2: Is there a meaning behind their name, or a particular reason why they have it? (either in the story, or why you as the author decided to give them their name)

this is sort of a funny question, considering the other two ocs this isn't asked for are the ones with very large reasons for their individual names (...sorta.)

for masa there was actually a big reason! i forgot most of it, but what i DO remember is i took her original name (alavistora or something), minced it up and slapped some nice-sounding names to it (with random gibberish) and thus masarath was born!

for qeum'e it was just sorta something that popped into my head while i was thinking of the void language i was tryna make (i've since abandoned it but w/e) it was mostly just "what kind of name is totally unpronouncable" and then i made. that. i like how there's 70 different ways of pronouncing it. sillay

zismith is...... uh. mostly random letters but also smith hehe bc q used to be arson snail. yay!

3. What does their voice sound like, in a couple of words? (ie soft, scratchy, seductive, high-pitched, etc)

for berro it's... his voice is v twinkly

remy... that'd have to be demure. soft. small

masa voice pretty. girls. she

5. Does their fashion sense reflect an aspect of their personality? (ie bright and colorful outfits symbolizing that they’re an upbeat person)

for masa...

berro obviously views her as Mom but also as a really good friend. she's got the best stories and some of the best jokes (that he heard when he was REALLY little, at least;;) also!! she's a magical girl! that's SO COOL!!! (he's the only one who knows)

w/ zismith it's sorta weird. like obviously they have a sibling relationship and they're best friends but around the start of humaliens their relationship starts falling in and out of Being. near the end of humaliens they'll definitely be friends again but before that it's a really rocky road. she doesnt like his friends and he wishes she would get out more type deal

q doesn't have many thoughts on her other than "zis's cool younger sister" and masa feels aaabout the same tbh. they stream together sometimes but outside of streaming they aren't super duper close

there's a currently unnamed and underdeveloped oc i have who was masa's coworker before masa became a magical girl and they have. tons of thoughts on her. "a hard worker, a good friend, funny and sweet and also really really really shy. needs to get out of her shell more, should hang out with me more. i think she an i should hang out more-" yeah her coworker is fuckign gay.

for zis uh that's spoilers. also i havent thought abt it enough and it's like the same as masa's. so you get to see that..later

berro x wist x april - literally never happenin (april's aroace and wist's only attracted 2 nb people) but very very funny to thnk abt yk. two ridiculously romantic guys and the guy who is just sorta there

remy x klug - klug had a hate-crush on remy and nate and a legit crush on maguro which contributed to his hate-crush on remy earlier in the rp. they're also sort of terribly perfect for each other in the worst ways possible AND their brothers are dating. AND they have "i got possessed and it really was awful" solidarity. AND they have colors. AND-

aloe x ruby - very very cute. they love each other at a respectful distance bc that's what they both need & when they do need affection they know they can always ask. also rlly funny if you consider it for more than a few seconds

doppel x aloe - kurro kept bringing this up as a joke and it's sorta funny. aloe has minus 10 attraction towards doppel (in an affectionate way) but doppel has a massive crush on anyone who's taller than him so

1. What’s the one thing they would save in a fire?

hm... w/ masa it'd be berro no question. if his safety was confirmed she'd prolly take one of the glass shards she saved from That Specific Event i don't think i can mention without having to tag this post ten different things i dont want to tag it as

remy would probably take the ipod that maguro gave them + their phone.. i dont remember them having much else but iam suddenly giving them a motorcycle magazine theyve had since they were about 12 because i just remembered they like motorcycles

david would take his battery acid juicer & the remote control he has for himself, willemjan aster would take his evil science notes and most of the rest of my ocs don't really have anything theyd actively try to save other than their lives

2. What’s their biggest regret?

hooooh boy.

masa regrets killing lein later rather than sooner, frey regrets not trying to stop lein

pirou regrets not taking care of berro herself, berro regrets being so rude to everyone and not noticing masa was spoiling him

zis regrets being friends with kweneren and not noticing how much she was hurting everyone else

willemjan regrets making without, without regrets... everything tbh

david regrets not telling blue the truth, blue regrets being so mean to his sysmates

nerium regrets hiding so much, and running away, and hurting everyone, and nearly killing someone

remy regrets not helping doppel, not helping kare, not helping themself, not doing anything to stop their brother, not doing anything to defend him, not doing anything,

and uh i think that's it

12. What’s their ideal vacation like?

that's kinda tricky since none of my ocs consider that a possibility

masa wants to go back to the country, maybe to her hometown, just visit all the places she used to and maybe see the stars again

frey wants to go to somewhere with an actual Beach because he's insane

zismith wants to go wherever qeum'e wants to and qeum'e just wants to stay home

berro doesn't have a passport so he can't go anywhere but he does like running around in deep forests so

the concept of 'vacations' probably doesn't exist in sky cotl so nerium and aleta . don't

remy honestly thinks that primp is a sort of vacation

and the world of labfixed/underdark doesn't have a word for 'vacation' considering taking a break from your work for extended periods of time is so rare so w/o, willemjan, blue and mundave definitely don't think about it

i honestly haven't thought enough abt them- they're nice, gay, silly, a streamer, disabled and.. that's sort of it;;;;;;;;;;;; although honestly that's sort of in line with the rest of their character as they're very, quiet about their past-

i've been thinking more about how they met everyone, at least - they met everyone through zismith except for zis himself (and kweneren). they knew kweneren from their first job and they met zis while he was playing songs on the street

they became friends with zis after listening to him play a few times and deciding to grab their bass guitar and go play with him - he was really surprised at first but warmed right up to them (mostly because the song needed at least two people to play it but-)

hm... now that i think about it more i believe they'd sometimes take a break during streaming to play their guitar outside. that would be awesome

ALso did i mention that i think after making a joke abt how they should be the 'relatable main character' based on a tumblr post which said if the main characters of most videogames should be 'universally relatable' they should be middle-aged chinese people whose gender changes each year their twitch subscribers + followers started modding them into different games like loz, eastward etc.?

something kinda funny is he is kind of, my second least developed OC but also at the same time the OC i've made the most memes abt and vaguely mentioned the most and put the most thought into so uh yea

again i am sticking with humaliens because that's a lil easier to explain. sorta

backstory!:

his mum was a native american lass (currently undecided due to lack of knowledge but i'm thinking, menominee.) and his father was, a spider alien. during his birth his mother ended up dying, and his father died soon after. as he had a lot of pictures of the two, he still felt pretty connected, but after realizing all he could've had he felt.. really bad for a while

he's not very connected to his heritage, like masa, but (also like masa) he's trying to learn more about it.

also, during college, he ended up becoming roommates with a 16-year-old and VERY VERY VERY edgy masarath. after getting incredibly attached to her, he basically adopted her as his sister, and the two ended up living together even after they both finished college. he helped a lot with raising berro for the first 10 years (until masa finally moved away [to get berro better schooling]) and then he decided to move in with his EPIC GAMER PARTNER QEUM'E

my biggest regret in this post AND the last one is not mentioning qeum'e. the only reason i didn't is because qeum isn't that important to the general,, lore? or story? a complete contrast to the HK au i had because in there qeum'e was like. one of the main characters in two and a half different roleplays djgmvbcvb

anyway! zismith moves in with his epic gamer partner-later-spouse. he ends up becoming a Streamer (derogatory) much to his poor spouse's distaste, and lives a pretty goddamn happy life with qeum'e-

UNTIL

ANOTHER character i regret not mentioning before becomes

RELEVANT

kweneren, childhood friend of zismith and all-around weird kid ended up inheriting her father's massive company after he decides to retire.

she ends up making the company fifty times worse than it already was, lowering the quality of life for every employee drastically (but, brand loyalty, yaknow?) and generally being a dick before zismith (who stayed her friend up until this point) leaves her and she realizes. Maybe she's not in the right here? maybe capitalism isn't good.

it takes a Lot more than this to really convince her but

ANYWAY tl;dr. zismith is a guy and i need to solidify his design properly. he has a great spouse who's a gamer but he isn't and also he's spider

with finch: IMMEDIATELY search for every dungeon possible. would get his sketchbook out and begin writing huge lore things for every tiny detail he finds and then would later share it with his adoptive sister

with qeum'e: no but only in humaliens. in hollow knight qeum'e would probably destroy the ostrich with the power of accidental and very regretful arson (big mood). in humaliens qeum'e is just a thin gamer snail and although qeum'e would not in fact cry when facing an ostrich qeum would Not survive

funnily enough, the only three characters i've ever given any real interests have special interests about their respective future jobs- qeum'e has an interest in games and streams stuff on in-universe twitch for money, wist was interested in zoology and medicine and became a vet/doctor, while berro took an interest in home design and much later became, well, a home designer-

i really should work on giving them all their own interests n stuff, never really worked on that because it never came up but it makes them feel like theyre missing a lot...

For berro i think once he was just beginning to learn to read, he would read all his favorite story books to masa All the Time. he ends up also reading story books to wist and april to help them understand the culture he grew up w more

for masa.... big cuddler and her cuddles are the best. even when shes v muscular she's also very soft and is just nice to cuddle. goes you space when you need it and completely closes the distance when you don't

i don't think Remy has a favourite food. they don't think about themself and what they like enough to decide. but at the same time i think that one day someone will ask them what their favourite food is and they'll automatically say "seafood" as if it had always been true and then it Would Be yknow

Masarath likes meat but doesn't eat it much either ebcause she feels bad about eating it or she doesn't have enough money. She also liked to eating plain bread & crackers to upset zismith when she was a teen

Berro likes sugar because he is a child and will continue t like sugar when he's older because he's a silly little guy. he doesn't eat plant sugars much ebcause that is cannibalism /j it's actually because he finds out that plant sugars are usually only given t royalty on his home planet and he feels bad about sssociung himself with royalty

Qeum'e likes eating salads and honestly eats the healthiest ot of q's friendgroup which is sort of hilarious

zismith doesn't eat much because of reasons but he likes the same stuff masa does minus the plain bread & crackers
