July 31, 2024 - Orange-winged Pytilia or Golden-backed Pytilia (Pytilia afra) These estrildid finches are found in a scattered range across parts of southern and eastern Africa. They live in open woodlands, tall grass savannas, thickets, and cultivated areas. Foraging on the ground in pairs or small flocks, they feed on grass seeds and termites.
