Rajanatak teams or capital.
Change-- During the performance of Prahlad's play, Nrsingh's body is worshiped with a venerated face, while Nrsingh's body is sometimes blackened. When it comes down to it, the actor's body radiates incredible energy, and it takes between ten and twenty people to maintain it. Failure to do so, he becomes an angry destroyer like Narsingh. It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to the complainant. Iron or brass nails are no longer used in Prahlad's play since the incident. Previously, most of Prahlad's sixteen sentences were actually held. Prahlad's character was adept at all these arts and performed them. Snake bites, for example, were used to poison real snakes. In modern times that practice has been discontinued.

The westerners have brought gifts and tribute, and even a princess; and it's just Taban's luck, that she should be assigned to serve that princess as a bodyguard until the terms are all agreed and she may be delivered safely to the khatun. Taban's given her oath, and it's inconceivable that she would break it—it doesn't matter whether she likes this princess or not. Westerners are soft and useless, everyone knows it, and the princess will marry the khatun and stop being Taban's problem.
(Except that isn't exactly what happens.)
To Catch A Countess
Original Work, Regency Debutante/Regency Debutante
Without striking beauty or an aristocratic bloodline, Miss Prudence Copeland is hardly the talk of London, but her substantial dowry means her debut Season will likely be her last.
Lady Charlotte, Countess of Ashbridge, is just fine with that outcome--as long as the suitor Prudence agrees to wed is her.
