i’ve been pretty busy so i don’t have a lot of time to draw as much as i want to right now but i wanted to doodle a little something of @bunnymajo‘s quake bc i think out of all the ocs in @sonic-oc-showdown she might be my favourite

Quake's skin patches are meant to be up to interpretation, whether it be patchy dry skin from being around a lot of dirt and rubble or if its vitiligo. I want her to give that visibility & confidence to anyone who needs it who might have a similar condition. She's not the type to let her appearance slow her down or hinder what she wants to accomplish. The markings are mostly around her face but they're present all over her body.

When I decided to make her pink, I wanted something else to make her stand out since it's a pretty common color for elephant characters I think(?). I'm glad I did, I think it gives her design an extra charm. I've read comments saying they look like flowers and I think that's lovely.

Elephant jaune in the ever after as the rusted Giant

Tell me, child; have you heard the tale of the Rusted Giant? He is a mighty and powerful being who roams the valleys and mountains and woods. Within his mighty, armored chest beats a kind and tender heart, and he defends those who cannot defend themselves without preference. But there is sadness to his tale. His armor is too small and rusted for him to remove, and every step draws a groan from his helmet. Also, despite the company of his jackalope companion, Juniper, he is still very alone, as there is no other like him in this world. Perhaps one day, the Rusted Giant will find someone just like him...

"Jaune?" Ruby stared in awe as the giant man towered over the huntresses. He dropped his helmet with a thundering crash and began stampeding towards Team RWBY. The earth below them quaked until he crashed before them, wrapping his massive arms around them.

"YOU MADE IT..." Jaune boomed. "YOU FINALLY MADE IT..."

"What happened on the bridge?" Yang asked.

"Since when were the Rusted Giant?!" Blake asked, grunting as she tried to pull away from the crushing embrace. "And when did you get so..."

"Big~?" Weiss crooned, running her hand along the literal wall of muscle not already protected by his armor. Her team gave her a look, each with a mixture of emotions in their reaction, only returning to their previous moods once Weiss had managed to slip away with a reddened face and a clear throat.

"What... happened to you?" Ruby asked as her friend slipped away from the embrace. His eyes were as blue as they were when they first met, though with significantly less light and joy within.

"IT'S A LONG STORY..." His deep voiced rumbled, wracked with pain of being left alone for... so long...

Quake is a wanderer, so if she’s not camping on her own she’s staying the night at an acquaintance’s or an inn.

After the initial conflict that led to her friendship with Blaze she has her own guest room at the palace. But she rarely stays there and it’s mostly for storage.

If she lived in Sonic’s world where there’s more technological advances she would be the type to travel in a big van or some other kind of mobile home

The Elephant in The Room

Kite x Reader

Synopsis: Following Kite around like a lost puppy was annoying for him but fun for you. You didn't think he cared for you, but you also didn't see the elephant in the room.

He sat quietly by the fire, watching you scarf down the food before you. "It's not going anywhere" Kite muttered, causing you to look at him with wide eyes. He sighed before nodding his head at your food, urging you to continue eating. Once again, he was missing a meal. Not because he wasn't hungry, but because you were.

"Are you sure you don't want any? I can split this-"

"No no. It's fine." Kite trailed off as he took in your shivering form. You always seemed to get hungry and cold a lot easier than he did, and it was annoying, to say the least. But it wasn't as annoying as how he felt.

You resumed eating and didn't pay any mind to how he was looking at you. "You're shivering" He muttered under his breath. You lifted your eyes to look at him as he scooted over to your side. His body heat and the fire helped calm your violent quaking, but you still felt incredibly cold.

"I'll be okay" you whispered, suddenly losing your appetite as your stomach flipped. He was so close... His entire being was somehow engulfing you, his body heat, his scent, his breathing. All you felt was him. "Are you not hungry?" He questioned down at you as he leaned closer to get a look at your leftovers. You nodded before handing him the food, "Ya... Go ahead and finish it. I need to go for a walk."

Kite opened his mouth to object, but you moved quicker than the words coming from his mouth. He sighed looking down at the food, confused as to why he lost his appetite as well. His stomach felt like it was in his throat... He didn't know why but you always made him feel this way.

Sick.

After a couple of minutes, Kite had enough and shot up from his seat, storming towards the forest to go find you.

You dug the toe of your boot into the frozen dirt. You thought getting away from Kite would help, but all you had been thinking about was him. Everything about him was so intoxicating, and while you were head over heels for him, he didn't feel the same way. He even said so himself.

"You can follow me, sure... But don't expect me to like you back."

It was cruel, you knew that and should have stopped following him the second those words left his mouth. But you didn't and now you were somehow dependent on him.

Dependent on a man that didn't care about you.

"I need to leave him. This is ridiculous" you muttered out into the night, but the words fell on your deaf ears. Not even the dead trees believed you. A sigh flew from your lips, hands clapping to your face to somehow rub him away from you and your thoughts. "I fucking hate him. I hate that I love him" your groan made Kite freeze in his tracks.

He had finally found you in the thick forest but he didn't expect to stumble upon this. Hiding behind the tree, he leveled out his breathing as he listened carefully. You didn't say anything else, but the soft cries hitting his ears broke his heart. Had he done this to you? Broken you to the point where you hated him?

He hated himself for doing such a thing to you. At first, you were annoying sure, but he quickly grew fond of your annoying traits. He just didn't realize it until just now - and he feared that it might be too late.

"Kite"

He jumped out of his skin as you appeared beside him, your bloodshot eyes causing his heart to stop all together. All he wanted to do was give in and pull you into him, comfort you and promise to never hurt you again. But he didn't.

He didn't do anything, and that's what hurt you the most.

You sniffled before turning on your heel to head back to the camp, you had to leave, you were losing yourself. "Wait. Wait Y/n" his voice was calm at first but turned frantic as you ignored him. He tried to keep up with you but you were determined to get away. "Y/n, wait I'm sorry" his hand finally wrapped around your wrist, stopping you from moving any further. You ignored the way your body shivered from the cold and buzzed from the adrenaline, all you felt was pain. Closing your eyes, you took in a deep and shaky breath. Why was it all so numb. It felt as if every nerve in your body was frozen, but then, something happened.

His arms wrapped around you, pulling your back to his chest as he surrounded you in him and only him. The warmth of his body alleviated the cold while the action alone woke up your nervous system. The broken sob flying from your lips made him grip you tighter before turning you around to be fully in his embrace. "I'm so sorry" he whispered out shakily, hand coming up to comb through your hair while the other traced a finger up and down your spine. You continued to cry, but you weren't sure if it was from relief or sadness. Maybe it was both. All you knew though was that leaving Kite was easier said than done. Because you loved him.

"Please Y/n, don't leave me"

And he loved you too.

Gus giggles as you flash a bright light in their eyes, bursting into a full on fit as they speak. "That tickles, Sugarcube. Look at you, making a clown laugh, how funny is that? Sigh I knew you were the one for me."

"Can it 'clown'." You remove your hands from the table lamp to slam them on the smooth surface, Gus trying to keep his snickers to a minimum. This thing.. You don't know what it is, but it definitely isn't human. They don't even deny your claims, going on and one about how they were simply - clown.

Your suspicions derived from the fact their makeup never smudged. They never took it nor their costume off. Something you expected them to by now due to how long they've been invading your home. There was also the matter of their extreme flexibility and talent to pull things from thin air. Not to mention them being able to just vanish without a trace when you try to prove that someone has been stalking you, only for all of their equipment to be scattered across the floor the second you close the door.

"Tell me what you are right now. Or you won't like the consequences."

Their shoulder quake with a slight laugh. They fall as they continue. "Oh, Y/n. You wouldn't hurt me." Gus claimly states. It's the calmest you've ever seen them, and a little unnerving...

"Because who would hurt a clown!" Yet again - they laugh again without a care in the world. Your frustration reaches levels beyond comprehension, but through that fury an idea comes to mind. You're going to regret this in the morning.

You sigh, running a hand through your hair. Tell me what you are - and I'll give you a kiss."

Gus perks more than their cheerful face could express; smile reaching from ear to ear as they clap their hands together. Were the markings under their eyes always pink hearts? You remembered them being yellow suns.

"Well now you're talking! I'll be a pink elephant if it means I get to smooch those pretty lips of yours, Y/n. I'll tell you exactly you want to hear, but just know that despite everything I tell you, I'm just a normal clown.

fav murakami books so far and have you kinda outgrown him?

My favorites are colorless tsukuru tazaki and his years of pilgrimage, what I talk about when I talk about running, blind Willow sleeping woman, the underground gas attack, the elephant vanishes, after the quake, Kafka on the shore, and south of the border west of the sun

No I haven't outgrown him although I understand the criticisms he gets I love how he writes and how it feels to read his work

I loved Miruko immediately tbh

Favorite thing: Her grit. Her fight with the nomu is badass. She tourniquets her own arm and keeps fighting.

Least favorite thing: That we don’t really get to hear about her after that fight (in the anime at least, I think she pops back up in the manga later but I’m only a watcher, not a manga reader). Where is my girl?

Favorite line: You’re quaking in your boots, aren’t ya?

BrOTP: Hawks, I think they would be buddies that roast each other. But also Endeavor- they work well together and he clearly considers her an exceptional hero based on the hospital fight episode.

OTP: This one is hard bc we haven’t seen her interact with too many characters, but all the ship art is cute: Snowbunny(Mirko and Fuyumi), ChubbyBunny (Mirko and FatGum) are both cute ones.

I’ve also seen dustbunny (her and Tomura) which I don’t ship but I think is a funny idea in theory.

nOTP: I cannot see Mirko and Hawks as anything but best buds.

Random headcanon: She’s gonna get some awesome prosthetics after the hospital fight with the nomu. I think she’ll be positive and cheerful during recovery and determined to return to hero work.

Unpopular opinion: I think she could beat Hawks in a fight.
