Black and White Modern Farmhouse

This large-scale renovation and addition transformed the modest home into a larger modern farmhouse with a classic black and white palette. The interior has been completed with all new finishes, custom cabinetry, and reclaimed barnwood accents throughout the first floor & second floor.

Edward Deegan Architects (previously featured here & here) worked closely on the project with this client. The clients weren’t afraid to use bold wallpaper or a funky light fixture. The interior designer repurposed many of their existing furniture pieces and accessories and the client’s eclectic taste helped bring color and life to the overall palette. Building and remodeling a home takes trust and believing in the team you’ve hired to create something you will love.

Craftsman Style Bathroom – Warm And Welcoming

The use of natural colors, wood trim and traditional-looking fixtures gives this new bathroom an honest period feel.

Traditional, intimate designs make a Craftsman home appealing and that includes a Craftsman style bathroom. Waukesha WI and the surrounding area is dotted with these rustic styles. And, they are favorite targets for remodeling to bring them back to their period attraction.

Oiled bronze – provides a unique, dark and rich appearance. A durable metal it is among the most expensive choices.

Copper – copper fixtures are unique and make a statement. However they require more maintenance than some other choices. Left untouched they will develop a natural green patina as they age – for some an attraction, for others this looks like corrosion.

Custom finishes – there are fixture choices ranging from a matte black finish to pure white. Combination of metal fixtures with colored handles – the old-school farmhouse faucet for example – fit the style nicely.

Beautiful Homes of Instagram If you’ve read Home Bunch for some time you might recognize Hollie from @artfulhomestead. I first featured Hollie’s main home on “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” in 2016 and she has been featured many other times on Home Bunch after that, but today she comes back not to feature her main home, but instead her dreamy vacation home. The entire home features work from artists from all over the world, including laser-cut metal art inlaid in the gallery hallway.

Featuring a transitional style, this dining room is certainly impressive without compromising on comfort.

“Our clients in Western Springs were looking to expand their new home by doing a whole home remodel. This cute, little ranch was transformed into a beautiful bungalow. Formal living room welcomes you from the front door, which leads into the expansive, open kitchen with seating, and the formal dining and family room off to the back. Four bedrooms top off the second floor with vaulted ceilings in the master.”

Home Renovation

Hello everyone! How are you doing today? I hope you enjoy this beautiful home renovation done by Molly Griggs Interiors and with photography by Marina Storm of Picture Perfect House (also featured here). This is a two-story colonial home that belongs to a young family of four. They purchased their home and it was gutted to the studs to make it more open and functional for their family.

In my opinion, this home feels trendy without being over-the-top. I am sorry, but please correct if I am the only person thinking that people are overdoing when it comes to trends lately. There’s too much of the same and very little authenticity out there. Every house looks the same and everyone seems to be using the same “formula”. I have been working hard to find spaces that have a “soul” and I hope you enjoy seeing how beautifully renovated and decorated this home was. Nothing feels overdone and you can picture people actually living in these rooms. After all, that’s why we spend time and money with our home; to comfortably live in it.

Interior Design Ideas: Home Renovation

White kitchens will always be a classic choice, add neutral walls and dark-stained hardwood flooring to the mix and you certainly will end-up with a space that will stand the test of time. I feel that you can and should have fun with accessories, such as decor, lighting and even with certain pieces of furniture, but try to keep the main elements classic, especially if this is not your forever home. Classic and neutral sells.

This kitchen features a fantastic layout and plenty of natural light, which is so important.

This has to be one of my favorite powder baths I have shared lately. This space features classic wainscoting, blue and white floral wallpaper, acrylic bathroom basin and a dramatic dark hardwood flooring.

Beach House Interior Design ideas

Beautifully designed by the host of HGTV Dream Home 2018, Marnie Oursler of Marnie Custom Homes, this beach house features plenty of coastal interior design ideas.

The 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath beach home is located just blocks from the ocean in Bethany Beach, DE with a sophisticated beach vibe. A calm, neutral palette reminiscent of refreshing salt air mixes with a variety of textures, wood tones, and rough stone, making this the perfect summer getaway.

This coastal home features many unique design elements by Marnie Oursler, including custom built-ins and molding throughout, reclaimed wood accents, hanging beds, exposed beams and French doors leading to a private balcony.

The custom designed kitchen is truly the heart of this home boasting white maple cabinetry, gorgeous white quartzite countertops and adding a touch of glam with a white pearl mosaic backsplash. White Oak floors throughout offer a feeling of casual beach elegance.

Outside the home, the entrance welcomes guests with a front porch and an extra wide blue custom front door, a signature of Marnie Custom Homes.
