#notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article

Things we needed to happen at the Winter Olympics 2018 Men Figure Skating and what we GOT!
So, here is the recap! Are you all still alive?!
1. No injuries for anyone!  ✓
2. Fair judging and no scandals (as far as that is possible)   ✓ I put a check in here because there were no scandals in the single events men. Regarding judging, there will always be voices that claim unfairness. But I think this time it was fairly bearable :)
3. Yuzuru Hanyu fulfilling his dream despite being injured and out of training for quite a long time  ✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓ DEAR JESUS!!!!!! THE SKATING GOD BLESSED US ALL!!!!

5. Yuzuru Hanyu having somewhere a tiny Pooh Bear with him because (stupid) rules do not allow his tissue box    ✓ He did, that sneaky boy ;) Look at the box under the cake. Also, the cake...

Season over for Sofia Goggia
Tumblr media
Sofia Goggia was the victim of a fall on the return slope that led to the valley the competitors of the women’s super giant slalom cancelled on the track of Garmisch due to fog. The 28-year-old has reported a sprained-concussive injury to the right knee and, after having immediately returned to Italy, was subjected to an MRI. The FISI Medical Commission has highlighted a compound fracture of the lateral tibial plateau of the right knee. In the coming days will be evaluated the exact recovery time, Goggia will not take part in the World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo that will start on Monday, February 8 and will begin the rehabilitation process in view of the resumption of competitive activity.
During her career, Sofia has been repeatedly persecuted by injuries, starting from 2010, when she torn ACL of both knees at different times. Returning to competitive activity, in February 2012 she suffered a strain to the collateral ligaments of both knees and a fracture of the tibial plateau of the right leg. In 2014 it was the turn of the cruciate ligament in his right knee. In October 2018 she fractured the peroneal malleolus of her right leg during a training session in Hintertux, in February 2020 a compound radio fracture of her left arm on the track of Garmisch put an early end to her competition season. All these injuries did not stop her from winning eleven World Cup victories with a third place in the overall 2016/17, the triumph in the downhill World Cup 2017/18, two medals at the World Championship (silver in super-G in Are 2019 and a bronze in giant in St. Moritz 2017) and the Olympic title in downhill in PyoengChang 2018.

At a meeting at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne on Friday 15th February, South Korea and North Korea discussed their joint plans for the Olympics.

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – You can call her Westfield’s golden child. Saturday, the whole city welcomed Kacey Bellamy back home.
From Westfield to Pyoengchang, Kacey Bellamy’s career on the hockey rink has no borders. Kacey came home from the 2010 and 2014 Olympic games with silver medals, but this time she comes to Westfield with the gold.
After winning gold with the USA women’s hockey team in the 2018 Olympic final, Kacey was welcomed with a police escort through the city and a meet-and-greet and autograph signing with her fans at the Westfield Boys and Girls Club.
Bellamy told 22News she enjoys having fans of all ages. “Any little girl that has seen the medal or comes up to me, that’s an impression that will last a lifetime for me. That goes a long way. For me, at 5 years old, if i was able to meet an Olympian who won a medal or championship, it’d be special. So today, I hope I can do that for young girls.”
Olympic gold medalist Kacey Bellamy’s biggest fan–her sister
State Senator Don Humason told 22News about the impact Bellamy has had on the people of Westfield. “It’s really cool to see the little boys and girls get her autograph, to see how many peoples lives that her and her team have touched, we’re so proud.”
Billy Ing of Westfield, who was at the gold medal game, told 22News he was grateful to meet a great athlete and person. “Besides the fact that she’s an amazing athlete, she’s an even better person, she’s one of the sweetest people ive met. I have nothing but happiness and praises for her, to be able to watch her win gold live at South Korea, and to be there in person to witness history is a moment I will take to the grave. One of the best moments of my life, watching that.”
“She inspires me every day,” Kacey Bellamy’s mom says
Westfield Mayor Brian Sullivan said that March 10th, 2018 will forever be known as Kacey Bellamy Day in the city of Westfield.
Kacey returned home to Westfield Saturday after her third appearance in the Olympics with the U.S. women’s hockey team.
Local residents react to Kacey Bellamy’s gold medal victory
