single father!kun, he's approching his 50's, slightly greying now and even better, he's super rich... maybe you're his kids nanny; he's been suggesting that you take his offer for a live-in position; it'll be easier for you because you won't have long travel times, plus you get better pay. you'll have your own area of the house, and you won't be pestered during your off hours. there's some hesitation from you, but his kiddo is all for you staying permanently—so, you take the offer.

thinking about the slow burn, 'will they, won't they' that occurs over the next several months. kun actually starts staying home to join for breakfast, and on an occasion that's more than usual, he even gets him early for dinner. by the time the kid is tucked away and deep asleep, you find yourself drinking a glass (or several glasses) of wine with kun. talking about anything under the night sky from music to how planes are made and everything in between.

he shows you glimpses of a finer, more expensive life; and you (with the help of his child, but you especially) help center him back to earth and realize that there's more to life than work and business and making money—there's a whole world of simpler, subtle pleasures that won't drive one crazy at the end of the day. kun finds that his stress levels have gone down and he's in a much happier place now that you're around.

but oh my god, one night you're down two glasses and then four glasses of wine, and kun has had a few glasses of whiskey himself. and with the fireplace and the soft crackling of a record player; the setting, the mood is just right. heavy making out and dry humping on the couch like it's your first times fucking. the stumbling down the hall, grasping at each other once you break through the entrance of his bedroom door.

the moaning and gasping as your naked bodies are pressed together. his nails digging into the skin of your thighs or your back. his lips, swollen, marking up every part of your body that he can. the rough yet drawn out, achingly slow thrusts into you; making you moan out for him. he shushes you to be quiet, but he loves the sounds that you make, he knows he won't be able to go without hearing the music you make.

01. honest answer

I honestly did not give much thought into making it. I put it off for a while- I had it microwave-spinning in my head for a while, with a few features I wanted it to have, but that was about it. I'd also decided on the pink and purple gradient then, but I don't know why and if I could go back and change it, I think I would, honestly. (Unless y'all like it that much) (And I'm not changing it now, I've gone too far with it already)

When I finally started putting it together in Canva, I kinda just... went with it? I knew I wanted rounded corners and certain features in order to tell the story I wanted to tell and thats how we got what we got.

02. tips and tricks from the girl herself (i have no professional experience, actually) (starting out with a resource list)

Cool Editing Sites I Use Often: Canva, Pixlr, Upscale.media, Krita (krita's my art program)

Places for Inspiration: Dribbble (I use it specifically for UI Design inspo), Pinterest, games and other apps on my devices. Google Play Store/App Store

Process for Designing an App (i think.) (so far i have just. done whatever and it came out okay)

Brainstorm what things you want in the app (like features, such as messaging and sign in pages etc.)

Rough outline all of the screens (ex. like your chat screen will look different from the loading screen)

Finish it up and touch it up (like final edits)

Get someone to test run it for you

Edit as needed and Repeat the last step

im a newer es fan and i wanted to ask why natsume talks with the random capitalization in his sentences? i thought you would know :,)

hello!!! happy to have you ♡ i jump at every chance i get to talk about him so i'm glad you asked. clears throat.

so the capitalization itself is supposed to replicate the katakana at the end of his sentences, in english. sometimes it's italics, sometimes boldened, sometimes it's the ends of words sometimes only the first letter.. yadayada same thing!

why he does it in the first place though, in his own words: by distorting the pronounciation of words, it yields a sense of discomfort—the sound caught by the ears reaches the heart. in other words, he speaks weird so that you listen deeper. so that his words reach deeper. what he does with that is up to the situation! he also has a different font he uses and that one seems to be specifically for spells themselves and, well.. threats. you know it when you see it.

bonus: when the katakana/capitalization isn't there, that likely means he doesn't want to be heard. because those words come from his own heart and he doesn't want people to, y'know, know that he has feelings. one example is his surprise when hearing about wataru.. forgot the exact story, but he dropped the katakana because he didn't want his excitement/surprise about seeing him to reach others.

tl;dr: capitalized to replicate katakana. speaks weird so the words reach people's hearts. doesn't use katakana/capitalization when he doesn't want to be heard/is honest

“hey, y/n, it’s kun, i’m coming in,” neighbour!kun knocked to alert you of his presence, before using the spare key you’d given him to open the door of your apartment and let himself in.

the lack of response bothered him slightly, but once he heard the familiar ‘in my feels’ playlist blasting through the speakers in your room and enveloping your apartment in a sombre, solitary forcefield, he relaxed as he approached your bedroom door, shifting the plastic bag he held to his other hand so he could knock on your door.

perhaps it was the music, or maybe the comfort of your messy bedroom, but kun felt as he had somehow stepped into your subconscious, as he got a glimpse into how you lived your life, a glimpse into you. in that moment, you’d never felt more alone, whilst kun had never felt closer to you, until now, seeing you so... so vulnerable.

it was strange to you how much he cared about you considering he was yelling at you through the so-called ‘paper thin walls’ about three weeks ago. it had become a habit of yours to play sad music at unbelievable hours of the day, drowning your emotions in the melodic tones at two in the morning.

kun was a bit of a workaholic, and the times you found most appropriate to blast your music coincided with his most productive hours of the day, resulting in lots of knocking on the wall adjacent to yours telling you to shut up. most of the time, your music was too loud so you couldn’t even hear him, but the one time you did, you took his advice and turned it off.

he thought that he’d finally have his peace and quiet, that was, until, your pained sobs replaced the melancholy music from before, which was inarguably more distracting to kun. not because it was getting in the way of his work, but hearing someone he could be helping suffering on their own took over his mind and his conscience.

it had been a fortnight since he had knocked at your door at the crack of dawn, asking if you were okay and bringing you some of his delicious treats the next day as an apology for invading your privacy and in an effort to help you feel better. those visits came more often than you thought, and now you didn’t think you could last long without them.

“why do you do it?”

the question came out unexpectedly, cutting through the palpable air and making kun’s eyes flitter up to you immediately.

“d-do what?” he questioned, his cheeks plump as he paused in the middle of chewing a mouthful of rice.

“i- well, we’ve only known each other for like, what, less than a month, even though we’ve both lived here for almost a year, and we barely know each other. why go through all that effort for this failing student when you have yourself to look after, and, not to mention your friends that come over once a week. yes, i’ve heard lucas’ infamous karaoke before.”

you had never heard a more healing laugh in your life than the giggle that bubbled through the beautiful boy’s chest, throwing his head onto your shoulder as he remembered xuxi’s unique rendition of ‘my heart will go on’ by celine dion. the sudden contact had your heartbeat racing, and you inwardly hoped that kun couldn’t hear its pounding, despite his close proximity to you.

“remind me to tell the guys to host any karaoke sessions at sicheng’s place,” kun grinned, exhaling with a chuckle in an attempt to calm himself down, “why do i help you? well, i’ll be honest with you, i’ve never really thought about it before.”

that was a lie: the thought followed him every time he hesitated to knock on your door like the aroma of muffins from that one girl who baked too much for her own good that lived down the hallway. he was just too scared to say it out loud, well, until now.

“i guess… i’ve grown to care about you, y/n. seeing anything but a smile on your face hurts me in ways that even i don’t understand. i want you to be happy, even if that means i have to check on you once in a while, or respond to your random text messages at twelve midnight. i want you to be as happy as i am whenever i see you. that’s why i do it - for your happiness.”

you were stunned into silence, opening your mouth to try and respond but no words came out. your eyes were practically flooding with tears and you were sure that kun could hear your heart trying to jump out of your chest.

“well, it worked,” your reply even surprised you, the words coming out of your dry throat on their own as you slung your arms around the caring boy’s neck, “i met you at a real low point in my life, kun, but every moment i spend with you, it makes me want to endure it, get through all the hardships so i can come out better on the other side, and experience that pure glee you want me to. thank you, so much, for everything.”

it was safe to say that your sad songs playlist gradually grew to be untouched, until you no longer found the need to wallow your feelings in the morose music. you finally found your own pace, your own rhythm in life, and it seems that qian kun was the melody you needed to complete your life’s tune.
